1A) PREFACE
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Welcome to my FAQ! Welcome to Vice City! Welcome to the '80s!!

Please note that this FAQ should be followed more closely than most other
strategy guides or walkthroughs. I can assure that it'll show you the easiest
and most effective way to complete "GTA: Vice City" 100%.

The FAQ starts with the Sub-missions (Paramedic, etc.) and collecting Hidden
Packages. You'll make use of the rewards obtained from these missions when
you're doing the main story missions. Well, you'll learn how to use them while
playing the game with the aid of this FAQ.

I've used every easiest way to finish the game to 100% completion in a step-
by-step series--EVERY EASIEST WAY! Now enough about me, so without further
more ado, let's get to the FAQ. Happy gaming!

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

1B) ABOUT THIS FAQ
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

1. The standard formatting rule for every text document--so that everyone
with different screen resolutions (640X480 800X600 1280X1024 etc.) can
view without scrolling to the side--is not to have any line over 79
characters. The formatting works and line alignments to this FAQ are
done with the help of the EditPlus Text Editor tool--an advanced
version of WordPad--following the standards, therefore, everyone can
        view it without re-editing.

        * Thanks to Mark Wynn for the EditPlus Text Editor tool tip.

For a better appearance (esp. for making any printout), open the FAQ
file in the text format and change the Font to "Courier New," Font
style to "Regular," and Size to ">=9."

        FAQ size: 356,983 bytes.

Printout details: 252,396 characters (no spaces),
                          7,952 lines, and
                          approx. 112 to 140--A4(210X297 mm)-sized--pages.

2. Although I haven't explained the Xbox controls, this FAQ should be
        applicable for the Xbox'ers also.

3. OK, on to the business at hand! Follow the systematic sequence of this
FAQ--it explains clearly for you why it's to your advantage to do
certain missions and when to do them.

4. This FAQ also refers to 3 superb maps made by two different authors.
They're helpful for various segments of the FAQ, so you should have
        them while using it.

        You can get them from:
<http://www.gameFAQs.com>--go to PS2 or PC, G, Grand Theft Auto Vice
        City, FAQs, then In-Depth FAQs.

        i. "Hidden Packages Map" by dark52.
        ii. "Rampages Map" by dark52.
iii. "Items and Jumps Map" by Slacker Bob.

5. There are NO cheats, spoilers, or any segments of unnecessary (boring)
information introduced in this FAQ. It only gives a clear-cut
methodology to use to complete the missions. Since I'm not against the
use of cheats in a single player game, use them as you wish.

(WARNING: DON'T save the game when certain cheats are switched on in
the PS2 version--this will CORRUPT the save file and you'll NEVER be
able to achieve 100% completion of the game.)

6. Always use the LATEST updated version (v9.x) of the FAQ. The most up-
to-date version can be easily downloaded from NeoSeeker or GameFAQs.
These are the ONLY Web sites where I personally update the latest file.

1C) CONTROLS
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

The controls listed are the default ones for the PS2 and PC versions (unless
otherwise noted). However, this FAQ--compatible to both PS2 and PC users--will
rarely name any keys to denote operations. I've capitalized the important
operations--ACCELERATE, FIRE, HANDBRAKE, and so forth--to make things crystal
clear. I hope it will help you a lot.

* Thanks to Robert Allen Rusk for his help with some of the controls.

2A) GENERAL ADVICE (Game related) *IMPORTANT*
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

1. Follow the FAQ exactly and do the missions when it tells you to. On
your own, you may want to perform Rampages, Unique Jumps, buy houses--
properties, etc., anytime you want. Avoid it as much as possible; let
the FAQ tell you when to do them. If you do them in a disorderly way
near the beginning, there's a chance you'll forget what you've done and
        everything will get messed up.

2. One more IMPORTANT thing! As the game goes by, you will be invited by
many employers to work for them where your in-game Map and radar show
an "L," "A," "phone," "Skull," etc. Don't ever attempt to do missions
for them early. The FAQ will tell you when it's to your best advantage
to do them. You'll have to wait a little longer to enjoy them, so BE
        PATIENT!

3. When you try cornering fast in a four wheeled vehicle, it may lean like
it's about to roll over. To avoid flipping when you feel it's about to
roll over to the left, hit LEFT + BACKWARDS. Likewise, when you feel
it might roll over to the right, hit RIGHT + BACKWARDS. This way, you
can try to balance your vehicle and keep it upright. Because, flipping
over the four wheeled vehicle will cause it to catch fire--and later
        will get exploded.

4. When you see your vehicle's (car/bike) caught fire while you're in/on
it, you can still exit it to escape before it explodes. It is
applicable while you're in moving, too.

5. When you're about to make a turn, let go of the accelerator, gently
hold LEFT or RIGHT + brake, then ACCELERATE. This way, your car will
make a tighter turn around the corner and speed forward.

6. When the fare or patient touches the door, ACCELERATE and they'll be
carried along and get in. Always hold HANDBRAKE and ACCELERATE
together when waiting for him and let go of HANDBRAKE when he touches
        the door.

7. Always slow down your vehicle while you're performing a drive-by or
        throwing pizzas.

8. When you get wanted stars in a vehicle, a cop can just open your door
and BUST you! If you're stuck in the middle of the road, don't try to
drive away--get out of the vehicle and keep away from the police. That
way, the cop may try to kill you but he's less likely to be able to
        bust you.

9. What happens at each wanted level:

1 star: A cop will chase (in a Police Car or on foot) you (Tommy) and
try to knock you down with a Nightstick or pull you from your
                vehicle and bust you.

2 stars: Two cops in a Police Car will chase you unceasingly and try to
bust you if you're in a vehicle. If you're on foot, any cops
nearby will try to shoot you to death with Pistols.

3 stars: A helicopter will join the enforcement and fire at you. Along
with the ordinary cops, "Vice Squad" agents will chase you in
"Vice Squad" Cheetahs and try to kill you with Uzi 9mms (PS2)/
Uz-Is (PC). Cops on the sidewalk roll out tire spike strips.

4 stars: SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) agents abseil from the
helicopter, and chase you in Enforcers, and shoot Uzi 9mms
                 (PS2)/Uz-Is (PC).

5 stars: You can get this wanted level after "Guardian Angels." The
FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) agents will chase you in
FBI Ranchers and try to kill you with powerful MP5 (PS2)/MP
                 (PC) guns.

6 stars: You can get this wanted level after "Rub Out." The Military
joins the enforcement and chases you in Barracks OLs and
Rhinos. The Rhino (tank) makes any vehicle it bumps explode.
The soldiers try to kill you with powerful M4s.

10. What should you do about wanted rating(s):

Surrender?! If you'd rather do that than get killed, get into any
vehicle and sit tight till a cop opens the door and busts you--easy as
        pie.

You want to live and go free?! Then for:

1 star: There's practically nothing you need to do. Run, drive, ride,
or fly anywhere, and the star will disappear in 10 to 30
seconds. You could also use a Bribe icon or an Outfit icon or
pay a visit to a nearby Pay 'n' Spray.

2 stars: Use a Bribe icon and run, drive, ride, or fly anywhere. You
could also use two Bribe icons, an Outfit icon, or pay a visit
                 to a Pay 'n' Spray.

        3, 4, 5, and 6 stars: Pay a visit to a Pay 'n' Spray or use Bribe
                              icons, Outfit icons, etc.

(NOTE 1: in most cases, wanted stars that appear during a mission will
vanish once you've completed the mission successfully.)

(NOTE 2: save your game and reload the same save file to get rid of any
        stars quickly.)

(NOTE 3: Glen T. Winstein informed me that the stars FLASH when you use
a Pay 'n' Spray to give you a "probation period." If you do anything
that would give you a wanted rating while they flash, the stars are
reinstated. Then you have to use whatever method you'd normally use to
        get rid of them.)

(NOTE 4: you'll start unlocking Outfit icons after "The Party.")

11. For a quick repair, put your beat-up vehicle in any of your garages
(you'll get the garages with some of the houses you buy later) and let
        the door close.

12. SAVE the game after finishing every Sub-mission and any other hard
mission. It's not required, but it insures that you save your
achievements. Reload your last saved game and you can start from that
point again. After you reload the game from your last save point, you
may get BUSTED, WASTED, or the game may CRASH.

(NOTE: saving or even just using a Save icon then resuming (without
saving) the game restores your Health to the maximum.)

13. CHEAT CODES?! PS2 users who've corrupted their save files with cheats
can only get 99%. Some PS2 cheats may cause a glitch that prevents you
from getting 100%. My advice is to practice honest gaming without
risking your neck. You can still use Cheat Codes while playing the
game provided you don't save the game.

(NOTE: the PS2 Health code, which can repair your vehicle, is an
exception. It won't corrupt your save game.)

(IMPORTANT: PS2 users, please read the "Frequently Asked Questions"
section before you do anything--esp. if you're aiming for the 100%
        mark.)

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

2B) GENERAL ADVICE (Map related)
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

1. Throughout the game, such as during the Sub-missions, the collection of
Hidden Packages, and even certain story missions, you'll frequently use
the in-game Map--at least 1000 times. Hit START (PS2)/Esc (PC) and
select Map--it can be a big help.

2. Point Tommy north to make the radar easier to compare with the in-game
        Map.

3. You should always take the MAIN roads whenever it's convenient while
doing the missions. (NOTE: when you are slowed down or confused by the
minor roads and alleys, head to the MAIN roads a.s.a.p.)

4. When necessary, FEEL FREE TO TRAVEL ON THE SEASHORE. Though your
vehicle is slower on sand, you can steer clear of traffic congestions,
        pedestrians,--esp. cops.

5. Memorize the locations of the Pay 'n' Sprays.

6. Memorize where the Bribe icons are located--you'll certainly need them
when you have wanted stars, especially two or more. (NOTE: use the
"Items and Jumps Map" by Slacker Bob to see their exact locations.)

OK, now it's time to get into the game.

(NOTE: under every story mission and Sub-mission, this FAQ gives you the save
places, vehicles, locations, levels to be completed, rewards, and the STEPS
you need to know for it. Carefully follow the STEPS any time you do a
  mission.)

3A) IN THE BEGINNING...
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

STEP BY STEP:

Step 1: Start a new game.

0-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --0
BEGINNING LINES
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
SONNY FORELLI: Tommy Vercetti... Huh! S**t. Didn't think they'd ever
let him out.

HENCHMAN: He kept his head down--helps people forget.

SONNY FORELLI: People will remember soon enough. When they see him
walking down the streets of their neighborhoods, it will be bad for
business.
0-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --0

Step 2: Take the car, an Admiral (Mercedes Benz E Klasse (W123) '76-'85), and
follow the pink blip on the radar to the hotel. (NOTE: this hotel is going to
be your main hideout soon.) Despite what the game tells says you can do, hit
START (PS2)/Esc (PC) and choose Map.

Step 3: You can find the pink icon on the first MAIN ROAD. (NOTE: this MAIN
road, the MAIN road of the Vice Point, and the MAIN road of the west island
will be the main roads you travel on in the future.)

Step 4: On your way, you can hear an announcement over the radio that all the
bridges are closed due to the bad weather conditions. Just pay no attention to
it. Stop your car in the pink shaft of light.

Step 5: Now that you can get a good look at the Ocean View Hotel, enter it and
go into the pink shaft of light at the base of the staircase.

Step 6: After the cutscene is over, you will be told to follow the "L" on the
in-game Map to get to the Lawyer's office. Just pay it no mind.

Step 7: Walk into the pink token with a cassette image (Save icon) to save your
game. (NOTE: have at least three copies of your save files, and make updated
copies of your save file regularly, and take turns using them.) Now it's time
to do the Sub-missions. Follow the STEPS given in this FAQ very carefully.

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

3B) SUB-MISSIONS STARTED
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

(IMPORTANT: the MAIN thing to avoid during Sub-missions is to alert the cops,
for Gosh's sake. Getting 1 star can be tolerable, but accidentally running
over a cop will give you 2 stars. They won't go away till you use a Bribe
icon or a Pay 'n' Spray.)

   3B.0.1) SUB-MISSIONS: AN OVERVIEW
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

1. Over 85% of the time in "GTA: Vice City," you (Tommy Vercetti) are,
without a doubt, a WANTED man who is dealing with narcotics, killing
gangsters, fighting cops, porn films, a stripclub, whores, the black
market, smuggling...all kinds of s**t. However, for at least 5% of the
game, you've been given the chance to reveal your humanity and
kindness, so you'll swell with pride when playing Sub-missions. DUH!

(NOTE: even though you'll be playing as a GOOD GUY for them, the cops
will still hate you. So, avoid attracting their attention.)

2. The Sub-missions can be activated by hitting the Sub-mission key when
        you're in the corresponding vehicle.

3. The Sub-missions are time-based, so you have to be fast and faster for
        them.

4. While driving on the seashore, drive very slowly to keep the vehicle
balanced. If you drive fast, you may flip the vehicle and destroy it,
        and fail the mission.

5. There is a total of five Sub-missions in "GTA: Vice City." All five
Sub-missions should be successfully completed to certain levels to get
the five great rewards they offer and get 100% completion of the game.
So whether they're hard for you or not, finish those missions early on
        in the game.

6. Follow the FAQ exactly. It not only teaches you how to complete these
missions EASILY but also helps you USE the rewards efficiently later.

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

   3B.0.2) FAILING SUB-MISSIONS
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

  You will fail the mission,

1. when you are busted (got caught by a cop).

2. when your vehicle catches on fire, explodes, and you are wasted.

3. when you fall into the water and drown (feed the fishes).

4. when you leave the vehicle during the mission (except in the Vigilante
        Mission and Pizza Boy Mission).

5. when you accidentally or knowingly hit the Sub-mission key during the
        mission.

6. when you run out of time.

7. when the passenger or customer is killed (except for the criminals in
        the Vigilante Mission).

  The five Sub-missions:

1. Taxi Mission
2. Paramedic Mission
3. Pizza Boy Mission
4. Vigilante Mission
5. Fire Truck Mission

The first Sub-mission is the Taxi Mission.

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

   3B.1) TAXI MISSION
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Overview:
In this mission, you will be a taxi driver. Some citizens will want you to
take them somewhere (usually a long distance away). You'll be given a time
limit and the passenger will want you to get them there before the time runs
out. This FAQ will help you do 100 CONSECUTIVE FARES. Though it's not
necessary to do them consecutively, you'll make a hell of a lot of money that
way. (For every five passengers that are dropped off consecutively, you get a
BONUS: the number of fare times $100.) GO FOR 100 CONSECUTIVE FARES!

Difficulty rating: 3/10 in general (6/10 for 100 consecutive fares)
Reward rating: 1/10

Vehicles:
There are four different types of Taxis that can be used.
- Taxi (Ford LTD '83-'85)
- Cabbie (Checker Taxicab '56-'82)
- Kaufman Cab (Checker Taxicab '56-'82)
- Zebra Cab (Checker Taxicab '56-'82)

* The Zebra Cab will be unlocked after a later mission of the game.
First, you have to buy the Taxi Company Kaufman Cabs (a yellow building
south of Phil's Place). Before buying Kaufman Cabs, you have to
complete a chain of missions--you only get the Zebra Cab after passing
the mission, "Cabmaggedon," of the Taxi Firm. You cannot wait that
l-o-n-g to finish this easy mission. Therefore, forget about the Zebra
        Cab for now!

* IMO, the Taxi is the best vehicle to perform the Taxi Mission with,
anyway. Cabbies and Kaufman Cabs, though they're tough and speedy,
        have the worst cornering.

* You have a radio in all the Taxis, and that is NICE!

Locations:
Walk out of the Ocean View Hotel (your main hideout) and look for any Taxis
passing by.

Levels:
You have to drop off 100 passengers, not consecutively, in the time required
for each delivery to complete the Taxi Mission.

Rewards:

- The main reward is that all the Taxis in the game will get the hydraulic jump
feature. After dropping off 100 passengers, if you hit the HORN, your Taxi
will jump; the faster you go, the higher you can jump.

- Have fun in jumping over the other vehicles esp. the police cars. ;-)

- The other rewards are having a lot of money at an early stage of game,
knowing the roads and short cuts of the map, and getting good at handling any
  vehicle.

STEP BY STEP:

Step 1: As I said earlier, disregard the "L" symbol on the in-game Map and look
outside for a Taxi.

Step 2: Get into the Taxi. (NOTE: never pick a Cabbie--Cabbies have poor
cornering and topple very easily. Kaufman Cabs aren't bad, but Taxis have the
best handling of the group.)

Step 3: Don't hit the Sub-mission key now as the game tells you to. Look at
the Map and drive around for a little while. This will let you get familiar
with the MAIN roads, other minor roads, Pay 'n' Sprays, Ammu-Nations, Tool
stores, etc.

Step 4: After getting familiar with the ROADS, it is time to travel fast on the
seashore. Go north and south over the length of the seashore at least TWICE.

Step 5: After getting to know little about Vice City, you're ready to start
working on a REAL mission.

Step 6: Park your Taxi in front of your hideout facing the beach. Hit the Sub-
mission key now.

Step 7: You'll see a yellow dot on your in-game Map, which represents a
passenger with a pink arrow pointing down to their head whom you have to give a
ride. Just stop near them (don't run over them). As I mentioned before, hold
the HANDBRAKE and ACCELERATE together; once the passenger touches the door,
release the HANDBRAKE and gun it.

Step 8: The game tells you the destination at the bottom of the screen and
shows you the drop off point with a pink dot on the radar. It will give you a
certain amount of time to do it in. (NOTE: if the time given is less than a
minute, cancel the mission by hitting the Sub-mission button. We can't start
with the minimum time and having you feel too rushed on your first try.)

Step 9: Press START (PS2)/Esc (PC) and choose Map. Now you can see your
destination and plan your route.

Step 10: Choose the MAIN road that takes you to the minor road(s) you need to
use.

Step 11: Watch out for the traffic, cops, pedestrians, vehicles, signal-posts,
trees, and any other obstructions--hitting them and getting back on track takes
up valuable time. I recommend that you switch to the LEFT lane whenever you
don't see any vehicles coming toward you on it--whichever lane is clear at the
moment.

Step 12: The destination is shown by a glowing pink shaft of light. Apply
HANDBRAKE and brake to stop in it and the fare will be counted. The game will
continue to give you passengers till you fail the mission.

Step 13: Be glad that you sometimes get the BEACH as a destination. It's easy
to travel on the seashore. You save time on travel because you don't have to
worry about vehicle accidents. Be careful not to hit the people on it, though
--especially the cops. (NOTE: go at the fastest controllable speed. Try to
avoid flipping by using the advice mentioned earlier.)

Step 14: When you've damaged your car and your passenger flees, it doesn't mean
you've failed the mission. You're allowed to look for new fares but,
unfortunately, they're afraid to get into your beat-up Taxi. Use a Pay 'n'
Spray to repair it. There are two Pay 'n' Sprays on the first island: one in
Ocean Beach and one in Vice Point. (I hope you memorized their locations
earlier so you don't have a hard time searching for them.)

Step 15: Patiently drop the passengers off safely. Whenever you need to get
your Taxi patched up, don't hesitate to go to a Pay 'n' Spray. Doing 100 FARES
CONSECUTIVELY is really boring! Nevertheless, once you've done 100, you're
closer to 100% completion of the game, so GO FOR IT even if it tires you out.
Don't forget that getting 100 CONSECUTIVE FARES gives you MORE MONEY BONUSES,
so don't quit. Get Tommy into another Taxi if you need to and keep going.

Step 16: After the 100th passenger is dropped off, the game will tell you about
the reward stuff. Then go to your hideout and save the game. (Walk into the
pink token with a cassette image (Save icon) to save your game.)

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

   3B.2) PARAMEDIC MISSION
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Overview:
In this mission, you're an ambulance driver. It's different than the Taxi
Mission--in this one, you have to pass through levels. At the first level,
one patient will be waiting for you. You have to take them to the nearest
hospital (easy as a walk in the park?). As the levels increase, the number
of patients increase likewise (level 5--5 patients, etc.). The unfortunate
thing is that an Ambulance can only accommodate 3 patients at a time (do you
see the difficulty now?). Yeah, from the fourth level on, you have to make
more than one trip to and from the hospital. It's timed, so it makes the
mission a little tougher. Don't panic--it's a little hard on your patience
because of the repetition of it, but not so hard you can't finish it. You
can finish it with only a little difficulty after reading the following plan.
LET'S RESCUE THE PEOPLE AND SAVE THEIR LIVES!

Difficulty rating: 8/10 (due to repetition)
Reward rating: 10/10 (trust me, the reward is SUPERB)

Vehicle:
Ambulance (Ford E350 Diesel Ambulance '86)

Locations:
- Ocean Beach
- Vice Point
- Little Havana and
- Downtown
- Just kill some pedestrians with a melee weapon, and in a little bit you'll
hear the siren--yeah, the medics have arrived in an Ambulance.

Levels:
You have to complete Level 12. The number of patients is the same as the
number of the level. At the first level, there will be about enough time to
pick up one patient; then about enough time to deliver them to the nearest
hospital. At the second level there are two patients, etc., till at the last
level there are twelve patients. Failing the mission will put you back at
Square One. (NOTE: read the ways of failing any Sub-mission above.)

Rewards:

- The main reward is the Infinite Run--you can sprint infinitely without
waiting to catch your breath. It is the BEST and MOST USEFUL reward of all
the Sub-mission rewards. You'll appreciate how helpful this is when doing
the story missions and Rampages later. Completing this mission early in the
game makes your life MUCH EASIER for the rest of the game, so even when the
mission seems to be hard, DON'T GIVE UP!

- Otherwise, you're rewarded by having a lot of money early in the game,
knowing the roads and short cuts of the map, and becoming a more experienced
  driver.

STEP BY STEP:

Bravo! You've begun the game with a huge success: getting 100 CONSECUTIVE
FARES is impressive. I hope you now have a better idea of the layout of the
roads in Ocean Beach and Vice Point.

Go to the Vice Point area--the next two missions will be done there.

Now that you have a hell of a lot of money, ever thought of what you're going
to do with it? Let's BUY a house.

Step 1: You're going to own an aesthetically-pleasing bungalow with a garage.
It's called El Swanko Casa (it costs 8 Gs, but the cost won't bother you now).

The location: drive north on the MAIN road till you see the Vice Point
police station (you might be accustomed with the location of it from the Taxi
Mission). Pass the police station slowly and look for the traffic signals.
Stop in the middle of the road and look to the left. The big stucco building
is the property to buy. Take the shortcut to your left, pass the first
building, and El Swanko Casa is just south of the T intersection.

(If you still have no idea where the property is, hit Map and find the North
Bridge. The eastern section of the North Bridge connects Prawn Island and the
east island. From the east end of it, go east, follow the curve south, and
continue to the end of the road--a T intersection. You'll see El Swanko Casa
across the street.)

Walk into the pink icon with green house image (Property icon) and press the
button L1 (PS2)/Tab (PC) to buy the house. After buying this property, the
pink icon with a cassette image (Save icon) will appear. Save your game there.

Step 2: Walk out of your new house. Cross the intersection and look on the
right side of the road to find the Shady Palms Hospital. That's where you're
going to begin your next Sub-mission. When you go to the entrance of the
hospital, you'll find an Ambulance near a rotating Health icon. (NOTE: if you
don't see an Ambulance, leave and come back to let the game load on.)

Step 3: Get into it.  (NOTE: if the Ambulance is locked, leave and come back;
the locking is programmed to happen randomly.)

Step 4: Don't hit the Sub-mission key now though the game says you can. We've
got to do a practice session to get used to this stupid vehicle. Just check
the Map occasionally and take a little drive to Prawn Island and various
locations on the east island. A little journey to the Ocean View Hotel will
be good enough. Take your time to practice cornering and making sudden stops.

Step 5: After getting the idea of how the ROADS are laid out, drive over the
beach at a moderate speed. Drive the length of it, north to south and back, at
least twice. Drive with the utmost care--a little bump can cause the Ambulance
to flip over.

Step 6: Avoid accidents, esp. when you carry patients later. (NOTE: each bump
and collision not only decreases the Health of your delicate vehicle, but also
of the patients inside it, which decreases the time for their survival.)

Step 7: OK, we have to get to the REAL job at hand. Park your Ambulance in
front of the hospital facing west. Hit the Sub-mission key.

Step 8: Each yellow dot on your radar represents a patient with a pink arrow
pointing down at their head that you have to pick up. Hit the START button
(PS2)/Esc key (PC) and select Map to see the location(s) of the patient(s) and
plan your fastest route.

Step 9: Rely on the MAIN road of Vice Point as much as possible. Keep in mind
the route(s) you planned for the yellow dot(s). When you approach each
patient, just go close enough to trigger their response. Be careful not to run
them over. (NOTE: if you even touch the patient with the Ambulance, they may
die instantly, so always maintain a safe gap between your vehicle and the
patient. Stop with the patient on the right side of the Ambulance whenever
possible so they don't run in front of the truck to get into it.)

Step 10: To save time, always park so you can pick up the patient with the back
door. As mentioned earlier, hold the HANDBRAKE and ACCELERATE together while
you wait. Once the patient touches the door, release the HANDBRAKE.

Step 11: Avoid hitting the traffic, cops, pedestrians, vehicles, signal-posts,
trees, and any other obstructions, especially when you are traveling fast. I
recommend that you use whichever lane is clear at the time. (NOTE: you can
also press horn several times to use the siren to cause the traffic to pull
over, but I don't recommend it; this is optional. They may pull over into your
path.)

Step 12: The radar will show you the location of hospital you departed from.
Park in the pink light there to drop off your first patient.

Step 13: At level 2, you see two yellow dots on your radar. As usual, hit
START/Esc, choose Map, locate the patients, and memorize your shortest route.
(NOTE: always pick up the patient who is farthest away from the hospital at
first. While you're making your journey back to the hospital, you can pick up
a couple more along the way.)

Step 14: Be glad that you're often given patients on the BEACH! It's easier to
travel on the beach. You not only save time but also avoid police cars.
(NOTE: when driving the Ambulance, go at a controllable speed. When you feel
it's going to flip, use the advice mentioned earlier.)

Step 15: After level 4, the real difficulty begins. As I said earlier, the
Ambulance can only carry 3 patients on a trip, so you have to make at least two
trips per level from level 4 onward. You go back and forth even more at higher
levels (for level 10, you have to pick up and drop off 3 times 3 patients, then
one more, for a total of four trips). As mentioned earlier, it's time-
consuming. But if you can keep control over the vehicle, the mission is easy.

Step 16: Complete each level patiently. Once you finally finish the 12th
level, the game will announce that Tommy has the infinite run ability.

Now go to El Swanko Casa and save the game.

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

   3B.3) PIZZA BOY MISSION
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Overview:
Now it is your turn to wrap up your driver jobs with a pizza delivery
mission. It's very different from your last two missions. In this one, you
have to use a two-wheeler--the red and yellow Pizza Boy moped. After
activating the mission by getting on the bike, the owner of the restaurant will
tell you to deliver his orders to some people. The people will be waiting on
the sidewalks for their pizzas. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? JUST SERVE 'EM UP!

Difficulty rating: 6/10 (repetitious)
Reward rating: 7/10

Vehicles:
Pizza Boy (customized Piaggio Vespa PX 200 '84-'86)

Locations:
- Vice Point
- Little Haiti and
- Downtown

Levels:
The highest level is 10. In this mission, you collect 6 pizzas from the
owner on each trip to the store and deliver them to the customers. You're
given 5 minutes for each level to deliver the pizzas. In this time, in level
1, you have to deliver a pizza to one customer, in level 2--two customers...and
in level 10--ten customers. It's easy, because you get used to the mission
just from doing it. As the levels increase, you'll quickly learn how to manage
your time good enough for the deliveries. The unfortunate thing is you can
only carry 6 pizzas at a time in your moped, so starting with level 5, you have
to make a second trip during the level to collect another 6 pizzas from the
shop. Failing the mission will you put you back at Square One. (NOTE: read
the ways of failing any Sub-mission above.)

Rewards:

- The main reward is that your maximum Health will increase from 100 to 150.
Isn't it good to have an extra 50% Health to fight the drug dealers with?

- This reward is really USEFUL for later story missions and Rampages.

- The other rewards are having more money at an early stage of the game,
getting used to the roads and map, and getting good at handling a bike.

* Your moped has a radio, and that's COOL!

STEP BY STEP:

Congratulate yourself on finishing the Paramedic Mission--it's the HARDEST
mission in the Game. There is no doubt about it! At least Rockstar Games made
it easier than in "GTA 3." If you played "GTA 3," I know you'd notice the
difference. If you can learn to handle this experience, you should be able to
learn to handle any type of vehicle in the game. You also have enough money to
BUY another house.

Step 1: Now you're going to BUY another nice place with a garage. The property
is called Links View Apartment, and it's in the Leaf Links area. (It costs 6
Gs, but the cost won't be any trouble now.) To get there, just head to the Pay
'n' Spray in the Vice Point area. Stand in front of the Pay 'n' Spray and look
to your left at a tall apartment building. Drive up the ramp, walk into the
pink icon with green house image (Property icon), and press the button L1
(PS2)/Tab (PC) to buy the house. After buying this property, the pink icon
with a cassette image (Save icon) will appear. Save your game there.

Step 2: Now it's time to train for drive-by shootings. You will need an SMG--a
submachine gun--to perform drive-bys. The SMGs you can get currently are:

  i. Uzi 9mm (PS2)/Uz-I (PC) ~ (behind the Pay 'n' Spray in Washington Beach
and on the front porch of the most northern
                                  house on Prawn Island.)

ii. Ingram MAC 10 (PS2)/Mac (PC) ~ (Buy it from the Ammu-Nation in Ocean
                                       Beach.)

iii. Tec-9 ~ (Go west over the little bridge west of the pizza shop in Vice
Point, turn right, and go to the circular end of the dead end
road. Stay away from the pink icon with a skull symbol. NE of
this pink icon is a short pink house. Follow the path on the
right side of it to the end.)

Step 3: Now search for any motorcycle. (I'd recommend a Faggio (Piaggio Vespa
PX 200 '84-'86); there's one on the sidewalk SE of the Washington Beach Police
Station (VCPD HQ).)

Step 4: You can perform a drive-by by pressing LOOK LEFT + FIRE or LOOK RIGHT +
FIRE. Drive to the BEACH. You can see a lot of people walking, standing, or
sunbathing on the shore. Go by them slowly and do a drive-by. Try to get the
targets while you're moving. Take your time till you get used to doing a
drive-by. (NOTE: now you're used to doing a drive-by, an ability which will
help you in later missions.) When you're through practicing, go to the pizza
store.

Step 5: The pizza store is across the street to the west of the Bribe icon
which is on the corner that's north of the Malibu Club in the Vice Point area.
Another way to get to the pizza store is to go east over the little bridge by
the dead end road we were on a little earlier.

Step 6: Go around the outside of the pizza shop and you'll find a moped parked
near the drive-through window. (NOTE: if you don't find it there, go away and
come back to let the game load a new one.)

Step 7: Get onto it. (NOTE: the mission will be activated when you get onto
the moped--there's no need to press the Sub-mission key.)

Step 8: You're given 5 minutes and 6 pizzas at the start of the mission. As
always, when you leave the store to make deliveries, hit START (PS2)/Esc (PC),
choose Map, and memorize the shortest way over the MAIN road and others you
need to use to reach the customer(s).

Step 9: Approach the customer at a moderate speed and slow down or stop to
perform a drive-by. (NOTE: this time you only need to throw one pizza to a
waiting customer. You don't need to have 100% accuracy, but at least throw it
close enough for them to get it.)

Step 10: Watch them carefully: when you see them going for a pizza, it means
it's been delivered. Take off!

Step 11: As with the Paramedic Mission, you have to keep returning to the base
of the job for more orders. You've moved on to level 2. There are two
customers, each in a different location. As usual, press START (PS2)/Esc (PC),
choose Map, find the customers, and memorize the most direct way, relying on
the main road when convenient, to reach the customer who is the FARTHEST AWAY.

(NOTE: always deliver to the customer who is the farthest away from the store
first; you can take care of the other customer(s) on your way back to the
  shop. Make your deliveries.)

Step 12: It starts to get harder during level 5, because you have to come back
to the shop for more pizzas during the level. So always deliver pizzas to the
customers who are the farthest away from the shop first, and save the closest
customer for LAST. Again, make the first delivery to the customer who's the
farthest away and take care of the rest on your way back to the pizza store.
When you take a second batch of pizzas during one level, go to the ones close
to you first.

Step 13: You'll learn anything else you need to know about it by just doing it.
That's all there is to completing the Pizza Boy Mission.

Step 14: After completing the mission, go to your main hideout (the Ocean View
Hotel) and save the game.

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

3C) COLLECTING HIDDEN PACKAGES--BEGINNING
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Overview:
The 100 rotating glowing green statues placed all over Vice City are called
Hidden Packages. By collecting them, you make money. And for every 10 Hidden
Packages you collect, you unlock another GREAT weapon in your main hideout.
Without help, you can't find them as easily as by taking a walk in the park
(hence the name "hidden"), but by using the map designed by dark52 you can find
them easily. It's a good time for you to get the weapons you're rewarded with
for finding the packages, and they'll always be available at your save place
(and at a couple of save places you'll get later on). So, again: WHAT ARE YOU
WAITING FOR?!

Difficulty rating: 5/10 (because it's time-consuming)
Reward rating: 9/10 (EXCELLENT)

Levels:
All you have to do is collect 100 Hidden Packages in various spots all around
Vice City. (NOTE: since the bridges are closed now due to a hurricane warning,
you can't enter most of the other islands and collect most of the Hidden
Packages right now. After completing the mission "Four Iron," Leaf Links will
be open, after "Guardian Angels," Starfish Island will be open, and after
"Phnom Penh '86," the radio will announce that all the bridges are reopened
because the hurricane didn't hit the city.)

Rewards:

- For every 10 Hidden Packages you collect, you'll unlock another weapon in
  your main hideout.

- You get money for every Hidden Package you collect.

STEP BY STEP:

Wow! Now you have the two of the best features you can have--the infinite
run and 150 Health. It's a good time for you to explore one of the islands.

(NOTE 1: you'll explore the west island later--the FAQ will tell you when.)

(NOTE 2: on your journey, you may happen to see some strange pink icons with
a skull in the center of each (Rampage icons). Avoid even touching them--or
you'll trigger Rampage missions. The FAQ will tell you when the time comes
  to perform those.)

PART I - HIDDEN PACKAGES IN VICE CITY EAST
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Step 1: Leave the hotel and jack any vehicle you want.

Step 2: As I mentioned at first, keep dark52's Hidden Packages Map at hand.
(NOTE: you can get the map from <www.gameFAQs.com>--go to PS2 or PC, G, "Grand
Theft Auto Vice City," FAQs, and look under In-Depth FAQs. This FAQ will give
you the order to collect the Hidden Packages in. Follow the same order, repeat
the SAME ORDER!

Step 3: Now you own one main hideout (Ocean View Hotel) and 2 other properties
(El Swanko Casa and Links View Apartment), and now you'll be collecting all
the Hidden Packages from the area.

HP #4 - On the steps of the lighthouse.

HP #3 - Go to the southernmost area and find a gray building next to a
helipad. The package is rotating near the steps of the back entrance.

HP #5 - Go northwest on the sidewalk and turn left into the parking lot.
You'll find an underground car park on your right side. Go inside and
        collect.

HP #6 - Leave the underground car park, and drive right. Actually, that
curvy sidewalk is meant for walking, but you can drive over it. When
you reach the road, you'll see the Ocean View Medical Foundation on
your left. Drive up the steps, park by the ledge on the north side of
the entrance, jump on your vehicle (use your vehicle as a step), and
jump on the lawn (be careful not to touch the Rampage icon). Walk
around the building so you can grab the package.

HP #7 - Now you have to go to the closed South Bridge. Take the narrow walk
around the bridge abutment on the right (north) side and get the
        package that's under the bridge.

HP #11 - Go east across the street from the Lawyer's office to a house (which
you'll buy later). Walk on the porch around to the back porch to get
         the package.

HP #12 - From your last package, drive north until you see a small bridge. As
you did for HP #7, just walk on the right (east) side of it on the
lawn and you'll see the package.

HP #16 - Go to the Bunch of Tools shop in Washington Beach area. Look west to
see 2 apartments. Walk around the southern side of the short pink
         house to grab the package.

HP #17 - Go to the west end of the apartment and into the north end of a row of
outdoor multi-colored showers to find the package.

HP #18 - Go to the next bridge to the north, the one that leads to Starfish
Island, and take the path that goes under the bridge. Grab it.

(NOTE: BODY ARMOR is delivered to the hall by your main hideout now.)

HP #14 - Go east, passing the police station (VCPD HQ), and go to the steps
of one of the small lifeguard huts that are due east of the police
         station. Just seize the package.

HP #9 - Go to the big pink building that's east-northeast of Washington Mall.
Walk up the gray steps on the south side of the building and find the
package near the swimming pool in the back lot.

Step 4: you've collected 12 Hidden Packages out of 100. Now that's good! Go
back to your main hideout to save the game. Afterwards, if you walk up the
stairs and down the hall, you can find your BODY ARMOR. And that's great!

Step 5: Go to your Links View Apartment and save the game.

HP #20 - Enter the construction site through a gap in the fence on the west
side, go up the wooden ramps, and walk out along a girder that's
poking up and out to the west to collect the package.

HP #21 - Leave the construction site. Opposite to it, you'll see a row of
similar small houses. Walk around the houses and you'll notice a
wooden jetty on the waters edge. Grab the package.

HP #23 - Go directly north of the Malibu club and you'll see a small walled-in
lot; the package is rotating in the SE corner.

HP #25 - Come out and look east. There, you can notice Vice Point Langer (WK
Chariot Hotel on PC). Climb up the right-hand side concrete ramp. Go
to the backyard of the hotel. Reach the NW corner of the back
courtyard (a large swimming pool area on PC) and get the package.

HP #26 - Go into the pizza shop and look in front of the counter. Obtain it.

HP #27 - Go to the small apartment building across the street directly east of
the pizza restaurant. Look behind the steps to find the package.

HP #28 - The road you just crossed leads north. Go north on it and shortly
you'll notice a white jewelry shop to your left--the only shop you can
enter on this road. Walk inside and behind the counter to get the
         package.

HP #29 - To the south of Links View Apartment you'll see a modern-looking
building with ramps and patios. Go to the NW corner of the grounds
and turn around to face south. The package is in front of the door.
         Grab the package.

(NOTE: the CHAINSAW is delivered to your main hideout.)

HP #30 - This is on the roof of the building that's across the street to the
east of your last package. Climb up the stairs, go to the roof, go
left, turn right when the roof allows it, jump onto the lower roof,
and turn left to acquire the package.

HP #31 - Find the Bribe icon east of Links View Apartments. From the icon,
travel north till the fences' limit, then turn right (east), and then
into the fence opening. Collect the package that's behind a palm
         tree.

Step 6: Now go to your El Swanko Casa and save the game there. Check your
Stats: you should have 22 Hidden Packages. There are more to collect on the
east island.

HP #32 - Go to the massive building (which is facing NW) on the hairpin bend
that points W and which is SW of North Point Mall. Go up the steps,
and go right to the inside corner of the bend. The package is
camouflaged by being in front of the green bushes. Snatch it.

HP #33 - Go to the diving board on the east side of the same building. Climb
up the steps to the top and collect the package.

HP #34 - Drive to the North Bridge in the northern Vice Point area. The
package is at foot of the southern side of the E end of the bridge.
         Just steal it.

HP #36 - Take a journey to the E side of North Point Mall and cross the street
to a tall yellow and white striped building. Go left from the top off
the entrance steps and grab the Armor if you don't have your maximum
for it. Walk around to the back of the building to get the package.

HP #37 - Follow the road to the north side of the mall. Right between the two
big signs that say "North Point Mall" is a niche containing the
         package. Grasp the package.

HP #38 - Go inside to the middle of the east side of the second floor to find
the storefront with large red sale signs on it. Acquire the package
         there.

HP #39 - In the middle of the south side of the second floor, go into the Gash
clothes store and jump over the tables by the escalator to reach the
         package.

HP #40 - Go into the multi-story car park on the west side of the mall. Turn
right, look along the wall, and grab it.

(NOTE: the PYTHON (PS2)/.357 (PC) is delivered to your main hideout.)

HP #35 - On the north side of the beach, by the dirt track, look behind a blue
and white striped billboard that advertises "JOCK SPORT." Steal the
         package.

Step 7: The time has arisen for you to OWN another house. Finding the location
of the greenish house is simple: hit START (PS2)/Esc (PC) and choose Map; the
property is the most NE building in the whole city and across the street from
North Point Mall. The name of it is 3321 Vice Point and it costs 2.5 Gs. Walk
into the pink icon with green house image (Property icon), and press the button
L1 (PS2)/Tab (PC) to buy the house. After buying this property, the pink icon
with a cassette image (Save icon) will appear. Save your game there.

Check your Stats: you should have collected 31 Hidden Packages. There are
only three more to get on the east island now.

HP #41 - Go to Prawn Island with the help of the map. Take the first left and
look on the right side of the road, by a police bribe, for an alley.
Go to the end of the alley and grab the package.

HP #44 - Go to the northernmost part of the most northern road on Prawn Island
and look north. You'll see two old fashioned buildings on either side
of you (ignore the middle one ahead of you). Each one contains a
Hidden Package. Go to the green building to the west, walk up the
stairs, turn right, and go around the house on the porch to steal the
         package.

HP #45 - Now enter the yellow building to the east and look right and up to see
the big hole in the wall. The Hidden Package is rotating in the room
behind that wall. To jump into the hole, climb up the stairs and take
the balcony to the hole--carefully drop down the hole. Acquire the
package and climb up the ramp and out of the hole.

Step 8: Go all the way back to your main hideout and save the game.

Step 9: Check your Stats: you should have completed 3 Sub-missions and
collected 34 Hidden Packages, and increased your game percentage considerably.
This FAQ will lead you to the rest of the Hidden Packages later in the game;
shortly, you'll be doing some story missions.

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

3D) STORY MISSIONS CONTINUED
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Overview:
The story missions are the REAL HEART of any "GTAs," so you'll be having a
lot of fun playing them. These missions will seem real easy since you've had
experience in dealing with the toughest missions already. HAVE FUN!!

Vehicles:
Use any vehicle you want in most cases. In some missions you'll be given a
suitable vehicle that you ought to use.

Levels:
Since the bridges are closed due to bad weather, you're stuck on the east
island for now. Consequently, you'll now be doing a few missions there. After
finishing "Phnom Penh '86," the bridges will be reopened, and you can visit the
west island and play there.

Rewards:
After completing each mission successfully, you'll be paid an amount of money
that's determined by the difficulty of the mission.

Locations:
The location for triggering any story mission can be seen on your radar and
in-game Map (read the Map Legend). When you go to one, you'll notice a pink
shaft of light--just go into it to activate the mission.

STEP BY STEP:

Step 1: Come out of your main hideout and jack any vehicle. Now go to the "L"
on your in-game Map and walk into the pink glow to trigger the mission.

Step 2: Do the story missions in the following order.

   3D.1) KEN ROSENBERG ~ ("L" symbol)

      i) THE PARTY

1. After triggering the mission you ought to go to the first destination--
        Rafael's clothes shop.

2. After changing your outfit, you will notice that the game encourages
you to steal a Freeway (Harley Davidson Shovelhead '76) motorcycle.
Just be aware that the bike's driver will chase you after you jack it,
and will pull you off if he catches up with you.

3. Go to Colonel Cortez' party (Pier 2). After triggering the mission,
watch the cutscene. You'll be introduced to some of the men who give
        you jobs later.

4. Get into the Stretch (Cadillac DeVille Limo '86) and head to the final
destination--Pole Position Club carrying Miss Cortez.

(NOTE 1: the Street outfit ($50) is unlocked at your main hideout.)

(NOTE 2: the Soiree outfit ($100) is unlocked at Rafael's clothes shop.)

(NOTE 3: you may use any Outfit icon get rid of a wanted rating up to two
  stars.)

(NOTE 4: grab some weapons before going for the next mission.)

      ii) BACK ALLEY BRAWL

1. Walk into the pink shaft of light ("L" symbol on the radar) to trigger
a cutscene. After being briefed by the lawyer, jack any car and go to
        the destination.

2. After you've been briefed by Kent Paul, go to another location. Kill
the chef/cocaine dealer and pick up his cellphone.

3. A man tries to talk you into joining forces with him. Now 3 chefs will
chase you. Just ignore them and sprint to the yellow dot (a parked
        car) on your radar.

4. The same man is waiting in a silver Infernus (Lamborghini Countach QV
'78-'86) sports car--leap into the car with him. You must keep this
car intact. Go to the first destination, which is the Ammu-Nation.
Don't enter it. Go to the blip on your radar--the second location (the
Ocean View Hotel) to complete the mission.

(NOTE 1: you now have a cellphone. Answer all the calls you get on it during
  the game.)

(NOTE 2: stock up on ammo for an SMG.)

      iii) JURY FURY

1. Walk into the pink shaft of light ("L" symbol on the radar) to trigger
the mission. Once you've been briefed by the lawyer, you will see a
cutscene. Ignore the hammers the game offers you on the street and get
        into any car around.

2. Go to the southern destination. Notice the jury member talking to a
woman. Ignore them and shoot at the car by them. The jury member will
get into his car and try to drive away. Continue shooting at his car
until a cutscene starts. The mission is half completed now.

3. Go to the northern destination--a car. Shoot at that particular car
continuously until a cutscene starts. Mission accomplished.

(NOTE 1: ignore the phone call and the phone symbol that appears afterward on
your Map. It's not necessary to deal with that now.)

(NOTE 2: all the Phone Missions will be done at the end of the game. If you
do the Phone Missions whenever the phone symbol appears, you interrupt some
of the story missions, which we don't want to do. Therefore, we'll do all
the Phone Missions at once at the end of the game. BE PATIENT!)

(NOTE 3: we shall once again work for lawyer Ken Rosenberg. Before that,
make sure you have any gun in your inventory.)

      iv) RIOT

1. Activate the mission. Your first destination will pop up--Rafael's
clothes shop. You don't have to change your outfit for this mission,
therefore, ignore it. Head to the another destination (pink square).

2. You have to start a riot at first and then destroy three SpandEx trucks
(Ford E-350 '83-'86 trucks) to pass the mission. Start a riot by
        running over the workers.

3. Get out of your car, ignore the guards, aim at the two red barrels by a
pair of trucks, and fire. This will destroy two of the three trucks.
Shoot at the third one till it blows up. Mission passed easily.

(NOTE 1: the Coveralls outfit ($80) is unlocked at Tooled Up in North Point
  Mall.)

(NOTE 2: the missions indicated by the phone symbol next to the mall and by
the "A" are to be done later, so IGNORE them.)

(NOTE 3: as you can no longer for lawyer Ken, head to the newly appeared "C"
  symbol on your in-game Map.)

   3D.2) COLONEL CORTEZ ~ ("C" symbol)

      i) TREACHEROUS SWINE

1. Walk into the pink shaft of light ("C" symbol on the radar) by the
Marina to trigger a cutscene. After being briefed by the Colonel, go
to the destination and stand in the pink shaft of light at the entrance
        to the building.

2. After the cutscene is over, jump over the railing, chase the target,
        and kill him.

3. After killing the target you'll acquire 2 wanted stars. Pick up the
Bribe icon on the corner to the north to clear 1 star. Drive anywhere
and your other star will disappear. When you lose the wanted level,
        you complete the mission.

(NOTE: the Casual outfit ($120) is unlocked at the Gash clothes store in
  North Point Mall.)

      ii) MALL SHOOTOUT

1. After triggering the mission, get into the Cheetah and go to the
        destination.

2. After a brief talk with the target, ignore the SWAT (Special Weapons
and Tactics) agents and jump over the side of the escalators to the
first floor. Get into the fast car. Chase the target and kill him any
way you want. Get the briefcase containing the guidance chips.

3. Use the Pay 'n' Spray to remove your wanted rating and then go to the
        final destination. Mission accomplished.

      iii) GUARDIAN ANGELS

1. You will finish the mission on your 2nd try.

2. After you're briefed by the Colonel, go to the second floor of the car
        park to grab a rifle.

3. Just after getting the rifle, a silver Infernus (Lamborghini Countach
QV '78-'86) car will arrive. The one who drove it, Lance, will be your
new buddy. Use any vehicle to take him to the location.

4. You will have a rendezvous with Diaz.

5. The white Admiral brought by Diaz is the only bulletproof and
damage-proof vehicle in the game and has good handling. You ought to
STEAL it. But the car doors are locked--you can't jack it. So kill
Diaz and his gangsters, voluntarily fail the mission, and the doors
        become unlocked.

6. Store the white "EP"--Everything Proof--Admiral in the garage of El
        Swanko Casa.

7. Trigger the mission and use the same procedure as before up to Diaz'
arrival. Go up to the vantage point. You'll see some Cuban gangsters
        having a rendezvous with Diaz.

8. After they start shooting, crouch on the top of the stairs and shoot
the Haitian gangsters (they're in white and blue) with the assault
        rifle.

9. Three cars and a van will come in succession; kill all the gangsters.

10. After a short cutscene, a biker will steal the briefcase with the money
and flee. You will be hinted to chase him with a Sanchez (Yamaha DT
200 dirt bike '85-'86). But don't use the dirt bike: there's a chance
you'll trigger a Unique Jump, we've to deal with those Jumps later in
        the game.

11. Take any car in that scene, chase him, knock him off the bike, and kill
        him. Take the briefcase and...

12. Before getting onto the pink shaft, make sure that you face the same
direction Diaz' car is aimed at. Get onto it. Be ready to sprint as
soon as the cutscene gets over. Now sprint south and turn around the
first corner to your left. You'll find another "EP" Admiral. Own it,
        too!

(Author's note: you've got your second "EP" Admiral by this way. I thank to
Glen T. Winstein for showing me this easy method. Like him, I'd also like to
respray this car before stashing it in the Links View Apartment garage.
Surprisingly enough, respraying--this time--is FREE! Respray until you get
your favorite color: again, like Glen, I'll get it a dark cranberry red color
to conceal the somber gray marks and make it look newer.)

(NOTE 1: Starfish Island is now open.)

(NOTE 2: you can now get a five star wanted level.)

(NOTE 3: now head to the newly appeared "D" symbol on your in-game Map.)

   3D.3) RICARDO DIAZ ~ ("D" symbol)

      i) THE CHASE

1. Walk into the pink shaft of light ("D" symbol on the radar) in the
Starfish Island to trigger a cutscene. After being briefed by Diaz,
make your way to the house mentioned.

2. After you look through the window, the subject will run upstairs and
try to get away over the rooftops. Chase him. Be careful while
chasing him on the rooftops--you could fall down.

3. He'll shoot at the red barrels--avoid the bonfire he makes.

4. He'll jump from the rooftop and ride away with his companion who's
driving a dune buggy. They'll drive around the mall and head for Prawn
        Island.

5. Take the nearby moped and start shadowing them. He is a good shot, so
weave side to side and always maintain a safe gap between him and
        yourself.

6. Finally the dune buggy will stop in front of a dirty building. Go very
close to it to trigger a cutscene. Mission accomplished.

      ii) PHNOM PENH '86

1. Trigger the mission. Lance will take you in a helicopter to the same
building in Prawn Island the dune buggy went to.

2. In this mission you have to keep the chopper intact, so you need to
kill all the Streetwannabe gangsters who will be shooting at it.

3. You're given a first person shooter mode and an M60 attached to the
chopper on a pivot. Constantly holding FIRE, aim at the red barrels or
any vehicles at first, then aim ahead of the targets and let the
helicopter sweep your aim in a horizontal direction across any targets.

4. Once you are out of the chopper, get inside the house. Ignore
everyone--don't bother shooting at them. Just sprint up the stairs to
the rooftop to collect the briefcase. Mission passed!

(NOTE 1: the missions for the "A," "C," and phone symbol are to be done
  later, so IGNORE them.)

(NOTE 2: after this mission is successfully completed, a radio announcer will
give the message that the bridges to the west island have been reopened.)

(NOTE 3: save your game at the Ocean View Hotel.)

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

3E) COLLECTING HIDDEN PACKAGES CONCLUDED
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Overview:
Since the bridges are open and the storm didn't hit the island, you have
access to all of Vice City. Let's start collecting all the remaining Hidden
Packages. You have to take the copy of dark52's Hidden Packages Map in hand
again. Now it's time to collect all the FREE weapons, and they'll all be
available at your main save place (and two save places you'll get later). SO,
AGAIN, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

STEP BY STEP:

PART II - HIDDEN PACKAGES IN VICE CITY WEST
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Step 1: Leave your main hideout to find the remaining packages now. From now
on, you're going to travel by chopper to collect Hidden Packages. There are
two helicopters on the west island available to you.

Step 2: The 1st helicopter is on top of the VCN building. To get there: go
west on the North Bridge (the northernmost bridge, near North Point Mall),
cross Prawn Island, and continue west over the next section of the North Bridge
to the west island. Go west from the bridge and look to the right for a pale
gray skyscraper with a big "Eight Ten VCN" sign on the front. Enter the front
door and you're transported to the roof. Just look up to find a helipad and a
small chopper.

(NOTE 1: you cannot fly the helicopter and shoot an SMG gun at the same time
like the T-1000 does in Terminator 2. Because the T-1000 actually morphs
another third arm in order to perform both--and that gimmick, Tommy can't.)

(NOTE 2: the VCN Maverick (Bell 206B-3 Jet Ranger '86) has stupid handling,
so always go to the 2nd location.)

(NOTE 3: in addition, you can find a Hidden Package there.)

HP #61 - Drop down from the helipad to a landing by the ramp you climbed to
find the package. Now make your way to the location of the 2nd
         copter.

Step 3: The 2nd helicopter is on top of the Downtown police station. To get
there: go west on the road in front of the VCN building--go slowly until you
see the Ammu-Nation on the right side. There, go left/south. You can see a
police parking area on the left side of the road. The tall building with the
flag on the corner is the police station. Go left around the police station,
go left into a side lot, and climb the stairs to the roof. Climb onto the
helipad to find the VCPD Maverick (Bell 206L-4 Long Ranger '74).

(NOTE: an office in the skyscraper to the east of you has a hidden package.)

HP #62 - From the NE corner of that skyscraper, go up the stairs and around the
landing to a door on the west side of the building. Go into the
office area and go right to grab the package that is rotating in front
of the second computer. Then go back to the police station, climb up
the stairs, and get into the police copter.

HP #59 - Go to the stadium in the most northwestern part of Vice City, travel
around the stadium's parking area, hugging the stadium wall, and look
on the northwest side for the package. Steal it.

HP #60 - Go to the grounds of Schuman Health Care Center (an Ambulance will be
by it), across the street and west of the Downtown Ammu-Nation. Go
down a ramp into the front of it to a lower parking area. The package
is in the northwest corner. Go down the ramp and turn right to grab
         it.

HP #58 - The Schuman Health Care Center is on a corner. Go north from it, turn
right into the alley with a police bribe, and veer right into a lot to
         find the package.

HP #57 - Go back into the alley, out the east end, and continue east on the
road. Use the map to find the location of the colossal white
skyscraper with a big statue in a big clearing in the middle of it.
Sprint and jump onto the base of the statue and acquire the package.

(NOTE: the FLAME THROWER is delivered to your main hideout.)

HP #56 - Go back to the road and go east to the coast. About halfway between
there and the North Bridge to the south, the package is in an
indentation along the back of a building by the coast--see the
location on the map. Land your chopper on the lawn, go along the back
of the building, and take the package.

(NOTE: if your chopper is damaged, switch to another one, because it's time
to travel south to gather more packages.)

Step 3: By now you should have gotten 41 packages. Go south in the new
chopper. (NOTE: if you wish, park your copter on the road in front of the
Ocean View Hotel, go inside, save the game, and get back into the chopper.
Although the chopper might vanish, so you take a risk in saving the game, I
recommend that you SAVE it. It will probably stay there if you save and keep
playing, so don't exit the game after you save it.)

HP #1 - Go to the southern sea. Find the one of the three wooden huts that
doesn't have a roof. Land on the wooden platform--the package is on
the NE corner. DO NOT TOUCH THE RAMPAGE ICON--just snatch the package.

HP #2 - Park your copter in front of the "C" symbol, walk over the northern
jetty, take a boat, go to the large pile of rocks protruding from the
southern sea south of the "C" symbol, and grasp the package.

(NOTE: you'll collect the following packages from rooftops. When you're
roaming around on rooftops, be careful not to fall off. If you fall off, you
have to make the long trip NW to get another helicopter.)

HP #8 - Go to the rooftop across the street to the east of the south side of
Washington Mall (to the east of the phone symbol on your in-game Map).
Hover and look south from the ramps. Grab it.

HP #10 - Make your way up to the northwest corner of the second block north of
your main hideout. The package is sitting comfortably on the lower of
the rooftops of two buildings. Park on the rooftop and snatch the
package. Look north to see a white building with blue horizontal
stripes, which are windows. Travel there.

HP #13 - Grab the package which is rotating on top of the aforesaid building.

HP #15 - Go into the police station (VCPD HQ), which is the next building to
the north. Walk straight to the end of the hall, go up the stairs to
your right, go across the room, and go into the westernmost office.
Snatch the package. (NOTE: now you have 2 stars, so lose them by
using the Bribe icon nearby. Go east across the street, take the
first road you find that goes east, and turn south into the alley.)

HP #19 - Go to the lot of the Spand Express building, which is on the eastern
side of the block of the unfinished building with red girders NW of
the police station (VCPD HQ), and walk around to the narrow alley in
back of the building. Steal the package.

HP #22 - Go to the building that is located SE of the Malibu Club. Land on the
swimming pool. Go to the SW corner of the terrace to find the
         package.

HP #24 - Go to the building that is located north of the Malibu Club. Land on
the rooftop. Go to the SE corner of the roof. Acquire the package.

(NOTE: the PSG-1 (PS2)/.308 (PC) is delivered to your main hideout.)

Step 4: Go to any of your houses and save your game. If your helicopter is
damaged, go Downtown to switch to a new one.

Step 5: Make your way to the Film Studio, which is located in Prawn Island.

(NOTE: Film Studio gates are locked now, so if your helicopter is destroyed
in it, use the stairs in the southeast corner to jump out.)

Step 6: Land inside the middle of the Film Studio.

HP #42 - Look southeast to the roof of a blue building. If you aim the scope
of a sniper rifle at the ramps, you can see the package. Get into the
chopper, land on the rooftop, and collect the package. Fly back to
the middle of the grounds and park.

HP #43 - Look south, go into Studio C, and turn left as soon as you enter it.
         Collect the package.

(NOTE: check your Stats--you should have collected 52 Hidden Packages. There
  are only 48 more.)

Step 7: Fly to any of your safe houses and save your game. Make your way to NW
Downtown to get a new copter unless you've managed to keep your old copter in
good shape. Go to the SE corner of the west island--Viceport.

HP #81 - Go south from the South Bridge along the MAIN road and past the first
road that turns west from it. Continue south over the MAIN road to
the fifth in a row of houses on your right. Snatch the package.

HP #82 - Go SE. Walk onto the big blue cargo ship using the northern ramp (it
has a Health icon beneath it). Go right, turn left, and go to the
other side of it. Sprint forward, pass the blue crate, run forward,
and find the package behind the yellow crate. Steal it.

HP #83 - Go to the parking lot of the Vice City Port Authority at the most
southern T intersection. Look in the corner of the signs for it and
         find the package.

HP #84 - Land on the western side of the western of the two big ships along the
south coast. Get a grip on the package.

HP #85 - Go into the building near the end of the dead end road that goes south
through the middle of the south end of the island. Use the northern
door, turn left, and go into the office to steal the package.

HP #86 - Go east to a big open lot surrounded by garages except for the south
end, which is along the south coast. Go to the NW corner and collect
         the package.

HP #79 - Go due north and land in a lot with four big vertical jet fuel tanks.
Go to the pipes between the tanks to grab the package.

HP #78 - Fly NE across the road to Sunshine Autos. Go inside to the second
         floor and collect the package.

(NOTE: the MINIGUN is delivered to your main hideout.)

Step 8: Save the game at any of your save houses. Take any new helicopter to
the middle of the west island.

HP #63 - Go to the south end of the yard in back of the Moist Palms Hotel (a
large swimming pool is in front of it), which is in the southern
Downtown area along the main road. Grab the package from the corner
         of the concrete ramp.

HP #64 - Fly due west, land on the cobblestone waterfront, and look on the NW
corner of the lot. Collect the package.

HP #65 - Go SE and land in the walled-in area of Phil's Place. Go to the
northern section and find the package hidden in the NE corner of the
         red shed.

HP #66 - Go to the supermarket across the street from Phil's Place, go into the
alley, and look right. Go down the steps that lead down to a closed
         door. Grab the package.

HP #67 - Land on the rooftop just southeast of the airborne police bribe that's
in the middle of the most northwest block of Little Haiti. Walk down
into the recessed area to collect the package.

HP #68 - Go west from the west end of Links Bridge. The road curves up in a
semi-circle. Take the road that goes west from the west side of the
curve, then turn right. The dirty yellow old short building is the
Taxi Company (Kaufman Cabs). Go back to the east side of it to an old
pale greenish building with large windows. Go around it and up the
staircase of it to take the package from the top of the staircase.

HP #69 - Go back to the road and go to the west end of it again, but this time
turn south and go just past the pizza store. Look on the same side of
the road for Funeraria Romero--"The Dead Center Of Vice City." Go
into the small alley at the south side of it to an open grave and
         acquire the package.

HP #70 - Go south from the pizza store, take the second right, go left into an
alley, then left into a little alley and look for the stairs on your
right. Go up the stairs to the roof and grab the package.

HP #71 - Use the map to find the "Little Haiti--Lifes a B**ch" billboard. Look
behind the fence at the base of it--the package is hidden by a shrub.
Steal it before the Haitians witness this!

HP #72 - It's inside the laundromat. To get there, go back to the pizza shop
mentioned in the directions to get to HP #69. From there, go south,
take the second right, and follow it as it curves south and ends at a
T intersection. The laundromat is set back from the road in a lot to
your right. Go inside and get the package.

(NOTE: the ROCKET LAUNCHER is available at your main hideout.)

HP #73 - Go east from the laundromat to the greenish house, climb up the ramp,
         and get the package.

HP #74 - Go west on the same road, follow it as it curves south, and ahead
south off the road into an alley by a dirt lot with some big cardboard
         boxes. Collect the package.

HP #75 - From the air, look southeast across the street at a rooftop with a
Sniper Rifle. Land by it, and jump over a low wall onto the narrow
walkway in front of the Kaufman Cabs billboard. Go to the other end
of it to obtain the package.

HP #76 - Go north from the west end of the South Bridge and go to the store
advertising "Coffee Bagels Donuts" on the corner of the first left.
Go into the delicatessen and collect the package.

HP #77 - Go west over the road in your chopper to the rooftop on the left side
of the end of the road. As you fly over it, you'll see a Rampage icon
near the package. Grab the package.

(NOTE: save your game at any of your safe houses. Check your Stats to see
that you have 75 Hidden Packages, which leaves 25 to get.)

Step 9: Take a helicopter and go SW.

HP #80 - Fly near the four big jet fuel containers and look west to see a
parking lot. Go to the southern end, locate the package between two
         trailers, and steal it.

HP #87 - Fly southwest to the big rooftop at the west side of the end of the
dead end road. Land on the roof and you'll see the package on the
         southern side. Collect it.

HP #88 - Look west to a helipad--the package is the center of that helipad.
         Collect it.

HP #89 - Fly northeast and land on blue McAdam Airways hanger's roof. Walk to
the front edge and grab the package.

HP #90 - Land on the southern end of the eastern white loading bridge to grab
         the package.

(NOTE: the SEA SPARROW (Bell 47G or H-13 helicopter with pontoons) is
  unlocked behind Diaz' Mansion.)

HP #96 - Land your copter on the roof of the terminal--IGNORE the Rampage icon
that is directly above the entrance. The package is in the western
         valley. Collect the package.

HP #97 - Land your copter outside the terminal, walk in the terminal, and go
upstairs. The package is at the end of a passage (Gate 1-8, which is
by a Health icon). Steal the package.

HP #95 - Go downstairs and go to the NW corner. Acquire the package.

HP #92 - The Package is under the back wheels of the jet at the southeast end
of the western boarding bridge. Just take possession of it.

HP #91 - The package is over the west end of the same jet. So land your copter
on the nearby loading bridge and jump on the jet. (NOTE: if you fall
in the gap, you will lose your helicopter. If that happens, make use
of the gift you got for collecting 80 HPs--the Sea Sparrow.) Grab the
         package.

HP #93 - Fly to the ground below and land. Go west to the hanger with a large
jet sticking out of the end of it. Walk up and grab the package.

HP #94 - Get into your copter, head north, and land by the Fire Station. Get
the package that's rotating on the western side of it.

HP #99 - Fly north past the terminal and past the big building (another
terminal) north of that to a lot with more jets. Land by a big jet
and get the package from under the back wheels of it.

HP #98 - Fly east over the lot and across the street, then fly south to the
inside corner of a bunch of billboards. The package is between the
two billboards they say, "Take a Vacation in Liberty City" and
         "Escobar Airport." Just steal it.

HP #100 - Fly north over the road and follow it as it curves west. Land on the
south side of the street before you get to the entrance of "Vice City
          - Air Reserve Fort Baxter Air Base." Get the package, which is
behind the sign, quickly since the soldiers may fire at you.

(NOTE: the RHINO TANK is delivered to the Army Barracks. If you want to have
a look at it, fly over Fort Baxter and look down at the massive invincible
  Rhino.)

Step 10: Go to any of your safe houses and save your game. Check your Stats:
should have collected a grand total of 90 Hidden Packages. There are only 10
more to steal.

Step 11: It's time for you to get all 100. Go to Diaz' Mansion on the SE side
of Starfish Island.

HP #51 - Go to the Sea Sparrow behind the Mansion and look east on your radar
--you'll see green then white adjoining a blue area; go to the middle
of white part. Actually, now you're standing between 2 swimming
pools. Go down the stairs in front of you and turn right to find the
package tucked up next to them. Grab it.

HP #52 - Go to the base of the large staircase at the front entrance of the
Mansion. Go west to the pink wall then turn left and go to the end of
the passage to steal the package.

HP #53 - Fly north to the western of the two sections surrounded by road. You
can't miss seeing the swimming pool shaped like Rockstar symbol (R*).
Land near it, grab the Flame Thrower if you wish, and climb up the
stairs onto the balcony to collect the package.

HP #54 - Fly to the eastern section surrounded by road and land near the
building with a brownish roof by a swimming pool. Just land and grab
         the package from the Jacuzzi.

HP #55 - Fly to the NE part of the island to a house with a purple roof.
Collect the package from the front doorstep.

HP #50 - Fly to the south island of the golf course and look for the arch-
shaped yellow bridge that connects it to the rest of the golf course.
The package is on the crown of the bridge. Collect it.

HP #49 - Go due north to a water hazard--the package is in the middle of a
small island with a palm tree there. Walk through the shallow water
         and grab the package.

HP #46 - Get into the chopper and fly north-northeast to the golf course side
of a bridge. The package is underneath it. Steal the package.

HP #48 - Fly west to two sand traps in the grass at the end of the curvy road.
The package is over one of those sand traps.

HP #47 - Now fly to the northern island of the golf course. The island is
shaped a little like a "U." Go to the north end of the eastern branch
and look for a wooden structure. (It's used by golfers to practice
taking shots from but nobody is using it now.) Go to the base of the
western side of the northern end of it to get the package. All done!

(NOTE: the HUNTER CHOPPER (Hughes/McDonnell Douglas AH-64A Apache '84-'86)
is delivered to the Army Barracks. If you want to have a look at it, just fly
over the Air Base and you can see the invincible ultimate Hunter.)

Step 12: Save your game at any of your safe houses.

   3E.a) BUYING PROPERTIES
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

The time has come for you to buy all 4 remaining properties currently
available in Vice City. These are the 3 properties you own:

1. EL SWANKA CASA
2. LINKS VIEW APARTMENT
3. 3321 VICE POINT

The other properties to be bought are:

4. 1102 WASHINGTON STREET ~ across the street to the west of the Lawyer's
office. (You went to this building to steal
                                 HP #11)

5. OCEAN HEIGHTS APARTMENT ~ near the Pole Position Club. (To get there,
go to the Ammu-Nation in Ocean Beach and face
east; you can't miss seeing two tall trees
behind a fence. Go there to an alley and
over the lawn to the next road to see a tall
building with pink pillars and a big stairway
in front of it. That is the required
                                  property.)

6. SKUMOLE SHACK ~ Downtown above Howlin' Petes Biker Emporium. (To get
there, go north on the west island from the west end of
the Starfish Island Bridge through Little Haiti to the
Downtown section. There, the road divides--take the
branch that goes east and follow it to where it curves
northeast. Look on the west side of the street along
that curve for a staircase with an Uzi (PS2)/Uz-I (PC)
behind it. Climb up the staircase and find the
Property icon at the front of the little shack on the
roof. That is the required property.)

7. HYMAN CONDO ~ Downtown. (You couldn't have missed it when you got HP
                                 #58.)

(NOTE: we'll buy the asset properties when they become available later in the
game. There's an icon with a blue house symbol by each of them currently.
Ignore about them and follow the FAQ for now.)

ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

3F) SUB-MISSIONS CONCLUDED
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

   3F.1) VIGILANTE MISSION
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Overview:
In this job, you play the role of an unofficial cop. The Vigilante Mission
is an easy one if you are in the right vehicle (the Hunter or Rhino). If you
try the same mission in an ordinary police car or the Enforcer, it will be hard
to get it done. (NOTE: although your mission is against criminals, it doesn't
mean the cops will support you. You can still get wanted stars for any of the
usual reasons.)

Difficulty ratings: IMPOSSIBLE with an Enforcer, FBI Rancher, or a Barracks OL
9/10 with a "Vice Squad" Cheetah or a Police Car
                    8/10 with an FBI Washington
                    6/10 with a Rhino
                    5/10 with a Hunter
Reward rating: 7/10

Vehicles:
- Police Car (Ford LTD LX '83-'85)
- "Vice Squad" Cheetah (customized Ferrari Testarossa '86)
- Enforcer (Pierce Heavy Rescue truck '91)
- FBI Rancher (Chevrolet Suburban '86)
- FBI Washington (Rolls Royce Silver Spirit '80-'86)
- Barracks OL (M939 five ton U.S. military transport truck)
- Rhino (customized Bradley M3)
- Hunter (Hughes/McDonnell Douglas AH-64A Apache '84-'86)

Locations:
- Police Cars can be found at any of the police stations.
- "Vice Squad" Cheetah--behind the Little Havana police station.
- Enforcer--at the Vice Point police station.
- FBI Washington--behind the Downtown Rock City audio shop.
- FBI Rancher--after getting 5 stars.
- the Rhino is in Fort Baxter beyond the entrance.
- the Hunter is in Fort Baxter near the middle of the north wall.

Levels:
Like the Paramedic Mission, it has 12 levels. At level 1, you have to kill
one escaping criminal, at level 2, two criminals...at level 12, twelve
escaping criminals. A maximum of four criminals can fit in one car, so from
level 5 on you chase two cars. From level 9 on, you'll be chasing three cars.
Failing the mission puts you back at Square One.

Rewards:

- The main reward is that your maximum Armor will increase from 100 to 150.
Isn't it nice to have an extra 50% Armor when you fight the drug-dealers and
the cops? It's harder for them to kill you when you have 150 Health and 150
  Armor.

- The other reward is tons of money.

STEP BY STEP:

I know you've been waiting a very long time to do this mission. Killing the
criminals from the air or crushing them in your Rhino (tank) are the best ways
to do it, and now you have your chance. (After getting the Hunter (Apache
helicopter), your mission will be ridiculously easy.)

Considering your efficiency in playing this game, this FAQ allows you take
one of two choices: you can perform the Vigilante Mission in the Rhino (tank)
or with the ultimate weapon around--the Hunter (Apache helicopter).

   3F.1.1) PART I - USING RHINO
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

(NOTE 1: the Rhino (tank) is slow, but it can be sped up by turning the
turret backwards and firing. The main features of the Rhino are that it's
extremely Damageproof, Bulletproof, no one can pop the tires, it has a
working cannon, and it makes the vehicles it bumps explode.)

(NOTE 2: the Rhino is not Flameproof.)

Step 1: Steal the Rhino from the Military. Once the soldiers notice you, they
use M4s and shred your Armor in a matter of seconds, so always go with full
Armor and Health. Take a fast or heavy durable car like a Phoenix or a
Securicar, drive through the gate, stop close to the Rhino, and get out. The
soldiers will begin firing, but the moment you're inside, you're protected from
their bullets. But you can still be pulled out, so get out of there and onto
the road. You now own the Rhino. (Drive carefully to avoid bumping into and
blowing up vehicles--especially police vehicles, and to avoid running over
policemen, to avoid getting wanted stars.)

Step 2: Now take your newly-acquired Rhino all the way to your second hideout
(the Hyman Condo), store it in the biggest garage, and save the game.

(WARNING: sometimes the Rhino or any other vehicle disappears in this garage.
Don't try to save too many vehicles in it, and try to walk carefully into the
Save icon from the east so you can use it when the big garage door is
  closed.)

Step 3: Make a quick journey to Vice Point, where you completed the Paramedic
and Pizza Delivery Missions, since you're used to the roads there. To get to
Vice Point, go east from the Downtown Ammu-Nation, go over the North Bridge and
Prawn Island, and in a few seconds you'll be in Vice Point.

Step 4: Once you're in Vice Point, activate the mission.

Step 5: You'll see a moving car on your radar. As always, look at where the
criminal is on your map, and figure out the shortest path to him that uses the
MAIN road. When you get to the moving car, don't try to shoot him--just ram
his car and it will be blown to bits, WHAM!

Step 6: If the car just catches on fire, the criminal will get out and run to
get into another vehicle. If that happens, wait till he's in the new car then
ram it.

Step 7: Since a car can only hold four criminals, two cars will be driving
around starting with level five. Just ram them and make them explode. As the
levels progress, there will be more criminals per level, so that after level 9
you'll have to smash three moving vehicles.

Step 8: The unfortunate thing is how many other vehicles you blow up in the
process (accidentally or knowingly), and that this gets the law enforcers after
you--the number of WANTED STARS can increase to 5 now. For each star attained,
you'll be attacked by more force: cops, vice cops, the SWAT team, a police
helicopter, and the FBI (the Military will not get into the act until after you
do a certain mission that comes up later). They'll all chase you and try to
kill or bust you. It can be a big nuisance while you're trying to do the
mission. The best tactic is to completely ignore them and focus on the
criminals.

(NOTE: to get rid of all your stars, go to one of the two Pay 'n' Sprays on
the east island. In Ocean Beach, there's a big white building adjacent to
the Pay 'n' Spray--park your Rhino on the ground level lot in the white
building, get into the Banshee, and head to the Pay 'n' Spray. After evading
your stars, get back in the Rhino. In the Vice Point area, there will always
be some car parked on the lot of Links View Apartment. Get into it, use the
Pay 'n' Spray, and get back in the Rhino.)

Step 9: After level 12--if you want more money (?)--keep doing the same mission
up to 400. Awwwr!...but you can also quit the mission simply by pressing the
Sub-mission key. Then...

Step 10: The game will increase your maximum Armor to 150. Use the above note
to evade all the stars and save your game at the Hyman Condo.

3F.1.2) PART II - USING HUNTER
   ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ

Thanks to Glen T. Winstein for showing me that the PC Hunter has auto-aim for
the machine gun but not the rockets.

Glen T. Winstein writes in his FAQ: (For PC users)

"...PC version with Standard Controls we're using has auto-aim for the
machine gun but not the rockets, whereas the PS2 version has auto-aim for
the rockets but not the machine gun. We're mainly relying on the machine
    gun."

Step 1: First, steal the prize helicopter from Fort Baxter.

Step 2: The easiest way to get there is to take the Maverick, the helicopter
on the roof of your second main hideout (the Hyman Condo), and fly to the
middle of the north side of Fort Baxter from the north. Slow down and hover
over the spot where the Hunter is parked. If you come under fire, back off
immediately and go away until the soldiers have disappeared. Come back again,
land beside the Hunter, switch the copters, and take off.

Step 3: You need to learn how to control the copter, so if you fail the
mission, "no worries"--just rel
