all the time I spent playing to unlock all that the game has to it to make as complete as

I don't know that much of all the background info on Project .hack, I'm still in the process,
but watching .hack//SIGN, .hack//LIMINALITY and playing the .hack games sure help.
The story begins with SIGN, where a character named Tsukasa can't seem to log out of the game,
and "drags" other people into his story, while loads of other crazy things happen (I know, that
sucked but I'm still watching it!). Then comes LIMINALITY, which is the story of what happens
in the real world during the events of //SIGN, but I won't give any spoilers... Then comes
the games, INFECTION, MUTATION, OUTBREAK and QUARANTINE. Five years later (I think?) is DUSK,
or UDEDEN or Legend of Twilight Bracelet, which starts with a prize campaign won by Shugo and
Rena, who gets the character of Kite and BlackRose, and is pretty much like the games, save
for some twists, (I'm still watching it) such as all the characters are Chibi and is pretty
funny overall...
In short, the story of this particular game (.hack//INFECTION) is to discover the source of an
accident that happened to a friend of yours while in "The World". Your friend, Yasuhiko,
introduces you to this game, and offers to help you in the beggining, but you are then attacked
inside a dungeon by a strange enemy, a strange girl appears and gives Orca (Yasuhiko's
character) a book, but the enemy performs a strange action (Data Drain) on your friend, killing
him in the game, the book disappears and you somehow escape.
Later on you discover your friend is comatose and in a hospital, but you can't visit him...
You return to play to "The World" in hopes of finding the answer to this, but you now have to
carry the same power the monster had...
Also, just so you know, this game is made of 4 Parts:
- .hack//INFECTION
- .hack//MUTATION
- .hack//OUTBREAK
- .hack//QUARANTINE
Each game contains a DVD with a chapter of the OVA .hack//LIMINALITY, there are 4 episodes, so
take a guess, if you buy all 4 parts you also get the full OVA.

This section explains all the different menus under your own Personal Menu.
Skills: This option opens your skill menu, where you can view your
+ Attack: Skills that deal damage directly to an enemy, must be in front to use.
+ Recovery: Skills that recover you or your party, from either the various statuses or to
recover their Hit Points.
+ Magic: Skills that deal damage to an enemy, enemies must be in sight to cast, range is not
a factor.
+ Weaken: Skills that decreases a certain parameter, can be any Physical, Magical or Elemental
attribute for a fixed amount of time.
+ Strengthen: Skills that increases a certain parameter, can be any Physical, Magical or
Elemental attribute for a fixed amount of time.
+ Data Drain: Skill only available to Kite, use it to decrease the level of an enemy, and to
obtain a rare item at the same time. Virus Cores can also be acquired with this
skill. Be aware that by the use of this skill Kite will be "infected", and if
you use it too much, it may lead to drive Kite berserk, and thus ending the game.
Further explanation of this skill can be read in "Data Drain".
Only "Recovery" and "Strengthen" skills may be used outside battle, but not in town.
Items: This opens your Item menu, where the following sections can be found.
+ Items: Displays items that can cure, raise certain parameters, and for other purposes.
More information in "Items".
+ Scrolls: Displays all scrolls you currently hold, these can deal damage, add negative
statuses to enemies, and lower their abilities. Some scrolls can also be used for
recovery purposes.
More information in "Scrolls".
+ Books: These can raise or lower your parameters by a certain ammount of points.
More information in "Books".
+ Treasure: These are obtained from the Gott Statues in the Dungeons, these can only be sold.
More information in "Treasure".
+ Equipment: These are all the equipment pieces you are carrying and are not equipped.
More information in "Weapons" and "Armor".
Key Items: This opens the list of all available Key Items.
+ Event Items: Items that are given because of an event, no use for them.
More information in "Event Items".
+ Grunty Food: The various foods you can give to a Grunty.
More information in "Grunty Foods".
+ Virus Cores: List of all available Virus Cores, these are needed to perform a Gate Hack.
More information in "Virus Cores" and "Gate Hacking".
+ Book of 1000: Displays all Ryu Books you currently have, open them for their own information.
More informatin in "Book of 1000".
Discarding Items: Simple, opens the items screen to discard excess items of your choice.
Status: Opens the status screen, press R1/L1 to switch between characters in your party.
+ Level: Character's level.
+ EXP: Character's current EXP Points, once they reach 1000, you'll level up.
+ Money: Character's current money.
+ Class: Character's class, certain weapons and armor are unusable by some classes.
+ Skills: All the skills you currently have dur to equipped Weapon and Armors.
+ Equipment: Lists your currently equipped Weapon and Armors.
+ Added Effects: Effects that may occur when dealing damage, these appear due to equipped
Weapons and Armor.
+ Parameters: Displays your parameters, these consist of:
+ Physical Attack: This affects the damage you can deal physically.
+ Physical Defense: This affects the damage you receive with physical attacks.
+ Physical Accuracy: Affects the probability of succesfully dealing a physical strike.
+ Physical Evade: Affects the odds of evading a physical attack.
+ Magical Attack: Affects the damage you can deal with a magic attack.
+ Magical Defense: Affects the damage you receive when attacked with magic.
+ Magical Accuracy: Affects the probability of the magical attack hitting the enemy.
+ Magical Evade: Affects the odds of evading a magical attack.
+ Elemental Attributes: Affects a particular element.
+ Earth, Thunder, Water, Fire, Darkness, Wood: Affects ______ Element attack and defense.
+ Spirit: Prevents curse, sleep, charm, confusion and magic down.
+ Body: Prevents poison, paralysis, slow, physical, and element down.
Equipment: Opens the equipment screen to switch between weapons and armors-
Party: Open this to either call or remove someone from your party. "Adress List".
+ Add: Add a character whose adress you already know. Certain characters may not respond due
to them not being logged on at the moment.
+ Remove: Removes a desired character from your current party.
+ Disband: Disbands the current party.
Area Information: Displays the information of the current area.
Gate Out: Only available when in a field and outside Battle Mode, use this to return to the
current server's town.
Log Out: Only available when in a town. Use it to log out and return to "The World" main screen.

At certain points of the games you will have to "Gate Hack" a Gate in order to progress.
Every other Gate you try to open won't need to be hacked.
You can get Virus Cores A, B and C from most enemies.
+ Virus Cores A: From "small" enemies.
+ Virus Cores B: From "medium" enemies.
+ Virus Cores C: From "large" enemies.
Also, the lower your Infection level is, the more odds you have to get a Virus Core.
All other cores you might need, such as P, Q and others will be obtained from Bosses.
To hack a Gate, just add the neccessary Virus Cores to where you must, just rotate the cells
with left or right, and add or remove them with up and down. Once you hack a Gate it will be
open forever and for all.

Controller: Switch between the 4 different modes. (A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2)
Vibrate: Turn On or Off the Vibration function.
Adjust Screen: Adjusts the screen with X and Y coordinates.
Sound: Changes the sound settings of the game.
Data Drain: Turns On or Off the animation of Data Drain.
Voiceover: Select the language characters will speak, either Japanese or English.
Moive Text: Turns subtitles On or Off.
Title Screen: Returns to the title screen of the game.

Once here, just try to kill the Goblin, it will only run around, and WON'T attack...
You'll get a "Goblin Cap", I suggest you store it in Elf's Haven. Once you make the full set,
you can summon a Goblin to attack, IF you have all pieces equipped... Gate out...
You can do two things, either Log Out and check your mail to advance the plot, or call
BlackRose and go to a field, I suggest to call BlackRose and go to a level 1 field. Your choice.
Just, whichever keywords you choose, open ALL portals in the field and dungeon, you'll know why
later, plus, it's extra EXP, so you can't complain... Use a Fairy's Orb in the field if you are
having problems... And do a couple Data Drains... If you see a Flame like object hovering,

You should be able to Data Drain it in no time, given of course you commanded to use Skills...

No, it's not another crazy room, but it is the lair of the final boss... Of this game at least..
I suggest you wait outside of the last room to recover all SP and HP, then get any kind of power
up from items (Bloods) and pray to survive, hehe...

Unleash everything you have, ALWAYS recover using potions, don't waste time casting Repth, if
someone get their HP below half, use Health Potions on him, if the wound is to big, go for a
Healing Potion.
If anyone dies, resurrect him/her. If you should die, issue a "First Aid!" command.
If he uses Judgement, and you don't have Defense bonuses up, expect some kick-ass damage on you,
it can easilly take out more than half of your HP, it usually does a damage of anywhere from
250 to up to 500 if defenses are low...
If he levitates for a small amount of time, run away from it, when he comes down, a small energy
wave will be created on the ground, dealing at least 150-250 points of damage...
And he can Data Drain you too! But no, you won't die and go into coma (Ok, bad joke), rather,
you will receive almost, if not all of the bad status ailments, just issue a "First Aid!" and
your partners should remove them, I think it also leaves you in 1-hit kill, don't knows about
this one...
Just, give it your best, when you are able to Data Drain him, you get a Virus Core F. Also, he
will deal more damage for some reason (It did for me at least), and the hovering maneuver will
take a hell less time to perform, making it almost impossible to evade...
Then sit back, and enjoy the crappy ending... Seriously! (The only thing I hate about
Multi-game series, the endings of all save for the last part sucks... Zone of the Enders,
anyone?)

When the game prompts you to save the Data Flag, save in your usual slot, unless you wish to
kick Skeith's behind again. Anyway, if you wonder, if you load the Data Flag you can still play,
as the game mentions it. If you save over it (IF you are playing the Data Flag file), it will
remain as a Data Flag, so you can keep hunting for Rare Items, and more...
Yes, we are not done yet, well, we are done with the story, but not with the game, should you
wish to finish the special dungeon, keep reading, besides, you still have the last round of
Goblin Tag to play right? And you might also want to hunt for those Rare Items which will make
your life easier in Mutation right? Right?
Once you go back to the main screen of ALTIMIT, check your mail, to receive a Virus Core T, and
the adress [Delta Hideous Someone's Giant], that's the secret dungeon...
Go check the Board also for the last "Let's Play Tag" adress, which is [Delta Detestable Golden
Gate], you need the Key Item you get here to actually be able to summon a Goblin...
First of all, go to [Delta] server and to [Delta Detestable Golden Gate] and get ready!
My favorite method, which is hard by the way, is to just go with a Warrior and Hunter Blood,
all topped off with a Speed Charm and RUN! After him that's it... Good luck... You'll get the
Imp's Pin, with that, equip all the Goblin Items to summon one!
Anyway, back in Root Town, buy items, restock on anything you might need, and call 2 persons,
whoever you want. My personal team was Kite, Mia and BlackRose, you go with the one you want,
but my strategy will be for those two as partners. (NOTE: I WILL NOT ACCEPT STRATEGIES!)
Also, DO NOT BRING A MAGIC USER!!! (Elk or Mistral) The Parasite Dragon is immune to Magic.

Just go South, then East twice, and clear both the North and South, then back. If you use
Bloods, use them again here, even if it's still on, you don't want the effect to die in the
middle of the battle, right? By the way, if you have a Burning Oil, use it, it will lessen the
damage done from the Parasite Dragon...

Let me remind you, that my strategy is done with Kite, Mia and BlackRose, you might tweak with
it enough to use with another characters, but anyway...
I set both Mia and BlackRose on skills. As for Kite, I moved to a corner and just kept healing,
either with Skills or Items doesn't matter, after, and ONLY after they Parasite Dragon breathes
fire, and I recover them, I usually go in for a Staccatto, for me, that's the best Skill of the
Twin Blades.
Once it reaches it's lower HP, you might wish to Data Drain from it to get the Rare Twin Blades,
Hyakkidouran, but in my opinion, the Bom-Ba-Ye are better, just look at the Weapon Chart right
below this for more info on them... If someone dies, bring up some bonuses, mainly the Physical
Attack and Accuracy, and Magical Defense, better if you can toss in a Fire Element Up...
Good Luck!
Once you are done with this, you are pretty much done with the game. It would be of your own
choice to try to get all the bonuses of the Ryu Books, or hunt for Rare Items.
Then, wait for .hack//MUTATION.
