Panic Restaurant
Review by KTG2
"Why do I always review the weird ones? O.o"
It seems I'm cursed to always review the strangest games. Alas, can't win em all, I guess. Anyway...well, Panic Resturaunt is an interesting little game I picked up at a garage sale a few years back. After getting home from said sale, I popped it into the old NES and decided to give it a whirl. What I got was a mixture of zany action and the tiniest bits of skill. I guess I should explain that. Well, you know the rating system, so lets rock :O Note if you're stupid: I rate each category of the game from 1-10. k? ^_^;
Graphics: 7/10
I don't really understand grading 8-bit graphics in all their...well, 8-bit glory, but whatever. The graphics DO look interesting, to say the least. The entire game is colorful and zany, enough to keep any gamer satisfied for a while...as long as you can pull yourself away from your graphic pushing next-gen systems long enough to play it ;P
Sound: 4/10
One of the areas (Possibly the only one) where the game really lacks. The sound is tedious, except for one or two songs O_o;; Otherwise, it's just boring music and thwacking noises....boredom! :O It's like listening to a mixture of Eminem, Shakira and a cheese grater on my skull. Ah, the symphonic beauty makes my brain hurt. And gives me the strangest urge for mozzarella. Weird O_ o
Story: 7/10
LMAO! A rather interesting story indeed. Playing the role of a wacky chef, you find that your rival chef has stolen your resturaunt and turned all of your food products into ravenous mutants. Which is bad. Because now everything from pizza, to microwaves, to friend chicken is attacking you. It's almost like that time I got wasted, and stumbled into the KFC...O_O; Well, ok, not really, but still...at least I didn't get arrested playing the game ^_^ Beat that. But an interesting story overall...
Gameplay: 6/10
It gets a bit monotonous after a little whil, but all is well here. I mean, you're a mad cook. You've got an arsenal that would make the Iron Chef jealous. And you're pissed off at your mutated food. Cue in LOTS of thwacking. Whee. Overall, the gameplay is fun, but nothing too fresh and innovative...but hey, it's the NES. What in god's name did you expect?
Overall: 7/10
I'm telling you people, if you see Panic Resturaunt at a garage sale or something...pick it up. I'll bet you an egg, a plate and a spoon you'll have fun ^^;
