Final Fantasy X-2. The name strikes fear into some people's hearts.

Most people initially thought that the game shouldn't exist. I'll admit, I was
one of them. Final Fantasy X, a very good game in most people's opinions, had
a brilliant ending that left no opening for a sequel whatsoever. Yet, two
years later, here we are. Back in Spira. Imitating Charlie's Angels. Boy, that
one's gonna go down well with the male consensus.

But the game is, nonetheless, enjoyable. Which is why I, Karpah, spent fifty
hours over the course of a week playing it and Steve refused to go near it for
a very long time. I beat the game before he did, and he bought it six months
before I did.

I'll keep this short because the guide is so damn long. On with it! Enjoy!

Music recommendations while reading this guide:

Becky: 1000 WORDS by Jade. Orchestral version if you can get it. Oh yeah.

Steve: "It's All About the Pentiums" by Weird Al, "Bleeding In My Hands" by

Hello everyone, and welcome to another Final Fantasy X-2 guide. This is Karpah
and Psycho Penguin's second attempt at a co write, but our first one we
actually completed. And boy did it take a long time, with several breaks along
the way, but we hope you enjoy the completed project.

Karpah did game basics, Chapter 1, Chapter 4, half of Chapter 5, Sphere Break,
Chocobo Ranch, Lightning Tower, Gunner's Gauntlet, Garment Grids, accessory
locations, and Key Items. Psycho Penguin did the rest. We took notes for each
other's walkthroughs. :)

Enjoy!

Karpah: Howdy all! How are we all today? Ready to kick some X-2 ass? Good
good. Me and my baby worked our asses off to make this guide good, so I hope
you enjoy it. Enough about the guide! Let's talk more about it's sexy female
author, eh? *winks* No, actually, Steve paid me to say that. My bad. Go read
about him, he's interesting. He's a guy. Guys are good.

Psycho Penguin: Hey all, welcome to another one of my guides. I had a goal to
write for all the Final Fantasies, as you may know. That goal may or may not
be on still.. and if it is, this is certainly a good step :) This is the first
of hopefully many co written guides with my sexy soulmate, and I happen to
think it's my best guide yet. What is there to know about me? I love sports,
games, writing, and wrestling, and I don't mind emails as long as they ask
good questions and are polite.

Well, seeing as Psycho Penguin hates doing game basics with a passion, this
job got dumped in my lap. You'll probably note that I'm a lot more informal
with my work than he is, but I do go out of my way to be as thorough as
possible anyways.

This section is divided into several parts, and together they hopefully give
you a detailed overview of the systems of Final Fantasy X-2. If I fail
miserably, e-mail my other half and he will fix them up for me ;)

                   2.1 STORYLINE
---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=--

Seeing as this game is indeed a sequel to the immensely popular Final Fantasy
X, it is recommended that you play that game first to get a feel for the
storyline. However, it is not necessary, and the game does a decent job of
filling in the blanks on Spiran history, and our characters' history, as you
go along.

Two years ago, a group of characters set out on a pilgrimage across Spira,
from the isle of Besaid to the ruins of Zanarkand, to gain the ability to
defeat Sin, a deadly creature that was terrorizing all of Spira. One of these
characters was Yuna, a summoner, able to call forth the power of the aeons to
do her bidding. Another of these characters was Tidus, a mysterious character
not of their world, and the two forged a strong bond and fell in love.

At the end of the journey, Yuna, along with her guardians, managed to
successfully defeat Sin and bring the Eternal Calm to Spira. But Tidus did not
- could not - survive in Spira after Sin's death. Yuna was shattered.

Fast forward to the current day. Yuna has retired from being a summoner and
is living a peaceful life back in Besaid. However, she is not content
- she misses Tidus terribly. One day, her cousin, Rikku, who was also with her
two years ago, appears with a sphere, a video recording if you like - a man
has been taped within, one bearing a striking resemblance to Tidus. He's
imprisoned in a cage, talking about saving the summoner... which Tidus did
indeed do. Who is this mysterious man? Could he really be Yuna's lost love?

With some smooth moves, Rikku encourages Yuna to join her group of sphere
hunters, who track the globe in order to dig up spheres of Spiran history,
similar to the one she has now. So the two, along with Paine, a young moody
woman with a hidden agenda, they set out to uncover the truth of what is
contained in the mysterious sphere - and what they find is not what you will
expect.

---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=--

Controls are fairly simple in Final Fantasy games, no? Final Fantasy X-2 isn't
that much different, but it does introduce some new (long-awaited) concepts,
using new buttons.

Final Fantasy X-2 is very unique in the fact that it has only three playable
characters, and you are therefore forced to use these three characters only
during the entire game. While this sounds negative, it is important to know
that these three girls can each hold any job in the game, due to the
Dressphere system explained fully in section 7.0, Character Development.
Therefore, the sky is the limit with how you want to train each character.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                 YUNA
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

          Age: 19
          Default Dressphere: Gunner

Yuna is the High Summoner, famous all around Spira for being the one to defeat
Sin two years ago. Everywhere she goes, she gets people flocking to her side,
but all she wants is a little peace and quiet... and to be able to solve the
mysteries of the sphere. Is it really 'him'? Or does it just look like 'him'?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                 RIKKU
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

          Age: 17
          Default Dressphere: Thief

Rikku makes her return from FFX, as loud and annoying as ever. Always the
peppy dumb blonde of the group, she sought to do good by showing Yuna the
sphere containing 'you know who'. Now, after encouraging Yuna to join the
Gullwings, she's on the ride of a lifetime solving age-old mysteries and
saving the world in her spare time.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                 PAINE
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

          Age: 18
          Default Dressphere: Warrior

Not much is known about Paine, the young silent warrior. She joined the
Gullwings because she always wanted a chance to ride on an airship, but she
has her own reasons for being in the best sphere hunting group in Spira.

                   2.4 BATTLE SYSTEM
---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=--

Okay, hands up who liked the Conditional Turn-Based (CTB) battle system from
Final Fantasy X?

*my hand is the only one that goes up*

Well you'll all be glad to know it's gone for good. The familiar Active
Time-Bar (ATB) system from every other previous Final Fantasy is back with us,
in full glory.

When battles begin, you'll see that each girl in battle has a green time-bar
in the lower right hand corner, beside their name. Each bar fills up slowly
automatically, and when one bar is full, that girl is able to take their turn.
Once they have completed their turn, the bar empties and begins to fill slowly
again. While the bars is filling, the girls cannot perform any actions, they
must simply wait.

When a girl's turn comes up, she will have a number of commands at her
disposal, depending on her current dress. These include (but are not limited
to):

- Attack: The girl will rush up to and strike one enemy. Not available
for Songstress, Black Mage, or White Mage.

- Black Magic: The girl can cast any black magic spell she has learnt. An
                inherent Black Mage ability.

- Arcana: The girl can use any of the Arcana abilities of the Dark
Knight. An inherent Dark Knight ability.

- Steal: The girl will attempt to steal an item from the chosen enemy.
                An inherent Thief ability.

- Item: The girl will use an item from the party inventory. Available
                for all dresses.

Some actions, once selected (such as Attack), will be performed as soon as the
girl gets an opportunity to (ie. once animation sequences are complete, once
she finishes being attacked, etc.). Once performed, the green bar depletes to
empty and starts filling up again slowly. Most other actions require a charge
time, a new feature into an ATB-system RPG. A new purple 'wait' time-bar will
replace the green bar, signifying the charging of the attack. Once the purple
bar has filled, the girl will execute the action as soon as she gets the
opportunity to. Once executed, the girl will recieve another turn immediately
to make up for the waiting time.

Different wait actions (actions that require a wait bar) require different
charge times, and this is signified by the length of the wait bar. Commands
like Mix and Howl have a long wait time, while an Alchemist with the ability
Items 2 learned has a very short wait time for the Item command.

Different no-wait actions (actions that are performed immediately) also have
different recovery times, signified by the length of the green time bar after
the attack has been performed. The attack command has a short recovery time,
while the Trigger Happy command has a full-length green recovery bar, by far
the longest of any command.

If timed well, offensive actions can be performed sequentially in a chain
attack, each attack in the chain doing significantly more damage than it would
normally. This can be done by doing things like chaining a separate attack on
the end of a Trigger Happy, by performing a normal attack just before a girl
lets loose with a black magic spell, or by countering an attack on you just
before you perform your own attack.

Fiends and other enemies have no such ATB, well, not a visible one anyways.
They will take turns at intervals just like our girls do, and each enemy has
its own set of possible attacks and specials. It's up to you to learn,
anticipate and respond to the enemy attacks. Have fun :-D

                   2.5 MISSIONS
---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=---=---=*=--

Unlike every conventional Final Fantasy game before it, X-2 weaves a mission
system into it's gameplay. Every task you're asked to complete in the game is
given to you in the form of a mission - with its own rewards accordingly.

Missions can come from anywhere - events you witness, or have happen to you,
or people you talk to. You'll know you've got one when the Mission
Time! screen (complete with cheesy music) appears. Similarly, the task pitched
can be anything - retrieve a sphere, defeat a particular enemy, make it from
point A to point B in one piece. Your overall objective will be given to you
at the start of the mission - it may be related to the mission description, it
may not.

You can be involved in more than one mission at any one time. Some are very
quick to complete, and you will set out to do it as soon as you receive it,
and others span almost the entire length of the game (PR mission springs to
mind for this one). The only missions necessary to complete are the ones you
recieve at the Hotspots of the game, as those are part of the main quest of
the game and you cannot proceed further with the story until all Hotspots are
cleared (Mission Complete!)

Stuck with some miscellaneous quest you don't like? (Like trying to match-make
a few monkeys for some unknown reason?) Skip it. But if you're sent off to
find a very important person such as Wakka, you better do it because no-one's
gonna like you if you don't, and no-one will give you any more missions until
you find him.

Some people have gripes about the mission system, saying it doesn't fit in the
Final Fantasy realm. But really, it's not that much different than any
conventional system. Now, when you're asked to complete a specific task,
you'll simply get a Mission Time screen giving you specific information about
the task. That's about it. Voila!

I dunno why Steve assigned me to do this section. I don't know what's supposed
to go in it, really. Hints and Tips, maybe? Okay, we'll go with that.

- While you'll collect a number of Garment Grids and Dresspheres in the game,
you will in no way use them all. Find the ones you like, that suit your
style of play, with the abilities you want, and use them. For dresspheres,
master them. Get more than one person mastering them. But always remember to
keep someone in defense, as in an emergency, you might need a spot of
healing that items simply can't cover.

- If you're going for 100% completion, don't skip (Start/square) story scenes.
You need to watch them fully to get 100%, which is why we've detailed them
in the walkthrough. See, we watched them and were bored to tears by them
  too.

This is a 100 percent complete walkthrough for the game. It will help you get
100 percent, but does not fill you in on things that you do not need to get to
get to 100 percent completion. For instance, there are some side quests you
can attempt in chapter 5 that do not give you 100 percent.. so we included
those in the optional stuff guide listed in section 5.0

Psycho Penguin decided to do chapters 2 and 3, while Karpah did chapters 1 and
4. We split chapter 5.. does it really matter who did what though? :P We both
kick total ass, and as much as she doesn't like to admit it, Karpah is the
best writer on the site. Psycho Penguin is all like OMG I hope I don't
disappoint her with this guide.. but he will try his best.

*ahem* Anyways.. the unique part of this guide is that we both decided to do
boss strategies. Each boss has two strategies, since we are completely
different in terms of playing style. Psycho Penguin is a level-up freak, who
gets lots of different abilities. Karpah doesn't like leveling up much.
Therefore, depending on your style, there will be a strategy for you. Neat,
huh?

Enjoy the walkthrough! Each section tells you how much percentage you gain,
and what you have to do in a quick wrapup, followed by a lengthy walkthrough

1. Observe the pop concert performed by the Yuna impostor.
2. Chase the impostor along the Luca docks.
3. Examine the moogle hiding on dock 2.
4. Defeat Lagos, Ormi and the impostor on dock 3, retrieving Yuna's Garment
    Grid.

Start the game, and you'll get treated to a beautiful opening scene of a
concert, being performed in the Luca blitzball stadium. It's Yuna, on stage,
transformed into a pop star! (Or is it?) Watch the scene, and sing the song,
real Emotion. I love it. *sings happily* [WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?!? -PP]

Here you will also meet our three playable chracters of the game - Yuna,
Rikku, and Paine, or YRP. These are the only three you get, unfortunately, so
make the most of 'em. After the concert finishes, we zoom into Yuna's podium.

Rikku and Paine have jumped on stage, and they are not happy with Yuna. Wait,
that's not Yuna! It's an impostor! Enjoy the battle theme, titled "YuRiPa no.
1". One member of this FAQ-writing team loves it, the other thinks its meh. [I
apologize for liking good music! -PP] Rikku and Paine are after something the
impostor possesses, and they won't hesitate in fighting to get it back. Of
course, this impostor will not fight alone.

The impostor gets two goons to back her up, so we must fight all three.
However, the battle is easy, and so it bloody should be, seeing as it's your
first battle.

Paine gets the first strike. Use her to attack everything in sight while Rikku
steals Budget Grenades from the two goons, and a Hi-Potion from the impostor.
Once you've got all three items, simply attack until the imposter falls to her
knees, then bolts away.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Of course, you're not going to let her escape THAT easily, are you? Hell no.
We're outside the stadium, chasing her for all she's worth around the docks.
There are goons after us, and you'll probably get into a number of fights with
them. Steal all you want, then kill them, they won't hurt you too bad.

On the second dock, head out onto the bridge and you'll find a moogle in fear
cowering near some crates. Touch it, to have your health fully recovered.
(This be important.) Then go back to chasing the Yuna wannabe around the
docks. [This is where I lost 100% my first time through the game.. grr -PP]

On the third dock, run over to Paine, and Rikku will stop, all puffed out and
exasperated. The impostor runs too fast! No, Rikku, you run too slow. Two guys
approach Rikku and Paine and corner them, forcing them out onto the dock.
Before they can attack, however, a line of bullets appears from behind and a
familiar figure enters the scene, brandishing two big-ass guns - it's Yuna!
The REAL Yuna! Now you're fully fit to take on these two goons! [YRP! -PP]

Who are these two guys? Friends and lackeys of the impostor, because they're
here to stop you chasing her. What does the impostor have that we want? We'll
find out shortly.

Now, Logos is the tall skinny one with guns, and Ormi is the short fat one
with a big shield. Use Rikku to steal from each of them, Silver Glasses from
Logos and from Ormi, while Paine uses her Power Break swordplay on them both.
Have Yuna attack normally, or use her Trigger Happy attack (hammer R1 while
the counter appears to inflict large chains of damage).

Once they're both pickpocketed and power-broken, just attack until they go
down, focusing attacks on one, then the other.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Once they're both down, crying to their boss, she will appear. The impostor.
Give them back Yunie's Garment Grid, right now! No, they don't want to share
it! Huffily, the imposter throws it back to them, revealing her true self in
her gravity-defying purple clothes. She's pissed off now, she can't
impersonate Yuna any more. So she'll attempt to kick your butt. 'Attempt'
being the key word.

Yuna has first strike in this battle, and she's instructed to use the Garment
Grid she just retrieved. Press L1 to access the spherechange menu, and select
the Songstress dressphere, symbolized by the music note. Once she's changed in
the pretty scene, you're told to use Darkness Dance, which is rather clever.
So do it. Not like you have a choice, really.

Wham, Darkness on Leblanc, now she can't see you to hurt you. So steal the
Silver Bracer from her, Power Break her, then beat her down with normal
attacks from Rikku and Paine. Should Yuna finish dancing, get her to dance
again while your other two attack.

3. Accept the first mission to Gagazet.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

After the battle, the girls' airship, the Celsius appears to pick them up.
Yuna's all talkative about the dancing, it felt like someone else's excitement
just took over. Shinra, boy know-it-all in the corner, has an explanation for
this - the emotions of the person recorded in the sphere pass on to its user,
and he doesn't know if its dangerous, which scares Buddy a little bit. Hey,
he's just a kid! [There's also something extremely wrong with the kid, but
more on that later. -PP] Brother doesn't care, he just wants to see Yuna
dancing! If you've played FFX, you might remember Brother - pilot of the
airship, brother of Rikku. So, also Yuna's cousin. Keep that in mind.

When Yuna replies that it will cost him to see it, he goes frantically digging
for money, not realizing that she's just kidding. But before he can respond,
an alarm goes off, so he rushes back to his seat. [Yuna's only a whore in FFX,
you know. :P -PP]

So that's the crew of the Celsius - Yuna, Rikku, Paine, Shinra, Buddy, and
Brother. Speak to them all and you'll get an insight into how Yuna knows them
and what she thinks about them all. Speaking to Buddy will net you Al Bhed
Primers XXI, and speaking to Brother will get you Al Bhed Primers XIX, III,
and XVII.

Like in Final Fantasy X, we can learn the Al Bhed language, spoken by the many
Al Bhed throughout Spira including Buddy and Brother, through the discovery of
primers. Each primer will translate one letter of the language into English -
so there are 26 primers to collect. They can be obtained either from people
who speak the language, or they can be dug up in the Bikanel desert. More on
that later.

Talking with Rikku will explain who they are and just what they're doing in
this big old airship. It all started when she saw a sphere of him (him being
He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, Tidus, Yuna's former lover), so she joined the
Gullwings, your troop of sphere hunters, in hopes of discovering the meaning
of the sphere. They fly all over Spira, and she's really enjoying herself. You
can view the sphere of Tidus by talking with Shinra and selecting "Treasure
Spheres". You can either do this now or later, but you must watch it
eventually.

Also speaking to Shinra, you can complete several tutorials in "Shinra's Guide
to Everything". If you're not familiar with the systems in FFX-2 (so you
obviously haven't read my game basics, ahem) they make for a good read and a
good lesson. Plus, going through the Garment Grid tutorial nets you the
Vanguard Garment Grid. It's better than the First Steps grid, so place all
your dresspheres on it and equip it to each of your characters.

Once you've spoken to everyone, you can visit the rest of the ship using the
elevator outside. Loot the treasure chests in the Engine Room for 3x Remedy,
an Ether, 4x Phoenix Down, and 4x Potion. In particular, meet Barkeep behind
the bar in the cabin. You can purchase a number of items here:

Antidote: 50 Gil White Cape: 3000 Gil
Eye Drops: 50 Gil Silver Glasses: 3000 Gil
Echo Screen: 50 Gil Star Pendant: 4000 Gil

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It's not worth your while purchasing any yet, plus your Gil is very limited,
so just take a rest instead. Make sure to rest here in the Celsius at least
once in each chapter, this is also important. Once you've rested, head back to
the elevator and an announcement will occur - they've finished analyzing
things. So head back to the bridge.

[There's a save point on the bridge if you want to take advantage of it. Your
reading should say 2%, but it's really 2 and some percentage points. It rounds
your percentage down. -PP]

Treasure sphere waves, coming from Mt Gagazet! Here we see the first instance
of everyone acting like two-year-olds when they hear of a sphere, like it's
the world's greatest event. It gets annoying after a while. Anyways, we'll go
to the Mission Select screen, where Mt Gagazet will be listed as a hotspot.

If you've played Final Fantasy X, you'll be rather familiar with the layout of
Spira, including all the destinations listed on the screen. But for now, we
have no choice but to go to Gagazet. Onward march!

Sacred Mt Gagazet, city of the dead. Two years ago, the clouds around the peak
dispersed... revealing long-forgotten ruins. You'll find a lot of new nooks
and crannies and places hidden amongst familiar areas, this being one of them.

After the girls are dropped at the top, Yuna will become dizzy, and topple off
the top of the rocks they stand on. Luckily, she'll be caught by Rikku and
Paine. What's their status? Disasterrific! God, some of the dialogue in this
game is annoying. [It's a J-Pop game. Were you expecting Shakespeare? :P -PP]
Yuna's hanging over the edge of a cliff, who knows how many metres above the
ground, and Rikku and Brother get into an argument about the English language.
Anyways, they haul Yuna to safety, and she remarks that it was a little close.
A little close? Girl, you almost became a Yuna pancake, so hush. After she
reassures a panicking Brother that everything is okay, you can set off into
the ruins, in pursuit of the treasure sphere.

[The word "ho" is mentioned during the Yuna sequence. Is this a hidden message
from Square as to the easiness of Yuna? I THINK SO -PP]

Follow Rikku and Paine down into the ruins, and you'll be taught how to jump.
Basically, hold circle as you run, and you'll jump over any jumpable gap you
get to. It also applies to climbing and falling, so holding circle is a very
good idea. Once Rikku and Paine jump across the divide, fall down it to get to
the chest containing a Yellow Ring, before climbing back up and jumping across
after them.

Head down the stairs and save at the bottom. The blue globes are save spheres,
and you can use them to either save or board the Celsius. At the moment, cuz
we're still in the introductory phase of the game, we can't board and escape
the mission, so just save. Then move across into the dead end, which really
isnt a dead end as there's a glowing button on the far side. Press it, and the
elevator will crash downwards. Owwie!

Funnily, Brother doesn't bitch at Yuna's use of the word 'disasterrific'.
[Some people could learn from him, you know. ;) -PP] Jump down from the
elevator, and follow the path down to solid-ish ground. If you head left past
the waterfall, you'll find a treasure chest with an Elixir. Note, this is also
where normal random battles start occuring. Get Yuna out of Songstress and
back into Gunner by changing her dressphere, and fight as normal. Steal from
everything you come across, then beat it all to death. Here is also when you
should start looking at which abilities you want your characters learning, in
the menu in the Abilities screen.

[Get Yuna to learn Trigger Happy Level 2 as soon as possible. You will be
using this a lot more than Potshot, and at only 80 AP it won't take a terribly
long time to learn. I had Rikku learn Sticky Fingers right away, as it makes
sure you steal an item successfully every time. Very useful. As for Paine,
keep her on the path she's on. Those elemental attacks come in handy. -PP]

Once you've looted the chest, head back and up on the right, towards the giant
doorways. It can get kinda confusing to navigate around here, lots of small
platforms to jump between and around. Ignore the doorways, instead go across
and up towards the largish plateau.

Once there, a commotion will start up behind you - someone is following you!
As the cool music [?!? -PP] starts up, some familiar people will appear,
Leblanc and her gang have been tailing you through the ruins. Oh, maybe she'll
go away if you ignore her! Bleh. Oh, you guys are just a bunch of amateurs,
you have no idea of what it takes to be a true sphere hunter. And she wasn't
following you, it was just a pure coincidence that you both happen to be here.

Enter Logos and Ormi, who are happy that following you has paid off, just like
Leblanc said. Cue immature tittering from the Gullwings. (Argh, can I hit my
PS2 already?) Now you've made her angry again. Gullwings v. Leblanc Syndicate,
take two!

Okay, what did we learn from our last battle with these guys?

1) Darkness Dance is good.
2) They have good stuff to steal.
3) Power Breaking works wonders.

And we have three characters, so each can take a task. Have Yuna dance, Rikku
steal, and Paine Power Break. Once you've pickpocketed them, choose one
target, and attack with both characters while Yuna continues to dance.

Focus your attacks on Leblanc first, as she has the multi-target attacks, then
Ormi, as his attacks HURT. If Yuna should get to yellow health, take a turn
out (not one of Yuna's) to give her a Potion, then resume attacking. The three
shouldn't go down without too much of a fight.

That was her going easy on us? Bahaha. As she throws a smoke bomb to escape,
we have our first proper mission of the game!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission Time - Outrun the Leblanc Syndicate!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beat the Syndicate to the top! But watch out! There's no
telling what they'll do to stop you.

     Objective:
Be the first to the top of the ruins.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alrighty then! A race it is, between us and Leblanc to the top of the ruins
for the treasure sphere! We've got a six minute timer on us, to get to the
top. But it's not that difficult if you follow my lead.

Note: battle time and menu time do not count in the six-minute timer.

Follow the plateau you were standing on around, jumping the gap. In the very
far corner is a chest with a Mega Phoenix, so pick it up then go back and
climb up onto the next higher plateau. Instead of keeping heading up, head
along back to the left, down towards another set of giant doorway arches.
Inside, you will meet Logos laying in wait for you, and to delay you, he'll
set two goons and two Recoils on you.

The boss music plays, but it's not a real boss battle as you've prolly met all
these creatures before. Dispose of them all quickly, then head inside the
ruins. Here, just climb and jump along, heading straight, until you get back
outside.

Outside, you'll need to follow the path all the way around, from the left.
When you get to the end, Ormi will sic some Recoils and she-goons on you.
Piece of cake, wipe them out. Now, you've got to head around to the top. Head
up along the ledge on the left, the game will prompt you to jump when you get
near the end of the narrow bridge. Once you make it up to the pseudo-balcony,
follow it around to the right and at the very edge you'll find a Star Pendant.
Back to the start of the balcony, near where you jumped up, and jump across
to another small ledge leading upwards.

At the top, jump back to the main tower. When you reach the save point, if
you're still under the six minute timer (which you should be...), you'll see a
scene of Leblanc and her gang hanging off the edge of a cliff. [Leblanc tells
me to stop staring. Why would I stare at her ugly ass? -PP] Save, then keep
heading up - timer's off now. Grab the Muscle Belt from the chest near Leblanc
[What, I can't kick her off? -PP], then keep going and take the stairs up.

Of course, we're not just gonna waltz up and take the sphere now, are we.
There's something in here protecting it. And its name is Boris.

Is it just me, or does this guy look like the X-ATM092 from Final Fantasy
VIII? Could be my imaginitis. Either way, it's not that difficult. A party of
the typical warrior, gunner, thief works well here. Steal and Pilfer Gil from
the thief if you have it, Power Break and Flametongue from the warrior if you
have it, and lots of Trigger Happy from the gunner. He should go down without
too much of a fight.

After the battle, Leblanc is jealous that you guys made it here first. Of
course, in her expert opinion, the sphere is just a dud, perfect for the
Dullwings. Baha, you're just jealous. Again, they act like two year olds,
they'll be taking that sphere! Whoopee! [I get excited when I finish a FAQ,
most people don't care ;) Also, I fail to see how they acted bad here. :P -PP]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take the spoils from the Boris fight, then head back outside. The Celsius will
appear to pick you up - but Brother is not there, or with you.

                    Celsius                           (0.6% -> 6.6%)

1. Comfort Brother.
2. Collect the Black Mage dressphere.
3. Select a location from the Mission Select menu to visit.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Brother, it turns out, had jumped ship when he heard that Yuna was in trouble.
And here he is now, all bruised and beaten up. But he is alive, so Rikku just
wants to leave him there.

Shinra's going to analyze the sphere you found, so you can run around in the
meantime. Talk to Brother, and choose to comfort him. He's all the modest
hero, saying it was nothing, but then he tries to make a pass at Yuna.
(Remember, he's her cousin.) Rikku kicks him away, calling him a sicko. Too
right.

Talk to Shinra, and he will have finished analyzing the sphere, so you can
watch it. Inside is a scene of.... Zanarkand, it appears, for those familiar
with FFX. The original Zanarkand, a thousand years ago. A vaguely familiar
voice is thrilled to have gotten a ticket to something, and to be able to
shake her hand. Whose hand? We don't know. Rikku isn't impressed with the
sphere, and Paine angrily declares that it's junk. [Bunch of babies. -PP]

You can use it as a dressphere, however, and a Black Mage one at that. Make
sure to stick it on your Garment Grid, so you can use it. All of a sudden,
sirens flash, alarms sound, more treasure sphere data coming in! After
Buddy shames Brother into getting up off the floor, he tells of two treasure
spheres - one in Besaid, one in the Zanarkand ruins.

Now is where the game becomes as non-linear as you like. Speaking to Buddy
will activate the Mission Select screen, like you saw before when you went to
Gagazet. However, now you can go to wherever you like. The two locations,
Besaid and Zanarkand, have been marked as Hotspots, and going to either of
them will progress the story along. If you're interested in completing the
game quickly, you can simply go to the two locations and proceed from there.

However, seeing as this is a 100% Walkthrough, we'll stop in at all the places
along the way and get the most out of the game, milking it for percentage
points and interesting story tidbits :)

In each chapter, before completing any of the Hotspots, it's wise to visit
every locale and complete all the side missions there before going on with the
main quest. However, I'd like to do chapter 1 a little differently. We're
going to start from the top of the list, and visit each locale in turn,
INCLUDING Hotspots. Which means, first up is Besaid Island.

1. Travel to the village of Besaid and watch the entrance scene.
2. Visit Lulu in Wakka's hut.
3. Stay the night in the village.
4. Agree to go look for Wakka, accepting the "Where's Wakka?" mission.
5. Collect the four ciphers located around the island.
6. Unlock and enter the cave near the beach.
7. Speak with Wakka.
8. Find the sphere in the cave.
9. Defeat the Flame Dragon and obtain the White Mage dressphere.
10. Speak to Wakka to obtain the Besaid Sphere and complete the mission.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

The battles come thick and fast, here. Visit the village, the first stop on
our hunt for the treasure sphere. There, you'll meet Wakka, whose voice actor
has gotten horrendously horrible overnight :-/ Seriously, it's icky compared
to FFX Wakka. [Too right. It starts off okay, then goes all downhill... -PP]

Wakka thinks that Yuna's pretty different, now that she's embarked on life as
a sphere hunter. But he's still the same, and he's going to be a father soon!
He doesn't feel like one though... and doesn't know how a father should act...
and doesn't remember his own parents, so he can't use them as role models.
Does he have any spheres of them? Not a single---... and he cuts off,
mid-sentence. Something's shifty here. Now, we gotta go say hi to Lulu, cuz
she's been worried about Yuna.

Lulu can be found in Wakka's old hut, which is the middle one on the right
side. She's still the same as ever, and very non-pregnant-looking, which is
rather odd (thanks Square-Enix!) She wants to go for a walk, so the four of
you toddle off. [Seriously, she looks skinnier than in the original. WTF? -PP]

Up on the promentary overlooking Besaid, Lulu wants to know what was so
important for Yuna to leave Besaid. So she shows her the sphere, the one that
started it all, that Kimahri found on Gagazet, supposedly showing footage of
Tidus, Yuna's old lover, supposedly deceased. Lulu agrees, it looks like him,
but something's off. And it must be fun, doing whatever you please. Yuna gets
to spread her wings, but she must never forget who she is. She's High
Summoner, and she defeated Sin. There are people who would use that.
[*whistles innocently* -PP]

Back in the village, she might as well stay the night, so visit Lulu back in
her hut and tell her you want to stay. When you wake, talk to her outside.
Where's Wakka? He's gone, said something about a cave. So you're gonna go
after him, after all, there might be fiends! None of you have heard of a cave
in the area, though, so tell Lulu you'll ask around.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                        Mission Time - Where's Wakka?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wakka sure is acting weird. And now he's gone off to some
cave? Gather clues from the villagers and track him down!
Maybe you'll find treasure along the way...

     Objective
Find Wakka, and maybe something else...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So time to quiz the villagers. From the woman outside the south-east hut,
you'll find out that there's a contraption where the road forks near the
beach. From the man inside, that there's four ciphers that open up a door.
From the man squatting near Lulu's hut, that there are four numeric keys,
ciphers, hidden around the island. From the woman inside the north-east shop,
that we should start our search in the ruins.

From the woman walking out of the temple, the ciphers hidden by the shore are
numbers two and three of four. From the man walking out, that we might need to
use the circle button to look around. From the woman inside the temple,
talking about the spidery ruins over the path near the waterfall. Are we
putting together clues yet? From Jassu, in the old Crusader's Lodge - the
cipher easiest to see belongs before the other three. From Datto - atop the
shattered pillar's peak, you'll find the final clue you seek. From Keepa - we
should check the stone overlooking the village, there's a number inscribed
there that you can't miss. The mid-western hut holds a shop where you can
purchase the following items:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
                   Besaid Shop
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Potion: 50 Gil Soft: 50 Gil
Phoenix Down: 100 Gil Holy Water: 300 Gil
Antidote: 50 Gil Watery Gleam: 3000 Gil
Eye Drops: 50 Gil Blue Ring: 3000 Gil
          Echo Screen: 50 Gil
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Purchase what you like. Now, to make sense of the clues:

- There is a door located where the path forks, near the beach.
- Four ciphers, a four-digit code, is needed to unlock the door.
- These four numbers are hidden around the island.
- The easiest digit to see, on the stone statue overlooking Besaid, is the
  first in the code.
- Two digits hidden around the shore make up digits two and three.
- The last digit is on top of shattered ruins, over the path near the
  waterfall.

I've written all that for a reason. Because the numbers are completely random.
Once you've got all the clues, leave Besaid in search of the actual numbers.
Pass the save sphere, and on the next screen, you'll see a red dot. This
signifies the stone statue, the location of the first number. Write it down.

On the next screen, there's a red dot on top of the first pillar on the right,
this is the digit for the last clue, so digit 4. Jump up to read it, write it
down too. Keep going.

Brother will stop you, wanting to know if you're in any trouble. You guys are
fine, but his heart is aching... what the...? [ Heart.. yeah.. right ;) -PP]
Anyways, onto the shore for the other two clues. When you find the fork in the
road, the door is on the little squiggly path to the south, but we haven't got
all the codes yet, so go south towards the beach. Note: this door was not here
in FFX. Funny bout that.

Once on the shore, you'll see the next dot high above you, so jump up. Keep
heading up until you get to the ruined building on top, and read the cipher.
Heading further onto the beach, Yuna's earpiece will crackle, but nothing
happens, except for Buddy reassuring her nothing is wrong. Whatever. The last
cipher is on a hill on the far south-west corner of the beach, so get it, then
go back to the door.

When you examine the door, if you've gotten all the clues and the numbers, the
correct code will appear above. Enter it. Access granted! Enter the cave.

Inside, you will see Wakka, just sitting on the floor. Is there something in
this cave? Possibly... In amongst all Wakka's insane rambling, we find that
he's here looking for a sphere, but not really wanting to find it. So the
excited Gullwings set off, leaving Wakka there in his misery.

Head into the cave, and again Brother will check on Yuna. It's really getting
annoying. When you reach the fork, the bottom path leads to a chest with 2x
Potion, and the top leads to a save sphere, so we need to go that way. Battles
in here can be kinda tough, especially if you meet a Coeurl. [Run from them.
They will kick your skinny little ass at this point. -PP] Make your way across
the platforms, and save.

Just ahead is the sphere we're looking for it. Examine it, and a large fiend
will appear behind you. Look out, Gullwings!

                   Flame Dragon

  BASIC: LV: 16 (21) HP: 980 (1,883) AP: 1 (2)

  STEAL: Hi-Potion x1
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Straight away, we've got one BIG clue. Flame Dragon. Get out your ice attacks,
pronto! Paine should have Ice Brand by now, and one other character can be a
black mage and use Blizzard.

First off, Power Break him, because his attacks are powerful. Flame Breath
will wipe 150 HP off each character. Once he's broken, have Paine using Ice
Brand every turn, have a black mage (I used Rikku) casting Blizzard every
turn, and have your third character (Yuna, in my case) using support. Potions
and the like, squeezing in a Trigger Happy if everyone was over about
three-quarters HP. It shouldn't be THAT difficult.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Yuna will party like it's 1999 [Translation - she mutters a sentence. The
nerve! -PP] when she takes the sphere, which is actually a White Mage
dressphere. Whee! Place it on your Garment Grid of choice.

Save, then head back to Wakka. Together, the four of you will watch the sphere
you found, which turns out to be just a small overview of the Besaid
countryside. The Besaid Sphere item gets added to your inventory, for this.
But it wasn't what Wakka was looking for.

It turns out he was actually looking for a sphere of his parents. Chappu, his
younger brother, told him once, long ago, that he found a sphere with mom and
dad in it, and wasn't gonna tell him where it was! And eventually he forgot
about it, until yesterday when you guys were talking about parents...

But in the end, he didn't really want to find that sphere after all. He has
this picture of his parents in his head, not real of course... strong, kind...
but they might not be like that, they might be totally different. So he'll
forget all about this mythical sphere, and concentrate on pulling himself
together for his unborn child.

[Buddy comes in over the headset and says Brother's starting to annoy him,
followed by one of the most annoying Brother laughs ever, and that's saying
something. Gee, wonder why. -PP]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Mission Complete!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And you get the Protection Halo Garment Grid for your efforts here in Besaid.

The people are swarming all around Yuna, they LOVED her concert! Pity it
wasn't her though, huh. It all started with the Garment Grid, the invention
that lets them harness the dressphere's power...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission Time - Behind the Scenes
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Retrace Yuna's steps during her impostor's concert in Luca.
The truth is out there. Find it!

     Objective:
Learn the whole story behind the concert.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No, we don't get a choice in accepting this mission either. Yuna starts
remembering the concert, beginning with the easy part of ambushing Logos and
Ormi at the end. But this is how it really began - YRP chasing the thieves to
Luca, then hearing about the concert. And so, the real Yuna had to be
disguised...

Yes, that's a moogle suit she's wearing. A full-body moogle suit. This is
where I started going... okay what were the developers smoking... Yuna in a
moogle suit? [Well, she had to disguise herself somehow and all.. -PP]
Anyways, while Rikku and Paine are going in to bust the fake Yuna, the real
one should just behave herself until the time comes to play as herself again.
Hey, the kids like her costume!

As the moogle, follow Rikku and Paine down the steps into Luca. In real time,
the three girls are reminiscing the events, going through it step by step.
What Yuna did next remained a secret... but not for long. In the main square
of Luca, the moogle Yuna gets ambushed and called over by a balloon-seller.
Since you don't really have a choice, go over and talk to him, he's sitting
right under the flag on the balloon stand.

She's here to promote the concert, right? Well, no, but the man doesn't care,
here's her task, don't screw up! Balloon Drive! You have to hand out ten
balloons to the people in the plaza, to build up buzz for the concert. Sigh.

Let's do this quickly. The ten balloons go out to the following people:

- The woman on the other side of the balloon stand
- The kid standing in front of the statue
- The two people on the park bench, left side of the statue
- The person on the park bench, far left side of the plaza
- The two people sitting on the ground, top of stairs, north-west corner
- The two announcers (examine the window just right of the two previous people
  to reveal the announcer's booth)
- The doorman outside the cafe, northern path of plaza.

For completing this task, you get the Healing Wind Garment Grid! Whee!

Now, this is when YRP snuck into position, as was signified in the opening
scene. Rikku remembers how packed the stadium was, and Paine thinks Leblanc
was enjoying herself until she got hurt. Moogle Yuna tries to get into the
stadium, but gets turned away at the door. So she runs away, when the guards
hear of gatecrashers and turn into the familiar goons.

[Yes, the awesome battle music comes back! This is easily my fave song in the
game next to the 2 singing songs. Why couldn't this be the normal battle
theme? *sigh* Oh well, I'll let my baby get back to recapping this scene..
-PP]

She didn't know what to do, so she just ran, with Leblanc in close pursuit,
and Rikku and Paine chasing Leblanc. However, she gets tired, so she stops on
dock 2, and crumples in a corner. Ah, now we know why the hell we found and
examined a moogle for, in the opening mission, eh? The moogle was Yuna!

After Rikku examines her and runs away, we see Leblanc's cronies, that clued
Yuna in to the fact that bad shit was going on. So she gets out of the moogle
suit, and goes off in hot pursuit of Logos and Ormi. There they remember the
battle scene, how Yuna stole all the fun. [Brother: Yuna dancing?!? Where?
Funny stuff. -PP]

This is Yuna's life now. Travelling around, day to day. She likes it, but
sometimes she gets sad, missing what she had before.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Mission Complete!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And we're transported back onto the Celsius automatically. Wait! We weren't
finished in Luca! We hadn't visited the stadium! Grgrgrgrgrrrr.... head back
to Luca.

Once back in Luca, right near the entrance to the Mi'ihen Highroad, make your
way back to the blitzball/concert stadium, following the path. Talking to the
lady behind the counter outside the stadium, she will ask you if you're
familiar with Sphere Break. Well, are you?

Sphere Break is a great way to pass the time during the blitzball off season.
Players are already there, downstairs near the locker rooms. There's a big
tournament coming up soon, so learn the rules and practice hard!

Sphere Break is the major mini game of FFX-2. We'll go to visit the players
downstairs near the locker rooms, starting with the right one, so head up the
stairs and down toward the right locker room. There you'll see all the sphere
break players congregating... including a rather familiar face, Rin!

Rin was a merchant in FFX, he owned a string of Al Bhed shops that provided
refuge and items for weary travellers. So, what's he selling this time?
Entertainment! Now that the people of Spira have time to relax, he's
introduced Sphere Break! Luca will host the inaugural tournament soon, and
everyone's excited. Will you compete in it? Of course!

For talking with Rin, you get Al Bhed Primer XXII. If you actually want to
learn about how to play Sphere Break, and practice, you'll need to go to the
other set of locker rooms. Talk to the little guy dressed in purple there, and
he'll go through the rules of how to play. These rules are detailed in the
"Optional Stuff" section, under "Sphere Break". [It's a lot of fun, so make
sure to check it out later. -PP]

Going through the actual rules of the game will get you 5x Helm Coin, 5x
Zurvan Coin, 5x Coyote Coin, and 5x Flan Coin. You can also practice against
him, if you like. Once you've gone through all the Sphere Break details, or at
least obtained the coins and met Rin, you can return to the Celsius.

Zanarkand two years past. Indeed, it was a journey filled with laughter. [You
might as well pick up the Phoenix Down x2 in the chest. -PP]

1. Follow Logos and Ormi down the road.
2. Speak with Yaibal, and accept the "Foggy Fiend Frenzy!" mission.
3. Speak with Clasko before beginning the mission.
4. Follow Logos and Ormi into the ravine.
5. Take Crimson Sphere 9 in the Den of Woe.
6. Meet Maroda, and find out how Isaaru is.
7. Complete the "Foggy Fiend Frenzy!" mission.
8. Meet Lucil at Youth League headquarters, and talk to her twice.
9. Let Maechen speak what's on his mind, then shake his hand.
10. Go back and talk with Clasko, allowing him to board the Celsius.
11. Meet him in the cabin on the Celsius.
12. Watch Crimson Report One.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Once on the Mushroom Rock Road, just start down it until you see Logos and
Ormi, up ahead of you. What are they here for? Maybe there's a sphere here...
it's your turn to do the following now, so follow them.

Up ahead, you'll be stopped by Yaibal, of the Youth League. Of course, if
you're new to the game, you have no freakin' idea what the Youth League is.
Anyways, they've been conducting a sphere hunt of their own. They, the Youth
League, to better their understanding of Spira's past, vow to remain vigilant
in their search, for ruins and spheres. Hey, it's Clasko! Remember Clasko, the
chocobo knight? He's now working with the Youth League, but he sounds pretty
bored and depressed.

Leblanc's men did pass through there, they said they were going to take care
of their fiend problem. The Youth League is in preparation for an important
operation, and as a result the road to headquarters has been overrun with
fiends. Are we gonna run the gauntlet? IS MY BABY SEXY? Hell yes! [Awwww =D
-PP] Accept the mission.

Before we enter the mission, however, speak to Clasko, who's directing you on
which path to take to go towards headquarters. He followed Captain Lucil, also
of the chocobo knights, to the Youth League, when the Calm began, but its just
not his cup of tea. All he ever wanted was to ride on a chocobo... faster than
the wind!

Leave Clasko there now, and enter the mission by following the path and the
red arrow.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission Time - Foggy Fiend Frenzy!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Youth League is a bit shorthanded. Help them out by
clearing out the fiends along Mushroom Rock Road! Fiends
will attack more often under the cover of fog. Proceed
          with caution!

     Objective:
Reach the lift leading to headquarters.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The mission briefing is right in that you should move only when the sun is
out. If you don't, you're in for an assload of battles. But you might like
that, I dunno. If your name is Steve and you are co-writing this FAQ, you will
LOVE that, levelling freak he is. [BRING THEM ON -PP]

NOTE: If you see a Tonberry, resist the urge to go up and hug it. Steal from
it, then RUN. You can't kill them at this point of the game, for they
       have 9999 HP.

NOTE: I'd keep a Black Mage in your party at all times, for when you run into
Red Elementals. Those things pack a punch unless you kill them quick.
I'd actually pick Black Mage, White Mage, and Gunner/Warrior as a good
       party here.

[I recommend Yuna staying as a Gunner till she learns Trigger Happy Level 2,
then switch her to a Warrior so she can learn some of those abilities. Have
the other two become WM/BM (either one will work for either one) and leave
them on their current abilities. -PP]

Follow the path, and head up on the plate. Now's where the light gets dim.
Once up, simply follow the path until you see Logos and Ormi. Keep following
them, and you'll see that instead of following the main path, they jump down
into a ravine. Follow them down the boulder staircase.

Where are we now? Who knows... but it's mighty dark down here...

Once in the ravine, you'll spot a treasure chest just ahead on the left,
containing a Turbo Ether. Keep moving through, and after you make it through
the narrow doorway (ignore the small path to the left, that's where you found
the Godhand in FFX) you'll spot a chest with a Phoenix Down, top of screen.
Keep following the narrow path along, avoiding all detours. Pick up the
Hi-Potion, then follow the curve around. Save at the save point, then head
inside the cave.

Inside, you'll find Logos and Ormi, with arms full of spheres, trying them in
slots on the door. However, when you spot them, they hurriedly collect all
their spheres and disappear in a puff of smoke... accidentally leaving one
sphere lying on the ground. Woot, Crimson Sphere 9 is ours. So what were they
doing, trying to fit them in the door? Touch the door, and one of the arms on
it will light up.

When you go to leave the cave, a familiar figure will be standing in the
doorway. Of course you remember him, it's Maroda, former guardian of Isaaru.
He's also with the Youth League, and he's happy to hear that Yuna is trying
out a new life as a sphere hunter. You know, Pacce, he and Isaaru's younger
brother, is also a sphere hunter. But he refuses to say how Isaaru is...

This cave is named the Den of Woe, and was sealed around Operation Mi'ihen,
two years ago. But the seal can be broken with the right combination of
spheres... so we'll try to open it later on, when we get more spheres. And
with that, he kicks you out of the Den.

But, but, but, we want to know how Isaaru is! So bug Maroda until he tells you
that Isaaru hasn't changed a bit. Hmph, better than nothing, I suppose.
Anyways, we're through there, so back to the mission of hunting down fiends
and going to Youth League headquarters.

Make your way back through the ravine, and out onto the road. Continue along
the twists and turns of the road. The actual progress isn't that hard, but the
battles might be unless you have a good party set up.

*repeats my mantra about White Mage, Black Mage, and Warrior/Gunner*

When you get to the end of the path, step on the plate to go up. At the top,
proceed along and you'll meet up with Elma, also formerly of the chocobo
knights. She's been doing well, she's always got something to do in the Youth
League! And she's impressed that you made it past all the fiends.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Mission Complete!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And you get a Glass Buckle and Heart of Flame Garment Grid for completing the
mission.

If you head past Elma, and down along the path, you'll find a chest with the
Favorite Outfit accessory. And if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's
Itchproof, eh ;) Now go back and head up on the lift.

See the Youth League headquarters - you haven't been in this part of town
since Operation Mi'ihen. And we get a bit of history on the Youth League - it
was formed a year ago by people who opposed New Yevon. It's members claim
that, in the hands of New Yevon, Spira will only repeat its past mistakes. The
Youth League is led by a guy named Nooj, a former Crusader. I like Nooj. Very
much so. [Best character in the game. Gasp, we agree on something.. -PP]

At the headquarters, take the little side road on the right, opposite the save
sphere, to find a chest with the Restless Sleep Garment Grid. Then, proceed
right up to the front door to meet Lucil. Unfortunately, she won't let us
through to speak with Nooj [Noojie Woojie! -PP], as he is busy preparing the
important operation :( Keep speaking with her until she's got nothing more to
say.

To the right of Lucil is a familiar little man dressed in green, named
Maechen. He's Spira's resident historian, and he likes to talk. So let him
tell you a story.

This part is very important - let him talk. Don't encourage him to go on,
don't tell him to be quiet, just let him talk. On and on. He'll whittle
for about ten minutes, so just put the controller down and go do something
else if need be. However, he does give really good insight into Spiran
history, or the last two years of it anyways. Really interesting listening, if
you can put up with his crackly old voice. I'm not gonna go through it all,
cuz it would take far too long - just listen to it for yourself. I'm going to
go refill my cherry coke while he talks. [LMAO, I did the same exact thing.
-PP]

At the end, he's all in awe at being in Yuna's presence, and asks to shake her
hand. Reply in the affirmative, this is also important. So now we know all
about the history of New Yevon, and the Youth League, and how they compete for
spheres. Something tells me that the Gullwings are gonna get stuck right in
the middle...

Anyways, we're just about through here at Mushroom Rock Road, for now. But
remember, a poor man who was very depressed doing his job as tour guide, who
wanted to ride chocobos as fast as the wind. Let's go back and talk to Clasko,
shall we? You can board the airship and disembark back at the start of the
road if you wish, and you'll find him right near the save point, head in his
hands. He doesn't know what he wants out of life anymore, he's spent his whole
life drifting from one failure to the next. But he knows there's a place for
everyone in the world - even people like him. So he asks you if he can ride
your airship, in search of his place in the world. Aww, we're nice girls and
all, so let him.

He runs off to go board the ship, so follow him. And cuz we're really REALLY
nice girls [Hey, speak for yourself :P -PP], we'll even check up on him on
board to make sure he's okay. He's in the Cabin, so go there. Poor guy, he's
all racked up cuz the room won't stop shaking :( It'll get better Clasko, I
promise!

Now, to watch the sphere we dug up in the Den of Woe. Take it to Shinra, and
watch it, it's listed under Treasure Spheres as Crimson Report One. What's on
it? A dead body, a battlefield, a massacre. Total survivors of the final
Crimson Squad selection exercise, the narrator boasts, zero, zilch, zip all.
They killed every last one of them. And no, they didn't bother to count.

... okay, what was all THAT about? It shall become clear...

1. Watch the entrance scene.
2. Register for digging.
3. Converse with Gippal on the Djose bridges.
4. Obtain the 'Letter of Introduction'.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

[The music in this place is one of my few well liked songs in an otherwise
drab soundtrack. Rock on! -PP]

Yuna firstly speaks of how Djose Temple was abandoned after Yevon fell. But
just look at it now! People everywhere... all staring at Yuna... and she's
uncomfortable with it, and she can't work out why they're doing it. Uh, Yuna,
you're High Summoner remember? Responsible for saving the world? Duh, you can
be a bit slow sometimes. [All that "sphere hunting" musta gotten to her.. -PP]
[Sphere hunting? That's what they call it now? -K]

As Yuna walks off in a huff, after Paine calls her old, a new figure arrives
on the scene, complete with weird-ass-but-totally-cool music. Say, who's this
spunk? It's Gippal, leader of the Machine Faction. Rikku knows him? Apparently
so. Anyways, he's here to do some interviews.

Interviews for what? Try to follow him into the temple, and you'll see. The
people being interiewed are here to make money digging, do we wanna do that?
Meh, let's give it a shot. First we gotta register though, so get in the line
of people over to the right.

Well, we don't actually gotta get in the line, just hang around until the line
disappears. Talking to different people and killing time will cause the queue
to shorten, so when it disappears entirely, then we can enter the tent. Take
the Phoenix Down in the chest on the very left of screen. [Go behind the
counter and talk to the guy for a funny comment. -PP]

Seems like the Al Bhed are now calling themselves the Machine Faction, to get
rid of the stigma that goes with the word 'machina'. Does it work? Well, no.
Head into the tent when you're ready, and there you can get an overview of
what the point of this whole digging exercise is. By digging, you make money,
and also help the Machine Faction do their research. Sounds cool, sign us up.
Once you've registered, you can head straight into the temple.

Inside, Gippal is talking about needing three people... and he's hella
surprised to see someone like Yuna there, wanting to dig. He gives you Al Bhed
Primer IV, then tells you to follow him outside. Do so, and head all the way
out of the temple along the bridges. Gippal's a smooth talker, but is a bit
too sleazy for Yuna's tastes. So he moves on to the rest of the Gullwings,
acknowledging 'Cid's girl', asking about Brother and Buddy, who are the same
as ever. Then Paine.... whom Gippal is shocked to see. She introduces herself
coldly, not giving him any leeway when he's acting like they obviously know
each other. They're here for the interview, remember?

As soon as you acknowledge that you really do wanna dig, you're hired. Just
like that. He doesn't know why a superstar like Yuna wants to play in the
sand, but he doesn't really care, she can dig if she wants. And he gives you
the Letter of Introduction key item, to give to Nhadala in the Bikanel desert.
This letter is what we came here for. Once you've got it, you can reboard the
Celsius. Note that Bikanel Desert is now a Hotspot on the map.

[It is important to go back to the Celsius, even though you can get to
Moonflow from here. You get added percentage points from going back to the
ship and watching an extra scene in Moonflow. -PP]

1. Watch the entrance scene.
2. Talk to Tobli to learn about the mission.
3. Meet Tobli's assistant and begin the "Shave the Hypello?" mission.
4. Defeat all five bandits that approach the wagon.
5. Complete the "Shave the Hypello?" mission.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Yuna is happy that people seem to smile more often now, and that they can
notice the beauty around them, like around the Moonflow area. It is indeed
very pretty. She's on the south bank of the Moonflow, near the road to Djose.
In the corner of the path, you'll spot a small creature in red, toddling
around rapidly. What's his problem?

This is Tobli, and one day he'll be sponsoring an extraordinary show on this
very path! He has a favour to ask of you, before you leave. Paine and Rikku
don't want to hear it, but Yuna's a big softy so she agrees to hear him out.
Tobli's assistant, on his way back from Luca, hasn't returned. He went to get
some vitally important supplies for the show... so he wants you to check on
him. But you guys are sphere hunters, not babysitters! Ah, that's when he
shows you the reward for helping him out - a sphere. [They do act a little
weird when seeing the sphere this time.. -PP]

The missing Hypello assistant is somewhere in the direction of Djose Temple,
so we must take the Moonflow road that way. Follow the road along until you
hear the Hypello wailing about being 'in trubbable', almost at Djose. (Hey, a
little fighting never hurt anyone, in getting there.) Talk to him, and the
Gullwings will agree to escort him back to Tobli.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission Time - Shave the Hypello?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If bandits grab the cargo, chase them down and take it
back! You'll lose the cargo if they get away.

     Objective:
Escort the wagon and its cargo safely to the Moonflow.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once you start the mission, the assistant and his wagon will begin to roll
slowly towards the Moonflow. Your job, as escorts, is to stick close by. There
are five cases on the back of the wagon, and there must be five when you
arrive at the Moonflow.

Partway along the path, a bandit will appear and grab a case from the wagon.
When he runs off, chase him down and fight him, to retrieve the case. After
the battle, head back to the wagon and proceed slowly.

More bandits will ambush the wagon, and your job is to keep fighting them off.
For the next part, make sure you're travelling in front of the wagon, to the
left of the chocobo. The second ambush will involve two bandits, both coming
from that direction, so if you're lucky, you can stop both of them before they
even get to the wagon. At least make sure to nab one. When you've killed one,
run hehind the wagon, wait for the second to grab a case then jump off, then
annihilate him too.

When you get to the bend, the wagon will stop. Simply run ahead, and the wagon
will reappear on the next screen, slightly ahead of you, so run hard to catch
up. For the third group of bandits, you'll need to travel the same as you did
the second, front left, although this time the second bandit will come from
behind. Nab the first, that will run up from behind, then the second will grab
a case then go to run north again. Kill him too, to get the case.

Once you've dealt with the three sets of thieves, proceed up to the south bank
of the Moonflow, back to greet Tobli. For this, you will obtain the Gun Mage
dressphere, the Circlet accessory, and the Helios Guard Garment Grid.

[This took me a few tries to do, so congratulations. -PP]

Not much to do in Guadosalam, either. It seems like the Guado are on the brink
of extinction - either way, terrible things have happened to them, sort of a
just desserts after what they did to Spira. Some say they deserve it, but it
just makes Yuna sad.

Say, who lives in Seymour's old manor now? By the looks of the guards outside
it, and the people coming and going, Leblanc lives there. There's also a shop
in Guadosalam, on the second level, and you can purchase some decent items.

Once you've shopped, head over to the old Farplane, on the very top road of

their memories of the dead, and that she wanted to visit, to see Tidus there.
She isn't actually allowed to enter, however. :(

1. Watch the entrance scene.
2. Speak with Bayra at the woods entrance.
3. Speak with Donga at the spring.
4. Speak with Pukutak in the north section of the woods.

6. Observe the Al Bhed outside the travel agency.
7. Chase O'aka, beginning the "Where's That O'aka?" mission.
8. Complete the mission, and let O'aka aboard the Celsius.
9. Visit him onboard.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Macalania has changed, since the temple sank. It's not only affected the lake,
but the woods as well. How have they changed? We shall soon see.

[The battles here can be a little tricky. Have a combo of BM/WM with Yuna
being whatever (I had Warrior), WM can heal every round with Pray while BM
casts elemental magic, mostly lightning. -PP]

Once you enter the woods proper, you'll meet a man that goes by the name of
Bayra. The woods will soon be no more, he says, before he teleports off. The
Guado have fled here, to Macalania Woods, and now they've scattered. Bayra has
a few friends, around the woods, that we should meet. The first is Donga, and
she can be found at the spring (which will be rather familiar to FFX players,
and makes me want to sing 'Suteki da ne' every time I visit there.)
[Overrated. I'll get the couch ready.. -PP]

To get to the spring, head right from the save sphere, right again, then
south. Donga appears to be Scottish, or so his accent would suggest. A
Scottish Guado? Interesting. [Best. Voice Acting. EVAR. Bar none. -PP] The end
is coming for the Guado, faster than Donga thought, and there's not much they
can do. He too teleports off, after telling someone that he'll be there in two
shakes.

The final member of the trio is Pukutak, and to find her, you'll have to go
through the woods towards Lake Macalania. From the main path, you'll have to
head up into the tree-tops, around the curves, until you find Pukutak, sitting
near the first corner on the fourth screen. Notice something all three
characters have in common? They're all musicians of sorts, which comes into
play later. She's on her way to meet someone, so she waddles to a peak and
teleports away... very solemnly. The Guado are sad. Their race is dying.

Once you've met all three, keep going through the woods until you get to the
next screen, the Lake Road. There's a familiar face to meet at the lake, which
is the north-eastern exit from the road. Go all the way into the lake, where
you met the Spherimorph in FFX. [What a bitch that boss was. -PP] There stands
Tromell Guado, a man who committed more sins in the name of Yevon than most.

He's very apologetic for his actions, and sorry that with Lord Seymour gone,
the Guado are rarely different from the dead. Talk to him again, and he talks
about the Ronso also losing their lives because of Seymour. The Ronso decided
to get revenge, so the Guado blockaded themselves in Guadosalam. Soon, they
couldn't even hold them out. Keep talking to him to get the rest of the story.
He doesn't want sympathy for the Guado, for they followed Seymour willingly,
even as he led Spira into madness. (Remember Tromell shattering Jyscal's
sphere in FFX?) He doesn't want to be forgiven, only forgotten. When Yuna
reveals that she's a sphere hunter now, Tromell remembers a sphere he found,
that is no use to him. It's Paine's special dressphere, Full Throttle.

And we get a short tutorial on how to use special dresspheres. Basically, if
you switch from your starting dressphere, to every other dressphere on your
Garment Grid, in the one battle, you can then access the special dressphere by
pressing L1. Obviously, the fewer dresspheres on your Garment Grid, the easier
this is to do. So Tromell also gives you the Unerring Path Garment Grid, to
assist in this.

Once he walks off, we can continue through the woods. Back on Lake Road, keep
heading north to reach the travel agency on the lake. Well, what used to be
the lake. There are Al Bhed surrounding the agency, and as far as we can tell,
they're there trying to capture O'aka. Remember O'aka the XXIII, merchant
extraordinaire? He makes a return here, only he's a fugitive. You get Al Bhed
Primer XVI for watching the Al Bhed here. However, if you stand still and
watch them, you'll find out that he's not in the agency. He's right behind
you, but he turns and runs. So chase him back down the Lake Road.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission Time - Follow That O'aka!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
O'aka is on the run from debt collectors. Go hunt him down,
but stay on your toes! He's faster than the average merchant.

     Objective:
          Find O'aka and corner him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's look at it this way. Of the roads we've traversed in the woods so far,
was there anywhere for him to hide? No. He wasn't in the spring, because we
chased him past there. So he's either at the other spring, where we found
Donga, or in that vicinity somewhere. Head back that way. You can take the
south-east exit from Lake Road, the shimmering path, to avoid enemy
encounters.

[Actually you'll still get into battles occasionally, sometimes with Anormopus
gels. RUN LIKE THE WIND if you see them. They will win otherwise. -PP]

NOTE: In front of the celestial plant, the one that powered up your celestial
weapons in FFX, you'll find a chest with a Turbo Ether.

If you take the right road from the save sphere, you'll see O'aka running off
in that direction, so follow him. The right guard guarding the path to Bevelle
tells you that the guy with the rucksack went thataway, so go thataway. He's
not in the spring, nor is he on the road to the Calm Lands. Is he in the
campsite? Ask the Guado. He has a lot of visitors today, doesn't he? BAHA! No,
you weren't supposed to say that.

Talk to him again, and you'll see O'aka, hiding in the tree. Which tree? The
one in the back-left corner. So examine the tree and you'll find him. He also
had a voice change too, it seems... and like Wakka, a decidedly bad one. [I
think Enix hired these losers. -PP]

So why are the Al Bhed after him? Well, he bought the Macalania travel agency
from Rin, but then the temple went under, sinking business as well. Now the Al
Bhed are after him, seems he still owed them money that he was going to pay
back with business profits. He asks it you could give him a place to lay low
for a while. Of course, because he's a good merchant, just unlucky, let him
stay on your ship.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Mission Complete!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For completing this mission, you get the Ice Queen Garment Grid. And, like
Clasko, we're gonna be nice girls and check on O'aka, on board the airship.
He's in the cabin, examining paintings on the wall. Talk to him, and in the
corner of the screen you'll see his debt - 100,000 gil. Now me, right here, I
had 8,141 gil. Did you know that when you buy things from him, you settle his
debt? So we have to pay him 100,000 gil before the Al Bhed will stop hunting
him. Of course, we can be shifty, buy things, then sell them to Barkeep,
making a loss, but still not handing him 100,000 gil outright. You can start
the buy/sell process right now, but ultimately, you'll need to settle his debt
by the end of chapter 3. [CHEAT TO WIN, WHOOO -PP]

3. Talk to Gippal, then the two men to the left of the left dune buggy.
4. Show Nhadala the Letter of Introduction.
5. Begin the "Can You Dig It?" mission.
6. Complete the mission successfully and collect your reward.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Now we're off to the Hotspot of Bikanel, to obviously do some digging. Bikanel
is where the Al Bhed Home stood two years ago, before the Guado invaded it.
Now, some Al Bhed still reside there, as there are supposedly countless
machina hidden beneath the sands.

Like two years ago, Rikku supposedly knows the way to go here. And just like
two years ago, she gets hopelessly lost. "I don't think that sand dune used to
be there..." Follow her anyways, completing the random mandatory battles.
[Random mandatory, eh? :P -PP] Eventually, the three girls, get so tired with
all the aimless walking that they pass out.

All is not lost, however, as a Watcher spots you and reports you, so that the
Al Bhed come and pick you up, to take you to the digging headquarters. You get
Al Bhed Primer XXIII when the man speaks with you, upon arrival.

When you're free to move, you can find Gippal on the right hand side of the
dune buggies. The camp was moved to avoid a sandstorm, Rikku reports, so they
could have looked forever and never found it. (Way to ship the blame from your
horrid navigation, Rikku.) The storm is coming in now, and it's too big for
the airship to handle, so they won't be leaving that way.

So anyways, where's Nhadala, to give her the Letter of Introduction so we can
get digging? Talk to the pilot in front of the main buggy, he doesn't know. So
talk to the two next to it. This will prompt Nhadala's dramatic arrival. Now
you'll find her walking around in between the two buggies. Talk to her to
trigger a scene. Hand over the Letter of Introduction when Rikku prompts you
to. You won't get any special treatment, Yuna, even though you're high
summoner. Your first mission is in a distant expanse of sand, which you can
get to by hover. [Oh man I hate digging.. -PP]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission Time - Can You Dig It?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dig up the machina parts that Nhadala asked you to find in
the desert and transport them safely to camp.

     Objective:
Dig up and deliver the required parts.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*roars* Can you dig it, SUCKAAAAAAA? I think we can. [You didn't say that.-PP]
So talk to the pilot, and he'll agree to take you to the Western Expanse, a
relatively safe area for beginners. Oh, and meet your partner, Picket. What,
the Watcher? Bahhh.... [Hey, sweetcakes! Haha. -PP]

Once you arrive, you'll get the digging basics. We're really only interested
in the yellow Xs, which are the mission items. When you're on top of one,
press X to dig it up. You've only got a limited time, 60 seconds in this case.
If you stray too far from the hover, Picket will warn you.

And the mission begins! Oh boy, this is damn easy... there's one mission item,
to the left of the map. Run past the hover and over to it, mashing X when
you're in the general vicinity, on top of the X on the map. Yuna will dig it
up, then Picket tells you to get back to the hover. Return safely, and you're
done. Geez.

Nhadala is impressed with your digging skills *cough*, but warns you not to
get a big head. [Too late.. I even have a spare one.. -PP]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Mission Complete!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your reward for completing the mission: 100 gil, the Still of Night Garment
Grid, and an Elixir. You can keep digging if you like, and collecting rewards,
but it is generally not a good practice to dig too much. You'll find out why
later.

                   Bevelle                            (0.6% -> 21.2%)
--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

1. Watch the entrance scene.
2. Enter the city of Bevelle and meet Baralai.
3. Follow him into the temple and collect the Tiara from him.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Even though Yevon is no more, Bevelle remains the heart of Spira. The capital
city, if you like. It's Yuna's home town, for she was born here, but she
doesn't have fond memories of it. [WHERE IS PAINE'S HOMETOWN?!? -PP]

Run down the highbridge until you enter Bevelle itself. This is all stuff we
never got to see in FFX, well, we saw it briefly for like five seconds before
Bevelle was placed off-limits. [At least Square didn't have to magically add
stuff not found in FFX this time. -PP] Keep moving into the township until a
woman stops you and directs you one way. Ah, it appears as if the high
summoner has decided to join New Yevon. Well, no, not really... but the man
will summon the praetor immediately.

Yuna is uncomfortable in Bevelle, and wants to leave immediately. There was an
arrangement, you see, with the son of the chairman of New Yevon, that she
turned down, which makes things kind of awkward. (Um, eh?) Paine agrees to go,
but Rikku holds them back. And out comes Baralai, Praetor of New Yevon. [That
scene didn't really make much sense.. -PP]

He's not the chairman's son in question, as both the chairman and his son
resigned recently, leaving the younger members to run the party. So, you see,
it wasn't he that was intended to marry the high summoner (ahhh... the
arrangement...), but they would appreciate your support regardless, she would
be most welcome in New Yevon.

He goes off on a ramble about how Spira is changing, and people are struggling
to keep up. They want to help those who are lost in the winds of change, or
some mumbo-jumbo like that. Not hard to tell what my alliance is here, is it?
[I'm more concerned with that terrible bow thing he does. -PP]

Once the scene's over, and the group finish checking Baralai out, follow him
into the temple. For some reason, every time I enter this temple, I feel like
screaming the words "The precepts must be obeyed!" Anyways. Inside, take the
lift up to the first floor, and grab the Tiara from Baralai. Not much else to
do here. Gullwings, move out.

                   Calm Lands                         (0.2% -> 21.4%)
--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

1. Watch the entrance scene.
2. Begin the Publicity mission.
3. Begin the Marriage mission.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Many summoners have crossed the Calm Lands, their hearts heavy with the
responsibilities of their pilgrimage. But they've changed now, into a
veritable circus-land of games and attractions!

None of these games are actually necessary to play, over the course of the
game. Therefore, they're detailed well in the Calm Lands section of the
Optional Stuff section. There are two important things to do here, however.
They're not necessary to be done now, not they need to be done over the course
of the game, so why not start now?

The game will give you a brief overview on the Calm Lands, and their
attractions run by Open Air Inc. and Argent Inc. However, Open Air are
struggling, and they're in desperate need of some publicity. If you step up to
any of the attractions (marked with a grey triangle on your radar), and talk
with the Open Air promoter, you have a choice of a Publicity mission. Accept
the Publicity mission, then take the time out to read about it. Basically, you
can travel all around Spira and hawk Open Air attractions to all the people,
earning yourself Publicity Points. The more points you earn, the better.
Details on how many points are required will come around later, when it's
relevant. For now, focus on talking to NPCs, and pressing square to have the
chance to publicize Open Air.

There's another similar mission you can do. Travel to the travel agency, in
the center of the Calm Lands. The man behind the counter will sell you items:

                   Calm Lands Travel Agency
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Potion: 50 Gil Holy Water: 300 Gil
Phoenix Down: 100 Gil Iron Bangle: 500 Gil
Antidote: 50 Gil Silver Bracer: 500 Gil
Eye Drops: 50 Gil Wristband: 1000 Gil
Echo Screen: 50 Gil Amulet: 1000 Gil
          Soft: 50 Gil

The man standing to the right will, out of the blue, ask you if you want to
marry his son. Uh? He's a homebody, so it might be hard to find him a wife.
[His son is the "fruit of his loins", which is something I did not need to
know. -PP] Choose whichever option when the father pops the question, but
either way, he has a favour to ask of ye... would you mind going out and
helping him find a wife for his son? Similar to the Publicity mission, we can
go around Spira, approaching the ladies and telling them about his son. Accept
the mission.

[Make sure to check later to find out the answers to the mission. -PP]

                   Mt. Gagazet                        (0.4% -> 21.8%)

1. Watch the entrance scene.
2. Reassure Garik that you will find Lian and Ayde.
3. Tell Kimahri that he will learn to deal with the Ronso children.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Mt Gagazet, home of the Ronso. They don't look too hospitable... except for
their leader, Kimahri, a welcome face. The mountain is more quiet... maybe
because summoners don't pass through here on their pilgrimages anymore.

Kimahri thinks the elder's job is difficult, and he is troubled. Maybe because
two of the tribe children, Lian and Ayde, have disappeared, gone off in search
of the elder's horn? (Damn Biran and Yenke...) Seems like this Garik doesn't
like Kimahri, saying that if he was a true elder, these things wouldn't
happen. (Yeouch.) As Garik walks away, he acknowledges Yuna, knowing that it
was she that saved Spira, but the Ronso are not saved yet. Reassure him, that
you will find Lian and Ayde (because you're going to, trust me. We're general
do-gooders as well as kick-ass sphere hunters) and he will hmmph at you and
walk away.

There are other people who need reassurance, in fact all the Ronsos do - so
talk to everyone around the area, and basically go along with them, agree with
them, suck up to them. Not required, but nice. Then talk to Kimahri again, and
he will tell you how the Ronso children grow horns of hatred for the Guado.
Importantly - tell him that he has to learn to deal with these things. He will
apologize for whining, and Yuna will cheer him up a little. Once you've told
him that, you can move on - to the final Hotspot, Zanarkand. [Finally! -PP]

1. Watch the entrance scene.
2. Talk with Isaaru, on the hill.
3. Enter the temple and proceed to the Chamber of the Fayth.
4. Talk to Cid and pick a bone with him.
5. Uncover Isaaru's game in the Beyond.
6. Make your way through the Treasure Chamber.
7. Defeat the Guardian Beast and claim the broken sphere.

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Yuna is all ready to reminisce about how the seven of them sat there that
night, at the end of her pilgrimage. She wanted to keep that special feeling,
that place, to herself for ever. But just look at it now - a tourist
attraction.

[I still had everyone on Vanguard. Yuna was Warrior learning sword abilities,
Rikku was Black Mage learning Blizzaga, and Paine was White Mage learning
Curaga. I noticed this was a good party.. but it's up to you. -PP]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission Time - Claim the Treasure Sphere!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Treasure sphere waves have been traced to the Zanarkand
Ruins, once holy ground. Don't be the last sphere hunters
          to claim the prize!

     Objective:
          Acquire the treasure sphere.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So let's get right into it, into the Ruins! Oh wait... there's this annoying
woman that won't let us through until we gaze at the view from the hill. Oh,
alright... Follow the route they've set out, to the top of the hill, to be
reunited with an old friend of sorts. This is the guy that Maroda wouldn't
tell us about.... hello, Isaaru. Yes we remember you. [Who? :P -PP]

He's here in Zanarkand because he's been helping Cid with his work. He's
nothing more than a glorified tour guide now, showing people and sphere
hunters from all over Spira through the sacred site. All of this tourism, it's
all Cid's work! Rikku is disgusted with her father, and Yuna is getting more
upset by the second. She understands that the area is of great historical
importance, she just never wanted anyone else to stand there.... that was
Tidus' spot, on the hill, overlooking the ruins. See: Final Fantasy X opening
scene. [I knew it seemed familiar.. -PP]

Once Isaaru has walked away, follow the path in towards the former temple. As
we approach, we see two goons behind us.... Before you enter the temple, you
see a bunch of little kids talking about the code, they need the code before
they get the sphere... and the code is 'key'! Think you can remember that?
Anyways, the lady on the right with her fabulousness, offers us some items for
purchase.
