Review by Megatron2003
"Batman's first debut on the old school classic NES!"
Well this is Batman's first reveiw on the NES system. I remember playing this videogame back when it was still sitting on the shelves, in my local video game store haha. I pretty much played all of the Batman videogames I could get my hands, and you'll see more reveiws of them later. I am a little lazy with reveiws, anyways, here we go once again.
Graphics: 6/10
Batman himself looked pretty well detailed for the time being. I would of find that hilarious if it was Prince...haha sorry I own the movie soundtrack by him...Oh where was I? Ah yes. The backgrounds are pretty detailed and looked well drawn. The enemys were different, which ranged from flying thugs that shot at you and to the flamethrower thugs to the dam annoying robot like ground purple thingys. Oh, and the occaisional thugs that run at you are detailed pretty well. But if the graphics were like Batman: ROTJ, then I probably would of given it a higher score.
Control: 5/10
The control was confusing at times to me for some reason. I noticed that the select button was the pause button....? Not the select your weapon button..? That really bothered me at times, especially right before a boss fight. The weapons are easy to handle. You use buttons A and B to punch or jump during your exploration of the levels. Batman moves pretty well and goes quick while running.
Audio/Sound Effects: 8/10
The music is pretty rocking. Not as good as Batman: ROTJ. But it still has the Batmanish punch beat to it. I should make a few notices that some of the levels like the opening title song was dark and moody. Gotham City's level was pretty sweet. And my personal favorite was the Axis Chemical Factory theme. Reminds of something that could be used to dance to. Heh. Now for the sound effects, they are the usual Batman fare. I find it funny how theres a tune that plays when you die.
Replayability: 6/10
I am giving this a 6 because you can probably stand playing it a bunch of times and master the levels. I know myself I am always having problems with the jump system. The chemical plant is real challenge level. But it is fun to play a bit.
Overall: 8/10
This video game would be worth a lot to Batman fans and causal. I would suggest you would go to your local EBay and or Funcoland. Its probably about ten bucks or less. Just be sure to spend a lot of time mastering that jump technique in level two. Well, I am outta here, thanks for reading my review.
