Will update it if theres anything new. The site that can use this FAQ is listed below: Gamefaqs.com Ign.com Kongming.net -------------- - Background - -------------- Name: Huang Zhong Style Name: Hansheng Huang Zhong, characters Han Sheng, was a native of Nanyang. He was appointed by the Governor of Jingzhou, Liu Biao, as Zhonglang Jiang, and guarded Changsha Province with Liu Biao’s nephew, Liu Pan. When Cao Cao attacked Jingzhou, he feigned allegiance and had the rank of Shan Jiangjun (assistant general) and maintained his official duties, this time under the command of the governor of Changsha, Han Xuan. When Liu Bei united the various southern provinces, Huang Zhong joined his ranks and subsequently participated in the conquest of Shu. Ever since his appointment at Jiameng and the attack on Liu Zhang, Huang Zhong was always the first to charge into the enemy’s ranks and his valour was well-known in the three armies. After Yizhou was pacified, Huang Zhong was appointed as Taolu Jiangjun (General Who Exterminates the Caitiffs). Huang Zhong confronted Xiahou Yuan’s troops at Dingjun Mountains. Xiahou Yuan’s troops were elite and well-trained, thus Huang Zhong analysed that such a battle-ready troops would be easily provoked, thus ordered his own troops to lure the enemy into the valley. In the midst of the loud war drums and cheering, Huang Zhong’s army killed Xiahou Yuan in the first encounter and Xiahou Yuan’s army was utterly defeated. As a result of this victory, Huang Zhong was appointed ZhenXi Jiangjun (General Who Conquers the West). When Liu Bei became the Prince of Hanzhong, Huang Zhong was appointed as Hou Jiangjun (General of the Rear). Zhuge Liang spoke to Liu Bei that, Huang Zhong’s fame used to be way too far to be equal to that of Guan Yu or Ma Chao, but ever since this battle, he can be said to be of equal status as them. Ma Chao and Zhang Fei were nearby to witness the battle exploit, hence they could be convinced. However, Guan Yu is currently not with us here and should he hear of this, he would not be too happy. Liu Bei replied, I will do the explaining personally. Thus, Huang Zhong was ranked equal with Guan Yu and the rest (Zhang Fei and Ma Chao) and given the noble title of Marquis of GuanNei. In the coming year, Huang Zhong passed away and he was given a posthumous title of Marquis of Gang. Huang Zhong had a son named Xu but the latter passed away young, thus Huang Zhong did not have a descendant. Chen Shou’s final thoughts on the Five Tiger Generals: Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, etc were known to be powerful generals who could fight ten thousand men and accredited to be among the best of their times. Guan Yu repaid Lord Cao’s favour, Zhang Fei’s releasing of Yan Yan out of righteousness were deeds held in high esteem in the country. However, Guan Yu was unyielding and overly self-respect, whereas Zhang Fei was hot-tempered and without kindness, their short-comings leading to their defeats. This is common logic indeed. Ma Chao betrayed the minority tribes and lacked courage; he was a disappointment for his people, what a pity! Having been able to rise from rags to riches, is this not better? Huang Zhong and Zhao Yun both strong and valiant were good subordinates of their lord, like the claws and teeth to a beast. Can they not compare to the likes of Guan Yin and Xiahou Yin? *Credited to Kongming.net for Huang Zhong's SGZ* ------------- - Unlocking - ------------- Huang Zhong can be unlock by Defeating Shu's musou mode act IV in DW4. In DW4 XL however he is already unlocked. --------- - Moves - --------- T: Huang Zhong gets five arrows lined up and shoots all of them at once. This move is good, it dosen't take up any of your arrows which you have. So if you have zero arrows you can still you it. Equip the "Fire Arrows" for the full power. ST: Huang Zhong knocks his oppent into the air Its ok. You can combo but it isn't a great move. You shouldn't play with it to much. SST: Huang Zhong shoots one arrow at a time in a straight line. This is a good move, its something new to use if you haven't play as him yet. It is a one on one move really. If you use it in a crowd you will most likely get hit. The fire arrow will give you the fire effect. SSST: Huang Zhong swings his sword to his side. This is a so so move. Not a great crowd clearing move. Use a lighting orb for the most range. SSSST(T): Huang Zhong knocks his oppent into the air and jumps up after them. A so-so move. You might miss them when you knock them into the air and try to hit them again. Huang Zhong dose it pretty fast so there is a higher chance then most other officers have at hitting them. Lighting is the best move for this move since you hit the enemy two times with lighting. SSSSST: Huang Zhong cuts into the air creating two wind waves. This is a nice move, for crowds and such. I like using it and it isn't to hard to use. Its range is so-so it isn't like everyone elses wave attack. Running Attack: Huang Zhong dose a huge trust Nice. It will leave the enemy dizzy. Jumping Attack: Huang Zhong swings his spear to the left of him. Good for knocking off officers on horses. If you are fighting a friend in Verus mode then you should use this in the beginning of the fight. Its a nice cheap trick. Air Charge: Huang Zhong jumps high in the air and comes crashing down breaking even stone. A good move for archers but not when there are crowds under you. Musou: Huang Zhong swings in a sideways 360 circle many times and at the ends pauses for a second. Not bad the only really bad thing is the stop at the end. You can be hit but it isn't likely since you just used your musou. True Musou: *Note: This can only be done when your Life is red* Huang Zhong swings in a sideways 360 circle many times and at the ends pauses for a second. Not bad the only really bad thing is the stop at the end. You can be hit but it isn't likely since you just used your musou. He adds a few strikes at the end. Horse Attack: Huang Zhong swings his spear to the left and right. Pretty much the same as everyone else's horse attack. Its not all that useful. You should fight on horse back to much. Horse Charge: Huang Zhong swings his spear to the left and right with all his might. Do to knock down officers on the ground. I use this more then the Horse Attack since it has more power. Let you have to have good timing if you are riding ahead and going to use it on a up coming enemy. Horse Musou: Huang Zhong swings his spear to the left and right at a much faster speed. Good when you need to make a path when you are on a horse. You shouldn't waste your musou for this. Only when you need to ride out of a jam. When the musou ends you come to a stop. --------------------- - 10th level weapon - --------------------- From DW4: Huang Zhong Han Sheng Attack = +54 Stage = Battle of Jian Ye Method = Before defeating the real Sun Jian, defeat Huang Gai or Taishi Ci or Zhou Tai, next generation Suns attack event, defeat Sun Ce Sun Quan and Sun Shang Xiang in any order -> Huang Zhong earns Lv10 weapon message. here's a step by step: 1) defeat Huang Gai 2) Defeat Sun Ce, Sun Quan, SSX in any order (do not defeat Sun Jian) 3) Weapon Message 4) Defeat Sun Jian 5) Defeat Sun Ce 6) Defeat Suan Quan 7) Defeat Sun Shang Xiang Note: play two player for this, your friend or whoever protect Liu Bei, while you set out to defeat the Sun's Family. Jian Ye is a difficult stage, make sure Huang Zhong is maxed out. From DW4 XL: Huang Zhong Han Sheng Weapon : Oracle Sword Attack : +54 Method : Achieve 100 KO Count in under 6:35 minutes. Learned Oracle Sword message. Muni Comment : It is not necessary to shoot Guan Yu off his horse at the beginning of the battle. --------------------- - 11th level weapon - --------------------- From TLW's FAQ: === Huang Zhong === Name: Venerable Master Map: Xu Chang, but renamed to Chang sha Restrictions: No items 1. Shoot Guan Yu off his horse before he begins taunting you in order to lower your morale. 2. When Wei Yan kills Han Xuan, ignore Zhou Cang and run straight to Guan Yu. They will talk. Decrease his HP until Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei appear. 2. Defeat Zhou Cang and Guan Ping. Zhang Fei will appear after you defeat one of them, and Zhao Yun will appear after you defeat the other one. 3. Defeat Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei. 4. Get 100 KOs. 5. Defeat Guan Yu. 6. Level 11 message. Note: If you have problems dealing all the officers, try luring them into the castle and team up with Wei Yan to fight them. Weapon Stats: lv 8 peacock urn, lv 20 Huang's bow (duh), lv 20 nanman armour, lv 16 herbal remedy From Muni's FAQ: Huang Zhong Han Sheng Added Items : Peacock Urn (HP) Lv8 Huang Zhong's Bow (Arrow Attack) Lv20 Nanman Armor (Arrow Defense) Lv20 Herbal Remedy (Charge Attack) Lv16 Method 1 : Shoot Guan Yu off his horse before he challenges at the castle wall (approximately 30 seconds into stage). Defeat Zhou Cang. Defeat Guan Ping. Defeat Zhao Yun. Defeat Zhang Fei. Achieve 100 KO Count. Learned Lv11 weapon message. Method 2 : Shoot Guan Yu off his horse before he challenges at the castle wall (approximately 30 seconds into stage). Defeat 3 of Zhou Cang, Guan Ping, Zhao Yun, and Zhang Fei. Achieve 200 KO Count. Learned Lv11 weapon message. Muni Comment : Right after the stage starts, go to Huang Zhong's front right castle edge where the rocks are missing for a better view of the area outside the castle. Press the R2 button to switch the screen top right map into a zoomed in map, so you can see Guan Yu faster when he appears. After defeating an enemy general, take his horse to run around faster. After defeating Zhou Cang and Guan Ping, there should be a Precious Item Report, the Cleansed Flame Fire Arrow. Other than having to shoot Guan Yu off his horse from such a long distance with such a short time limit, this weapon was pretty easy to unlock. ------------ - Costumes - ------------ First Costume - Rank Level Needed: N/A Heh, The one you have on before you unlock any other costumes is his first costume. Vorpal - The only charges that i think that works well with this orb is Huang Zhong's C4 along with his C5. Lightning - same as what above. Ice - Same as what i written about Vorpal. Fire - Its alright, along with fire arrows its pretty good. Poison - I dont use at all. These are just some of my ideas, dont have to agree. -------------------------- - Recommended Equipments - -------------------------- Saddles: Red Hare - only because its really fast and Huang Zhong is slow. Recommended. Shadow Runner - this is like a hit and run kind of saddle, you reach your opponents, you kill him or her, you get back on (without getting knock off), and you move to another opponent. One of my favorites saddle to use. Recommended. Hex Mark - dont use. slow. Storm harness - dont use, but faster than shadow runner, also raises charge power when your on a saddle, but when your in a siege you and you try to get on the saddle, you probably will get knock off. I prefer Shadow Saddle over this. Elephant Harness - Slow but strong. You cant really get knock off when you get on this since the elephant is so tall. I dont use, too slow. Orbs: Read the 'Orbs and You' section Items: He only get four slots so equip with items that he need. Peacock Urn - the longer your healt bar the longer you'll survive. EQUIP THIS ALL THE TIME!!! Tiger Amulet - another great item. Raises your attack power, and the higher level you tiger amulet is, the more damage the enemies will recieved. EQUIP AT ALL TIMES!! Turtoise Amulet - Another great item. Raises your defense power. The higher the level of you Turtoise amulet the less damage you'll recieve from your enemies. EQUIP AL ALL TIMES!!! Wind Scroll/Fire arrows/Master of Musou/Way of the Musou/ - These are all great items that you might want to consider equipping, though you cant equip them all, make sure you choose wisely. Those are just some of the items that i equip for Huang Zhong. you might equip him with other stuff and thats fine. know that these are just some of my ideas. ------------------------------ - Huang Zhong's Legend Stage - ------------------------------ Huang Zhong's Legend stage....some stuff you should know before playing his stage. First of all, you cannot equip any items, second make sure he is maxed out cause you'll be fighting Guan Yu the God of War, his brother Zhang Fei, and his companion Zhao Yun along with his son, Guan Ping, and his friend, Zhou Cang. Knowing that lets get started. First off head up to the ledge and switch your map to zoom on (do this by clicking R2). Note: might wanna save cause you have to hit him off before 30 seconds pass. Now switch to your bow view, and once Guan Yu is in sight the bow will automatically aim on him, at once shoot Guan Yu off of his horse. If you werent able to shoot him off, reload and try again, this took me a few tries. Once that is done head to the gate where Guan Ping is at and take him out, not very hard. Once that is done head to where Guan Yu is at and Zhao Yun will appeared as reinforcements, this might be hard cause his C1 is powerful and annoying and theres a whole bunch of peons around you. You might want to lead him inside the castle or just fight him outside. After defeating Zhao Yun, defeat Zhou Cang (he should be in the castle), once Zhou Cang is defeated, Zhang Fei will appear as reinforcements. Lure Zhang Fei into the castle or any place else and there take him out. Once that is done (Save), After defeating Zhang Fei, Save, now you should have at least 100 or more k.o.s, if less then keep killing peons till you reach 100 kos and you should get the weapon message, if not then keep killing peons. Once you get the weapon message, Save, just to make sure in case you die. again lure Guan yu into the castle where you and you ally can team up on him. Once Guan Yu is taken care of, the stage will end and the weapon will be yours. ----------------- - Miscellaneous - ----------------- 1. Start a game on Expert difficulty. 2. Save mid-game. 3. Change the game difficulty to Novice. 4. Do not re-start the saved mid-game. 5. Start a new game. 6. Soft reset in-game (Select+Start). 7. Re-start the saved mid-game. This is a convenient trick for unlocking Lv11 weapons. if the enemies is too agressive then use the diffulty cheat above, it will decrease the enemies A.I. ---------- - Thanks - ---------- Here are the people who i would like to give thanks to, they are listed below: Thanks to CjayC for making this awesome site and posting my FAQ up of course.
