Dark Cloud 2 is an imaginative and enchanting game, with a huge range of
activities to undertake, and it is also one of my favourite RPG adventures.
Looking at the FAQs I noticed there was no separate monster list or bestiary,
and since the monsters are varied and require different weapons and elemental
attacks to defeat them quickly, and also drop a vast range of items, I decided
this FAQ was needed! It might be a bit late in the day, but it was a lot of
fun to revisit the game and remember all the monsters.

1. Introduction
===============
When playing the game you will have access to 'Monster Notes' which is a blue
book that gives most of the details contained here, except that I have been
able to add precise percentages for the weapons' effectiveness against
particular enemies, and for the elemental strengths and weaknesses of all
monsters. You won't find the boss class enemies listed in the Monster Notes,
and the Mimic and King Mimic Chests are simply listed as that without
distinguishing between the different versions.
The Monster Notes lists all items that can be obtained from a monster, though
the first item listed as a drop is in fact one you can steal, and I have
followed the same convention in this FAQ. Even if you manage to steal an
item, it is still possible to receive another item from the same enemy if they
have one. If there are three items listed, then the last one is a rare drop
and much harder to obtain.

Search Code: Finding the one you want

You can check these lists to find a monster by location or class, and then if
you want to find the full details for any particular monster press Control + F
and type in the box that appears. If you are using a Mac it is either Apple
command button at the side of the space bar, + F, then type in the "Find" box
and select "Next". Type the name using CAPITALS, and select "Match Case" and
then press Enter. If you don't use capitals you will find more than one entry
for each monster, so make sure to do that if you just want the detailed
information on one of them.
