Monster mirror hangers
When you are choosing your route direction on the course menu, instead of just pressing X, press either X+L1, X+L2, X+R1, or X+R2 and release when it says loading. You should get one of four different mirror ornaments in the first person view.

Unlockables
Level 7 Engine, Level 8 Muffler, and Level 5 Body Tune
Buy a car in Conquest mode ,save, then go win a race in Quick Race, but don't touch any buttons after winning. Leave the PS2 on for 30 hours(to be safe) in this way, then go to System and save. Go to Conquest and hit L2 on your controller. Make sure the Distance is above 1864 miles on that car. You will have unlocked special parts that are unattainable by any other means, and for the car with the miles only. You can do this with any car in the game, and more than one that you own. I figure around $350,000 is needed to buy all these parts for the car with the miles

Unlockable Cars
Unlockable How to Unlock Datsun(Fairlady)240Z Successfully defeat all racers(including all wanderers)and racer #400 will challenge you. Defeat him and the Datsun 240Z will be unlocked for purchase. Secrets
Change Horn to Siren
Select the rear spoiler type 5 for R30 and R30M to change the horn to an extremely loud siren.

Machine Gun
Purchase an R30 or R30M and buy the Type-5 spoiler. When racing, you will now have a machine gun mounted on the top. Press the Reverse button (by default O) to fire it. Be warned, this actually moves cars forward as opposed to destroying them.
