6. CHARACTERS
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
LANG | Age 17 | Weapon: Sword
Raised by the captain of Nohl's Vigilance Corps, Lang was trained from an early
age in the ways of the sword. He's a brave youth with a strong sense of
justice, but he sometimes speaks his mind too freely and gets himself into
trouble. He was born with an oddly-shaped birthmark on his chest.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
MAYA | Age 14 | Weapon: Magic
Raised in the snow covered, northern village of Yuno, Maya has the ability to
use the type of magic called 'Secrets of Kabel'. One day, however, she had a
terrible accident with that power. Ever since that incident, she's been in a
state of shock, unable to speak. Nevertheless, she's certainly not timid - a
girl full of curiosity.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
KAZAN | Age 60 | Weapon: Martial Arts
An old swordsman once renowned for his expertise in the Tenga-Ryu (Sky Fang)
school of swordsmanship. But now he has thrown aside the sword, relying only on
fists. He's a little rought spoken, self-indulgent, and sloppy, but has a vast
knowledge not only of martial arts, but also of history. The wise man of the
party (and many other, as you'll find out thru the game).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHARON | Age 20 | Weapon: Saber
A swordswoman who holds a deep reverence for her departed father. Cheerful and
straightforward, she has a frank, big-sister bossiness to her. Her goal is to
be world-famous someday. She practically forced her way into Lang's party.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
AYNE | Age 23 | Weapon: Hammer
A warrior from a race of giants, Ayne is from a southern island called 'Hill of
Giants, Jinga'. These giants lived without contact with the outside world until
a certain event caused Ayne to join up with Lang and his party. He looks
menacing, but he's actually quite steady and intelligent.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
7. MENU SCREEN
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOW TO ACCESS AND UNDERSTAND MENU SCREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
To access - Press Circle when on a field screen or dungeon map. To understand
what each part of menu screen is for, I'll chop it up in five parts:
a) in upper left menu screen commands are displayed
b) top of the screen is for help messages
c) most of the right half is dedicated to status overviews for each chr
d) bottom left corner you can see party's current cash
e) on the bottom you see explanatary messages (item info etc.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ITEMS COMMAND
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This lets you examine, use or rearrange items you've acquired so far.
1. A bit below the top line you'll see five icons, followed by coin symbol.
Five icons represent Item display modes.
a) ALL icon displays all items in inventory
b) Potion icon displays only usable items of restorative nature
c) Pointing hand icon displays all other usable items
d) Sword icon displays items that can be equipped
e) Diamond icon displays all other uncategorized items
f) Coin symbol represents how many accessories you're holding - you can have a
max of 200 accessories
2. Most of the middle of the screen is reserved for items, that is their names
and quantity held. Use L1/R1 buttons to scroll thru the list quickly. You can
hold a maximum of 99 units of particular item.
3. At the bottom you can view item's info and its effects.
4. Pressing Square will let you sort items in order acquired, name, type, or
you can switch them around manually
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ORIGIN COMMAND
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets you view origin's status or use origin abilities.
1. Middle top right displays status of the origin currently displayed (only EXP
and LV, tho'). R2/L2 switches between origins available.
2. Middle bottom right displays chr that hosts that origin.
3. Middle left displays abilities origin has learned (new abilities become
available as origin levels up). Abilities that can be used outside of battle
are shown in white text.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
EQUIP COMMAND
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets you check or change chr's equipped items.
1. Middle right is reserved for current chr's status. Here you'll also find
weight gauge, which is explained below in point 4 of this section.
2. Middle top left is reserved for items chr has equipped. Number on the right
is that item's weight. Use L1/R1 buttons to scroll thru the list quickly.
3. Bottom left is for other items that can be equipped. Number on the right is
that item's weight.
4. I'll now explain WS (Weight System). Each equippable item has weight value.
Each chr can equip items of total weight up to that chr's max weight. Max
weight value rises (up to the total max of 100) as chr levels up. The better
the performance of an item, the more it will weigh. You could, for example,
choose to equip a high-performance weapon and armor, or you could opt for a
variety of light accessories instead.
5. I'll now explain how to equip items. First you select the category of item
you want to equip. You may only equip one weapon and one piece of armor for
each part of body, but you may equip as many acc as you like (up to that chr's
max weight, of course).
Select the item you want to equip from the list and enter your selection.
Changes in chr's status are displayed to the right. To remove acc, move the
cursor to that item and press Square. YOU CANNOT REMOVE WEAPONS OR ANY TYPE OF
ARMORS, ONLY ACCESSORIES!
When you equip acc, its associated skill/s are displayed. Moving the cursor to
any equippable item and pressing Circle displays info about that item's effect.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
STATUS COMMAND
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

of the current battle lineup using the same method. LANG CAN NEVER BE PUT IN
RESERVE.

nicknames.
2. When talking to people, you're sometimes presented with a choice of multiple
responses. Your choices will be reflected in hero's personality, affecting what
he says during events or after winning battles. Hero grows confident and tough
by choosing positive, or timid and pessimitic if you choose negative responses
(as you'll see, over half of such choices will affect your relationship with

9. BATTLE SYSTEM
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BATTLE SCREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Battle screen occurs when your party encounters enemies on Dungeon Map. Battle
screen can roughly be divided into two parts.
a) In the middle battle commands are displayed. Use directionals or left stick
to select the command.
b) In the bottom row status overviews of chrs participating are displayed:
- name, followed by chr's level
- HP, represented by both numbers and a bar (if HP is 0, chr is downed)
- MP, represented by both numbers and a bar (if MP is 0, Origin command is
unavailable)
- AP, represented by both numbers and a bar (if AP is 0, certain arts cannot be
used)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
FLOW OF BATTLE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. First you must encounter an enemy. To do so, just wander around a bit on
dungeon map until screen switches to battle screen. Max of three members can
participate in battle.
2. When in battle, first selection you must make is Party command screen (PCS).
You select an action for the entire party for that turn (most appropriate will
often be Battle).
3. After PCS is behind you, Character command screen (CCS) is next. Here you
choose an action for that turn for each chr participating in battle. You can
Attack, Guard, use an item, or use Origin ability.
4. If Attack was selected on CCS, Tactical art entry screen is next. Here you
can enter arts. When you are thru, select Begin battle command and battle
begins. Members and enemies then perform their designated actions for that turn
in order of speed (AGI stat).
5. Battle ends when either party or the enemies are downed or have run away. If
you're victorious, you gain EXP, items and cash.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
PARTY COMMANDS

1. BATTLE PARTY COMMAND
Fight the enemy for that turn. If this command is selected, CCS is up next.
Here choose an action for each chr participating in battle.
2. TACTICS PARTY COMMAND
Select tactic for each chr when battling under Auto mode. If this command is
selected, Tactics selection screen (TSS) is next. First choose a chr you wish
to change tactics for. Then choose a battle tactic for that chr. After you're
done setting up tactics for all chrs, choose Tactics selected command.
Selecting Begin command carries out tactics you have set up.
TACTIC WHAT IT DOES?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aggressive atk | Concentrate on defeating all enemies.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Standard atk | Concentrate on attacking, but restore party when necessary.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recover/AP up | Restoring party and raising AP is important
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recover | Restoring the party is important, guard and attack when
| necessary.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. RUN PARTY COMMAND
Party will attempt to escape from battle. If you succeed, you leave without
fighting, battle ends and no EXP, cash or items are awarded. If you fail, no
more actions are possible and you are attacked by the enemy for that turn.
4. AUTO PARTY COMMAND
For that turn, battling chrs automatically carry out the battle according to
battle tactics chosen beforehand with Tactics command.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHARACTER COMMANDS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. ATTACK CHARACTER COMMAND
For that turn, attack the enemy by entering Tactical Art System (TAS). Note
that Maya won't be able to select Attack until a certain point in the game.
2. ITEM CHARACTER COMMAND
For that turn, use one of the items designated for battle use. After Item
command is selected, you will be prompted to choose from one of the available
items. After you do so, you will need to choose the target for the item being
used - it can be either party member, one of the enemies, of whole group.
3. GUARD CHARACTER COMMAND
For that turn, defend against enemy attacks and reduce amount of damage
received by 50%. If any defence skills are equipped on guarding chr, this is
the time they're triggered.
4. ORIGIN CHARACTER COMMAND*
For that turn, have chr's origin use one of its abilities to help the party or
attack the enemies. Once you select Origin command, a list of abilities origin
has learned so far is displayed, along with the amount of MP each ability
consumes. Select the ability you want to use, then select the target/s for that
ability. Origin gains more abilities as origin's LV rises.
* - Ayne's command is SPIRIT, as he hosts no origin.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ELEMENTS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Each enemy monster belongs to an element class. There are eight different
elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Light, Dark, Thunder and Void.
2. Elements that oppose each other are: Earth VS Wind, Fire VS Water, Light VS
Dark. Void and Thunder have no opposing element.
3. If you attack an enemy with opposing element, resulting damage will be
greater for 100%.
4. Similarly, attack will be less effective, if you attack an enemy with its
own element - damage is reduced by 66%. Note that damage can even be nulled or
absorbed.

=============================================================================
10. TACTICAL ART SYSTEM
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
TAS is a system of attacking the enemy by combining the four commands UP, DOWN,
LEFT and RIGHT.
-------------------------
TACTICAL ART ENTRY SCREEN
-------------------------
1. As already mentioned, this screen opens up after you select Attack character
command from CCS. Screen can be divided into roughly four parts:
a) TAS move commands, which are UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT.*
b) List of arts chr has learned so far, along with their move combos, will be
displayed on the right half. You can switch between 'Display art list', 'Select
art from list' and 'Hide art list' modes by pressing Circle. In 'Select art
from list' mode, select the name of the art you want to use and press X.
c) Art blocks which are displayed just above the bottom of the screen. Commands
you entered are displayed here. As chr's LV rises, so does the amount of art
blocks.
d) Chr's AP, displayed both as number and gauge, are found at the bottom.
* - Maya's commands here will be EARTH, FIRE, WATER and WIND.
--------------
ENTERING MOVES
--------------
1. Using directionals enter any move commands you like, up to the number of art
blocks available. With each move you make, one art block is filled. To cancel
all commands entered up to that point, press Triangle. Remember that move
commands you entered are displayed as arrows in those blocks (RIGHT will be
listed as ->, LEFT will be listed as <-, and so on).
2. When you're finished inputting, press X to be taken to enemy selection
screen (if you fill all art blocks, you're automatically taken to enemy
selection screen). After selecting actions for each of battling chrs, select
Begin command and battle commences.
3. Chr attacks the enemy according to the move commands you entered. Commands
represent the target location of the attack - UP will hit the enemy in the
upper part of the body and so on. If you target flying enemy with DOWN command,
attack will miss. Likewise applies with trying to hit short enemy with UP
command.
------------------------------------------
ALL ABOUT ARTS - SPECIAL, POWERFUL ATTACKS
------------------------------------------
1. Entering certain move combination results in chr attacking with a special,
powerful attack called ART. Arts can also be learned by reading scrolls, or by
having someone teach you.
2. Normal Arts (NAR) are arts that can be learned as soon as you enter certain
combination of moves. These are marked with white letter N on the art list.
When you use NAR, you build up a predetermined number of AP. You can later use
these AP to perform even more powerful attacks.
3. Art list displays the art's name, type (icon), move combinations, and
finally amount of AP used or built when art is executed.
4. Basic strategy is to build up AP using NAR, and then use AP to perfomm
stronger arts.
5. So how to discover new arts? Move combos do not necessarily contain only one
UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT. Try entering series of the same move. Search Art
skill might also help you find new arts when performing Auto battle. But, if
you're reading this guide, that won't be necesarry, cos all available arts for
all chrs will be listed here.
6. Besides NAR, there are four more types of arts you can use. First type I'll
tell you about are SUPER ARTS (SAR). They can be learned as soon as you enter
the correct combo of commands. These are marked with yellow letter S in art
list. They also use some of your AP. If at the time of execution chr doesn't
have enough AP for SAR to be performed, the attempt fails.
7. HYPER ARTS (HAR) cannot be learned by yourself. You can only learn them thru
certain story events, or by reading scrolls you may obtain in dungeons, shops
or elsewhere. HAR is marked with orange letter H in art list. They also use
some of your AP. If at the time of execution chr doesn't have enough AP for HAR
to be performed, the attempt fails. Practicing certain HAR will give you access
to even more powerful HAR.
8. VARIABLE ARTS (VAR) are arts where two chrs join forces to attack an enemy.
VAR are marked on art list with red (first attack) or purple (second attack)
letter V. VAR can only be learned and used when:
- you must reach specific point in the story before VAR are executable
- each of two chrs that plan to use VAR must have enough AP to carry out
his/her half of the attack
- each of two chrs must enter specific moves for his/her half of VAR within the
same turn (both attacks of VAR have six moves; no additional moves can be
entered other than these six, or else VAR will misfire)
- both chrs must target same enemy
- to use VAR listed in Character's arts section, this is how you know which two
you can tie together: VAR that have [1] mark next to its name, can be chained
by any other chr's VAR that has [2] mark next to its name
9. MYSTIC ARTS (MAR) are strongest arts at your disposal. They can be learned
as soon as you enter right cobmination for MAR, but following conditions must
be met:
- MAR move combo consists of seven moves, so if chr has six or less art blocks
to work with, MAR can't be performed yet
- chr attempting MAR must have at that time less than 50% MAX HP remaining,
his/her AP gauge must be at 100 AP, and chr must have at least 100 MP. If these
conditions are met, MAR will be performed with devastating effects
10. I'll now teach you about combining arts. In short, when combining NAR and
SAR in one attack, if the moves at the end of one art are the same as the moves
at beginning of next art, they only need to be entered once. This way you can
save on art blocks. I'll provide an example.
- Lang wants to perform NAR Blue Moon Buster (RDR) with SAR Sandstorm (RLR)
- if you didn't know about combining arts, you'd usually use six art blocks in
which you'd input commands RDRRLR
- but because these two arts can be comboed, it's enough if you input RDRLR
- that's because last move of Blue Moon Buster is the same as first move of
Sandstorm
11. As far as art comboing is going, you must know certain limitations:
- only first and last moves of NAR and SAR can be comboed
- only LAST moves of HAR can be comboed
- first moves of HAR CAN'T BE COMBOED
- VAR and MAR can't be comboed
- Maya can't combo NAR and SAR

* - Despite what you may think, Maya's Shockwave, Pyro Fury and Forbidden Rite
arts don't belong to any element. I tested Pyro Fury against Lava Drake (who's
immune to fire damage) and it dealt damage to it. Shockwave was tested against
Shadow Skull (dark based enemy) and damage dealt was roughly the same as was
with say fire based enemy.

Ayne cannot gain 14 art blocks by leveling to LV99!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
LAST NOTE: Maximum amount of art blocks chr can use during battle is 14,
regardless of what you try to do to increase the amount. True, cooking dish
that awards one art block will cause chr's status screen to read 15 art blocks,
but you'll still be able to use only 14 of them.
A nice trick I found at last: if you guard with Full Power skill, art blocks
usually decrease by one. So with 14 blocks you'd have 13 to choose from next
turn. However, if a dish that awards art block is in effect, and you guard with
Full Power, 15th excessive art block is taken into consideration and counts as
14th art block for next turn!

12. WALKTHROUGH
=============================================================================
=============================================================================
At long last, Legaia 2: Duel Saga begins.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
MISSION #M01 - PATROL HUNTER'S WOOD
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
TOWN #T01 - WILDERNESS TOWN, NOHL
Shops: Weapon shop, armor shop, item shop, peddler (later in the game)
Items: Heal Powder, Heal Powder, Poison Cure, Point Card, Heal Leaf, Egg,
Poison Cure, Pedometer, Heal Powder, Heal Powder, Poison Cure
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
After the initial introduction and stuff you'll be presented with three
choices. I've come to a conclusion that none of these choices affect the
stroyline in any way. Once again, regardless of what choices you make, ending
sequence will still be the same!
Lang starts at LV1 with 500 cash in his pocket. Once Lang is under your
control, examine the cabinet to the right of the bed for 1x HEAL POWDER. The
other three rooms in left wing of this huge house have nothing else that can be
picked. Climb the wooden stairs in middle room (kitchen is here) to reach the
chest with 1x HEAL POWDER. You can exit thru the door to get a view of Nohl -
nothing breath-taking. Return downstairs and check out first room of right wing
- in the cabinet is 1x POISON CURE. In 4th room room of last wing you will 1x
POINT CARD in top right corner (you can rack a max of 99999 points on Point
card - item's price is divided by 20; result is then added on Point Card).
We're done here, so exit thru S door of the house. Outside another choice...
Name your chr if you wish. For this guide I'll refer to him by given name,
Lang.
After scene is finished, talk with Dein (kneeling guy) to obtain SWORDHOLDER
NICKNAME for Lang (actually, picking any of three choices will get you the
nickname, but we gotta act tough). BTW, save point has appeared in Lang's room,
so you can start saving progress to your heart's content. Talk with everyone
here...
Jump on the house's roof just to the left of Boerto and drop down. In flowerpot
next to the two kids you'll find 1x HEAL LEAF. Jumping on the house's roof
further SW you'll find a chicken on it. Check it to obtain 1x EGG. Two houses
close to Nohl's entrance are item (left one) and weapon shop (right one). Chest
in item shop has 1x POISON CURE. Talk to Mallory and she'll offer you some
goods:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUNDRY SHOP: MALLORY'S
Heal Powder 100 | Poison Cure 25 | Larg Rice Ball 150
Flag of Retreat 1000 | Scroll of Identity 200 |
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buy couple Poison Cures, as you're going to need them soon. After you're done
buying, you'll get 1x PEDOMETER (sometimes after finishing shopping you may
recieve either Heal Leaf or Venom Cure). This is a thing that records how many
steps you've made. Now pay a visit to weapon shop to the right.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
WEAPON SHOP: HAND-MADE
Broad Sword 400 | Padded Jacket 360 | Leather Chest 920
Leather Gloves 320 | Studded Knuckles 880 | Short Boots 740
Poison Charm 400 | Vigor Charm 800 | Leather Helm 300
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon as you exit weapon shop, stroll a bit down. Behind the fence (you may
have seen it from the top of the house Lang lives in) is a chest with 1x HEAL
POWDER. That does it for item hunting. You may want hopping on the sheep that's
inside fenced off area, but I suggest not doing it.
Now enter the big house (where you started) and head for last room of right
wing. Convo with Galvan will issue... We're ready to go out on our first
mission! Depart for village gate. When asked, answer 'I'm ready' to move out
(If you wanna spend lil more time in Nohl or forgot to buy anything, choose 'I
need more time'). You'll receive 1x HEAL POWDER and 1x POISON CURE. After the
scene you'll automatically go to Hunter's Wood.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D01 - HUNTER'S WOOD
Enemies: Klaw Ant, Bloody Wolf, Flytrap, Gather Crab (BOSS)
Items: Heal Powder, Flag of Retreat, Heal Powder, Heal Powder, Heal Powder,
Leaf of Stamina
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Galvan will join your posse temporarily. His HP will be restored after every
fight. Dein will try something... Pick first choice - eat this, rookie! Time to
move on. When you have control, head S. Soon you'll fall in first battle with
2x Klaw Ant - Galvan will give you some pointers, so just follow his lead.
During course of battle you'll obtain 1x HEAL POWDER. After battle Lang reaches
LV2 and gains third art block. GREAT! Continue going S until you reach second
battle with 3x Bloody Wolf. Lang will learn how to perform Blue Moon Buster NAR
and Sandstorm SAR.
As you come to first crossroads, take NE one to get 1x FLAG OF RETREAT from the
chest. Retrack your steps and continue going SE. BTW, you may return to Nohl
anytime to get your beauty sleep, to save your progress or upgrade your
equipment.
Now, when next battle issues, have Lang learn Mountain Crusher (URU), Hawk
Stroke (LDD) and Blade Dance (DLL). As you reach next screen, a scene - you
will need to terminate all Klaw Ants found on screen. Unfortunately random
battles are still a pest. At first crossroads take NE path - soon Lang will
notice sth. Enter the clearing and terminate 9 Klaw Ants. Return to previous
path and go SE. Soon you'll spot another road - take it to SW and you'll reach
a chest with 1x HEAL POWDER. Now go E and then take the path S. Continue going
until you reach another crossroads. Waltz W until you get 1x HEAL POWDER from
the chest. Now backtrack E and then take first path S. Lang will notice another
Klaw Ant group - continue on S. Eradicate them all, then go bit N and then E
all the way (before you go on next screen, you might want to go to Nohl to buy
better stuff and restock on healing items - esp Poison Charm, since next boss
can poison you).
On next screen Galvan leaves your posse. Save at the save point, then check
path W of it for 1x HEAL POWDER. As you go N, nail 1x LEAF OF STAMINA from
chest hidden nearby. Dein is up there, as well as...

BOSS BATTLE - GATHER CRAB
LV | HP | MP | EXP | Gold | Race | Attribute
NA | 1074 | NA | 500 | 500 | Chitin | Earth
Abilities equipped: None
Carries: Antidote
GATHER CRAB'S ATTACKS
1. Combo attack - VS one chr - phd, 2 hits (both hands) OR 1 hit (one hand)
2. Birth - summons 1x Klaw Ant into battle, used with both hands cut off
3. Venom - VS one chr - phd + induces poison, used with both hands cut off
BOSS STRATEGY
Lang should be at least LV4, so that you won't have to heal too often. Mountain
Crusher is preferred NAR for this fight, or you could opt for Sandstorm (it
should take boss out in five-six hits). Lang is faster than crablegs for sure,
so just proceed whacking at it with Mountain Crushers. Its physical attacks
take off about 25 HP per strike, while Venom is worth 70 HP. When boss loses
about 1/3 of its HP, Lang cuts one of its arms, reducing boss' attack to 1x
combo. With 2/3 of boss' HP lost, boss can't combo anymore, but instead
switches to Venom and occassional Birth (taking out Klaw Ants is nice well of
EXP, but don't take too long). Heal if your HP falls below 80 - don't take any
chances.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you'll brag, you'll get punched. Talk with everyone else inside the house
for some more choices. This is all you can do for now. Go to your room and take
a nap. Next morning exit the room and go to kitchen.
Now, save, restock, refresh, whatever. Let's go investigate Hunter's Wood one
more time. Head to the place where you fought Gather Crab. Save point, but it
isn't necessary to save.

BOSS BATTLE - GOLD EYES
LV | HP | MP | EXP | Gold | Race | Attribute
NA | NA | NA | NA | NA | Human | Void
Abilities equipped: None
Carries: Nothing
GOLD EYES' ATTACKS
Has no attacks.
BOSS STRATEGY
Just defend for three turns and that's it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back in Nohl talk to people if you wish. Head for the lake's pier to advance
the story, then head for village gate. You'll get 1x HAMMER SWORD and 1x WIND
TALISMAN. With this Mission 1 has come to an end.
*****************************************************************************
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
MISSION #M02 - CROSS GALE CANYON
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
New location opens up on the world map: GALE CANYON (SOUTH). Immediately go
back to Nohl. Next to shack by the lake you'll find Maxell. Challenge him to
sidejump game to obtain SIDEJUMPER NICKNAME for Lang, as well as receive 1x
BOOST OIL. Four subsequent victories will get you Heal Potions (one per win),
then you get Heal Leaves, and at later points Heal Potions again. When you
think there's nothing else to do here, go to Gale Canyon (S) on the map and
enter.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D02 - GALE CANYON
Enemies: Vulture, Rock Golem, Baki, Lyps, Elfin (BOSS), E. & M. (BOSS)
Items: Pickpocket Charm, Scroll of Identity, Poison Cure, Heal Powder, Guard
Oil, Alma Iron Ore
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
As soon as you enter, get 1x PICKPOCKET CHARM (equip it right away, so you can
steal items from enemies - don't forget to equip Item Thief under Skill part in
menu). Then go up and Lang will use Wind Talisman, which will grant you
passage. BTW, meet E. & M. From starting position, go up and take a small path
up that leads under an arc. You'll find 1x SCROLL OF IDENTITY. From here go
down, then left. At intersection continue left and nail 1x POISON CURE. Back to
intersection and go up. Go up again, then hike right. At next cross take S path
to reach 1x HEAL POWDER. Back to cross and go E. At immediate next cross go N,
then E to get 1x GUARD OIL. Back to cross and go W. Continue past the path
blocked by a rock (access available later). You'll see a green creature trying
to run away. Jump the gap then try fighting the thing. You win! Continue E - on
the way make a detour to 1x ALMA IRON ORE. Soon you'll reach a save point. Are
you LV9? No? Then train until you are. Next boss is a bastard and having 4 art
blocks is excellent. Once you have them, a variety of arts can be learned:
Chaos Strike (UDRU), Demon Thrust (DDDU), Shadow Split (LRUL), Thunderflash
(DUUU) - these are all NAR. As for SAR, you can learn True Moon Slash (UDDU),
Thunder Moon (UURR) and Red Whirlwind (DUUL).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOSS BATTLE - ELFIN
LV | HP | MP | EXP | Gold | Race | Attribute
NA | 2347 | NA | 2074 | 1940 | Beast | NA
Abilities equipped: High Power, Light Guard, Hit rate up 1, HP boost 1, STR
boost 1
Carries: Leaf of Vigor
ELFIN'S ATTACKS
1. Combo attack - VS one chr - phd
2. Death Hug - VS one chr - 3 hits, phd
3. Challenge - VS one chr - chr loses all AP
4. Maiden Passion - on itself - STR for next turn is doubled
5. Combo attack + Dynamite Hip - VS one chr - phd
BOSS STRATEGY
Elfin's combos can take away up to 200 damage. Death Hug rips about 200 damage.
Combo, which follows Maiden Passion can be worth up to 300 damage (if Lang has
enough HP, guard on next turn). So first thing to remember is to heal
immediately if your HP becomes 300 or less. Challenge is a pest, as this move
robs you of all AP you've gained. So start the battle by immediately executing
SAR, like Red Whirlwind. When your AP gets stolen, switch to Chaos Strike. Heal
when you need to and you will emerge victorious. Don't give up!

4. Combo attack + Elegant Royale HAR (8 hits) - VS one chr - phd
5. White Melody - VS all chrs - 1 hit, dark spd + induces venom
BOSS STRATEGY
This is another battle you're 'supposed' to lose. But alas, if you're leveled
enough, it is *possible* to waste either E. or M. Either two of bosses can be
attacked for damage... maybe you'll succeed in stealing their items? Once
either you, E. or M. falls defeated, battle is over.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
With this Mission 2 has come to an end.
*****************************************************************************
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
MISSION #M03 - ESCAPE FROM IMPRISONMENT
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Save your game, then examine the door. Scene will follow... I can't wait to
kick M.'s butt. Another scene... Ah, dear muscle-meathead... Check the door
four times.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D03 - DOPLIN CASTLE: PRISON LEVEL
Enemies: Doplin Soldier, B. the Mighty (BOSS)
Items: 4x Heal Leaf, 2x Leaf of Stamina, Jab Charm, Darakin Rag-Autumn, Heal
Powder, Bronze Barome, IceNeedle Scroll, Doplin Lunch, Zonark Weed, Heal Leaf,
Heal Leaf, Venom Cure
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
New chr joins posse (starts at LV7). But remember, Maya can't use Attack
command until certain point later in the game. Save in the room to the right.
Even more right you'll find some stairs. Go down. If you examine red door, sth
will try to jump you (according to contributor Alvaro B., this is Gimard,
Vahn's first meta attack from Legend of Legaia). We'll worry about this thing
much later. Go left until you reach another corridor. Take first upper door and
you'll find three potions on the desk: yellow one reduces your HP for 70% (HP
reduced dramatically), blue one restores MP, but decreases HP for 30%, while
green one fully restores HP/MP. First room on lower part of corridor has a
chest with all your items inside.
Now that your gear is back, go back upstairs... sigh. Random battles are now
fought. Third upper room you'll pass is locked - there's nothing you can do
about that now. Pass the grating you couldn't get by before and enter fourth
upper room - choose your destiny!
Examine the room to get 4x HEAL LEAF, 2x LEAF OF STAMINA and 1x JAB CHARM.
Fourth lower room contains 1x DARAKIN RAG-AUTUMN. Siren alert! Escapees have
escaped! Now a Zelda challenge awaits you: you must get thru the garden without
being spotted by the guards. If you are, you fight couple of Doplin Soldiers.
If you mess up enough times, they're gone and you're free to wander around the
garden. Top right chest has 1x HEAL POWDER, boxed in chest contains 1x BRONZE
BAROME (approach from below to be able to open the chest), and chest in lower
left has 1x ICENEEDLE SCROLL. Continue left to a huge room. Still go left until
you get in a room - check the chest for 1x DOPLIN LUNCH. Other two rooms
contain big fat nothing. Back in big room go downstairs - SAVE YOUR GAME.
Behind the lever thingey you can find 1x ZONARK WEED. Now pull the lever -
freedom is within your grasp! Run!
If you're a valiant fighter, you'll pick first choice. If you're a not-so
valiant fighter, you'll choose second choice.

BOSS BATTLE - MIGHTY B.
LV | HP | MP | EXP | Gold | Race | Attribute
NA | 1775 | NA | 2500 | 2500 | Human | Light
Abilities equipped: Block Light
Carries: Attack Oil
B.'S ATTACKS
1. Combo attack - VS one chr - phd
2. Rage Wave - VS all chrs - 1 hit, spd
BOSS STRATEGY
How can he fight with all that armor? Regular attack does 200 damage a pop.
Rage Wave strikes all chrs for 250 damage (even more if Lang fights alone). If
only Lang is fighting, launch two attacks (Red Whirlwind will do nicely), then
use Heal Leaf on third turn and repeat until Balken falls. If both chrs fight,
have Maya defend on first turn, then use Life Blessing from second onward. If
you waste B. before drawbridge is up, you receive no special rewards, so do
whatever. I was LV12 when I fought him and he fell with four Red Whirlwinds.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Moon jumps, eh? As you run away, check the bell for 1x HEAL LEAF. Go the only
way you can and check the lit window. Save the game, exit the room and go
downstairs. After the scene talk to Sabrina. You must tread carefully (love-
wise, hehe)... when it's over, talk to one-eyed jack behind the counter. His
name is Joe and you'll be seeing him often. Back upstairs choose to sleep. Next
day go down and again talk with Sabrina. New area opens on the map - MT. GABEL.
When you talk to Nils, be sure to pick second option presented! Talk with
Sabrina again to get 1x HEAL LEAF and 1x VENOM CURE. Now get out of the inn...
With this Mission 3 has come to an end.

MISSION #M04 - CHECK OUT MT. GABEL
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
TOWN #T02 - DARAKIN CITADEL

Darm Sheet Metal, Leaf of Mysticism, Heal Powder, Heaven's Path
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
There's a lot to do here. Entrance to Darakin is to your S. Before you do
anything, go up to the noble part of Darakin - here enter last house on the
left side of the street. Talk to the man to receive 1x VIP CARD. Now return to
poorer part. Starting from S to N, here's how the shops go...
First house on right side... (no meal ingredients can be bought yet)

Attack Oil 1000 | Guard Oil 1000
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Second house on right side... (Derek will explain about acc; check the drawers

Power Jewel 2400 | Brass Rerebrace 4000 | Leather Gauntlets 1000
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next there's an alley between second and third house on right side. This alley
leads to three houses with nothing of interest in them (yet). Veska in
rightmost house is talking about Emblem of Nobility, which we shall get later,
so move on to third house on right side of the street... eh, an inn. This does
it for right side. Let's nail left side. At S end talk to Miura ro receive 1x
ON THE ROAD AGAIN. Then enter the weapon shop house.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
WEAPON SHOP: KINGDOM ARMS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hiro, guy found inside will explain about arts. He'll also teach you NAR Chaos
Strike... which we already know, hehe. If you can combine your weapon in
stronger ones, by all means do so. Drawers behind the clerk have 1x HEAL LEAF.
Now attack the other weapon shop...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
JUNK SHOP: GOLD RUSH

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you buy some stuff (for around 1000 G), you'll receive 1x FIRE SPIRIT POT
(don't sweat it, it's nothing special). Behind the three so-called houses you
can get 1x DARM SHEET METAL. Now head to richer part of town and enter first
house on the left (take door up the stairs). Steal 1x LEAF OF MYSTICISM. If you
enter thru lower door, you'll step into clothes store. Chat with clerk, then
the other guy in here.
Good people of second house on the left have prepared 1x HEAL POWDER for you
(chest upstairs). First house on the right is a hotel, but you can't get in
yet. The other is the restaurant with nothing to do inside. With this our tour
of Darakin Citadel ends and we can embark on Mt. Gabel. When you appear on
world map, you'll see some other locations that weren't on the map before: THE
FOREST MAZE (SOUTH) - don't go here or you'll be teared to shreds, DARAKIN
CITADEL - we're currently here, MT. GABEL - where we're supposed to go, and
lastly GALE CANYON (NORTH).
Keep going back into Darakin and completing events involving Maya. The other
room's door upstairs in the inn has been fixed - you'll find 1x HEAVEN'S PATH
inside. Once done, go to Nohl - repeat the procedure with events involving Maya
here as well. Talking with other NPC-s is also 'healthy'. Once you've done
everything you can for now, head for Mt. Gabel.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D04 - MT. GABEL
Enemies: Stone Beast, Flower Power, Baki Warrior, Galduke, Spike Lizard, Lyps,
Mountain Morg (BOSS)
Items: Heal Leaf, Bronze Barome, Scroll of Identity
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Easy path. Get 1x HEAL LEAF, then go past 'stoned' path, and just stroll along.
Before reaching the next screen (sometime after you pass over wooden plank) get
Maya to LV10. Middle-aged? Yeah, right - 60 years sure is middle aged.
Before moving out, get off all Maya's acc. Go DOWN, save your game, then go
left. You'll have a battle with Galduke - cake'o'peace. When in control, enter
Kazan's house, then go back out. Some fella Kenjiro will show up.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
GENERAL MERCHANDISE: KENJIRO

When done, go thru fence Kazan opened. Straighforward path again. On the way
get 1x BRONZE BAROME, ignore stone plate for now, get 1x SCROLL OF IDENTITY,
climb the vines, and save at the entrance to the cave. Enter...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOSS BATTLE - MOUNTAIN MORG
LV | HP | MP | EXP | Gold | Race | Attribute
NA | 896 | NA | 5000 | 3000 | NA | NA
Abilities equipped: Block Normal
Carries: Armor Charm
MORG'S ATTACKS
1. A power punch! - VS one chr - 1 hit, phd
2. Hit you! - VS one chr - 1 hit, critical damage
3. eat Eat EAT! - prepares for 'Don't like you!'
4. Don't like you! - VS one chr - 1 hit, spd (Game over!)
BOSS STRATEGY
It can't be harmed with normal attacks. What do you do? Power punch will take
off about 150. Defend for few turns until scene (if you wanna steal its Armor
charm, try away) - Lang *must* be defeated first. It's all over now. Lang's
HP/MP are restored. Use Flaming Fist twice and you win. Do not wait or you'll
get hit with 'Don't like you!' attack which is sure game over, as it does over
1000 damage, and I doubt you have that much.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Victoly! Kazan joins the partay! He starts at LV25 with 6 art blocks. Have him
learn NAR: Critical Thrust (URR), Lightning Kick (LUD), Moon Splitter (DLR),
Goblin Dance, (RRLR), Jawbuster (RRUU), Double Fists (DDDU), Double Kick
(DUUU), Fever Wind (DLLDR); and SAR: Deadly Hands (UDRU), Iron Fists (URLL),
Aerial Attack (LRDU), Cannon Blast (UULDR).
Reach LV15 for Lang, so he gains 5th art block. Learn NAR: Battle Flash
(UDDLR), Rabid Attack (DUDLR), Wind Blade (LRDUL) and SAR: Moonflower (RLDLR).
This takes care of all moves you can learn so far for both Kazan and Lang. The
rest are HAR (must read scroll or be taught first), VAR (you will be taught
first) and MAR (not enough blocks - we need 7). Stroll down the mountain path
until a scene.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D05 - CAVE OF TRIALS
Enemies: Galduke, Dino Gol, Spike Lizard
Items: Homemade Lunch, Magic Powder, Heaven's Gate, Hell's Path, Revival
Elixir, Leaf of Appeal, Attack Oil, Avarice Jewel, Heaven's Path, Secrets of
Fang, Jedo Metal, Attack Bottle, 4x Beef, 4x Vegetables, 4x Red Pepper, 4x
Curry Set, Bronze Barome, Leaf of Defiance
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Examine the stone. Press Square to destroy it. Maya rejoins. If you think you
need rest or to improve equipment, get back out and say you need to go back. If
you go back, you'll get 1x HOMEMADE LUNCH. Head out and go up, where Kazan
waits. Say you go back. Up the path we go until you reach the stone plate. Go
in the cave and proceed. Going E is useless, so go W. Jump the gap, use Lang's
origin on the rock, go thru small gap in left wall to reach 1x MAGIC POWDER.
In next room break the rocks with Galea, step on switch and door opens. On next
screen take upper path, then steer left to climb the vines in order to receive
1x HEAVEN'S GATE. Back on ol' track go E, then up. Use Rivas on the vines. Get
1x HELL'S PATH. Back down, then take the path which remained.
In this room kill Galduke holed up - doing so will unlock S door. As you exit,
go W to get 1x REVIVAL ELIXIR. Now go E - hop down to 1x LEAF OF APPEAL. Hop
back up and further E. At cross take E path. Use Galea at the vines and you'll
nail 1x ATTACK OIL. Back to cross and go S. Light the torch with Galea, then
quickly step on switch to open the door.
Go down the vines, use Galea on vines, get 1x AVARICE JEWEL. Equip it right
away, as it has Item Increase skill. At cross go E, use Galea to break the rock
and get 1x HEAVEN'S PATH. Back to cross at go W. In next room light bottom left
torch with Galea and exit S (if you screw up, check the plate to reset the
puzzle). Here get 1x SECRETS OF FANG. S, then S again and you're out of this
stupid cave (kills every Dino Gol in existence). I dunno about you, but I'd
wait until we get outside when Lang learns Raging Fang HAR - true, you can
learn it by reading the scroll, but Kazan won't like it. Step back on platform
and use Deva to go back inside the cave. Go to place where we used Rivas to
grow vines.
Use Deva on earth patch to reach 1x JEDO METAL and 1x ATTACK BOTTLE. Now back
to Kazan's house. So Kenj, where's the droola? Go back down the mountain.
You'll learn how to camp.
For the recipes Maya knows COCOA CAKE and Kazan knows KAZAN CURRY. Keep
selecting Chat until convo becomes repetitive. If you want to have as many
relationship-selection choices as you wish, it's important that you camp as
much as you can. That way you can learn a lot about chrs' backgrounds and such
- after every major event, after learning new recipe, after getting a nick etc.
Many things can be considered as major event.
I recommend doing a bit of combining as well. At this point I was:
Lang LV16, Assassin Blade, Metal Jacket, Power Gloves, Battle Greaves
Maya LV13, Gorgeous Dress, Simple Cloth Shoes
Kazan LV25, Simple Doublet, Straw Sandals
When breaking camp, you get 4x BEEF, 4x VEGETABLES, 4x RED PEPPER and 4x CURRY
SET. When you reach bouldered road, use Galea on the rock. In the cave retrieve
1x BRONZE BAROME and 1x LEAF OF DEFIANCE. Buried chest can't be opened yet.
Finally get off the mountain.
With this Mission 4 has come to an end.

MISSION #M05 - STORM DOPLIN CASTLE & RETRIEVE THE AQUALITH
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
It might be worth paying a lil visit to Forest Maze - single fight here will
award you with up to 3500 EXP, which is good for few quick levels and some
needed cash - enemies you may encounter are Voorst, Bean Gun and Hilgigas. When
engaging in battles, use origin attacks. When you run out of MP, go to sleep
for free in Nohl or for measly 100 G in Darakin. When you return to Nohl now,
there's a chance that if you talk with the kids, they tell you of how Kazan is
scary and BOOGIE MAN NICKNAME for Kazan is yours.

(maybe you need to talk to Yan (woman in front of junk shop) and Skandel (man
in junk shop, then start digging thru junk) first). Also, every so often when
you examine junk hill, you may receive a crappy eq-piece or some collectible
item. Talk with the main cook in restaurant to receive 1x COOKING TODAY. For
the list of recipes learned press CTRL + F, then type in R90, and press Enter.
Now you also have access to Three-Star hotel - in one of the rooms on upper
floor you can find 1x COURAGEOUS HEART. If you have enough cash to afford 80000
G Deluxe room, Lang learns ATOMIC HEAT recipe (best recipe which boosts all
stats, but ingredients are hard to come by).
Now let's revisit Gale Canyon...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D02 - GALE CANYON
Enemies: Vulture, Rock Golem, Baki, Lyps
Items: Venom Star, Restore Potion, Magic Bottle
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If you enter from N side, you'll come across the grave - place Friendship Ring
item on it. Some new items can be nailed in this area. As you stroll down the
path, stop before making the jump over the hole - same spot where you fought
Lyps at start of game (BTW, you'll see a chest to the N - after 4th member
joins the party, have that member's origin shoot the chest down from this
position - inside the chest you'll find Golden Barome). Behind the path blocked
by boulder you'll nail 1x VENOM STAR. There's another chest on unreachable
platform - use Deva to pound the ground few times. When chest falls, 1x RESTORE
POTION is yours. At first cross (if you come from S entrance) there's a path
leading E with dirt patch at the end - you will get 1x MAGIC BOTTLE in the end.
Visit Nohl again. Talk to Kazan, the visit Nancy in the big house in the
kitchen. When given a choice, pick first option and Lang learns RICE BALL
recipe, as well as receive 1x WORKING LUNCH. Now go to Darakin, enter the hotel
and enter first room on lower floor...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D06 - THE SEWERS
Enemies: Evil Fly, Bone Warrior, Jelly Melt, Netherkind
Items: Red Gate key, Leaf of Sagacity, Leaf of Mentality, Maiden's Heart, Old
Map, Leaf of Stamina, Camping Kit, Heal Leaf, Way of Rage, Venom Cure, Rot
Ring, Stun Cure, Bule Gate Key, Unassailable Pill, Revival Elixir, Camping Kit,
Bronze Barome, Black Ring, Quick Oil, Courageous Heart, Handmaiden's Ring,
Scroll of Identity, Leaf of Defiance, Yellow Gate Key, StrongMenWeakWalls,
IceNeedle Scroll, Paralysis Draught, Revival Bottle, Bronze Barome
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Go S, jump to the other side, then go E, across the bridge and around - unlatch
the door. To your S you will find red door, which we can't unlock yet as we
don't have the key, but it is close... Return to bridge we first crossed and
continue E to reach next screen.
Here go down into the canal (no water is around), then down and right and up
the stairs. Once at the top, go right, down and left to reach the door. Go
inside, use Galea to crash the crates for 1x RED GATE KEY. Crash E wall for 1x
LEAF OF SAGACITY and 1x LEAF OF MENTALITY. Exit this room - now go left and up
to receive 1x MAIDEN'S HEART (remember the electric switch door in this part
for later!). Go back to first screen now.
From here cross the lower bridge (unlatch the door if you haven't already),
then go down and left to red door. Use the key and inside flip the red lever.
Back outside go thru door you unlatched, then go left until you come to another
door, locked from other side. Cross the sluice gate to your N, and go a bit
right to get 1x OLD MAP. Now go left as far as you can for 1x LEAF OF STAMINA
(at the end of path further left is another electric door - memorize it for
later). S of last chest we opened is a sluice gate you can cross - once you do,
go left (follow the path), across the bridge, get 1x CAMPING KIT from nearby
chest down, enter the room a bit left, inside use Galea to break the crates for
1x HEAL LEAF, then back outside, past the chest, go up (you'll see a part of
broken bridge and thunder target across), then left to get 1x WAY OF RAGE. Use
this on Kazan to get his Fists of Rage HAR.
Retrack back to the chest where we got Leaf of Mentality, but this time go S,
pass the stairs, use Galea to crash the crates, get 1x VENOM CURE and 1x ROT
RING. Now go back a bit and down first stairs you come across, then immediately
up the next stairs. Bit N you'll get 1x STUN CURE. Now go S and you'll find
another room - Galea will smash the crate for 1x BLUE GATE KEY, and Galea will
knock off N wall for 1x UNASSAILABLE PILL.
Now go back to the ladder we used to enter the sewers. I know I'm walking you
around for no reason, but it's the only way I can think of. From the ladder, go
S, then downstairs into sewer canal, now go right and follow the canal as far
as you can. At the end climb out via right stairs. Keep going S - you'll reach
a black crate, with which you can't do anything for now. Instead cross bridge
on your W, then go down until you reach crates - Galea will get you 1x REVIVAL
ELIXIR. Back to bridge go left and follow the path - get 1x CAMPING KIT, use
Galea to smash some crates, cross another bridge to reach next room. Galea-
smash-crate tech gets you 1x BRONZE BAROME. Back outside, cross the bridge and
continue left to another screen. Follow the path until you reach campsite. You
can rest, combine some better stuff, chat etc. Don't forget to save.
When done, enter blue door and flip blue lever. Now backtrack a bit, go down
the stairs in sewer canal, then up the next stairs. Ahead you'll see a chest
with 1x BLACK RING. Going down past the stairs, then taking a left will get you
to 1x QUICK OIL. Now cross two bridges further S and unlatch the door.
Now get back into sewer canal and take right whenever possible to get 1x
COURAGEOUS HEART. From the chest go left, then up and up the stairs. Going down
on this level will lead you to 1x HANDMAIDEN'S RING, while going up gets you 1x
SCROLL OF IDENTITY and third door, which you can unlatch. I bet you saw another
chest in sewer canal - now you can reach it for 1x LEAF OF DEFIANCE. Now go N,
then left and up the first stairs you see for next room. Get 1x YELLOW GATE KEY
in upper right corner (use Rivas to light green torch). Back outside go into
sewer canal, then climb up the first stairs you see (there's a chest in which
we got Old Map before). Keep going W - on next screen cross the sluice gate for
1x STRONGMENWEAKWALLS and 1x ICENEEDLE SCROLL.
Go back to last stairs you climbed, go down back in sewer canal, and then climb
next stairs immediately - you should now be near third door we unlatched. Go S,
downstairs into sewer canal, then S, E, S and W. Climb first stairs you see and
enter the room - flip the red lever.
Now enter sewer canal again, but get out at first stairs (on left side of
canal) further S, cross the sluice gate, go W and take left turns until you
reach yellow door. Enter it and flip yellow lever. Now back outside jump over
th crates to other side and go down to get 1x PARALYSIS DRAUGHT. Room to your N
has 1x REVIVAL BOTTLE. Go back outside and take a left to reach a ladder - use
it! Somewhere in sewer canals (when they're drained) you can have Galea smash
the crates you usually use to jump across - inside you'll find 1x BRONZE BAROME
(sorry, but I forgot how to get this one). You're back in Darakin. Restock and
whatever... then back down we go. Between the two doors is a shabby wall - have
Galea punch it...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D07 - KABEL RUINS
Enemies: Bone Warrior, Skulraptor, Stone Golem, Zurvlai, Jelly Melt, Slogar
(BOSS)
Items: IceNeedle Scroll, SlicingWind Scroll, StoneCrush Scroll, Camping Kit,
Attack Booster, Adventurer's Log 1, Sage's Handbook, Flag of Retreat,
BoltStrike Scroll, Ancient Writing, Camping Kit, Revival Bottle, Adventurer's
Log 2, Adventurer's Log 3, Gold Key, Plague Cure
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Go up, thru the door, use Rivas to light lone unlit green torch, go up thru
next door. Path to right is blocked for now, so you need to hike W. Use Galea-
smash-wall tech and we get to next cross. Go W and continue going ntil you
reach the room with 1x ICENEEDLE SCROLL. Backtrack and take first N door - in
this room have Rivas light E torch to access 1x SLICINGWIND SCROLL. Galea
extinguishes E toech, Rivas lights W torch to access 1x STONECRUSH SCROLL.
Galea extinguishes W torch to unlock S door. Go back to the cross and take E
path now. At next cross ignore door for now, instead go S and downstairs. At
yet next cross go right, at next cross go down, at next cross right to a room
(have Galea extinguish lone lit torch) with 1x CAMPING KIT and 1x ATTACK
BOOSTER. Back in front of door follow this course - up, left, up into another
door.
Here nail 1x ADVENTURER'S LOG 1. Reading it will give you a clue. Have Rivas
light the torches that have one of following letters: F, I, S or H. Up you go.
At this cross go right (ignore taking the lift stone, as you don't have proper
tools yet), then up until you hit next room. Here step on N-most switch to have
E door open - you get 1x SAGE'S HANDBOOK (Rivas can light the torch for clue on
where you need to step).
Back out, go left, ignore the door on N... what's this? A cracked wall? Have
Galea knock thru it. Take the stone lift and nail 1x FLAG OF RETREAT and 1x
BOLTSTRIKE SCROLL. Back up with stone lift and again go left, then up. BTW, if
you see stone statues at edges of corridors, beware! Smash them with Galea or
else you'll be ambushed by Bone Warriors.
There are four torches here. From N to S have Rivas light fourth and Galea
extinguish first torch. Next room has camp site. Save and whatever... Equip
poison protection, if you have any. Cook Kazan Curry dish. When done, exit the
camp and go up...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOSS BATTLE - SLOGAR
LV | HP | MP | EXP | Gold | Race | Attribute
NA | 16763 | NA | 13000 | 8192 | Demon | Dark
Abilities equipped: MP Thief, Stop Guard Break
Carries: Leaf of Mysticism
SLOGAR'S ATTACKS
1. Extinct Fall - VS all chrs - 1 hit, spd
2. Dust Break - VS one chr - 1 hit, phd + induces poison
3. Rapid Blast - VS one chr - 1 hit, phd
Note: Slogar's physicals may steal 1/16 of chr's MAX MP.
BOSS STRATEGY
Do not be afraid. Boss can't be harmed, Maya is out of action for three
turns... well, maybe you should be afraid... after three turns pass, Maya kicks
boss' ass into oblivion. Not really, but at least you can now hit it for
damage. Single chr attacks deal up to 500 damage, Extinct Fall 250 to all. If
you get poisoned, shrug it off (you'll just get poisoned again) - concentrate
on killing Slogar. Heal your chrs whenever HP falls below 500 - you should have
a bunch of Bronze Baromes. Kazan uses Cannon Blast SAR, or Fists of Rage HAR.
Lang goes way of Raging Fang. Don't forget to combo NAR afterwards to get back
few AP per each move. Boss ain't hard, you just need to know what it can do to
you.
PS: You could also consider launching Kazan's MAR, but he must have less than
half MAX HP remaining, 100 AP and at least 100 MP. Combo for MAR is: DRLURLD
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the battle go back and rest (if you wish, get all the way back to Nohl
and going to your house, than up on the roof where there's a balcony will
trigger scene with Maya). Now go up twice... great, we're still not out.
Head straight N to a room with 1x ANCIENT WRITING and 1x CAMPING KIT. Exit back
out, go W, ignore next door for now and go down corridor - when you get to five
statues, have Galea smash them... above the lone pedestal have Galea knock down
the wall - a secret! Smash another two statues with Galea, then get 1x REVIVAL
BOTTLE. Back to previous corridor and up to final room of this part - Rivas
should light torches in this order: top right, bottom left, top left, bottom
right. 1x ADVENTURER'S LOG 2 is yours. Now go to the door I told you to ignore
not long ago. Inside is another puzzle.
Rivas lights the torches in this order: yellow, indigo, red, green (if you're
unsure of the colors, check torches before lighting them). Up I go. Noooo...
Sigh, I hate crosses... to the N is a room, where you'll find 1x ADVENTURER'S
LOG 3. Back out we go. Room to the right is another puzzle room, but before
that we want to collect the goodies left here... Room to the left has a puzzle
too - remember to knock down two statues with Galea... have Rivas light bottom
and left torches. Ooops, I forgot the key.
Go back and now enter rightmost room with the clock puzzle. There's 12 torches
here, positioned as clock's hours. The one pointing to the N and is already lit
is 12 o'clock, remember that. According to Log 3's hint: have Rivas light 7
o'clock, then light 3 o'clock, then light 5 o'clock, and finally light 2
o'clock. Go up and get 1x GOLD KEY and 1x PLAGUE CURE. Go further up and have
Galea knock down another wall. Now backtrack to middle room (the one with the
statue we needed to shade so it showed 3 o'clock) and go up. Use Gold Key at
double doors (left and right paths are useless to be taken). Up you go and up
the ladder you go...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
DUNGEON #D03 - DOPLIN CASTLE: PRISON LEVEL
Enemies: Doplin Reserve, Doplin Officer, Doplin Trooper, Doplin Soldier, R. the
Brave (BOSS), Crimson Warrior (BOSS), Zoan Stoara (BOSS)
Items: Darakin Rag-Winter, Leaf of Defiance, Boundless Love, Donsu Poison,
Uppercrust Dessert, Prehistoric Study, Hitde Poison, Fruit of Stamina, Venom
Blade, Dream Shake
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Oh geez, no. In the upper room take green potion if you need it, then check the
bookshelves for 1x DARAKIN RAG-WINTER. These are all items for this level, so
head for the stairs - your objective is to get the drawbridge down again, you
know the way. Oh, there's 1x LEAF OF DEFIANCE behind the staircase. Now
there're random battles in the garden.
We're back at the castle! Lower the drawbridge, then go to town to restock if
you need more stuff. I forgot about this earlier. Go to Green Lynx Inn and talk
to Leon (guy behind the counter).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
GREEN LYNX INN
Beef Stew 300 | Caesar Salad 200 | Cabbage Roll 150
Tomato Risotto 120
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Order all four meals - Lang learns LYNX SPECIAL STEW, CAESAR SALAD, CABBAGE
ROLL and TOMATO RISOTTO recipes. Also drop by item shop and buy few Magic
Powders (6 or 7 should do) - they'll come in handy during next boss fight.
After you restock, go back to Doplin Castle. Go up the stairs and thru blue
door. Enter left room - on the table you can get 1x BOUNDLESS LOVE. Check the
cake to have Lang learn PRINCESS CAKE recipe. Get 1x DONSU POISON from the
chest. Drawer to the right of huge bed has 1x UPPERCRUST DESSERT. For the list
of recipes learned press CTRL + F, then type in R91, and press Enter.
Room on the right has these stuffs: check the bookshelf in bottom left corner
to receive 1x PREHISTORIC STUDY and 1x HITDE POISON from the chest near the
bed. Item hunt is over. Back to main corridor and up until you're stopped.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOSS BATTLE - R. THE BRAVE & 2x CRIMSON WARRIOR

Abilities equipped: Hit Rate Up 1
Carries: Leaf of Mentality
RAYNOF'S ATTACKS
1. Combo attack - VS one chr - phd
2. Split World - VS all chrs - 1 hit, spd
3. Rage Wave - VS all chrs - 1 hit, spd
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
CRIMSON WARRIOR'S STATS

25 | 3338 | 65 | 3600 | 2011 | Human | Void
Abilities equipped: Guard Up 2, Guard Break 1

CRIMSON WARRIOR'S ATTACKS
1. Combo attack - VS one chr - phd
2. Combo attack + Gale Slash (1 or 2 hits) - VS one chr - phd
3. Combo attack + Jack Slay (3 hits) - VS one chr - phd
BOSS STRATEGY
Let's see - a motormouth like his bro, only this time he brought
reinforcements. Crimsons have Guard Break ability, which enables them to give
25% of damage even if you're guarding, so don't take them lightly - their
combos can deal about 400 damage. R.'s combo is worth 600, while Split World
gives up to 280 damage to all (Rage Wave as well). Here's the deal for quickly
wasting this guy... Magic Powder + Flaming Fist = Victoly!
So each turn have Lang throw Flaming Fist, Maya gives Lang Magic Powder each
turn and Kazan uses Bronze Baromes to keep the team healthy. About ten Crimsons
later boss falls and you get whole bunch of EXP and cash.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
DO NOT GO INSIDE THE CHAPEL YET. Use the save point. Now enter the chapel.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOSS BATTLE - ZOAN STOARA
LV | HP | MP | EXP | Gold | Race | Attribute
NA | 27338 | NA | 30720 | 15000 | Demon | Dark
Abilities equipped: MP Thief, Stop Guard Break
Carries: Leaf of Sagacity
ZOAN STOARA'S ATTACKS
1. Gusto Blow - VS all chrs - 1 hit, spd
2. Toxic Dark - VS one chr - 1 hit, phd + induces stun
3. Crackdown Buster - VS all chrs - 1 hit, spd
Note: Stoara's physicals may steal 1/16 of chr's MAX MP.
BOSS STRATEGY
Another bozo that can't be hurt yet... Toxic Dark gets one chr for 500 damage,
Gusto Blow and Crackdown Buster both blow all for 200 damage. Bring some Stun
Cures or acc with Anti-Stun, if you have any. Defend/heal for three turns.
After the scene input Maya's commands like this and exactly like this: DURL.
This will unleash Big Bang HAR, which will enable you to hit the boss. If
someone gets stunned, unstun him/her immediately. This fight is almost the same
as Slogar fight, with only different status annoying you. So remember to heal
if your HP fall to 500 or below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You've acquired 1x AQUALITH. After the battle go back to church - check behind
the monolith for 1x FRUIT OF STAMINA. Now get back on world map. Re-enter
Darakin again. Head for the good weapon shop - Kazan inside will receive
HAGGLER NICKNAME and 1x VENOM BLADE. In middle of the street Maya is standing -
pick first option, then find Nils - he's hiding below the first house on right
side of the street when you enter Darakin. He'll give you 1x DREAM SHAKE.
Whenever you visit the restaurant from now on, it can happen that you will be
asked if you want a meal...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
RESTAURANT CHEZ SNOBBE
Premium Deluxe Full-course Meal 50000
Deluxe Full-course Meal 30000
Budget Full-course Meal 5000
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Selecting budget meal will cause Lang to learn BALSAMIC VEGGIES recipe, while
deluxe meal teaches LOBSTER IN WINE, and premium meal HEAVENLY BEEF recipe.
We're done for now in Darakin, so back to Nohl.
After the scene go to your house. Another scene - go to Galvan's room and talk
with Galvan twice - Kazan'll obtain BOTTOMLESS NICKNAME. Now save and go to
sleep. Next morning go up to the balcony and chat with Nancy, then go down and
out of the house.
With this Mission 5 has come to an end.

As you get to the meeting place, another battle commences. Also, many monsters
in areas you've visited so far have been 'upgraded'.
Now you must get back to Nohl. BTW, if you're lucky enough to run into Lyps,
you should be more than able to kill it now - hope it drops Lyps' Tear, which
we'll need in a while; if it doesn't, don't sweat it. On your way back tear
thru enemies with Flaming Fist, having Maya and Kazan finish off survivors.
Back in Nohl go to your house, then back outside. Prep for the journew well.
Before leaving go to the pier for Nancy and talk to her. When preps are done,
talk to either Kazan or Maya and say that you're set. Kazan has some good
ideas... too bad Kenj got there before us...
With this Mission 6 has come to an end.
