Clu Clu Land

Review by DarkLink89

"An really innovative game!"

You may be asking, What the hell is Clu Clu Land? Well Clu Clu Land is a game that was released by Nintendo in 1985. I t was very innovative for it's time and believe it or not, it's still is. Clu Clu Land is really innovative and I have yet to see another game like this one. Want to see how these game stands by today standards? read the review then.

Graphics 8/10

This is one of the first NES games that ever came out for the system so you can expect the graphics to be very bland. Since I'm reviewing the game in the NES, I'm going to rate it based on the power of this system . The graphics in this game are very good for it's time, Bubbles and the sea urchins look good and very detailed. The levels are kinda bland at the start but once you start uncovering the ingots, you'll see they are very different and creative. Really good graphics for a NES game.

Sound 7/10

This game has really got nice sound effects for the time it was made. The beam you shoot and when you hit the urchins against the wall sounds really good. The music in this game is really catchy especially the main menu one. The bad thing about the sound is that it needed more sound effects and maybe one or two more tunes.

Gameplay 9/10

Like I said before, this game is really innovative. Your objective is to help Bubbles, the character you use uncover all the treasure(a.k.a ingots) in the level. The thing won't be easy thought since the sea urchin will try to stop you. That may sound dumb and too easy, so to make the game challenging, Nintendo decided that Bubbles couldn't turn left or right by herself so to do that you have to use the posts all over the level to turn. The sea urchin are your main enemies so to destroy them, you have to shoot your beam at them to paralyze them and them you have to squash them against the wall. Every once in a while you will get to go to a bonus stage where the main objective is just to racked up as much points as possible. The game also has a multiplayer mode which is really fun. The bad thing about this game is that is difficult for new people to master the game but once they get it, it will feel natural. A really innovative game though.

Replay 10/10

This game has infinite replay value since you will never get bored with it. You can try to beat your old hi-scores and playing with your friend and really fun and you'll know you're having a really great tim playing this game.

Overall Score 8/10

This game is really good and very innovative. A really good game for the NES.
