V) CHARACTERS
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
----------------------
VIRGINIA MAXWELL
dual-pistol specialist
----------------------
AGE: 18
HEIGHT: 5'4"
WEIGHT: 108lbs
WEAPONS: Rapier Ez, Bantorain 93R
A young woman and leader of the team. Her teenage years were very stressful -
first her father went missing, then her mom passed away after she gave up hope
of ever seeing him again. Virginia continued to live with her uncle. At the age
of 18, something happens to the village she lives in, which helps her
ultimately decide to become one of the Drifters.
Tools:
1. Tindercrest - used to light up various devices
2. Galecrest - use to move quickly across floor and to cross small gaps in
the floor (gaps must be equal or shorter than one square, or
else you fail to cross the gap)
3. Changecrest - use to switch shapes between orange blocks or orange gems;
if you target white gem with this tool, you will be
immediately warped to its location; can also be used to
change 'shapes' of few small animals found in towns
-------------------------
GALLOWS CARRADINE
man who wants to run away
-------------------------
AGE: 24
HEIGHT: 6'3"
WEIGHT: 220lbs
WEAPONS: Modified Coyote M17F
One of the Baskar people, tribe who are devotees of the Guardian, Gallows is
supposed to follow his lineage and destiny, but he thinks otherwise. He wants
to run away from it all, to live freely as a Drifter (specifically speaking to
become a ladies man). Will he really? Or will he return to the life he was
supposed to lead?
Tools:
1. Freezer Doll - use to put out blue flames or to freeze stuff up
2. Steady Doll - use to activate hard-to-reach switches and loot the
contents of hard-to-reach chests
3. Kramer Dolls - if used in dungeons, it will activate immediate battle; can
also be used to trigger optional boss battles
------------------
JET ENDURO
boy with lost past
------------------
AGE: Unknown
HEIGHT: 5'4"
WEIGHT: 126lbs
WEAPONS: Airget-lamh B/V2
A lone wolf Drifter, living only for the next day. Wherever there's a rumor of
priceless treasure, Jet is almost guaranteed to pop up there. Cold, money-runs-
the-world type, doesn't speak much, not used to company... Sadly, he has no
recollection of his past, where he was born or who he really is. Is Jet even
his real name?
Tools:
1. Boomerang - use to activate sphere-shaped switches; use to destroy
some weaker obstacles; once thrown, direct the flight
path with left stick
2. Radar - use to scan the current room and point out valuables by
a distinctive sound and green marker
3. Radical Sneakers - use to jump up a small distance to reach inaccessible
areas; use in conjunction with jump panels to reach...
uhh... inaccessible areas? *laughs*
--------------
CLIVE WINSLET
man with honor
--------------
AGE: 30
HEIGHT: 5'8"
WEIGHT: 152lbs
WEAPONS: Gungnir HAG35
He is one of rare Drifters that chose this 'profession' for common good. Unlike
most other Drifters, Clive travels over the world as a bounty hunter and helps
people in need by exterminating dangerous beasts, guard duties and more.
Another reason for his travels is wanting to find out reasons for Filgaia's
current state.
Tools:
1. Bomb - use to destroy obstacles and blow up cracked walls
2. Mighty Gloves - use to lift/push heavy objects (you cannot move while
heavy object is lifted)
3. Grappling Hook - use to propel yourself up to higher areas, but only
possible if there's a hookable ceiling above you; use to
hit some orb switches found on ceilings
These are the four characters you will be able to control during your journey
thru the lands of Filgaia. In addition to these, there are many more other
memorable characters you will encounter, but I'll let it up to you to find out
who these will be.

-------------------------------------
LESSON NUMBER TWO - STARTING NEW GAME
-------------------------------------
Step 1 - When Wild Arms 3 intro logo shows up, press Start.
Step 2 - When presented with selecting PAL on NTSC, I suggest NTSC if your TV
supports it. PAL has two small, but annoying borders.
Step 3 - You will be presented with two choices, Load and New Game. Press
Circle button once to move the cursor to Load. Select New game.
Step 4 - When asked to confirm, choose Yes. Intro sequence will play.
Step 5 - On Character Selection screen, you will have to complete all four
prologues before journey as a team begins. When chr is selected, you
will see selected chr's brief description and difficulty of his/her
scenario. I suggest clearing Virginia's first, followed by Jet's,
Gallows' and finally Clive's.
Please note that you can also start a new game by selecting Options from the
main menu. At this screen select Load to bring up Load data screen. Here choose
New Game and reconfirm the selection.
--------------------------------------
LESSON NUMBER THREE - SAVING YOUR GAME
--------------------------------------
It is vitally important that you save your game every so often. You can save
your progress in three ways.
MEMORY FIGURE: Scattered across most towns are these nifty devices, easily
spottable with their trademark hats. Approach one and talk to
it. You will be asked if you want to save. Choose Yes. Save
data screen will show up. Once its done reading the memory
card/s, choose a slot you wish to save to. Confirm the
selection with yes to complete the procedure.
GIMEL COIN: Semi-hard to obtain item, this little chap saves your game
almost anywhere. From the main menu enter Item menu and select
Gimel coin, then press X. Save procedure is the same as that
when saving with Memory figure. One save consumes one Gimel
coin. Please note that during certain events you will not be
able to save your game with help of Gimel coins.
CHAPTER END: Wild Arms 3 story is comprised of chapters. At the end of each
chapter Save data screen automatically shows up. Save process,
again, is the same. Also, at end of each chr's prologue, you
will be able to save your progress.
Furthermore, there are some other things you need to know.
- Memory figures are only present in towns.
- The only way to save your game inside the dungeon is by Gimel coins.
- You can obtain more Gimel coins by finding them in chests, defeating enemies
for them, or by searching boxes, drawers, tables etc.
- One memory card can hold up to 99 WA3 game saves.
- Save Data Management you see is used to delete unnecessary saves or to copy
other saves onto another memory card.
-----------------------------------------
LESSON NUMBER FOUR - CONTINUING YOUR GAME
-----------------------------------------
Step 1 - When Wild Arms 3 intro logo shows up, press Start.
Step 2 - You will be presented with two choices, Load and New Game. Meanwhile
the game automatically scans available memory card/s for any WA3
saves which have already been recorded.
Step 3 - When scanning is done, select the save you wish to continue playing
from (below information appears with important chr data, where the
save was made, how much gella you acquired and current play time)
and press X. Reconfirm the selection to complete the procedure.
Please note that you can also load any previous save by selecting Options from
the main menu. At this screen select Load to bring up Load data screen. Here
choose a save slot you wish to continue playing from and reconfirm the
selection.
-----------------------------------
LESSON NUMBER FIVE - INFIELD SCREEN
-----------------------------------
Infield screen is the one you will see the most of. This screen appears
whenever you enter a town or a dungeon. Following information is displayed:
1. Encounter gauge in upper left corner
2. Currently controlled chr's selected tool in upper right corner
3. Acquired gella and current play time in lower left corner
4. Compass cursor, which indicates north direction
Infield screen can be rotated either with L1 or R1 buttons. Pressing both at
same time centers the infield direction to north. Rotating the screen is
helpful in noticing hidden passageways, switches or treasures.
-----------------------------
LESSON NUMBER SIX - WORLD MAP
-----------------------------
Whenever you exit towns and dungeons, you'll end up in overworld. Following
information is displayed:
1. Encounter gauge in upper left corner
2. Acquired gella and current play time in lower left corner
3. Compass cursor, which indicates north direction
When on the overworld, your goal is to explore the unseen lands to discover new
cities and dungeons. You can do so by pressing Square, which will activate
Search system (SS from now on).
However, this alone isn't enough to actually find a town or dungeon. First you
MUST BE GIVEN A CLUE to whereabouts of your next destination (some exceptions
apply). You can obtain clues either by talking to people or examining signposts
(explained a bit below). Once you know where to start looking, head there on
the world map, activating SS as you go. Once you get close enough to your next
destination, the latter reveals itself. Approach it and structure's name and
icon will appear. Press X to enter.
Let me present an example:
- one of first dungeons you'll clear is Ruins of Memory
- it is located SE from Jolly Roger
- true, you may know its *exact* location, but you can search as much as you
like and ruins will not show up, you *must be given a clue first*
- you get your clue at certain point in Jolly Roger, and only then do Ruins of
Memory show up on world map
Please note that SS can also be used to find gella and signposts scattered all
over. Reading these signposts is another way to obtain clues to whereabouts of
towns and dungeons.
You're advised to buy World Screen ASAP. You can buy it for 5000 gella from
item merchant. Once you have it and you're on the overworld, press Select
button to bring up the world map. Once you're also in possession of Map Scope
item, pressing Select multiple times cycles map view in this order:
Immediate surroundings -> world map -> regional view -> no map
At first your only transport will be your feet. Later in the game more means of
transport will be made available:
1. Train - by paying a small fee you can travel to other continents of Filgaia
2. Horse - obtained as part of story you can use a horse to quickly travel
across land; horse is also capable of jumping over crevasses
3. Sandcraft - also obtained as part of the story with this ship you can
navigate the sand seas and gain access to lands you can't reach on foot, but
you can only land on beaches
4. 'Aircraft' - find out for yourself what you will be piloting, I won't spoil
the surprise...
-------------------------------------
LESSON NUMBER SEVEN - EXPLORING TOWNS
-------------------------------------
When inside a town, you can do all sorts of stuff...
1. Talk to people to learn about your next destination, obtain clues, hear more
about the storyline or just some random chitchat. Depending on chr currently
selected conversation can vary, so try switching chrs often when talking to
people.
2. Examine chests to obtain the contents.
3. Perform chr's actions (either by tools or activating a device) to have
something happen.
4. Enter houses to examine other people's belongings and claim them for yours
(if there's anything worth stealing, that is). Sometimes you can also find
interesting books on bookshelves. Read these to learn more about the storyline
or to obtain helpful hints.
5. Enter shops to sell, buy or upgrade. More on this in section IX.
6. Activate Selected Keyword, ASK - sometimes when talking to people, you will
see green colored phrase pop up between text. Pressing Square will enable you
to place a cursor on this phrase. Press X now to find out more about that
phrase. If there's more than one phrase to select from, use dir. buttons to
toggle between them. Activating ASK is important, for you can find out
important clues.
7. When talking to people, sometimes a sound effect will be triggered. This
denotes that you've just been given a direction of a town/dungeon you haven't
yet discovered.
8. Use chrs' tools near animals to see them do some funny stuff.
----------------------------------------
LESSON NUMBER EIGHT - EXPLORING DUNGEONS
----------------------------------------
The stuff without which you can't go anywhere until it's cleared - the dungeon.
As with towns, there's a lot to do here.
1. Exploring alone will not be enough. Often times you will have to clear a
puzzle or disable a trap to advance.
2. Examine chests to obtain the contents. Be warned: sometimes you will need to
defeat Mimics or Imitators to claim the contents of the chest. Some chests are
also sealed by magic - to open these you will need to use Duplicator.
3. Perform chr's tool actions by pressing Square to have something happen
(Start button lets you choose chr and a tool you wish to employ; you can switch
between chrs only by pressing L2; R2 and L2 pressed together switches between
tools of currently selected chr).
4. Engage in monster or boss battles (explained in section VIII).
5. You will find gems scattered across dungeon. They come in three varieties:
- orange gems fill up 1/20 of your VIT gauge
- white gems fill up 1/10 of your ENC gauge
- blue gem fills 1/10 of ECNG and 1/20 of VIT gauge
----------------------------------------
LESSON NUMBER NINE - CHARACTER'S ACTIONS
----------------------------------------
1. Dash - hold down X button
- dashing in certain things can open new paths or cause
something nice to happen
2. Jump down - if you're about to fall, press X to accomplish this
- if dashing, you fall down immediately
3. Pick up - press X when facing a pickable item
- to pick up heavier items, Clive's Mighty Gloves are necessary
4. Throw - press X when carrying pickable item
5. Push - press X when facing pushable item, then use dir. buttons to
push the item in desired direction
- to push heavier items, Clive's Mighty Gloves are necessary
6. Pull - press X when facing pullable item, then use dir. buttons to
pull the item in desired direction
- to pull heavier items, Clive's Mighty Gloves are necessary
7. Turning - face the handle, then press and hold X to grab it
- you can turn handles clockwise or counterclockwise
8. Notice - if you're lost and tools don't seem to help, press R2 and X to
have your chr 'notice' anything of importance in current room
in the direction you're facing (turn around and keep pressing
X to readjust field of vision)
9. Hang - you can hang onto certain obstacles, such as gratings
- stand beneath the grating and press X to grab on
- move around with dir. buttons, fall down by pressing Circle
- if at the edge of grating and there's enough space above the
grating, press X to climb atop the grating
10. Search - anything you think is important, stand close to it and press X
to examine the item in question

===============================================================================
VII) MENUS
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
Main menu is accessed by pressing Triangle when on Infield screen/overworld.
- in the top row you will see six command icons
- below a summary of chrs' status will be displayed (explained later)
- if you don't know what a certain thing means or does, press Triangle to bring
up a help line at the very top
---------
ITEM MENU
---------
- Item menu is accessed by selecting first command icon in main menu.
- Top row consists of three commands (explained a bit below).
- Most of the screen is reserved to browse thru items you've obtained so far.
- You can hold a maximum of 180 different items.
- You can hold a maximum quantity of 99 for a single item.
Here's the explanation of the three commands:
1. Use: When you want to use a certain item for a character, select the item
and select which character you wish to use the item for. Items that cannot be
used are greyed out.
2. Move: Rearrange the items' order manually. Select first item, then select
second item to have them switch places.
3. Sort: Rearrange the items' order automatically from one of three categories
(Consumables lists consumable items first, Gear lists items that can be
equipped on mediums first, and Event lists items important for story progress
first).
-----------
MEDIUM MENU
-----------
This option becomes available after you obtain first medium in Fallen
Sanctuary. It lets you:
1. INVOKE COMMAND
Main purpose of Invoke is to equip various mediums to your chrs (max number of
mediums you can equip is three per one chr). To select a medium you wish to
equip, first select a character, then select one of three available slots and
finally select the medium.
Equipping mediums brings following advantages:
- it strengthens certain chr's statistics
- Force ability Summon becomes available (explained later)
- Arcana ability becomes available (explained later)
- you can add Personal skills to your chrs
- if Force point gauge becomes MAX, you become Condition Green! and any status
effects are lifted
2. PERSONAL SKILL (select the chr whose PS you wish to equip/change)
Each medium equipped already possesses three Personal Skills (PS from now on).
You can equip these PS on your chrs by expending PS points your chrs gain each
time they level up (you gain one PS point for each level).
You'll see that most PS have up to four levels of activation. That means you
can invest PS points into a particular PS more than once in order to increase
this PS' effect.
To allocate PS points, select Manual, then the desired skill. PS points are
deducted with each activation. You can equip single chr with up to 24 PS.
Example of PS' effect increasing:
Dark Ward has four levels of activation (1 PS point per level). Each time you
invest 1 PS point, your resistance to dark element attacks will increase -
first level by 25%, second by 50%, third by 75%, fourth (final) by 100%.
In addition to Manual there are two more commands available:
- Auto command allows you to automatically distribute available PS points with
help of one of five parameters (Average, Attack, Defense, Elemental, Status).
- Reset command lets you retrieve PS points allocated to a certain PS. Use this
command when you wish to assign PS points to a PS which you think is more
suitable for the current situation.
3. EQUIP
Each medium you obtain already has 3 PS. You can add more PS to certain medium
by using Gear-type items. Max number of additional PS is five. This means that
in the end one medium can have a max of 8 PS. Once Equip is selected, choose a
medium you wish to equip, then select a gear slot and finally assign desired
Gear item.
You can delete PS, that were added by Gear items, once you feel they no longer
serve the purpose, but beware! Any deleted Gear is lost permanently.
----------------
AUTO-BATTLE MENU
----------------
If you feel that your chrs can take on regular enemies without your input, you
can select Auto-Battle mode (ABM from now on). Three modes are available.
1. MANUAL
Player must manually choose chr's commands prior to each turn.
2. ALL-OUT ATTACK
Chrs will only use Shoot during each turn.
3. BALANCED ATTACK
In addition to Shoot, chrs may also employ using Arcana abilites etc., and
consider each individual's strengths and weaknesses.
You need to know these:
- each time battle commences, you need to press X to engage ABM
- pressing Circle anytime during ABM sequence will grant you access to commands
at start of next turn
--------------
FORMATION MENU
--------------
Select this if you want to change the formation of your party lineup. Chr top
left will have his/her commands inputted first, followed by chrs positioned top
right, bottom left and bottom right.
However, this doesn't mean that the chr in top left position will execute
his/her command first. That is determined by chr's RFX points, ie whoever has
highest RFX at the current turn gets to go first.
1. SWITCH
Select first chr you wish to change, then select the second chr you wish to
switch with.
2. SANDCRAFT (appears once you get sandcraft)
Lets you switch between positions on the sanccraft. Select first chr you wish
to assign to different position to be taken to chr switch screen. Here you can
choose second chr you wish to switch with. Before you do so, compare how the
stats of Sancraft would be should switching be complete. If many/all stats
would go down, I recommend leaving as it is. Is however, there's a major
improvement in sandcraft's stats, complete the switch. Reconfirm the selection
by selecting Confirm.
-----------
STATUS MENU
-----------
1. CHARACTER STATUS
In here you can examine various statistics of your chrs. Once you select Status
command, select Characters, then select one of available chrs and press X to be
taken to selected chr's statistic overview.
- In top row chr's name is displayed. Switch between chrs with R1/L1 buttons.
- Top to middle left corner is reserved for chr's overall status.
- Bottom left corner has info on equipped mediums and tools chr got so far.
- Most of the right part is reserved for more detailed chr's stats. Press left
or right dir. buttons to scroll thru following four pages: statistics (what
aspect do they represent explained below), PS equipped (explained in mediums
menu above [if more than 12 PS are equipped, press up/down dir. buttons to view
the rest), Arcana (explained later) and Arm specs (explained later).
Let me explain what does a specific statistic stand for.
a) LV - Chr's current level.
b) HP - Chr's hit points. Numbers indicate current HP / MAX HP. If current
HP becomes zero, chr becomes fallen and is unable to fight unless
treated properly.
c) FP - Chr's Force points (explained later).
d) VIT - Vitality meter. Numbers indicate current VIT / MAX VIT. After each
successful battle, VIT will be used to help recover HP gauge. 1 VIT
point is used for 1/100 of HP gauge. VIT points are recovered by
collecting orange gems or by spending a night in an inn.
e) MTC - Chr's Material counter. Dictates how many times can you use Summon
ability during battles. MTC is recovered after spending a night in
an inn or winning battles. Left number indicates current MTC, the
right maximum MTC. Increase max MTC by using Growth Eggs or by
killing enemies***.
f) EXP - Chr's current experience points.
g) NXT - Amount of EXP needed to advance to next level.
h) ARM - Name of ARM currently being used.
i) ATT - Attack power, which determines damage of physical attacks. Higher it
is, more damage you inflict.
j) DEF - Defence power, determines damage you take from enemy's physical
attacks. Higher it is, less damage you receive.
k) MAG - Magic power, which determines damage of magical attacks. Higher it
is, more damage you inflict.
l) MGR - Magic defence power, determines damage you take from enemy's magical
attacks. Higher it is, less damage you receive.
m) RFX - Reflex or speed, determines how quickly you can act during battles.
Higher it is, faster you can act.
n) AIM - Higher it is, more likely you are to hit the enemy with physical
attacks.
o) EVA - Evasion, determines how likely you are to dodge the attacks. Higher
it is, more likely you are to dodge.
p) LCK - Luck, determines how often you score criticals and pre-emptive
strikes (ie battles where your party ambushes enemy's). Higher it
is, more criticals you get and more first-attacks.
***How does MTC increase by killing enemies? Credit: Andvareel
When a character kills an enemy with a summon, the summoner earns a special
kind of hidden experience called MTC-Experience. A character earns an MTC when
s/he earns a certain amount of MTC-Exp.
The actual amount of MTC-Exp earned for killing an enemy depends on the level
of the enemy compared to the level of the caster. For example, if a level 50
Jet kills a level 43 Bombardier, 43/50, or 0.86 MTC-Exp is earned.
The total amount of MTC-Exp required for earning an MTC is based on the
experience formula. An MTC is awarded after 7 MTC-Exp, the next after an
additional 12 MTC-Exp (19 total), and the next after an additional 18 MTC-Exp
(37 total).
The MTC-E amounts required for the first 15 MTC are:
0, 7, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 193, 145, 174, 202, 236
Fighting on horseback near Ballack Rise is the best known location for earning
MTC-E. Earning MTC from MTC-E becomes impractical after the 9th earned this
way.
Growth eggs do not affect MTC-E in any way - they simply increase MTC by one.
Therefore, growth eggs should be used immediately.
2. SANDCRAFT STATUS
In here you can examine various statistics of your sandcraft. Once you select
Status command, select Sandcraft and press X to be taken to selected chr's
statistic overview.
- In top left corner LV (equals your ML), HP and FP of sandcraft are displayed.
- Middle left corner displays current equipment of sandcraft.
- Bottom left corner displays which chr is assigned to which position on
sandcraft, ie Helmsman, Harpooner, Gunner and Deckmate.
- Most of the right part serves as basis to find out what each of sandcraft's
positions does. Listed are Attacks, Force abilities and FP, followed by stats
that are needed for specific position. Scroll between positions by pressing
left/right dir. buttons.
More detailed explanation is found in the section Sandcraft.
3. 'AIRCRAFT' STATUS
There's only few pages you can view here. In upper left corner, aircraft's LV
(equal to amount of Migrant Seals you currently possess), HP (base HP of all
chrs added together and multiplied by 64) and default FP bar (equal to ML
multiplied by 5) are displayed. Most of the right of the screen is reserved for
statistics, ARM abilities and FA-s. More detailed explanation is found in
section Aircraft.

===============================================================================
VIII) BATTLE SYSTEM
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
---------
ENCOUNTER
---------
When strolling down the dungeon or on world map, a ! (exclamation mark) may
appear above chr's head - this means that you're about to fall into random
battle. When ! appears, you can choose to engage in battle (explained later) or
avoid the encounter altogether (explained later).
There are four possible encounters.
Normal encounter - Your party and enemies encounter each other normally.
Pre-emptive attack! - Your party ambushes enemy party. You have the advantage
of launching first attacks.
Ambushed! - Enemy party ambushes your party. You cannot act at all
during the first turn.
Danger! - Randomly selected chr must fight alone for three turns.
On fourth turn other three chrs arrive in battle fray.
---------------
ENCOUNTER GAUGE
---------------
Encounter gauge (ECNG for short) is displayed in top left of the screen. ECNG
helps you avoid the encounters you do not wish to fight. There are three
different colored ! that appear.
White ! - Your Migrant level (ML from now on) is compared to that of the
enemy. Press Circle and ECNG will be reduced by a specific
difference.
Red ! - Should ECNG become 0 or you fall into surprise battle, you will not
be able to cancel the encounter.
Green ! - When your ML is way higher than that of the enemy, you can press
Circle to cancel the battle. In addition to that, your ECNG is not
reduced!
IMPORTANT! When white or green colored ! appears, press Circle two times
quickly to immediately fall into the battle.
You can increase ML by collecting items called Migrant Seal. Each one nailed
raises your ML by 1 point. ECNG is raised by collecting Booster Kits. Each one
in your possession raises gauge's counter by 10 points. You can replenish ECNG
by spending night in an inn (full replenish), winning a battle (1 point
replenish), or by collecting white gems (replenish by 1/10 of the gauge).
------------------
ENCOUNTER COMMANDS
------------------
Encounter commands (ECO from now on) are entered at beginning of each turn.
Pressing Triangle brings out help message for any selected ECO.
1. GET READY - select to begin entering battle commands
2. FORMATION - adjust chr's position and turn order (refer to formation
menu heading for detailed explanation)*
3. MEDIUM - equip guardians, PS or Gears (refer to medium menu heading
for detailed explanation)
4. AUTO BATTLE - set ABM settings (refer to auto-battle menu heading for
detailed explanation)
5. SYSTEM - customize game's settings (refer to options menu heading for
detailed explanation)
* Beside RFX based turn order in battle, you're given the option of manual turn
order. For example, if you wish all enemies go before you, put Clive to be the
first to execute the command for current turn. Since Clive is the slowest of
the bunch, all enemies will go before him, followed by Clive and whatever order
you selected. Please note that manual turn order has to be inputted EACH TURN
SEPARATELY!
---------------
BATTLE COMMANDS
---------------
Battle commands (BCO from now on) are entered after you select Get Ready ECO.
Pressing Triangle brings out help message for any selected BCO. In addition, it
can also display each chr's status when it's that chr's turn.
1. SHOOT - attacks selected opponent with chr's ARM
- if amount of bullets remaining is 0, chr engages in melee
combat with selected opponent
- each ARM has set amount of bullets chr can use
- [bullets remaining / max bullets available] gauge is
visible above the chr's HP display window
- reload chr's ARM by selecting Guard
- increase amount of bullets chr can carry by upgrading
chr's ARM
2. GUARD - reduces amount of damage received for current turn
- reloads chr's ARM
3. ITEM - use items
4. FORCE ABILITY - use chr's special powers by using up Force points
(detailed explanation below)
5. ARCANA - use magic spells related to equipped mediums
- specific spell requires a set amount of Force points, but
it doesn't cause them to decrease
------------
FORCE POINTS
------------
Force points (FP from now on) are needed to perform more powerful actions, such
as Arcana and Force abilities. Numbers and bars at the bottom of the HP display
show FP for each chr.
FP increases as chrs attack enemies, or when enemies attack chrs. When blue bar
crosses 25% increments, 'FORCE LEVEL UP' message will be briefly displayed. FP
acquired in one battle do not carry over in next battle (exceptions are
expected, of course). Default FP depends on chr's level, so if Jet is level 30,
his FP gauge will start at 30 FP in each battle.
---------------
FORCE ABILITIES
---------------
Each chr has three Force abilities (FA from now on) he/she can choose from. Two
FA are available to all four chrs. Each chr also has a unique FA.
1. MYSTIC - Virginia's unique FA allows her to use items to affect
multiple targets, for example using Heal Berry to heal 300
HP for all party members instead of just one.*
2. ACCELERATOR - Jet's unique FA allows him to act first for current battle
turn, regardless of RFX of other members or enemies. It also
ignores DEF.*
3. LOCK ON - Clive's unique FA allows him to hit selected enemy with 100%
chance, adding in double damage as well.*
4. EXTENSION - Gallows' unique FA allows him to use spells which affect
multiple enemy targets / whole party, for example using
Shield on all party members instead of just one.*
5. GATLING - Use up current FP in certain multiplier to perform continous
Shoot attack. You must have enough FP to perform Gatling
with at least two attacks.
6. SUMMON - Use up current FP for summoning one of equipped mediums. All
FP are used up for one summon. Amount of FP expended relates
strength of the summon. Minimum FP requirement is 1.
* Unique FA can be activated with at least 25 FP remaining.
NOTE: All of the character specific special abilities take the damage after
spending the 25 FP (a 100 FP extension deals 175% damage on average).
------------------------------
ELEMENTS AND OPPOSING ELEMENTS
------------------------------
There are 9 elements you can find in this game.
1. EARTH and its opposing element WIND
2. WATER and its opposing element THUNDER
3. WIND and its opposing element EARTH
4. FIRE and its opposing element ICE
5. THUNDER and its opposing element WATER
6. ICE and its opposing element FIRE
7. LIGHT and its opposing element DARK
8. DARK and its opposing element LIGHT
9. NON-ELEMENTAL property has no opposing element
-----------------------------
NUMBERS THAT APPEAR IN BATTLE
-----------------------------
There are few types of coloured numbers that appear in course of battle. In
this heading I will tell you what each color represents.
1. WHITE NUMBER - this number indicates HP loss
2. GREEN NUMBER - this number indicates HP recovery
3. BLACK NUMBER - let's say Jet halves dark element damage... if he's hit
with dark element attack, black number will pop up telling
he suffered less damage than usual; same applies for
enemies... if you see black number when hitting the enemy
with a certain element, it means enemy halves the damage
from that element
4. RED NUMBERS - let's say Balloon is weak to light element... now hit it
with light element attack and red number will appear,
meaning Balloon suffered double damage from that attack
5. YELLOW NUMBER - yellow 0 appears on the target and something can (maybe)
be triggered (like using thunder skill on Thunder Drake)
In addition to those numbers, one more indicator can appear:
NO EFFECT! - this means that attacks of certain type will have no effect on
the target; Black Pudding enemy is immune to physical damage, ie
any physical attack you try on Black Pudding will cause NO
EFFECT! to appear on screen
---------------
INERTIA CANCEL?
---------------
An extremely useful feature, but must be used with caution. First requirement
that must be met is that chr has accumulated at least 25 FP on FP gauge. Then
whenever you input the commands for current turn and action is starting to take
place, 'CANCELLABLE' sign will appear below chr in question, with a green bar
decreasing to the left. If Circle button is pressed during this time, Inertia
Cancel is activated. Chr loses 25 FP from the gauge, but is instead granted an
opportunity to change his/her command for current turn. There is a PS called
Power Cancel, which reduces the cost for Inertia Cancel to zero - with this PS
activated you can now cancel commands regardless of how full FP gauge is.
--------------------
INCREASING FP GAUGE?
--------------------
You may wonder just for how much does FP gauge rise if certain actions are
performed in battle, be it you attacking the enemies or vice versa. Following
is the list of all actions in battle that make your FP gauge rise.
ACTION TYPE | FP ADDED
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Character performs physical attack against enemy* | 6 FP
Enemy performs physical attack against chr, which connects | 1 FP
Enemy performs physical attack against chr, which doesn't connect | 12 FP
Mini Carrot is used on chr | 25 FP
Full Carrot is used on chr | 100 FP
Enemy uses damage dealing Arcana on chr, which connects** | 1 FP
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* - Regardless of the fact if attack connects or not
** - To get FP bonus from this attack, chr mustn't have any element ward PS
activated.
Please note that if a chr is under misery status, *all* FP increases are locked
to 1.
-----------------------------------
HOW TO RECOGNIZE TYPE OF AN ATTACK?
-----------------------------------
This may not be so obvious, but there's a way of knowing what type of an attack
enemy is using against you. Is it physical, magical or something else?
SYMBOL (in attack's name) | TYPE OF ATTACK
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blue square-shape | Physical attack
Red diamond-shape | Can indicate Arcana attacks, but these cannot be
| used by your chrs (except thru Copy Ability); can
| indicate special occurences in battle (most often
| enemy skips the turn, like Critter's Best Smile);
| most of Arcana attacks of this nature cannot be
| reflected
White circle-shape | Arcana attacks, but these can be used normally by
| your chrs; Arcana attacks of this nature can be
| reflected
Green triangle | Force ability; Summon attack
--------------------------
NEGATIVE STATUS INDICATORS
--------------------------
Each time your party member is inflicted with bad status, an indicator will
appear around affected character. Here I'll explain those indicators.
INDICATOR | WHAT IT MEANS?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
? (question mark) | chr has been induced by amnesia status
+ (red cross) | chr has been induced by disease status
spring | chr has been induced by misery status
purple bubbles | chr has been induced by poison status
counter above head | chr has been induced by bronze countdown
black body | chr has been turned into bronze statue
red... circles | chr has been induced by confusion status
chr lying on floor | chr has been induced by fallen status
silver body | chr has been induced by glass status
high voltage sign | chr has been induced by paralysis status
ZZZZZ letters | chr has been induced by sleep status
body flashing red | chr has been induced by explosion status
For explanation of what do these statuses do, please check Character's
Condition heading found further down in this guide.
------------------
VICTORY OR DEFEAT?
------------------
1. VICTORY
- victory is determined when your party eliminates all opposing monsters
- depending on type and amount of monster/s destroyed you win gella, EXP and
maybe some items as well
- there are few storyline battles which you cannot win
2. DEFEAT
- your party is defeated if all of your chrs are fallen (their HP is reduced to
0) or have been turned into bronze
- if you are defeated, you can continue by using Gimel coin (in this case
battle resumes from start under normal conditions)
-----------------------------
EXPERIENCE AND MULTIPLYING IT
-----------------------------
After the end of battle EXP received is usually multiplied by 1 and distributed
among party members. But you can increase multiplier by equipping PS and having
these PS activate at certain points during battle. Each time PS activates
thanks to a certain trigger, EXP multiplier for that chr is raised by 0,1. I'll
give you two examples.
Example 1: Jet is equipped with 4* Fire Ward. He is fighting Tatzelwurm. Each
time Wurm uses Baking Breath (this is fire element attack), Jet won't take any
damage and '1 CHAIN' message along with skill activated will pop up in upper
left of the screen. EXP mult. has been raised by 0,1.
Example 2: Clive is equipped with 4* Total Ward (PS that guards against all
negative statuses). Late in the game you can encounter enemy called Creeping
Chaos. This guy has an attack called Arc-En-Ciel, which induces up to seven bad
statuses on all members. But Total Ward will prevent all of them. You will know
so by '7 CHAIN' message along with skills activated in upper left of the
screen. EXP mult. has been raised by whopping 0,7!
Please note that EXP multiplier can be raised as high as 9,9. It cannot go any
higher after that.
---------
ESCAPING?
---------
Normally you cannot escape from battle once it has initiated, but that doesn't
hold true forever. Once you acquire certain medium, Escape spell will be made
available. This is the only way to escape from battle. If you have already
defeated any enemies up until the point when your chrs escaped, you will
receive gella, EXP and (maybe) items for those defeated enemies.
----------------
TREASURE CHESTS?
----------------
Sometimes after battle a treasure chest monsters left behind will appear. You
have the option to open it or leave it as it is. Beware, such chests are booby-
trapped. Most often it's a bomb, but you can also expect abnormal status traps.
It's advised that you let chr with highest LCK attempt to open the chest*, as
such chr has a highest chance of disarming the trap. On the other hand, if
chest has poison trap, but all your chrs' luck is worst, have the chr with
Poison Ward PS attempt to open the chest. In both cases you get the goods with
chr unharmed.
1. Booby-trapped chest
- if successful, trap is disarmed and you get the goods
- if unsuccessful, two things can happen: chest explodes, in which case you
don't get anything nor receive any damage; or you trigger the trap, in which
case chr suffers 1/2 of current HP damage, but you get the goods
2. Misery-trapped chest
- if successful, trap is disarmed and you get the goods
- if unsuccessful, you receive misery status and get the goods
3. Poison-trapped chest
- if successful, trap is disarmed and you get the goods
- if unsuccessful, you receive poison status and get the goods
4. Energy-drain-trapped chest
- if successful, trap is disarmed and you get the goods
- if unsuccessful, following happens: let's say that Jet needs 100000 EXP to
reach next level; he already accrued 75000 EXP, meaning he has 25000 left to
go; if you now select Jet to open this chest and trap is triggered, it will
drain all EXP Jet accumulated so far for next level -> this means, that he must
now again accumulate all 100000 EXP needed for next level
5. Disease-trapped chest
- if successful, trap is disarmed and you get the goods
- if unsuccessful, you receive disease status and get the goods
6. Booby-trapped multi-hit chest:
- if successful, trap is disarmed and you get the goods
- if unsuccessful, two things can happen: chest explodes, in which case you
don't get anything nor receive any damage; or you trigger the trap, in which
case *all* chrs suffer 1/2 of current HP damage, but you get the goods
7. Amnesia-trapped chest
- if successful, trap is disarmed and you get the goods
- if unsuccessful, you receive amnesia status and get the goods
* If any of chrs was in sleep, bronze, paralysis, glass or fallen status at end
of battle, you won't be able to select that chr to attempt opening the chest.
IMPORTANT: Some people at Wild Arms 3 GameFAQs message board report a strange
bug which occurs involving these types of chests. Let's assume you defeated
enemy party of 4 Gobs. Your booty would be EXP, gella and 3x Gimel Coin. But
before you get all those goods, Gobs left behind booby-trapped chest.
If you decide not to open the chest, you will not get what's inside the chest,
BUT YOU WILL ALSO NOT GET THE ITEMS GOBS DROPPED, meaning you'll have to
forfeit those 3x Gimel Coin.
IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE EVERYTHING (THAT MEANS BOTH CONTENTS OF THE CHEST AND
ITEMS ENEMY MIGHT HAVE DROPPED), YOU'LL HAVE TO OPEN THE CHEST.
--------------
ANALYZE SCREEN
--------------
Analyze screen opens when you cast Analyze Arcana over one of your enemies.
Here I'll explain how it looks like and how to understand it. Going from top to
bottom...
1. NAME - Name of the monster you're fighting
2. HP - This has two numbers - first is monster's current HP, the
other monster's MAX HP; when current HP is depleted to 0,
monster is defeated
3. EXP - Amount of EXP you're awarded when monster is killed
4. GELLA - Amount of gella you're awarded when monster is killed
5. HALVED - Monster takes half damage from element attacks in this line
6. RESISTANT - Monster takes no damage from element attacks in this line
7. WEAKNESS - Monster takes double damage from element attacks in this line
8. ACTIVE - Monster is immune to damage from element attacks in this line
There's two types - one increases monster's ATT by x1,5
- one increases monster's ATT by x2
9. ABSORBED - Monster absorbs damage from element attacks in this line as HP
10. STATUS - There's quite a handful of symbols that appear down here; they
CHANGE will be discussed in greater detail two entries down
------------------
CHARACTER'S SCREEN

Whenever selecting BCO for chr currently up, press Triangle to bring up this
screen. Going from to to bottom:
1. NAME - Name of the character
2. STATS - Chr's stats, listed in order of ATT, DEF, MAG, MGR, RFX, EVA,
AIM and LCK
3. HALVED - Chr takes reduced damage from element attacks in this line
4. RESISTANT - Chr takes no damage from element attacks in this line
5. STATUS - There's quite a handful of symbols that appear down here; they
CHANGE will be discussed in next entry

Red person | N/A | Virgo's story-based condition
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* - It can either denote ATT x2 as the effect of Hyper, or ATT boost (based on
difference between MAX and current HP) as the effect of Valiant.
** - Have Virgo Mystic one of element rings onto target chr and his/her
physical attacks will gain that element affinity.
*** - Whatever action chr performs for current turn, it will be replayed at the
end of same turn (but same conditions must be met, otherwise it won't work the
way it should).
Note: In addition to these status change icons you also have negative status
icons. But I already explained those a bit back up.

IX) CHARACTER'S CONDITION
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
In this part of guide I shall discuss about abnormal statuses (AST from now on)
your chrs can be afflicted with. There's 11 bad statuses you can be annoyed

original level is by staying at an inn.
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
X) INNS AND SHOPS
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
----
INNS
----
Inns are one of the most nifty features. Whenever you spend a night in an inn,
all HP are recovered, as well as Material count, VIT gauge and Encounter gauge.
Additionaly all status effects are lifted.
Spending the night is accomplished by talking to the owner and selecting Stay.
Fee payed depends on party's level = all four members' LVL added together and
multiplied by 5 equals inn's price.
---------
ITEM SHOP
---------
Talking to Roykman will bring up three options: Buy, Sell, Chat.
1. BUY
Step 1 - Select this to bring up shop's wares display. In left half of the
screen items available for buying will be displayed. Those you
cannot buy (insufficient funds or you already hold 99 units of
particular item) will be greyed out.
Step 2 - In upper right your current gella will be displayed. I'll discuss
Total Cost a bit later.
Step 3 - In middle right you'll see two entries: Quantity (discussed below)
and Inventory. Number next to Inventory tells you how many units of
item you wish to buy you already possess.
Step 4 - Select the item you wish to buy (press Triangle to view item's
description). Number 1 will appear next to Quantity entry, and
cursor will move there as well. Item's cost for a single unit of
that item will appear next to Total Cost entry. You can increase or
decrease amount of item you wish to buy in increments of 1 by
pressing left/right dir. buttons, or in increments of 10 by pressing
up/down dir. buttons.
Step 5 - Once satisfied with the amount and cost, press X to complete the
purchase.
2. SELL
Step 1 - Select this to bring up your wares display. In left half of the
screen items available for selling will be displayed.
Step 2 - In upper right your current gella will be displayed. I'll discuss
Total Price a bit later.
Step 3 - In middle right you'll see two entries: Quantity (discussed below)
and Inventory. Number next to Inventory tells you how many units of
item you wish to buy you already possess.
Step 4 - Select the item you wish to sell (press Triangle to view item's
description). Number 1 will appear next to Quantity entry and cursor
will move there as well. Item's sell price for a single unit of this
item will appear next to Total Price entry. You can increase or
decrease amount of item you wish to sell in increments of 1 by
pressing left/right dir. buttons, or in increments of 10 by pressing
up/down dir. buttons.
Step 5 - Once satisfied with the amount and price, press X to complete the
procedure.

===============================================================================
XI) STARTING HINTS AND TIPS
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
1. Better save than sorry! Don't worry about Gimel Coins, they're not that hard
to obtain. I have the feeling that almost any regular monster can drop Gimel
Coins (I often get them from Gobs you encounter nearby Fallen Sanctuary). The
best time to save your game is right when you find Gimel Coins in tresure
chests. One more good reason for saving often: in many dungeons you may meet
more than one boss enemy. Sometimes you'll need to fight two bosses
consecutively!
2. Store away your Heal, Potion and Mega Berries! You cannot buy them anywhere
unless you work hard for it. For a good portion of the game you'll be stuck
with Heal Berries (and the rest of the gang) which you get from treasure chests
or defeated enemies. I recommend using Heal Berries with Virgo's Mystic FA or
Gal's Extension FA coupled with Heal.
Later in the game, when you have access to horses, you can jump a chasm near
Midland Station to find Secret Garden. Following Florina's advice clear nearby
dungeon and you will be able to raise the Berries and couple of other items.
Everything else is explained just a bit above.
3. When exploring the dungeons/cities, you will often cross ways with doors and
chests, which have been sealed by magic. The only way to open these is by using
Duplicators. Even some books are sealed by magic (new feature, eh?).
4. If you find some white gems in the dungeon and your ECNG is full, leave
those gems for later. Same would go for orange gems - if VIT gauge is full,
leave them for later.
5. Later in the game when your levels are over 40 already, it is useless to
fight enemies which give 1 EXP (Balloons and like). Just skip these fights -
you won't lose any points on ECNG.
6. Sometimes you may find a strange switch/feature in a dungeon and no matter
what you do, you cannot seem to activate it. If everything has indeed failed
(including dropping PS2 on the floor), there is only one explanation - you
don't possess the tool and/or item necessary to activate the feature in
question. Remember such places! You need to progress further in the story in
order to obtain that particular item. Only then will you be able to return and
solve the puzzle.
Example is in Gob's Hideout: On screen with not-so-sturdy floor across which
you need to sneak, you will see a ladder in one corner. No matter what you try,
Virgo won't be able to get there. Solution: You need Jet's Radical Sneakers,
obtained way later in the game. Once you have them, you will be able to get to
the ladder.
7. Every time you engage in boss battle, try to use Gella card on boss/es to
earn double amount of Gella. Using Gella cards on regular enemies is a waste,
cos they don't drop much cach anyway.
8. Roykman is interesting fella. If you ask yourself, why one time he's inside
Boot Hill, but the other time you enter Boot Hill, he ain't, the answer is...
(c/p-ed from one of the books)
Listed below is my travel route for this fiscal year. Little Rock, Baskar
Colony, Boot Hill, Humphrey's Peak, Claiborne, Ballack Rise... Jolly Roger,
Laxisland, Little Twister, and finally, Gunner's Heaven.
Please be advised that I may be travelling back and forth from the following
six locations: Baskar Colony, Boot Hill, Humphrey's Peak, Jolly Roger,
Laxisland and Gunner's Heaven.
9. Roychap again. Buy World Screen from him as soon as you can. Also buy as
much status recovery items as you can, but prioritize in Medicines, Antidotes,
Toy Hammers and Peppy Acorns. Almost every regular enemy has a status change
attack. Don't forget Call Whistles too!
10. Talk to people over and over. Try switching chrs and then talk to same
person again. Response may be different. After crucial storyline points most
people's responses change yet again. The purpose of this chat-hunt is to obtain
as much clues as possible and to help you understand the storyline better.
11. When you obtain the sandcraft, I suggest investing Dragon Fossils in the
best gun, Ark Smasher. 50 fossils may seem a lot, but what if I tell you that
you can get Dragon Fossils by defeating simplest of enemies like Balloons and
Gobs?
When Ark Smasher is installed and you engage in sandcraft battle, pass turns
until you have at least 25 FP (you automatically start the battle with 25 FP if
your Migrant level is 5). Then wait until it's gunner's turn. Now choose FA
'Fire all ammo at once'. 8 hits for a total of 250000+ damage will take care of
anything not-boss-floating in sandseas.
12. Whenever you encounter new enemy type, make sure you cast Analyze on it!
Doing this will enable you to track HP and elemental weaknesses for this and
any future battles. This comes in very handy, trust me.
13. Virgo's Mystic FA is extremely handy. If you use Lucky Card on say Jet,
only he gets double EXP. However, Lucky Card used via Mystic will award double
EXP for all four chrs. You just spared three Lucky Cards.
14. Gallows' Extension FA makes him worthy of equipping Schturdark or Grudiev
mediums - latter has Shield and Protect, former Heal. Since Berry items are
scarce to come by, having chr capable of healing all chrs at once is better
than having one chr spend four turns healing one chr per turn. Need I mention
usefulness of having all party members Shielded or Protected at once?
15. Almost *every enemy* in the game will drop element gems if defeated with
that element. Same holds true for most bosses.
16. There is a great Arcana ability which you can get late in the game. That is
COPY ABILITY, which costs 64 FP to be used. It lets you acquire enemy skills
for your use! It only lasts for current battle, tho'. Enemy abilities which
you're able to copy, will be marked as:
Name of enemy ability (COPY, ?? FP*) - description of the attack
* Some enemy abilities require certain amount of FP to be cast.
17. FP IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! 0 FP compared to 100 FP is double the damage and
half the damage received. Damage dealt increases at 1+FP/100. Damage received
decreases at 100/(FP+100). This means that the first 25-50 FP is making a big
difference on defense especially.
18. Miss B. world encounter guide
#1 - Claiborne. Enter the horse stables and make your way to a fenced off area
near this house in which chickens live. Rotate the camera so compass needle is
pointing to SW corner of the screen. You'll see Miss B a bit left of the two
vegetable fields (or whatever the hell they're growing there).
#2 - Little Twister. Stand near the boxes between "Honey of Roses" and the
house in which you have to fiddle with the handle that eventually gives you
access to ARMs maestro and Black Market. Rotate the camera so compass needle is
pointing to NE corner of the screen. You'll see Miss B standing a bit to the
right of "Honey of Roses".
#3 - Humphrey's Peak. Descend down the stairs leading off the bridge, and then
poke around *under* the bridge towards N to find hidden passage leading you to
Uncle Gob. As you reach the end of the passage... look, it's Miss B! Just near
the Memory Figure...
#4 - Gunner's Heaven. As you enter, pass the first room and continue on into
the next room, where battles are held. Here go into NW corner of the room, then
rotate the camera so compass needle is pointing to NE corner of the screen.
Miss B can be seen on the balcony where Pegucci's seat is.
#5 - Jolly Roger. Enter "Bell Starr" and make your way to the balcony above the
house in SE corner of the town. Rotate the camera so compass needle is pointing
to E corner of the screen. Look - there's Miss B! Just a bit right of the
entrance to "Bell Starr".
#6 - Boot Hill. Go into Virgo's house and enter the balcony. Rotate the camera
so compass needle is pointing to SW corner of the screen. You'll see Miss B
between the tree and a shack.
#7 - Laxisland. As you enter, go forward until you see Memory Figure in front
of "The Last Seven Days" inn. Go right from Memory Figure and stand near closed
well. Where there are four wooden crates on the other side of the fence,
there's also Miss B.

XII) WALKTHROUGH
===============================================================================
===============================================================================
Note: Since I was hurrying to get the walkthrough done ASAP, I am missing many
item drops, boss' HP, gella, EXP, element properties and the like. You also
won't find much on a boss strategies. I tend to write those later.
Here's how I tend to write the walkthru.
1. Mission number and short name (made that up).
2. Then everything you need to do to trigger the mission, like who you need to
talk to, or maybe you need to search for a certain item etc.
3. When dungeon is near, I will list vital information about it, like enemies
you encounter, items you can get, amount of chests, total amount of chests and
party's average level at which I was able to beat this dungeon.
4. Following that is detailed guide for navigating the dungeon and getting
everything that isn't nailed down (stealing what was already stolen... is that
bad?). Number of rooms you will see denote floors as given when you activate
Tracker item (obtained later in the game).
Note: All rooms are explained with cursor pointer showing north, so bear that
in mind.
5. When boss is up, you'll know so by BOSS BATTLE heading. Displayed will be
its HP, EXP, gella, element properties and items it may drop, followed by
boss' attacks and detailed strategy for boss.
6. You will need to revisit some dungeons later in the game to complete other
objectives, or just to get access to the chest you couldn't get to before. In
such an event I will list dungeon's vital info again.
7. Notes marked with !!!!!! or ?????? are just parts I need to rewrite or look
into.
I will use following markers for these parts of walkthrough:
::::: <--- this means that new mission has been made available
+++++ <--- this denotes vital stats about the dungeon or town
----- <--- this denotes boss sections
***** <--- this denotes that one mission has ended and another is on the way
Let us get this show on the road! First you need to complete the prologue. Once
you're at chr selection screen, choose Virgo, as hers is the easiest.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
MISSION #M01 - RECLAIM THE GOODS
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Her introductory sequence will roll. After initial 'robbery', Virgo will be:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D01 - GOB'S HIDEOUT [X:15690, Y:24620]
Enemies: Gob, Hobgob Boss (BOSS)
Items: 1x Revive Fruit, Tindercrest, 1x Heal Berry, 1x Heal Berry, 1x Mini
Carrot, 1x Heal Berry, 400 Gella, 1x Gimel Coin, 1x Duplicator, Right Half, 1x
Potion Berry
Amount of chests: 8
Total amount of chests: 11 (8 now, 3 later in the game)
Party's average level: 4
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Check your inventory. It contains 10 Heal Berries and 10 Gimel Coins. Use Berry
type items wisely. You can't buy them for a good portion of the game.
F13: Approach the door in SW corner and examine it. You'll get clued in on
using the devices, tools and such. There's a lever in SE corner. Activate it
with X and door opens.
F11: Battle time! If you need to revise how to battle, check Battle System part
of my guide above. These two guys go down with one or two hits each. They also
tend to miss a lot, so rip away. After victory, climb the steps and enter N
door.
F12: Throw the crates wherever (one contains 1x REVIVE FRUIT), get TINDERCREST
tool from the chest, read four books by examining the shelves. Return to F11.
F11: Notice how one of torches next to W door is unlit? Throw a crest to light
it up and to unlock the door.
F10: You can't get the chest just yet. Climb N stairs and exit thru W door.
F9: In SE corner is a hint about sneaking. Press Circle to sneak over the room
and exit thru W door. Ladder in NW corner is out of the question for now. Wait
until chapter 3.
F8: Proceed thru the hallway. Ignore W door for now (chapter 3 again) and exit
thru E door at the end of hallway.
F3: You're now at upper level. Go S from where you enter and use Tindercrest on
the torch to open up NW door on upper level. Enter it.
F7: Chest contains 1x HEAL BERRY. Check the mirror... Aside from another book
there's nothing else, so return to F3.
F3: Go E past two more doors in NE corner (one leads N, other E). Continue
until the end of catwalk, where you use Tindercrest on another torch. NE door,
leading N, will now open.
F6: Chest has 1x HEAL BERRY. Read the book and remember Stone Wolf term. Return
to F3.
F3: Exit thru NE door, leading E.
F5: Go down the stairs, passing N door. Hit the switch at end of stairs to open
N door. Enter it.
F10: You can now loot the chest for 1x MINI CARROT. Return to F5.
F5: There's another W door near base of stairs, which you should enter.
F3: You're now on lower level. Magically sealed door to your S can't be
tampered with yet. Stand near handle just to the right on N doors, press X and
rotate left stick to open N door.
F4: Chests in SE corner have 1x HEAL BERRY and 400 GELLA. NE chest has 1x GIMEL
COIN. NW chest has 1x DUPLICATOR (1st) and RIGHT HALF. Return to F3.
F3: Approach S door, enter Item menu, select Duplicator (first used) and
confirm. When door disappears, you can enter.
F2: Now's the time to save your game! Then simply waltz S.
F1: Boss of the gang enters...

As this is the start of game, don't expect the boss to be a pushover. It may

(15 HP or less), use Heal Berry. When boss goes down for the first time (after
4 to 5 hits), it'll jump back on its feet. It'll take Gatling to finish it off.
Virgo's FP are automatically built up to full gauge! Use Gatling right away
(you don't need to reload). This will kill Hobgob Boss for good. Please note
that you can't defeat it by normal attacks, you *must* use Gatling.

MISSION #M02 - FIND THE CRYSTAL FLOWER

DUNGEON #D02 - DOOMED TO OBSCURITY [X:23971, Y:16137]
Enemies: Ascomid, Tatzelwurm (BOSS)
Items: 1x Heal Berry, 600 gella, 1x Mini Carrot, 1x Heal Berry, 1x Gimel Coin,
2x Revive Fruit, 1x Dragon Fossil
Amount of chests: 6
Total amount of chests: 7 (6 now, 1 later in the game)
Party's average level: 5
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
F1: Yeah, the outside of dungeon counts as Floor 1. When you have control of
Jet, check the door. It's locked... figures, eh? If Jet's a treasure hunter,
isn't one of their skills supposed to be lockpicking? Anyway, make your way
around the pyramid, climbing stairs and dropping off ledges until you make it
to the top. Destroy the fence here with Boomerang, then enter the hole.
F2: You'll see another chest infront, but can't do a thing to reach it now.
Walk towards it and you'll fall thru the floor.
F3: Examine the engraving to learn about rotating camera angle. Climb small set
of stairs to E. Drop down by falling off ledge. Now go S up another stairs.
Drop down to lower level. Inside chest you'll find 1x HEAL BERRY. Proceed up
the stair sets up N. You'll notice a sphere shaped switch in NW corner. It
seems out of reach. You'll see that a ledge branches off far enough for you to
stay in line and on same level as the switch. Throw the boomerang to activate
it. This will cause a wall in NE corner to lower, granting you access to NE
exit. On the way loot the chest for 600 GELLA.
F4: Dash down the corridor! Doing so will let you avoid being spiked. Spikes
can be destroyed with 3 boomerangs. Locate and exit thru door in SW corner.
F5: Again dash. This time door leading E is to be taken.
F6: After the sequence check the stone coffin, then exit thru door leading E.
F7: This is getting repetitive. Dash down the corridor to access NW door.
F8: Ah, a little variety. Be careful of strange square shapes on bottom floor,
they contain spikes. While still on upper level, grab onto S net and work your
way W as far as you can. Once you can't go any further, press Circle to drop
off to middle level. Chest has 1x MINI CARROT. Drop off to bottom level and
make your way to E (be sure not to step on any spikes!), where you'll see a
ladder to top level. Cling onto S net again, but this time drop off about
halfway thru on big elevation in middle of the room. From here you can cling
onto N net. Now progress to W and drop off at the end. Exit thru NW door.
F9: Down the hall we go. Exit thru SE door.
F10: Not a problem right? Cling onto SE net first. When at edge of net, press X
to hoist yourself up. Now repeat the process until you reach net on top. Here
claim 1x HEAL BERRY from a chest. Now make sure you drop down as far E as you
can, so that you land on an elevation leading to E door.
F11: Dash down the... eh, you know the drill. Exit is in NW corner.
F12: Careful. Dash is needed again - you must go thru the middle. If you prefer
rampage, spears can be destroyed with three boomerangs. Chests here contain 1x
GIMEL COIN and 2x REVIVE FRUIT. Save your game! Proceed N.
F13: Unwillingly you found the lost boy (was Crystal Flower taken by Maya?).
Fortunately, you found next boss...

Boss starts out with Heave, and then alternates between Baking Breath and
Heave. Avoiding being hit by Heave seems to happen pretty often. Baking Breath
damage can be reduced by guarding. I suggest attacking for Heave round and
guarding for Baking Breath round. If you get down on 40 HP, use Heal Berry.
Once you knock off all of its health, it'll use Recovery on next turn. This
time you'll need to use Accelerator to act before boss does. Build up your FP
to 25 (don't worry, you don't get attacked anymore), and then select
Accelerator. Boss waves bye! Please note that you have to use Accelerator in
order to defeat this boss.

F13: Talk to Pike (or not) and then try climbing stairs. After the sequence
exit thru W door.
F14: Cling on NW net first. Hoist yourself up. Cling onto SW net and hoist up.
Jump down onto another SW net. From this one jump down to S net. Cling onto E
net and hoist up. Finally cling onto SE net and hoist up. Climb the ladder
you'll find here.
F15: Bunch'o'nets and two switches. Cling onto NE net and hoist up. Cling onto
NW net and hoist up. From here cling onto next NW net. Get to the end of this
net and drop down on W net. On this net walk E a bit and boomerang E switch to
have another net lowered just above you. Cling onto it and hoist up. From here
you can boomerang W switch. Another net will lower. Cling on it, hoist up and
climb the ladder in SE corner.
F16: Just go thru hallway until you reach S door. Press X to examine it.

Amount of chests: None
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Return to the house you exited. Near the beds upstairs examine the barrel for
1x REVIVE FRUIT. You can sleep for free here. In most W house you can examine a
barrel for 1x HEAL BERRY. In E house examine barrel for 1x HEAL BERRY. Talk to
Ellen and tell her you want to run away. She'll give you 5x HEAL BERRY and 3x
GIMEL COIN. There's nothing of interest in NE house. You need to visit the
altar - go thru the cave in N of the village. Run into the pole to the left of
cave's entrance for 1x POTION BERRY (contributed by Josef M.). After the
sequence talk to Granny to learn about FALLEN SANCTUARY, located SOUTH FROM
BASKAR COLONY. Before you leave, make sure you talk to Cordell to learn about
search system. Finally you're set and can go exploring.
From village go W, then take a curve until you go E. Don't enter the desert
yet. Fight Balloons a bit to gain few levels. They don't attack much (they pass
turns with Sinister Stare and Painful Infection does laugh damage) and may drop
Heal Berries. In a round part of mountains to your S press Square to have
Fallen Sanctuary reveal itself.

DUNGEON #D03 - FALLEN SANCTUARY [X:12985, Y:8509]
Enemies: Pillbug, Kesaran Pasaran (BOSS)
Items: 1x Heal Berry, Freezer Doll, 1x Gimel Coin, Ark Scepter
Amount of chests: 3
Total amount of chests: 6 (3 now, 3 later in the game)
Party's average level: 5
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
F1: Go N, drop down and examine the lever. Stairs leading back to entrance will
rise. Climbing huge stairs in the middle is useless for now, but check it out
anyway.
F2: Remember this place, for you'll return here quite often. Go back.
F1: Proceed thru N exit in the back.
F3: Walk N until you get to a block. Stand on block's S side and press X to
grab it. Push up to move it N until it lands on a pressure panel (type of panel
which must have sth on it to remain active). N door opens.
F4: Before going further N, take E door.
F5: Check all chests for 1x HEAL BERRY, FREEZER DOLL tool and 1x GIMEL COIN.
When done, return to F4.
F4: Proceed N. You'll reach a door leading W, but it's shut. However, torch
nearby emanates blue flame. Shut it off with Freezer Doll.
F6: Walk down the corridor until you reach S door.
F7: Stand in middle of the room, use Freezer Doll and do a full circle. Once
all blue flames are extinguished, exit thru E door.
F8: Another straightaway. Exit thru E door.
F9: Nothing special... exit thru N door.
F10: Push blue block three times W, one time S. Doing so will lower touch panel
(type of panel which must be stepped on to remain active). Once it's down, step
on it to raise W door.
F11: When waltzing down the corridor, there isn't a thing you can do about
pressure panel. Return here later in the game. Exit thru N door to floor 13.
F13: Straight away N we go!
F14: Repetitive, aren't we? Stand in middle of torch ring, activate Freezer
Doll and make a full circle. Save your game! Exit thru N door.
F15: Ark Scepter, here I come! Huh...?

3. Throws a cordon - if two or less Kesarans remain, one will divide into three
more Kesarans
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TACTICS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Funny little guys these are. Cast Analyze first. They're weak to water. Chances
are very high that you won't get attacked, as Kesarans love to pass turns
Issuing Warning. Kill two Kesarans - by doing so you'll force one of remaining
ones to split. Now you'll need to use Extension Pressure to kill all of them at
once. If your FP gauge isn't at least 25, you'll need to build it up a bit.
Killing whole lot of them for EXP, gella and items is a waste of time. You get
48 EXP, 52 gella and maybe some items no matter how many you wasted. Please
note that the only way to win the battle is using Extension Pressure (or
Refrigerate, but your MAG may not be high enough to kill them all).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the battle you'll obtain ARK SCEPTER. Time to go back...
F13: You'll be trapped in a forcefield. After convo is over, open Item menu and
select Ark Scepter. Then talk to Shane.
THIS MISSION IS NOW ACCOMPLISHED!!!
Now is the time to save the game. On chr selection screen pick Clive, the only
one that remains.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
After short talk about what to protect and not to protect enter...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D04 - DEN OF MIASMA [X:11955, Y:16939]
Enemies: Barghest, Goldrake (BOSS)
Items: 3x Heal Berry, 1x Heal Berry, 2x Revive Fruit, 1x Gimel Coin, 300 gella,
1x Heal Berry, 1x Potion Berry, 1x Antidote, 1x Antidote
Amount of chests: 5
Total amount of chests: 5 (you can get all of them now)
Party's average level: 7
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
F1: Talk to Borgnine three times to obtain 3x HEAL BERRY. At N end you'll find
a hole leading E.
F2: You're on bottom level. Make your way E and exit thru E hole.
F3: Chest next to you has 1x HEAL BERRY. Go N. Hmmm, no exit? But there's a
cracked wall to your W. Place a bomb next to this wall. When it blows up, W
exit will reveal itself.
F4: You're on bottom level. Go S first and exit thru S hole.
F2: You're on top level. Blow up red goo, but since it comes back, it may be
good to avoid it. Chest contains 2x REVIVE FRUIT. Return to F4.
F4: Go N. Blow up small rocks with bombs and exit thru hole in NE corner.
F5: Carefully navigate your way across the chasm until you reach N hole.
F6: Take a curve. You'll see some blue goo on the floor. Bomb it away, but
don't step too close or you'll take damage (approximately 1/20 of current HP).
After they're killed, you will reach another hole, leading S.
F5: You've been here before, but now you're on upper level. Carefully make your
way across. At the end is a hole leading W.
F4: You're on middle level now. Don't drop down, or you'll have to go around
(or drop in the water to reappear where you entered the room). Make your way
over it, blowing up some blue goo on the way. At far S end of this level chest
with 1x GIMEL COIN can be nailed. Retrack a bit and take W hole.
F7: Up north blow up some small rocks, continued with blue goo barrage.
Immediately S from where you entered floor 7 is cracked wall. Blow that one up
as well. Enter the hole.
F8: In two chests you can find 300 GELLA and 1x HEAL BERRY. Remember this red
sphere for later. Return to F7.
F7: Another hole leading W can be found at N end of this tunnel.
F8: Go N. Floor behind you will collapse, cutting off your retreat.

Clive's starting HP should be more than enough to sustain few attacks from boss
(Bite Strike takes off about 25 HP). As battle starts, keep attacking. After
four, maybe five hits boss will take to the air. You'll now need to use Lock On
to efficiently hit it. If your FP gauge still isn't 25, build it up. Then use
Lock On and with first hit boss goes down. Or does it...?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
F8: You'll wake up after a while. You're poisoned, so it's best to make your
way out of Den ASAP. There's a crack in E wall. Blow it up.
F9: Bomb blue goo only - red comes back after a while. Stock on white gems to
increase ECNG. This is one of rare times when it's wise not to fight. After you
pass goo obstacle, a huge rock will block your path S. Lay 8 bombs near the
rock to blow it up.
F4: You're on top level. To your W are two white gems. Don't bother with E
ones, not worth the time and HP. Drop down to middle level, then hike S past
blue goos you destroyed before and past the chest. Here drop down to bottom
level. Exit thru S hole immediately.
F2: You're on top, but drop down to bottom level. Head W thru the hole. You
made it!
You'll wake up in a village (name is a spoiler right now)... after convo is

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TACTICS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Have everyone defend for the first turn! Janus will use Multiblast, an attack
which will affect all chrs. You'll be taught about Mystic effect. Don't forget
that Gal can heal your party as well, as he still possesses Aqua Wisp medium.
Since Virgo is almost certainly pretty weak for you, I'd say that the best
thing to do is have her defend for whole battle. In case her FP gets high
enough to use Mystic, by all means do so. Have Jet and Clive be the attackers,
with Gal being assigned as the healer. The quickest way to end the battle would
be to go after Janus only... but he gets healed. So you need to make Dario and
Romero crap their pants.
Dario hits harder, so get rid of him first, followed by Romero and finally
Janus. Multiblast is used only on first Janus' turn.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS MISSION IS NOW ACCOMPLISHED!!!
Team will now join forces for some time. You'll find yourself on the world map,
not too far away from Baskar Colony. Head NW past the Fallen Sanctuary, then
take the right curve and you'll end up in Baskar Colony. Listen to a rather
long dialogue to be entrusted a new mission.

Head over to Gal's house to talk to Halle. She'll give you a clue on order of

teach you about how do elements oppose each other. You will see Roykman in here
as well. Among status-lifting items he sells 5000-gella-worth World Screen. In
any case, don't buy anything yet! Getting World Screen first is important. Head
for Fallen Sanctuary now.
