The Addams Family

"Stay away from this game, it'll scar you for life."

A long time ago( back in the day of the NES's greatness) a young boy was given this game by one of his friends who was no longer interested in it. The boy eagerly put this game in his NES and started playing. It didn't take long for even his young mind to discover what a horrid game it was. Who was that boy? It was me, and I feel the need to spread the word about this game to save others from this horrible experience.

Concept:
You, the patriarch of the Addams Family, have to save your family( mainly your wife Morticia ) from some evil guy. You accomplish this by collecting oodles of money and thrashing the undead who inhabit your house.

Graphics:
Meh, not jaw dropping for an NES game but they don't really detract from gameplay so they don't bother me.

Controls:
These are absolutely horrible, your jumps have to be right on or you'll die and considering your meager amount of lives this can get frustrating quite easily.

Sound:
Ugh, even for an NES game these are bad! That annoying Addam's family theme gets old real fast and the stupid noises the enemies make don't go easy on the ears either.

Gameplay:
Terrible, absolutely terrible. The jumps are tough to make, the enemies are just idiotic(crazy teddy bears that can't be killed and numerous other idiotic enemies that are somehow immortal are just examples). As was usual for platforms back then you killed enemies by jumping on them. Even this was tough because you have such meager health and lives and you only get a shield that only works 3 times(yes I know, it's pathetic). This game is basically a test of your patience. I can recall trying for damn near 10 minutes to climb a few platforms just to turn on a damn shower, it was challenging because there was soap bars sliding up and down the platforms and if it touched you you'd fall to the beginning. We all slip and fall when soap touches us when we're standing still don't we? And don't get me started on this game's wonderful underwater adventure, it was quite possibly the most aggravating thing I've experience in video games in a long time.

Overall:
Crap, absolute crap. This game is just painful to play and watch. Stay away from this game my brothers! It will taint your soul and it makes small children cry.

Buy or Rent:
Preferably neither, but if someone wants to give it to you for free it's probably worth a go so you can see if you're up for one of the most challenging and annoying games ever.
