If you need to find something quickly, press and hold CTRL (Control), then
press F button. This will bring up 'Find and Replace' box. In it type the
word you're looking for and you should be taken to it immediately. This is
much faster than scrolling thru entire guide.
For your convenience I've inserted special search codes near every section to
help you easily hop on to that section by using search code provided. Each
search code will appear only twice in whole guide - thus getting stray hits
will be impossible.

# Polishing the guide.
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
04.) INTRODUCTION - G0400
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
Hello! I am Damir Kolar and I welcome you to my new project. After completing
FFX-2 one time too many it was time for me to take a break from that game. But
wouldn't you know it - on Monday, 3rd May 2004, Xenosaga: Episode I arrived in
my inbox. About half an hour before I'd leave for work. I quickly inserted the
DVD in my PS2 and watched the opening sequence along with the intro in some
hardcore battle. "Great game!", I thought, as I was departing for work...
Now, 8 days later, game stands completed on my finished games pile. But with
one difference - I've decided that I'll make a complete walkthrough for the
game. But not only for this one, for all upcoming episodes as well.
Now allow me to address some things:
- Not only will I provide written guidelines, you'll also be able to *see*
what I'll be referring to, thus ensuring minimal-to-none confusion. What do
I mean by seeing? I'll be taking pics of anything I deem important enough to
be showed on visual representation. I'll upload them on webspace for you to
view and successfully complete the task at hand. No more confusing ways of
navigating the dungeon or looking for particular item.
- If you take a quick scan thru my guide, you won't find the explanations for
battle system, main menu, saving / loading, etcetera. Ever since I made one
for my last guide, I'd find myself fixing something quite often in that
section. Besides, game manual and in-game tutorials do perfect job of
explaining the battle system. As for main menu and selections within,
everything is covered nicely - in case you can't do something (like put LOW
speed Tech attack into HI slot), explanation follows at the bottom of the
screen telling you why you can't do whatever is it you're trying to perform.
- Spoiler issue. I'm a player of the game, just like you (who is reading this
guide) are. First time I've played through the game was completely by
myself - I haven't been using any guides, therefore nothing was spoiled for
me. All the story elements that were supposed to surprise me had such
effect. And I will NOT spoil such story elements for you.
- With that in mind, this is the way this guide is written. To include as
little spoilers as possible. Let me ask you this: Say you meet character X
very early in the game and he proves to be a friend. Now, you're close to
the end of the game and you open a guide to find some help you need. You
accidentally 'trip' over final boss entry where it clearly says - BOSS
battle: Character X. Now if this doesn't cause you to go ballistic, I don't
know what will. I know the feeling cos I've had the displeasure of running
into few such accidents.
- Have a problem with that or how I 'mask' spoilers? My guide is not the only
one out there, you know. I'm not forcing you to use mine, but if you use
others, then you better be prepared for lots of potential spoilers, which
will ruin the element of surprise for you. Also, people that have problems
with how I write my guide are in great minority.
- Usage of abbreviations. When you're in my place writing a guide for the
game of such proportions, then complain about using too many abbreviations.
You have no idea how immensely helpful abbreviations are for me when
writing a guide. Besides, you will only need to look it up once or twice
(maybe thrice) before it becomes second nature.
Are you ready? Power up your PS2, open the disc tray, pop in Xenosaga: E1 DVD,
close the disc tray, wait for Start Menu, then select New Game. May the saga
begin...

06.) TIPS AND TRICKS - G0600
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
I. Characters have nine basic attributes.
HP - Amount of hit points. If this figure is zero, chr becomes KO-ed.
EP - Ether power. If this figure is zero, chr can't use Ether attacks.
STR - Strength. Affects the amount of physical damage chr does.
VIT - Vitality. Affects the amount of physical damage chr receives.
EATK - Ether Attack. Affects the power of chr's ether attacks.
EDEF - Ether Defense. Affects the amount of ether damage chr receives.
DEX - Dexterity. Affects the accuracy of chr's attacks.
EVA - Evasion. Affects chr's ability to dodge enemy's attacks.
AGL - Agility. Affects chr's initiative at battle start and how often
can that chr attack.
II. There's four types of points you receive after battle.
EXP - Experience points. Once chr accumulates predetermined amount of
EXP, chr will level up.
TPTS - Tech Points. Used to beef up chr's attributes, or to power up
tech attacks.
EPTS - Ether Points. Used to evolve chr's Ethers, or to transfer already
learned Ethers to other chrs. Not all Ethers can be transfered.
SPTS - Skill Points. Used to extract skills from acc.
III. As far as money accumulation goes, money is scarce. Your biggest money
income will very likely be poker and slots minigames, so learn them
well. There are also few emails which will give you money, but do not
count on them - there's a *few* of them.
IV. Enemies belong to three types.
B - Biological enemies. These are mostly human type enemies; there's
some more enemies that belong to this type, but revealing who they
are is a spoiler.
M - Mech enemies. These are mostly robotic enemies.
G - Gnosis enemies. Alien type enemies. But just who are they? You'll
have to find that on your own.
V. When improving Tech attacks, your first investment should go into
changing TATK's speed to HI. Doing so will allow you to use TATK with
just four AP. Then invest TPTS into Wait attribute of TATK.
VI. When using EPTS, it's a wise idea to transfer healing Ethers to all chrs
you'll be using in battles. That way you won't have to rely on a single
chr doing all the healing duty.
VII. You don't have to fight every single enemy you see. It may very well be
possible to sneak behind it, thus not letting the enemy even spot you.
Also, you may occassionally come across three canisters, which when
blown up, provide a bonus:
Red canister: Field - Stop / Battle - BG +1
Yellow canister: Field - Slow / Battle - Critical+
Purple canister: Field - Stop / Battle - Skill Lock
Also, once you win the battle (or you've escaped), onscreen chr will
flash briefly - during this time you will not enter any battles. Use
this chance to quickly advance into a safe area.
VIII. Three things people often overlook:
- Pressing START during some of Ether or attack animations will skip
that scene entirely.
- You can advance thru storybased sequences by pressing START, then
TRIANGLE.
- Pressing START, SELECT, R1 & L1 at the same time will do soft reset.
IX. Here's some information concerning chrs' attacks.
a) There are five elemental attributes in XS: E1. They are:
- FIRE element attribute
- ICE element attribute
- LIGHTNING element attribute
- SPIRIT element attribute
- BEAM element attribute
b) Along with elemental attributes of chrs' attacks, many of them also
have other characteristics, which are:
- SLASH attack attribute
- HIT attack attribute
- PIERCE attack attribute
- LINE attack attribute
- STATUS attack attribute
c) That's still not everything. You also have:
- NEAR attack attribute (chr must be close to the enemy)
- FAR attack attribute (chr doesn't have to be close to the enemy)
- AIR attack attribute (chr doesn't have to be close to the enemy)
X. Always talk with everybody you see. Keep talking to them until they
respond with same text, meaning they don't have anything left to say.
After some major plot advance there's a possibility people have new
information and tips, making trips back to where you were worthwhile.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
------------------------------ A - STATUS BASICS ----------------------------
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
1. By looking at the above mini-TOC you see that there's indeed many statuses
you can have fun with in XS: E1.
2. After noting down each status, here's the final matchup - 35 negative VS
21 positive statuses. During your trip you're sure to come across at least
2/3 of this list, and if in certain tight spot you don't know what status
is for, you might be screwed royally.
3. So you've been affected by a certain status, but don't know what it was?
There's two ways to tell what your chrs have fallen under.
- visual representation of status in effect (poisoned chr will have green
cloud of smoke above chr's head)
- when it's that chr's turn and if you have control over the chr, enter
chr's submenu - status will be displayed in upper left corner
4. Most of NEGSE can be prevented from occuring by equipping acc with
relevant anti-skill or having Status Lock casted (note that this also shuts
out POSSE). If however, you still get caught by surprise and chr has been
granted NEGSE, you can cure that status in many ways: by Ethers which lift
statuses, or status-lifting item made esp for that situation. In dire
situation, you could KO the chr and then revive that chr - any status will
be gone.
5. Most of POSSE is beneficial to you, so you should keep in mind to always
be in at least one POSSE to ensure easy victories. With that said, don't
expect enemies to just let you become super-powerful. They have and will
use any means necessary to negate the effects of POSSE.
6. Some of POSSE come as AAB on armors and acc, so make sure you equip those.
You may also wish to employ some of Ethers which grant POSSE when casted
(for example Best Ally, which grants all battling chrs auto-revival when
killed). Last way to get into beneficial status is thru items.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
------------------- B - STATUS CHART OVERVIEW / EXPLANATION -----------------
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Before I dig into explaining statuses, a nicely laid out chart is necessary.
It will show how I intend to outline the info one needs to know on certain
status effect.
CHART OVERVIEW
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. NAME? | TIME/HIT?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. It does...?
3. Icon feature?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHART EXPLANATION
1. Name of the status, followed by one piece of info:
- Adresses the issue if status is lifted automatically after some time
has elapsed and / or if status is lifted if target is hit by PATK.*
* - 'Time' means status is lifted automatically after some time elapses.
'Hit' means status is lifted if target is hit by PATK.
'Both' means that status is lifted if either some time elapses or
target is hit by PATK. 'None' means that status cannot be cured by
time-lapse or hitting target with PATK.
2. What does status in question really do.
3. If no visual feature of status being in effect is given, icon feature is
presented *for sure* and will clear any doubts.

ENEMIES
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Drone G3 | Drone G2 | Drone G1
Drone M | Drone F | Attack Drone
Drone SPX (sub-BOSS) | Drone GX (BOSS)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
After initial scene is over, you will have control over Shion. Move her close
to Kosmos and talk to her. You will be given four options. For now I suggest
you select: [Normal Attacks], [Tech Attacks] and [Sub-menus], in that order.
After your selection is made, touch the yellow soldier in the back and battle
commences. Tutorial will explain basics of the battle - so read 'em and
memorize 'em. Because the enemies don't attack, it may be a good idea to stock
up on some EXP and three types of PTS you need for improving your chrs.
When you feel you're ready, talk to Kosmos again and choose [Switch to Real
Combat]. You will enter a battle against Drone M, Drone F and Attack Drone. I
suggest killing Drone F first, cos it can attack all chrs at once. Then smite
down all Drone M's HP, followed by Attack Drone. Congratulations, you've
completed the first 'serious' challenge. A scene will kick in, so watch it.
Shion will explain what Kosmos' objective is. After being briefed choose first
option to proceed. Now then - at the first screen you'll see two Attack Drones
roaming about. Go kill them for some much needed EXP and PTS. There's a ladder
in SW part of this screen you can climb. When you reach the top, you'll see a
human enemy inside the room with two destroyable objects. Shoot red can first
(with SQUARE button - this will use so-called Vaporizer, which can be used to
clear the obstacles outta your way or reveal hidden passages), then blow up
the door and run inside. Kill off all enemies using boosts. Then open the
chest for 2x MED KIT S.
Climb back down and examine the wrecked car, which is close to yellow
canister. Blow up both of them. E of the car is a set of stairs you can climb
- you'll reach another door - blow them up and walk inside for MED KIT. Item
collecting is done here, so go N and thru the open garage door to enter the
big building.
Once inside, walk forward and engage in next battle. You will see a door...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE103.jpg
Eh, we can't enter yet. You need Mission Key SI, which is not very far.
Anyway, climb the stairs on E side of the room and stroll along the catwalk.
On your way you'll run into another human enemy, which can be easily disposed
of. If possible, blow red can near it allowing you to start the battle with BG
+1 bonus. Now near that red can is a path branching to the S. Blow up the box
blocking your way and walk outside - at the end of the path is a box
containing REVIVE. Now go back inside, destroy the box again, but this time go
left at the cross and thru another door...
TIP: If you wish, you can abuse the red can here and continuously lure the
nearby enemy after you - wait until it gets close, then blow up red can and
repeat. I'd recommend reaching LV3 with this tiny trick.
WARNING! Before advancing any further, enter the menu and heal both girls' HP
and EP to max - you're about to enter a sub-boss battle! When done, follow the
one-way path, go up the stairs and...

-------------------------------- SPECIAL NOTE/S -----------------------------

----------------------------------- ATTACKS ---------------------------------
1. Handgun Triple Shot P - VS one chr - piercing phd
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
Looks intimidating? Fear not, there are a couple of factors working in your
favor, making it almost impossible to lose this battle. As the battle fury
commences, Shion boards her AGWS automatically. Short tutorial will explain
that. When it's Kosmos' turn, have her guard to achieve 6 AP for next turn.
Now Shion will most likely get another turn (SPX' AGL is only 5, in comparison
to Shion's 8 and Kosmos' 7) - another tutorial will issue explaining AGWS
commands - memorize them! Also have Shion defend for first turn.
About now SPX gets an attack in. It'll use Triple Shot to hit either Shion or
Kosmos, but it doesn't really matter. It does about 5 damage to AGWS Shion is
in or 15 damage tops to Kosmos (both gals are still guarding). Now let's tear
SPX apart - Shion uses Square attack twice, leaving SPX hanging with about 50
HP remaining, or quite possibly killing it already. If by any chance SPX
survives, it won't survive Kosmos cannonade - Blaster twice, finishing by
Rcannon. If possible and you can afford it, try killing SPX when ESL is
showing point bonus.
************************** VICTORY! CONGRATULATIONS! ************************
After the scene examine the yellow floating block in the background. Press
Circle and save your game - it's about time we do that. Enemies have been
changed into Gnosis type, so prepare to react accordingly. Now descend E
stairs, but before going thru the door make use of the ladder nearby - climb
down and exit thru S door.
You'll find yourself near a vehicle - blow up the container nearby. Surprise!
After initial greetings kick drones' asses. When destroying stuff, items ain't
only things inside. To your E are more boxes to be blown up - collect ETHER
PACK and 2x MED KIT S. What's that weird door behind the wrecked vehicle...?
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE104.jpg
Thats's one of the 18 Segment Addresses - you found SEGAD 10. But to open it,
you need items called Decoders - we need Decoder 10 for this specific door. Oh
well, you can return here later in the game, so we'll grab the spoils behind
the door then. Return to the ladder, climb it and now take E door...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE102.jpg
Grab the MISSION KEY SI, then blow up the closet and operate the switch to
unlock the door. Outside a flying drone will be roaming about. As long as you
WALK around behind it, it won't engage in battle with you. Furthermore, most
of flying enemies can only be hit with triangle attacks (far attacks) or ether
attacks. Kosmos has probably already accumulated 200 TPTS? If yes, have her
upgrade Rblade's speed to HI, so that she can set in HI slot. Next boss is
weak to Slash attacks, so why not attack it every turn with Rblade? I also
recommend training Shion until she learns Medica All Ether. That's it - we're
set, so head for the door you couldn't unlock before (make sure to kill the
Gnosis drone down here) and examine the red button to the right of the door.
Access granted!
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE101.jpg
WARNING! Before advancing heal gals' HP and EP. Now advance! If you'd like to
know my status, I was LV5 with both girls and Rblade in HI slot for Kosmos.

BOSS BATTLE - DRONE GX (G enemy type)
---------------------------------- STATISTICS -------------------------------
HP | EXP | G | TPT | EPT | SPT | STR | VIT | ETK | EDF | DEX | EVA | AGL
420 | 100 | 0 | 24 | 12 | 8 | 19 | 6 | 16 | 13 | 10 | 12 | 6
---------------- ITEM ------------------------------ RARE ITEM --------------
Ether Pack S | none
-------------------------------- SPECIAL NOTE/S -----------------------------
- Weakness against slash attacks.
- Can boost and counter boost.
----------------------------------- ATTACKS ---------------------------------
1. Plasma Shot E/B - VS one chr - beam etd
2. Active Guard - on itself - damage is reduced, counter boosts possible
3. Revenge Combo E/E/P - VS one chr - 3-stage attack: 1st Plasma Shot, 2nd
'swipe', 3rd 'swipe'
4. 'Swipe' - VS one chr - light phd
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
This guy is a lot more entertaining than the previous one. As you see from the
data I've provided above, there's only one attack you need to worry about and
that is its Revenge Combo. As it is weak to slash attacks, Kosmos' Rblade will
be very helpful. Girls also possess superior AGL, so undisturbed healing in
need of trouble is guaranteed. Also, there's what I would call two stages to
this battle - 1st stage is when GX' HP is between 211-420, and second is when
its HP is 210 or lower. Interested in knowing more?
As battle begins, GX will be pulling off two attacks - Plasma Shot for about
40 dmg, and 'swipe' for 40 dmg, both on one chr. I recommend putting Shion
behind Kosmos where she'll act as her healer. Allow Kosmos to take the brunt
of the attacks - her VIT is very high anyway, so she'll be able to sustain 2-3
attacks before she needs assistance from Shion. Whenever it's Kosmos' turn, do
square attack, followed by Rblade (which we set into HI slot). In case you
didn't have enough TPTS yet, you will need to guard on 1st, then unleash
square, square, Rblade combo. This will take off good chunk of its HP - but be
careful, as GX can boost during 1st phase!
When you smite off 50% of its HP, GX will think about it - and start using
Active Guard. Make sure you do not attack it when it's guarding - anything you
do to it will prompt it to perform cboost and unleash Revenge Combo - you're
looking at around 100-120 dmg. Instead wait until GX' next turn when it will
lower its guard and attack you again. When extremely low on HP, it will Active
Guard every turn, so you'll have to take that Rblade to it and stick it down
its throat.
I don't consider AGWS necessary enough to be used in this battle, but if you
like feeling powerful over puny enemies, by all means go ahead and send that
boss six feet under.
************************** VICTORY! CONGRATULATIONS! ************************
Now that's the longest 10 seconds I've experienced.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!

#M002 ------------------- MISSION 2 - EXPLORE WOGLINDE ---------------- #M002
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
ENEMIES
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Drone SPX
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shion will start in the lab at the extreme S of Woglinde. Talk to everyone
here and make sure you go up the stairs in N part of the room - here you can
talk to Janice who will tell you of special surprise they left for Shion in
Kosmos' simulator. Whatever could that be? Back downstairs look for the guy
near the red machine (just a bit N from savepoint) kneeling down near it -
talk to him and agree to enter the sim again. Careful - this time you have
only Shion in your party, but still... if you've followed my advices, Shion
will have little to no problems departing the enemies six feet under. Your
objective now is to reach the room where you fought Drone GX and blow up the
blue box - inside is a chest with BATTLE PASSPORT SI.
Exit the Kosmos' sim thru the exit point nearby by selecting [Yes.]. You're
back in lab room - with nothing else to do here, take E exit. OH! BTW, open
your main menu and examine UMN option - you'll see that Shion has received
some mail already: MAIL 01, MAIL 02 and MAIL 03. All of these mails tell the
player about some basic tips and instructions on how to equip chrs and AGWS.
Keep going E and you'll soon spot a bluehaired guy standing next to large
display - this is the map of Woglinde (this isn't the only display, BTW).
Examine by it circle and... my, that's a big ship. Fortunately, there's no way
you can get lost. Also remember, that if you need any advice, don't be afraid
to ask people around you for information! Anyway, from the display take the
path S - MAIL 04 will arrive. After the scene move Shion S for another scene.
Shion will now be in a small square room. If you try returning to the lab
room, you won't be able to. Instead go thru E door for another scene. When
Shion is in your control again, she'll be in a big room (hangar perhaps) where
a giant yellow object is. Nothing else of interest here, so proceed E - BEFORE
you exit the hangar, talk to the hangarman in the lower right corner of the
hangar. Pick [Uh, only if it's quick], then [Sure, that's fine]. Afterwards go
E, then N. When in new room (referred to as D1, as written on the floor),
advance N for next scene.
Shion is called in for some service, but before that she needs to recover
Maintenance Data. From your position continue going N past the blue door
(leading to partition switch), but stop on the way to nail SEGAD 18...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE105.jpg
Next door further N leads to Shion's room.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE106.jpg
Nab MAINTENANCE DATA SI from her desk in NW corner, then save your game or
rest, in case you've been having fun in Kosmos' sim. When you try to leave the
room, MAIL 05 will arrive. Go back to the door leading to partition control
room, but instead take the path leading W. Shion will enter the Realian
infirmary - her next objective will be to speak to all six Realians who are
being under maintenance. Once you do so, a scene will unfold. Forward we go (E
exit is temporarily blocked off, so we'll have to go N).
Once you're in room D2, go back S immediately. Go thru double door and make
about 10 steps more S when you're back in the infirmary. MAIL 06 will arrive -
press circle to reply to it and select [I will help you]! Your reply will be
labeled as MAIL 07. Now back N, thru double doors and forward to D2.
What's that? A debris on the bridge crossing to the next room? Maybe we can
help clear it outta the way. There's a guy, called Holgar, close to the drill
machine. Talk to him and choose [Maybe I should give it a try], then [I got it
already]. Commence drilling!
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE107.jpg
A short tutorial will follow:
- square to operate the strut, then the drill
- left stick or R2 button switch between camera modes
- X to quit the minigame
When you're done destroying all five pieces of debri, you'll get DRILL
PASSPORT SI, MED KIT S (if all debri was right on target) or MED KIT (if you
missed at least once). Continue N yet again and MAIL 08 arrives - at this point
Database gets added to UMN submenu. You'll be in room D3 now - Shion enters a
passageway with two doors on W side. Enter the first door to find a save point.
Nothing else of interest, so back out to the passageway and go N (take note of
the soldier who lost his key). As you're going down the corridor, make sure to
take a detour to the left in a small nook with some sofas, at which point MAIL
09 will arrive. When read, reply with [I read your secret email] - this will be
marked as MAIL 10. Nothing else matters for now in this corridor, so continue
N.
In room D4 a guy called Swaine will call Shion over - choose [Yes, please tell
me]. He'll hand over SEGMENT FILE SI. Now examine the door which turns out to
be SEGAD 7.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE108.jpg
When done, go E and receive MAIL 11. Go E even more to enter D5. The lift
behind orange doors leads to Woglinde's bridge - DON'T GO THERE YET! Go E,
past the guy who wonders about switches, and follow the corridor. After a long
trek you'll reach Command Center room with another save point.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE109.jpg
Chest you see behind the blue glass is unavailable for now. Back out, go left
and continue the exploration. Look, another SEGAD...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE110.jpg
This time it's SEGAD 16. Moving on to N, then E - you will reach another
entrance to D4. Climb the ladder on N wall you'll soon see and talk with the
guy to learn an important clue. Back down the ladder and E - you'll find a
cross where D5's paths meet. There's a square shaped structure here and two
soldiers - talk to them for the game of tag, which is quite simple. When one
of them says, here we go, immediately have Shion run N, and around the square
structure I mentioned earlier, then S toward the package. If you manage to nab
it without getting caught, MED KIT will be yours. You can get two more Med
Kits, before soldiers run out of prizes. Now go towards NW corner of D5 room
and enter AGWS hangar.
In SE corner you'll find a guy who sells stuff. Nothing major or hot, but if
you need shopping anyway, SPARE 500 G. You'll need them shortly. In the hangar
itself there's a worker you can talk to and agree to engage in AGWS simu-
battle. Even though he advises against it, have Shion fight by HERSELF. Do not
enter her AGWS - true, she'll take damage from attacks, but after each battle
her HP and EP will be healed to full automatically. Raise Shion to LV7 - it's
also extremely easy to kill SPX when ESL shows point bonus. Gain enough TPTS
to increase Lightning Blast's and Spell Ray's Speed to HI, as well as upgrade
their Wait time. Do not forget to set Shion's TATK to HI slots!
That's it. We've explored everything of interest, so now all that's left to do
is head for Woglinde's bridge (located in D5, behind orange doors). Once
you're on the bridge, proceed up and talk to Woglinde's captain. Captain
couldn't have been more correct. Cool, Shion's got the rest of the day off. As
Shion's going off the bridge, MAIL 12 will arrive (make sure you download the
SPRINKLE attachment). Now use the elevator and go to D5.
When you've arrived to D5, try going anywhere - a broadcast will inform you of
package having arrived at AGWS hangar. Go there and speak to the guy sitting
behind the desk to receive MWS weapon for Shion. Now return to D5 and go to
the part of the corridor, where holographic controls are. MAIL 13 will arrive
by passing thru the corridor like this:
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE111.jpg
When you read it, reply by choosing [I will invest in Vector]. Doing so will
add MAIL 14. Also, door connecting D5 and D1 is now operational, so you don't
have to take long way around. Also, make way back to the lab where Shion works
- here walk along the W wall to receive MAIL 15. That is all for now, folks.
Depart for Shion's room, save your game and then decide [Maybe I'll take a
catnap].

Once Shion is 'yours', engage the battle with first enemy you see. Do whatever
and Shion auto-moves to D5. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! Until stated otherwise, do
not engage any enemies - if you do so, you will get Game Over! Now then...
Shion will see two Gnosis beating up on something. Slowly walk E toward two
partition switches - the right one of two Gnosis will spot Shion and chase
after her. Don't bother pressing the switches, instead hide in this room...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE112.jpg
Stay here until chasing Gnosis returns to its previous position. Back outside
continue E until you come to a curve. A survivor - talk to him for few hints.
Now go N until Shion comments on surviving. How to get past that bozo in the
way? Go here...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE113.jpg
And operate the switch. I guess it's not just men that whistle after women.
Path further N is free. You'll come to the door leading to Command Center. Use
the save point (to break the glass, we need Vaporizer, which we shall soon
get), then go back outside past dying civilian. Uh oh, another Gnosis -
*quickly* backtrack to previous room! Gnosis will give up and free the path.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE114.jpg
Shion now has access to D4. Darn - debris and Gnosis (I hate rhymes). Climb
the ladder and push the button.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE115.jpg
Sayonara! Use the ladder to climb back down and continue trekking W. At the
cross go down and talk to the soldier - he'll mention Vaporizer. Shion needs
this thingie to destroy obstacles - just like you did in Kosmos' sim,
remember? Anyway, make haste to AGWS hangar! Talk to the person on the right
to receive VAPORIZER PLUG-IN SI, as well as being offered a chance to shop.
Shell out all cash for Med Kits! Now go to N part of hangar and destroy stuff
for 2x FRAME REPAIR A, 2x FRAME REPAIR Z & ESCAPE PACK. Back to D4.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE116.jpg
First lure the Gnosis by standing behind box on the left so that Gnosis
destroys the box. Then stand behind the electrified fences to lure both Gnosis
in touching them. You can now collect 200 G and 2x VEIL without interruption.
Remember the button we pushed in D4 to get rid of certain Gnosis not so long
ago? Go on that level again and go bit more left - smash two crates for 200 G
and REVIVE DX. Back to the soldier we go... Darn! Prepare for a game of tag

As you go S, two Gnosis will emerge from the side walls and give chase after
Shion. DO NOT GET IN CONTACT! Run back N, around the square structure and then
back S - MAKE SURE BOTH GNOSIS FOLLOW YOU (if you're confused, just follow the
arrow as shown in the picture). Keep at it, for they will soon give up. Shion
now receives DECODER 7 SI (can't post the pic for spoiler reasons). Before you
open SEGAD 7, destroy the objects on your left for BIO SPHERE and ETHER PACK.
Now open SEGAD 7 and collect ROBOT PART RIGHT ARM from the chest inside. Back
outside - going E here is suicide, so instead take the door leading to D3.
YES! All lucky sevens!!! When in Shion's control...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE118.jpg
Nab CREWMAN'S KEY SI from the dead soldier. Unlock the door to your left and
get SMP53AG from the chest inside. Back outside and enter next door. Save your
game!

----------------------------------- ATTACKS ---------------------------------
1. 'Shootout' - VS one chr - phd
2. Acid Hand P - VS one chr - piercing phd, induces VIT down
3. Ether Counterattack Up +20% - on itself - preparation for Spread Beam
4. Spread Beam E - BATT VS vanguard - beam etd
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
Let's discuss damage output first - 'shootout' deals about 50 dmg, Acid Hand
around 20 dmg, and Spread Beam up to 100 dmg (it hits whole vanguard). You
must try not to use too many ether attacks against Cyclops - if you do it
anyway, its counter rate goes up 20% for each ether attack it receives. As
added bonus, it will also cboost and release Spread Beam immediately. Inspite
being slow, its strength lies in CATT, so do anything you can to not trigger
them. However, if hit with light attacks (like Shion's Lightning Blast),
Cyclops doesn't cboost.
When battle starts, put both Shion and the '3rd guy' in back row. Doing so
will allow you to have only Kosmos take damage and having two chrs being able
to heal. Healing should be pretty easy anyway, cos Cyclops' AGL is only 6.
Okay, so how do we go about killing this guy? Most likely first few rounds of
boss' attacks will consist mainly of 'shootout', with occassional Acid Hand
thrown in.
If Kosmos' Rcannon is stronger than Rblade, definitely use Rcannon. Who cares
about Spread Beam anyway? It'll only hit Kosmos, and you have two chr for
healing just in case she takes too much damage. As Cyclops' Spread Beam
counter rate rose, I thought that the attack itself would grow stronger -
fortunately I was proven wrong - 70 dmg to Kosmos at best. As you can see,
using this strategy you have to nothing to fear but to bury Cyclops where it
belongs - back to history.
************************** VICTORY! CONGRATULATIONS! ************************
After the battle Shion regains the possibility of using AGWS in battles. I'm
not a frequent user of AGWS, as I rely on versatility of three chrs instead.
AGWS don't have as much fighting capabilities, you can't heal them IN battles,
and if FHP reaches zero, you can't revive them. This is why most of my boss
strategies will be based on fighting with chrs.
You're now in D1. Blow up two wall decors for ETHER PACK and MED KIT, then
kill the Gnosis bit more E. You've reached the partition control room - enter
it, open the partition doors and make haste for Shion's room where you can
save and rest to regain lost strength. Now that you have Vaporizer & the
party, we'll make another circle around the ship to collect stuff you couldn't
before.
Exit Shion's room, go N and kill two Gnosis here, then blow stuff up to find
BIO SPHERE. Go N and enter D5 - kill two Gnosis here, then blow stuff up and
collect 2x REVIVE. Don't use W doors yet, instead go E. Kill next Gnosis near
the hologram controls and destroy the objects nearby for MED KIT S and ETHER
PACK S. Further N enter Command Center and mow down the blue glass, as well as
dispatch next Gnosis. Chest contains DECODER 18 SI.
Now make your way to from D5 thru D4 and D3 to D2 - when you get to the gap in
the bridge, destroy four barrels nearby for a chest with STIM. Now go back to
Shion's room and save your progress. Go collect COAT LIGHTNING from SEGAD 18.
Your next objective is to reach the hangar where escape pods are. From Shion's
room go S and engage in battle with three Gremlins (beware, kill them in one
turn, or else they will cboost and mess you up badly). When going S, you will
come across red can - use it as an advantage for Golem that lurks nearby.
There's a niche to your left now. Blow up three crates for ESCAPE PACK and
ESCAPE PACK, as well as friendly 'reunion'.
When down, continue S still past another Gnosis. You'll see another red can,
and more destroyable objects, which contain 2x REVIVE and REVIVE. Kill final
Gnosis in your way and enter hangar doors. Equip Coat Ligtning on Kosmos.
Here are my gals' levels (both were LV8) and Ethers they've learned thanks to
using ESL point bonus slot:
Shion: Medica, Medica All, Analyze, Goodbye, Boost 1
Kosmos: Mode A7, Down Dex, Down Force
Also note that both of their TATK were leveled up enough to be set in HI slot,
allowing me to use TATK every turn. As chrs are far more versatile in
fighting, I wasn't sorry to spend few hours battling the Gnosis and
accumulating PTS I needed - free restoration of HP, easy enemies, so why not
spend some time with them?

-------------------------------- SPECIAL NOTE/S -----------------------------
- Minotaur has weakness against beam attacks.
- Sky Fish has weakness against piercing attacks.
- Sky Fish can boost, while Minotaur can boost and counter boost.
------------------------------- MINOTAUR ATTACKS ----------------------------
1. Thunderbolt E/L - LATT VS one chr - light etd
2. Diffusion Beam E/B - BATT VS vanguard - beam etd
3. Gathering strength for Gravity Pulse - on itself - preparation for G. Pulse
4. Gravity Pulse E - VS all chr - etd
------------------------------- SKY FISH ATTACKS ----------------------------
1. 'Slash' - VS one chr - phd
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
Let's discuss damage output first - Bolt deals around 50 damage, Diffusion
Beam 40 damage to vanguard, and Pulse hits all chrs for 60 damage. Fortunately
Minotaur is slower than both gals, making healing a breeze... were it not for
two Sky Fish which accompany the big boss ('slash' is worth around 35 dmg).
Take note that all three enemies can only be hit by triangle attacks and
Rcannon or Spell Ray TATK. Sky Fish will often boost, thus interrupting your
strategy and pile up the damage.
Battle begins - stick Shion behind Kosmos (you only have the girls for this
fight!) and begin casting Boost 1 on Kosmos. Kosmos should use Down Force on
both Sky Fish - doing so will reduce damage output by them to a manageable 10
dmg per attack. Kosmos will again be assigned the role of punch bag due to her
stats, which are higher than Shion's. Minotaur uses Diffusion more often, so
why bother healing two people, when just one is enough?
First order of business is to get rid of both Sky Fish once their STR has been
decreased. With the two out of the way, only Minotaur remains, throwing its
poor Diffusions and Bolts. Once Minotaur's HP is 460 or lower, there's a
chance that Minotaur will cboost and use that turn to charge for Pulse, which
will be used on Minotaur's next *regular* turn (that means that if you see
another boost or cboost by Minotaur, it won't use it to release Pulse). You
think it's a strong attack? It's nothing healing couldn't take care of. Bolt
and Diffusion are no longer used, all that's left from Minotaur's repertoire
of attacks is charging for Pulse and using it on next regular turn. Kosmos'
Rcannon is the most powerful means of assault you can use at this moment. As
always, don't forget to kill the boss on ESL with point bonus (with help of
Shion's Boost 1 that shouldn't pose a problem).

I will call this place room 1. When Ziggurat is under your control, roam
around for a while - save your game and blow stuff up under the window on E
side for SCOPE and 2x ETHER UPGRADE S. Use both Upgrades on Ziggurat and have
him learn Bodyguard and Recharge ethers. Now approach the exit for a scene.
Stuff always stops working when you least need it. You're now in room 2, left
half.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE119.jpg
You need to make your way around the soldiers, but without them noticing you.
You do so by sneaking behind their backs AND holding down R2 - this will cause
Ziggurat to walk instead of run. If you accidentally engage in battle, use
Escape Pack, for now you're better off not fighting. Make your way to room 2,
right half.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE120.jpg
Blow up stuff the crate above you and then destroy the wall behind the crate.
You can collect 2x REVIVE from the crate below you, then enter the hole we
made. You'll climb some stairs and reach SEGAD 4 (destroy the stonewall) and a
chest with SNAKE HUNTER inside.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE121.jpg
Now use Skill Upgrade S or Z (you got it from Minotaur, remember) on Ziggurat
and have him extract Poison Guard from Snake Hunter, then set that skill. You
no longer need to worry about being affected with poison. Back downstairs and
make your way E across the room to reach the chapel. There's not much you can
really do but cross the bridge to the E.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE122.jpg
Room 3 - there's a tough mech down there - fighting it not yet recommended.
Instead examine the switch and operate it to draw AGWS' attention (notice the
chest that fell out!). Now climb down the ladder and go right - a scene issues
and a fight against two U-TIC soldiers. Piece of cake. After the scene take
lower left exit from prison cells, go down the stairs, bust up Cyber Crab
combo here, and collect 2x VEIL from the chest you knocked down before. Make
your way to SE corner of this room and take the exit. You've reached the
monitoring room corridor.
Step in the small room on your left and blow all crates except SW one for
ETHER PACK S, BIO SPHERE, MED KIT S, 100 G, REVIVE. SW crate has a pair of
Cyber Crabs for dismantling, if you need EXP (use yellow can a bit back to
gain advantage). Now enter the monitoring room. After short scene touch the
mech...

1. Assault Unit Fire! - summons two Gardis F10
2. Mental Incapacitater S - VS vanguard - induces EATK down
------------------------------ GARDIS F10 ATTACKS ---------------------------
1. Laser Blast E/B - VS one chr - beam etd
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
The only damage Ziggurat will be receiving is from F10's Laser Blast (around
30 dmg). M1 has no offensive capabilities whatsoever, except for calling its
buddies, which are very weak. All in all, this boss isn't extremely
challenging and you will be able to own it with no problems.
First move to do is guard on first turn. Then attack M1 with triangle,
triangle, Lightning Fist combo. M1 will cboost and release two F10. Destroying
either is a waste of time, as M1 will simply replace lost buddies with new
ones. Instead concentrate your assault on M1.
If M1 receives damage when two F10 are out, it will use Mental Incapacitater
on the next turn - this decreases chr's EATK, meaning Ziggurat's Fist will not
be so effective anymore. Inspite of that, his Fist is still more useful to be
used than Kick - latter is fire type, while former is lightning type, and M1 is
weak to lightning.
While wearing down M1's HP, take note not to allow *your* HP to be gone. Heal
yourself with Recharge or use Med Kit S to recover 150 HP. You can take about
five hits from Laser Blast attacks before healing becomes mandatory. Don't
forget to kill M1 on ESL with point bonus! Killing M1 also cancels F10 buddies.
************************** VICTORY! CONGRATULATIONS! ************************
You now have access to the chest with MASTER KEY SI inside. Backtrack to
prison cells (killing stuff on the way for EXP) and unlock the rightmost door.
Momo joins the party. Immediately place her behind Ziggurat using Formation
command in main menu. Doing so will allow Ziggurat to increase both STR and
VIT by casting Bodyguard. Leftmost cell has a crate with SPEED STIM inside,
while middle cell contains the save point. Let's go kill the AGWS we
'tricked' before...

----------------------------------- ATTACKS ---------------------------------
1. 'Swipe' - VS one chr - phd
2. Absolute Defense - on itself - if attacked, first hit does no damage
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
Let's discuss damage output first - 'swipe' deals up to 150 dmg! Whoa - but
we'll remedy that in a heartbeat. Momo is behind Ziggurat and immediately
casts Sheep Beam on Merc - it goes in the dreamland. Meanwhile Ziggurat casts
Bodyguard, then guards, and finishes by unleashing Kick combo. This will wake
Merc up, but just follow up by another Momo's Sheep Beam. If by a small chance
Merc does get to attack, you can fix missing HP by using Life Shot ether from
Momo.
One thing to look out for - when Merc has less than 75% HP, it'll begin using
Absolute Defense. Don't attack it during this turn, put it to sleep instead.
If attack is used anyway, first hit deals no damage, while remaining deal
minimal dmg - but Merc will now cboost and deal severe damage to Ziggurat. So
what's left to do? Nothing really, simply keep putting Merc to sleep and
attack it with Kick combo. Soon Merc falls.
************************** VICTORY! CONGRATULATIONS! ************************
For victory you recover DECODER 4 SI. Now save your game again and make haste
to monitoring room. After the scene have Ziggy examine the red button on the
panel - doing so unlocks the door leading to the sewers. Go there and familiar
chase is on (remember the similar scene from certain Square game?). Don't run
in green sludge as it slows Ziggy down. 2nd crate you come across can be
destroyed for MED KIT, then take the passageway leading N to find yourself in
the chapel.
Blow stuff up for 2x ETHER PACK and ETHER PACK S, then open the chest for
ETHER UPGRADE Z. Now go back to the sewers and continue W - items in crates
you'll come across consist of REVIVE and ETHER PACK S. Think it is worth the
effort? Your call. Anyhow, you will soon reach the ladder leading outside...

- Zolfo has weakness against lightning attacks.

-------------------------------- ZOLFO ATTACKS ------------------------------
1. Grenade Launcher P - VS one chr - piercing phd
2. Why are you sleeping!? - if Merc is sleeping on Zolfo's turn, latter may
attack it and deal some phd to sleeping Merc
3. 'Defend' - on itself - if attacked, will counter by Launcher
------------------------------- MERCURIO ATTACKS ----------------------------
1. 'Shoot' - VS one chr - phd
2. I-I'm sorry, sir! - if Merc is sleeping on Zolfo's turn, latter may attack
it and deal some phd to Merc
3. 'Defend' - on itself - if attacked, will counter by 'shoot'
4. Anti-lightning shield destroyed!
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
Damage output report is as follows: 'shoot' 60 dmg, Launcher 90 dmg, both to
one chr. Launcher can hit even the chr in rearguard, so Momo isn't completely
safe. Taking down these trio seems like a tough job... but not if I can help
it. Place Momo behind Ziggy and have him do Bodyguard - Momo follows by
casting Sheep Beam on either Mercurio (Zolfo can't be put to sleep, so avoid
wasting turns!).
Ziggy guards on next turn, while Momo casts Sheep Beam on other Merc. By now
it's quite possible that Ziggy took some damage, so remedy that by Life Shot
or Med Kit S. Anyway, why are we putting Mercs to sleep? On Zolfo's turn, it's
a 50% probability that it will waste its turn to attack sleeping Merc, dealing
around 120 dmg to it, thus helping you to victory. If you would like to be
completely safe, have Ziggy constantly guard, recovering Momo's EP as need be
or to heal her/both. Momo's job is to keep putting Mercs to sleep until
they're killed by Zolfo (each Merc sustains about 5-6 hits before it's scrap
metal).
Only Zolfo remains - pummel it with Punch combo, taking care to be healed in
time. After losing half HP, Zolfo may acquire defensive stance. Cease
attacking, or else it will cboost and inflict additional damage, not counting
its regular turn. Wait until its next turn when it will lower the guard and
let it have it with Punch combo.
************************** VICTORY! CONGRATULATIONS! ************************
Battle ends - explore the fenced in area for 2x BIO SPHERE and 8x MED KIT S.
There's a door in NE corner of this small area, leading to Command Center with
a save point. Right on. Save, then take N exit to room 2, left half.
Immediately run left - if the guard spots you, kill it, for you're more than
capable of kicking his sorry ass. Anyway, make your way ot SEGAD 4 and collect
THIEF RING. One last thing before we escape from this area...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE123.jpg
Blow up this statue and collect DECODER 11 SI from the chest. You're likely to
engage in one or two battles, and some EXP can't hurt. Return and stop by the
save in Command Center. I recommend gathering enough TPTS to invest into
Ziggy's Kick or Fist to be set in HI slot. If you don't wish to do that,
invest TPTS into raising his EDEF. When set, depart for room 1...

4. Spirit Rain [Fire Dragon] - on himself - absorbs fire dmg for 1 turn
5. Rune Blade E - VS one chr - etd, pushes hit chr in rearguard
6. Hell's Crest E - VS all chrs - etd
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
Let's discuss damage output first - 'swipe 1' deals up to 70 dmg, 'swipe 2' up
to 100 dmg, Rune Blade 100 dmg - these attacks hit one chr. Crest hits all
chrs for around 60 dmg. To top it off, Margulis is extremely fast and will
often get two turns between one Ziggy's. You should know that this battle can
be lost, but you will not get game over. Still, EXP and PTS reward is hefty,
so why not try to win this battle?
Standard procedure applies by now - Momo behind Ziggy, latter Bodyguard! Momo
should and must heal Ziggy each and every turn. If Ziggy has Kick or Punch in
HI slot, use the relevant TATK every turn, only stopping by to recast
Bodyguard or using Recharge in case Momo can't heal him fast enough. If
Ziggy's TATK have LOW speed, you'll have to guard on one, then combo on next
turn. If you've been collecting items following my guide, you must have Stim
lying in your inventory. Use it on Ziggy for huge STR boost - each of PATK I
used against the boss dealt at least 100 dmg, with Kick adding in 400 dmg!
Avoid using ETATK, as boss is fairly resistant against them.
Few turns later in the fight boss expands his attack repertoire - you're
likely to see Rune Blade first. Take the damage, but Ziggy won't be pushed
back, as Momo is behind him. After taking some hits, boss may decide to use
Phoenix or Dragon on himself. Besides wasting a turn this allows the boss to
absorb relevant damage until his next turn - if Phoenix was cast, avoid using
Fist, and if Dragon was cast, Kick is a no-no. One final attack must be
mentioned - Hell's Crest, which hits all chrs, so heal afterwards. As always
by now, try killing the boss on point bonus ESL (use the help of Ziggy's BG,
which will be 2 or 3 guaranteed).

Shion starts in the gally. Take the SW exit and talk to the robot behind the
counter to receive CARD PASSPORT SI. Now go N to reach the passenger area -
email 16 will arrive with EVS PLUG-IN (allows you to replay previously visited
maps - make sure to read the instructions carefully!). Find beverage
dispensers located on E side of passenger area - MAIL 17 will arrive. It's a
response to your investment earlier in the game, where I suggested you invest
in Vector. Your dividend will be as follows:
- Hasegawa investment: 5x MED KIT S
- Vector investment: 5x ETHER PACK S
- Dawson investment: 5x REVIVE
Additionally, all merchandise costs at *item* shops are now down for 10%. Make
sure to download the attachment that came with the mail. Going N will take you
to a cross - N one leads to Elsa's bridge, W one goes to airlock, and E one
leads to a UMN point, which has a save point and new feature. A silver floating
block which acts like a shop. Now enter S cabin room and collect DISARM KEY SI.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE124.jpg
You can rest for free in N cabin by talking to the robot found inside. Now
back in the passenger area go W and enter the elevator to reach B1. Go N, blow
up stuff to get ETHER PACK, past the cargo elevator, MAIL 18 arrives, enter
the door with red light above, blow up stuff for MED KIT, 2x ETHER UPGRADE S &
MED KIT (ignore the ladder here). Back outside continue S past the emergency
switch, and in next room blow down two wall decors to reveal a passageway
leading to 50 G and ETHER UPGRADE A. Go W, down the stairs, collect 200 G and
150 G from the crates, and finally take W door.
A save point room. Save your progress, than take N door. Blow up two panels to
reveal SEGAD 8...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE125.jpg
Then operate the console to your right - doing so will use Disarm Key. Examine
the console again and press the switch - bridge ahead is now complete - take E
part to obtain 200 G, then stroll down W part to another area with 50 G, BIO
SPHERE, DECODER 10 SI and SPIRIT PENDANT. Back to the 4cross bridge, and take
N part now. At cross go left and collect 5x ETHER UPGRADE A, MED KIT & BIO
SPHERE. Go back to the cross and take right path now. You will come across the
door (which leads to a ladder we ignored before), but just continue W to reach
catapult room.
In here mow down stuff and collect: ETHER UPGRADE S, 100 G, 150 G, FIBER SUIT.
You'll also discover SEGAD 14.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE126.jpg
Go back to the save room I mentioned earlier, and this time take S exit to
reach AGWS room. On W side are three crates with 5x ETHER UPGRADE A. Robot on
the N side sells AGWS parts, and offers upgrade options as well. If you wish,
buy new frame and generator for Shion's AGWS, but I'll own the next boss
without the need for AGWS. There's more to do on S part of Elsa - take the
door leading to hangar room. At the very S end is a chest with COAT BEAM. Now
return to AGWS room and use left mini-elevator to reach SE exit, which goes to
Kosmos' recharge room.
After the scenes go to AGWS room - Matthews will call in. Before going at
Elsa's bridge, find Tony here and agree to help him. Now go all the way back
to ship's restaurant - when you're there, walk S and MAIL 19 will arrive. Back
to passenger area, enter S cabin and stand like this...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE127.jpg
MAIL 20 is yours. Before going to Elsa's bridge, drop by the save point to the
E. Look, a save has been 'upgraded' - you'll see a blue EVS sign attached on
the save point - you can now revisit old dungeons to get items you forgot to
collect earlier. I also recommend buying new equipment for all party members.
If you're lacking cash, use the EVS plug-in to revisit old areas with human
enemies and fight them to gain cash.
Now visit Matthews on the bridge. After the scene talk to him to get HAZARDOUS
AREA MAP SI. Back to the UMN point - on your way MAIL 21 arrives. Reply by
investing 1000 G and selecting [I will invest in Venture Link]. This will be
marked as MAIL 22. Before departing for the catapult room, return to AGWS room
and speak with Tony again - when he sees Shion has the map, he'll spit out MED
KIT DX. Now go to the catapult room we've been to before. Go all the way N and
examine the console to trigger a scene. Hmmm...?
When returning to Elsa's bridge, MAIL 23 arrives. MAIL 24 follows immediately

When in control, outfit your chrs with new armor you've purchased. Now use all
Ether Upgrade items you've collected on Shion and have her transfer Medica All
ether to both Kosmos and chaos. Go down to B1 using the elevator from
passenger area. Note that crates, panels and whatnot have been restocked.
Once in B1, move up, collect ETHER PACK and go E. Your lead chr will activate
the switch and electrified floor, capturing the auto-mechs. Enter N door and
collect ETHER PACK, ESCAPE PACK & BIO SPHERE. Use the ladder to climb down,
then approach the S door. Control switches over to Ziggy and Momo.
Engage in few fights to gain valuable EXP. Collect 5x SKILL UPGRADE A,
ANTIDOTE, ETHER UPGRADE S, ETHER UPGRADE A, ETHER UPGRADE S & ANTIDOTE. Use
the stairs to get out of catapult room and then follow the path. Parties unite
- remove White Ring from Ziggy and equip it on Kosmos. Make your party Kosmos,
Shion, chaos. Go down, then around the corner and past the bridge. Lure the
robot in yellow can's vicinity, and kill the enemies. Then collect FRAME REPAIR
A, SKILL UPGRADE S & ANTIDOTE. Go to the slide bridge and take W branch to
reach this loot: ANTIDOTE, ETHER PACK, FRAME REPAIR A, MED KIT S. E branch of
the bridge leads to BIO SPHERE. Now take S branch and fight few more enemies.
Take S exit and you'll reach Lab 1 with the save point.
Use the switch to disable the electro-floor if you wish, then take E exit.
Kill the next enemy, then collect ESCAPE PACK and 2x SKILL UPGRADE A, up the
stairs, collect MED KIT S, go left, kill two enemies, blow down wall panels,
collect ESCAPE PACK, and proceed further left for ETHER UPGRADE S & ESCAPE
PACK. Return to Lab 1 and save your game. Now use all Ether Upgrades you've
found again on Shion and have her transfer Boost 1 to chaos. You need to make
it past AGWS room to Elsa's hangar, which is located on S-most part of the
ship. When you enter the room, short scene will follow. Make Kosmos vanguard,
with Shion and chaos being in rearguard. At this point I was LV11 with all
three chrs.

---------------- ITEM ------------------------------ RARE ITEM --------------
Anti-Beam Armor | none
-------------------------------- SPECIAL NOTE/S -----------------------------
- Carrier has weakness against lightning attacks.
----------------------------------- ATTACKS ---------------------------------
1. Analyzing Event Slot - analysis written in boss strategy
2. Tremor P - VS all chrs - phd
3. Laser Rifle E/B - BATT VS one chr - beam etd
4. Auto-Repair - on itself - recovers 600 HP
5. Self-Destruct E - VS all chrs - etd
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
Let's discuss damage output first - Tremor deals up to 300 dmg to all chrs (if
critical occurs), Laser Rifle 80 to one, and if it self-destructs, you're
looking at around 100 dmg to all. First thing you need to keep eyes peeled out
for is Analyzing Event Slot move of Carrier. For example, if first event slot
will be point bonus slot, Carrier will copy that piece of info in its memory.
From now on, whenever Carrier gets a turn where ESL has point bonus, Carrier
will use Tremor, a devastating attack which heavily damages all chrs. Luckily
Tremor heavily delays Carrier's next move, giving you ample time to recover -
since all three fighting chrs know Medica All, recovery isn't a problem.
Regardless of your setup, Tremor will be used as Carrier's first attack. Shion
and chaos heal the party, while Kosmos launches Rcannon. Now have both Shion
and chaos cast Boost 1 on Kosmos on next turn, then have them execute Boost 1
on themselves, until their BG counts 3 (maximum value). PAY ATTENTION NOW!
Carefully observe ESL - if it looks like this:
ATTACKER EVENT SLOT
Kosmos Critical+
chaos Boost Gauge+
Carrier Point Bonus
You'd see that Carrier will get an attack on point bonus ESL. Avoid that at
all costs by boosting one of your own chrs (as you've taught Boost 1 to two
fighting chrs, this isn't a problem) - doing so will prompt boosted chr to act
before Carrier's turn, making its turn to land on ESL which it didn't record
to memory.
If you manage to prevent Carrier to reach memorized ESL slot, you've got an
easy battle on your hand. Carrier's remaining attack is crappy Laser Rifle -
Kosmos will take the damage, but simply heal her by Shion's or chaos' ethers.
Nevertheless, Carrier has two more tricks up its sleeve - when it has 600 or
less HP remaining and it reaches regular turn, it'll use Auto-Repair and
restore 600 HP to itself. How to work your way around that? Quite easy, boosts
will be your friends again. Once you feel pretty confident about messing with
ESL slot, preventing Carrier from using Tremor and Carrier soon having less
than 600 HP & your fighters have 2 or 3 BG, move both Shion and chaos to
vanguard.
Now start boosting and releasing attacks against Carrier. I'm sure that in 8-
10 attacks you'll get in before Carrier you will inflict sufficient amount of
damage before Carrier is able to recover it. The other trick Carrier has is
using Self-Destruct on its regular turn once it has 200 or less HP remaining.
This will kill Carrier, but at the same time damage all your chrs, so do take
care of being in top shape.

After the attack is over, your party consists of Shion, Ziggy and Momo. Your
job is to show them around the ship - great. You start in the restaurant - go
to the galley, then passenger room (here enter both cabins - make sure you
REFUSE when asked to go to sleep!), then go to Elsa's bridge. Go to the save
point and make use of the EVS feature to enter Kosmos' sim and make your way
to SEGAD 10 to collect 2x BOOSTER PACK inside. Back to Elsa.
Use the elevator in passenger room to reach B1. Head for the catapult room -
after the scene make way to N part of the catapult room for MAIL 26 to arrive.
Reply by [I Will Invest in Vector] - this will be labeled as MAIL 27. Now make
your way to Lab 1, where the save point is. Lab 1 will become Ziggy's
residence. When given control, try to exit the room thru N doors - MAIL 28
arrives. Your dividends are here!
- Tesla investment: 6000 G
- CUDC investment: 2x SPEED STIM
- Venture Link Investment: 4000 G + 10% off any AGWS weapons
When reading is complete, show Ziggy and Momo the remaining rooms, which are
Lab 2 (Kosmos' residence), AGWS hangar, and S-most hangar. When you're done,
return to passenger room and enter S cabin, then agree to go to sleep.

Win the easy battle and next scenes unfold. You'll begin in Durandal's hangar,
where you can save your game. Then hop thru the opening and descend -
afterwards take S route past dead Utic-soldier and take E exit. Collect
ANTIDOTE, MED KIT S, 2x TECH UPGRADE A & 2x ETHER UPGRADE A. Go E until you
reach a branch in the path. Go S a bit and on the way stop by in a small
closed area with the generator - blow it up. Walk past now disabled laser line
and blow up the second generator - blowing up the wall panel will produce some
soldiers. I wonder how could he fit in such a small place. Now both lasers are
disabled, so walk around and press this switch...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE128.jpg
Two S doors open, so walk down and past the big brown door with '4' on it.
Collect 2x SKILL UPGRADE A and continue S. Kill two ambush wannabes, and
proceed further. Enter the door you'll come across for 2x FRAME REPAIR A, then
go back outside and waltz till the end of the line. Look, another door.
There's a display with '4' on it, and a shiny button underneath. Operate it
and blastdoor 4 will open.
Go past the door, and then N at the cross. Examine the dead soldier leaned
against the blastdoor 3 and then chat with 3 friendly soldiers which are
located to the S. Blow down the panels nearby and collect BIO SPHERE & CURE-
ALL. To the S you'll find blastdoor 5, which can't be opened yet. You should
be interested in the W door leading to crew quarters, where a save point is
located. Back outside now take E exit - mow down the plants for 2x SKILL
UPGRADE A & 2x TECH UPGRADE A.
Look, another door. Don't examine it yet, as it is trapped. If you do, you'll
have to fight some soldiers. Walk past it and destroy the panel in order to
blow up the security on the door. Inside the room you'll find captured
Utic-soldier being questioned by two Durandal members. To find the location of
Card No. 3, talk to your men in this order: right, left, left, right, left,
right, right, left, right, right, left (other orders may apply, but this is how
I got the info I need).
Back outside, past the second door (also secured), blow up the panel connected
to the door and enter it. Inside you'll fall into battle against a soldier -
when defeated, he'll board Zolfo AGWS. Nothing serious. After the battle blow
up NE part of the room for 2x SKILL UPGRADE A and...

SEGAD 11. We also have the relevant Decoder, so collect COAT ICE. Walk back to
previous room and exit. Continue S until you reach third door leading E -
you'll need a keycard for this door. Collect 5x ETHER UPGRADE and go W now -
another two wannabe ambushes. After you kill them, take W doors - you're now
on the other side of blastdoor 5. Enter nearby control room and release the
lock by pressing the switch under monitor with '5' on it. Back out of the room
take a hike S to reach AGWS hangar.
On your current level collect CURE-ALL to the right, then descend the stairs.
Down here blow up stuff and nab FRAME REPAIR A, ETHER UPGRADE S & 2x SKILL
UPGRADE A. Don't forget TECH UPGRADE Z from the chest. Kill a friend who has
come to play. Go back upstairs and cross the bridge - kill two bozos who
pretend to be 'guarding' and go S until end of corridor. Step thru W door and
nab CARD NO 3 SI...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE130.jpg
Back to previous corridor, now go N and make use of E door you passed before.
Collect U-TIC CARD SI from the chest inside - notice the T-ELOS reference on
the board (yeah, more sexy androids). Cyber Crabs will now roam around. Return
to blastdoor 5, but don't go thru, instead take a E and go to the door we need
U-TIC card for. First stand next to the card reader and examine it - doing so
will open the door. Obtain DECODER 16 SI.

Now backtrack to control room for blastdoor 3 and enter it. First examine the

----------------------------------- ATTACKS ---------------------------------
1. 'Missile Launcher' - VS all chrs - phd
2. Booster Output Down xx% [Counter rate xx%]
3. 'Machinegun' - VS all chrs - phd
4. Booster Recovered xx% [Counter rate xx%]
5. 'Beam laser' - BATT VS one chr - beam etd
-------------------------------- BOSS STRATEGY ------------------------------
Let's discuss damage output first - 'Missile' deals about 80 dmg to all,
'Machinegun' 50 dmg to all, 'laser' up to 200 dmg to one. If Ambix is hit with
slash type attack, its counter rate will drop by 50% first time, then 25%.
After taking more damage, it will start to recover its counter rate - first
it'll rise to 50%, then to full. While Ambix' cboost % is dropping, it'll
counter by 'machinegun'. Once Ambix has less than 600 HP, its cboost will
recover when hit by slash attacks - its counter in this state is 'beam laser'.
Anyway, start the battle by having Jr cast Psycho Arm on himself, while Mary
guards and Soldier attacks. Doing so will reduce Ambix' counter %, allowing
you to hit it more often withour fear of retaliation. Don't worry about Mary
and Soldier getting KO-ed, this is the last battle you'll have them with you.
Soldier will likely get KO-ed due to its very crappy armor, but Mary will hold
her own for quite a while.
Jr guards on next turn to gain 6 AP, while Mary unleashes W-ACT for nice
damage. If need be, have Jr heal himself with Med Kit S! When given chance,
use Moonlit Serenade against Ambix which will deal huge damage. Mary continues
to guard and W-ACT on next turn until Ambix is defeated. If you think you'll
be in crisis, command Jr to board his AGWS - doing so ensures your victory
against the tincan.

Okay, Shion's yours. Try to leave the bridge - MAIL 29 arrives. Kosmos now has
new TATK called Rdrill. Now go save, then make your way to Lab 1 and collect
Ziggy. Now backtrack to Elsa's airlock and enter Dock Colony. Time to
explore...
Talk to the woman in brown in front the dock clinic multiple times to learn
about Fish Detector. You can't get that yet until later in the game. Now enter
the clinic - one of the nurses here can recover HP and EP for free, and
there's a girl named Luty here, who will be important for one subquest (later
in the game). Talk to her with Shion - doctor will mention Ariadne Flower...
but where could you get one?
Exit the clinic and enter the shop 'Talk to me'. Time to purchase armor and
weapons. Buy the following stuff:
- weapons: Navy Gloves, Metal Rod and MSP89SX
- armor: 4x Stylish Armor, DUnit V3, VOLG20, 4x Space Helmet, 3x Guard Pendant
Again, I don't invest anything in AGWS, due to my reasons stated earlier in
the walkthru. Be sure to talk to the kid named Tom here multiple times until
he starts repeating himself. There's a set of stairs leading further down to
another room. Blow up the stuff to get access to SEGAD 2.
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE132.jpg
Nothing else of interest here, so go back outside. Continue walking S until a
scene in which you'll see Hammer run off. Now GO BACK to the clinic - DO NOT
advance yet! When you get to the clinic, run between two rows of seats in
waiting room for MAIL 30 to arrive. Now go back to the path you were descending
before and continue along the path until you run into Hammer.
Shion will be in Lab 1. Try exiting thru N exit - MAIL 31 arrives. Now make
your way to the elevator leading to passenger area - as you get near it, MAIL
32 arrives. It contains Fbshot subweapon for Kosmos (but only if you've
invested in the companies I've told you to). Make sure you download the
attachment to get the weapon available for equipping. Now visit the UMN spot
on Elsa, save your game, then go to the bridge and talk to Matthews to depart.

Fairy enemies you'll meet here are annoying for putting your chrs to sleep.
But you'll soon find a helmet that will allow you to extract the skill. Make
your party Shion, Kosmos and chaos. Save at nearby save point and commence the
search. Blow up few rocks and obtain ANTIDOTE and NIGHTWALKER. Immediately
extract Sleep Guard skill from this helmet and set it. ADVANCE SLOWLY AND
CAREFULLY. This is a long dungeon and next saving chance is a long shot away.
Use beam attacks against Cerberus, spirit attacks against Ogre, near attacks
against Fairy. As final boss of this dungeon relies heavily on ether attacks,
we shall upgrade our EDEF, but wait until I suggest so.
Go N and engage Cerberus. Go more N for a dead end with BIO SPHERE. Backtrack
a bit and go NE for next Cerberus engagement. You'll reach next screen. Follow
the path, dispatch Cerberus and proceed, until scene kicks in. Take the path
under two crushed stones and nab NEURO STIM, then continue E until you see
Fairy and Cerberus. Try to lure one of them in yellow can trap. You'll find
another Cerberus and Fairy up ahead. At the intersection go N first - when you
find yourself behind the sign, mow it down and nab COAT FIRE from the chest.
Then return to the cross and take S path to reach another screen.
Approach the building with few neon signs and blow up the door. Climb the
ladder and go across the bridge. Kill Cerberus, then collect CURE-ALL, REVIVE
DX & REVIVE. Now return down the ladder - when outside the building, take S
path, kill Cerberus, and blow up two crates on the end. Now take path leading
N from the building. Kill Fairy on the way - when you get to the end of the
path, step on the elevator and take it down, granting you access further.
You'll encounter another Fairy before exit to next screen is reached.
Move up the path and kill Cerberus. Climb the stairs and put Momo to be the
lead chr, ie the one who appears running around. Examine this 'closet'...
kolardamir.com/xse1/XenoE133.jpg
Momo will learn TATK Magic Caster and learn ether Star Wind. When you collect
the loot, move right until you see some debris. Blow it away and bridge will
be formed, making access to a weird enemy. Leave the chum breathing for a
while, we'll come to kill him later when we save our progress. Take the path
below the stairs and follow it - kill Cerberus, then blow up next debris
blocking path forward. After long trek engage Ogre. Further down collect ETHER
PACK S and MED KIT S. Next screen's access!
Go E and engage Ogre, further E lure Fairy near red can, take S descend, and
finally walk right past another Fairy to much sought after save point. Now
that our progress is saved, train a bit around here and reach LV15 with Shion,
Kosmos and chaos. Then save again and make your party Momo, Kosmos and Shion.
Have Shion tranfer Boost 1 to Momo as well, while Momo transfers Life Shot to
Shion (they'll both need respective ether). Also have Momo set Star Wind ether
and upgrade Caster's speed to HI, so Momo can steal twice in battle. If you
don't have enough TPTS, fight battles and make sure you kill enemies with
point bonus ESL. Now return to the bridge we formed earlier and engage...

Let's discuss damage output first - Heat Wave 200 dmg to one, Hell Cannon 50

and it doesn't possess any hit-all attacks.
Make your party Momo, Kosmos and Shion. Place Shion in rearguard. Momo uses
Star Wind on her first turn and uses Magic Caster twice to steal Tech Upgrade
Z and S from the boss (we set it in HI slot, remember?). Equip Coat Fire on
Kosmos, as she will be our main attacker. Have Kosmos employ her Rblade each
turn (must be set to HI slot). Any of Svaro's possible cboosts will most
likely be launched against blue-haired android, making her suffer. But this is
what we have Shion here for - to be assigned healing duty.
Anyway, after Momo steals both items, move her to rearguard as well. Now have
Momo provide boosts for Kosmos, while Shion heals Kosmos taking care she
doesn't get KO-ed. As we've equipped Kosmos with Coat Fire, she won't take as
much damage. It's also possible to cast Down Force on Svaro, further
decreasing some of its offensive capabilities.
But still, beware! Svaro has high % of cboosting and messing Kosmos' turns up.
Once its HP hits 50% or lower, Svaro's probability to use boosts increases. It
is therefore imperative that Momo provides boosts for Kosmos as well, so that
she can interrupt Svaro's mad rush. Soon Svaro falls...
