2. Introduction

This is a Character Mission Completion Guide for Koei's action game
Sengoku Musou (Samurai Warriors). This mission completion guide
features only information on completing Saika Magoichi's and Okuni's
missions. The aim of this guide is to provide a detailed directional
guide to help achieve all the missions in Saika Magoichi's musou mode.

You can check your mission completion percentage by going to the
treasure chest third option from the top in the main menu. After which
you'll see five options and choose the second option from the right.
Characters that had not been unlocked will not be in the list so make
sure you've unlocked Saika Magoichi before checking how many missions
you've completed.

There are three types of missions, one in blue fonts, one in white
fonts and the last in ????. The ones marked in blue are missions that
had been completed and a seal will appeared stating it is completed.
The ones marked in white are missions that you encountered but failed
to complete. The missions marked with questions marks are missions that
you've yet to encounter.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Who are they?

Who is Saika Magoichi?

Saika Magoichi is a playable character in Sengoku Musou that can be
unlocked by defeating the musou mode for any two characters. He can be
easily identified by his rifle and the belt of ammunition across his
chest. He wears dark green and brownish coat and slacks which looked
like european military uniform. His second costume shows him topless,
with a belt of ammunition across his bare chest and brownish slacks
with a tatto on his left arm near the shoulder.

Who is Okuni?

Okuni is a playable character in Sengoku Musou that can be unlocked by
completing the musou mode for Maeda Keiji. She can be easily identified
by her umbrella and red hairband with her hair tied in plaits. She wears
a white top with a long red skirt for Japanese mikos (priestess). Her
second costume depicts her in a white top and skirt which made her
resemble a race queen. She still carries an umbrella and wears a red
hairband.

4. How to use this guide?

Alright, I know someone, someday, will find this mission guide too
comprehensive and full of details they can't understand. In order to
make it easier for everyone, I'll give you guys some tips on finding
what you want.

When you open up this guide, press CTRL-F to do a search. From the
table of contents at the top of the guide, copy and paste the topic
you're interested to read in the search window and find. Note: It's
easier to search by topics than stages.

Thus, it'll be easier to search by pasting:

for e.g. Strange Character's Mission Guide by Stages

In that way, you'll be taken to Strange Character's Mission Guide by
Stages part. And from there, do another search by stage by copying from
the stage listing in there. You guys should be glad that I did the
indexing for the guide so that searching is made easier.

Important Notes:
Unlike most characters, Okuni's missions from stage two onwards

appears without anyone noticing and disappears without a trace.
A literal translation means 'God appears, Ghost disappears'.

    decrease your HP.

  - Honganji's Camp is the square castle on the left side of the map
where Honganji is found and it's noted in Japanese as Breakthrough
    Point.
  - In order to ensure Mission 2B and 2C's completion, defeat the
generals by following this sequence, Shibata Katsuie, Takigawa
    Kazumasu, Niwa Nagahide.

..................................................

Mission 2B - Sniping Nobunaga, First Shot

Mission Objective:
  - Snipe Nobunaga ~Sounds pretty simple, but it ain't~

How is the mission activated?
  - Automatically after Mission 2A is activated.

How to accomplish it?
Go around to the top in the cavern area (green) and snipe Oda from the
top of the map. To snipe Oda Nobunaga, press R1 to sniping mode and
press square or triangle to shoot. Personnal preference is to use
square since triangle takes longer time.

Things to note:
  - Don't snipe Oda Nobunaga from any other places other than the top.
Although the shot is registered as hit. It will be considered
mission failed as Nobunaga was able to detect your presence.
  - In order to achieve other missions and this without replaying the
stage, it is better to follow the sequence of completion for the
    missions as instructed.

..................................................

Mission 2C - Vigorous Assault

Mission Objective:
  - Defeat Oda Army Second Assault Wave

How is the mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the completion of Mission 2A.

How to accomplish it?
Simply defeat the three enemy generals Sassa Norimasa (top), Maeda
Toshiie (middle), Sakuma Nobumori (bottom) before they enter Honganji's
camp.

Things to note:
  - Like Mission 2A, Honganji's camp is still the same spot.
  - Defeat Sakuma Nobumori first if you've followed the guide closely.
  - Defeat Maeda Toshiie or you may try to loop to the top and complete
Mission 2B first if you think you used too much time since if
Nobunaga moves again, you'll fail Mission 2B. Still I will recommend
defeating Maeda Toshiie first before completing Mission 2B.
  - Complete Mission 2B after defeating the second general, totally
ignoring the presence of Sassa Norimasa you lured at the top since
Nobunaga will most likely move once you complete Mission 2C.
Remember, do not walk near Oda Nobunaga and lure him as it will
    also trigger Mission 2B's failure.
  - After completing Mission 2B, defeat Sassa Norimasa at the top and
    complete Mission 2C.

..................................................

Mission 2D - Name of Ambush Army

Mission Objective:
  - Defeat Toyotomi Hideyoshi and prevent invasion

How is the mission activated?
  - This mission is activated either after Mission 2C is completed or
    Mission 2C has failed.

Simply defeat Toyotomi Hideyoshi before he enters Honganji's camp.

Things to note:
  - Toyotomi Hideyoshi will appear at the bottom after completing or
    failing Mission 2C.

..................................................

Mission 2E - "Stop resisting," Akechi Mitsuhide says

Mission Objective:
  - Defeat Akechi Mitsuhide and prevent invasion

How is the mission activated?
  - This mission is activated some time after completion of
Mission 2C and activation of Mission 2D.

How to accomplish it?
Simply defeat Akechi Mitsuhide before he enters Honganji's camp.

Things to note:
  - Continue to your right after Mission 2D and wait for Akechi
Mitsuhide to persuade Honganji and announce declaration of attack.

..................................................

Mission 2F - Reason to Fight

Mission Objective:
  - Defeat Maeda Keiji and prevent invasion

How is the mission activated?
  - This mission is activated some time after completion of
Mission 2C, activation of Mission 2D and Mission 2E.

How to accomplish it?
Simply defeat Maeda Keiji before he enter Honganji's camp.

Things to note:
  - If you defeat Akechi Mitsuhide fast enough, you may be fast enough
to intercept Maeda Keiji in the middle of the map and most likely
to find Oda Nobunaga there also.

..................................................

Stage 3 - Defense of Echizen

Missions:
3A. Rescuer of Lord, Agent of Destruction
  3B. Sniping Mitsuhide
  3C. Escape
  3D. Hunter, Trophy
  3E. Moving in Shadows
  3F. Sniping Nobunaga, Second Shot
  3G. Escape through escape point
  3H. Ability

..................................................

Mission 3A - Rescuer of Lord, Agent of Destruction

Mission Objective:
  - Defeat Shibata Katsuie and Sakuma Nobumori

How is the mission activated?
  - Automatically activated at the beginning of the stage.

How to accomplish it?
Simply head left and defeat Shibata Katsuie and Sakuma Nobumori.

..................................................

Mission 3B - Sniping Mitsuhide

Mission Objective:
  - Snipe Akechi Mitsuhide from the hidden location

How is mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the completion of Mission 3A.

How to accomplish it?
You must take a long detour to Akechi Mitsuhide's camp and around it on
the land while avoiding detection by Akechi Mitsuhide's army. Take the
longest route to the middle right across the bridge not the cross
bridge. Then go down when you reach the rightmost path down to the
bottom right corner. Then move left after reaching the corner to reach
the spot where X is and snipe Akechi Mitsuhide.

Things to note:
  - Mission 3H requires you to fail this mission.
  - Once you're detected by Akechi Mitsuhide's army, you'll fail this
    mission.
  - Defeat the remaining key generals, excluding Akechi Mitsuhide,
Maeda Keiji and Mori Ranmaru. Then capture all the gates at the
top since if all the Houshi are defeated, you'll lose the stage.
Thus, since you have the time to do so before sniping Akechi
Mitsuhide, do so and ensure the survival of the Houshi-tachi.

..................................................

Mission 3C - Escape

Mission Objective:
  - Help the ???? retreat ~Please provide the romanized name, thanks~

How is the mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the completion of Mission 2B or
    after some time.

How to accomplish it?
Basically, if you had followed my instructions previously, only one
group will be engaging the enemy and take longer to escape.

Things to note:
  - As long as a Houshi escapes, you'll not lose the stage if the
    remaining got defeated.
  - Therefore if the priority is to complete Mission 3D, you can
ignore them and run to the top left corner to avoid detection by
    Hattori Hanzou.
  - ???? is the name of the monk group. ~Is is Ikkoushu?~

..................................................

Mission 3D - Hunter, Trophy

Mission Objective:
  - Avoid detection from Hattori Hanzou

How is the mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the completion of Mission 2B and
Akechi Mitsuhide sends Hattori Hanzou after Saika Magoichi.

How to accomplish it?
Simply avoid detection by retracing the same route that you took to
Akechi Mitsuhide's camp, and flee further to the top left corner. If
Hanzou has not detected you yet but is still chasing after you, move
down to the bottom left corner.

Things to note:
  - Mission 3E requires you to fail this mission.
  - Hattori Hanzou must return to camp after he failed to detect you to
    complete this mission.

..................................................

Mission 3E - Moving in Shadows

Mission Objective:
  - Defeat Hanzou before he returns to camp

How is the mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the failure of Mission 3D and a
movie scene where Magoichi engages Hanzou.

How to accomplish it.
Simply defeat Hattori Hanzou before he returns to Akechi Mitsuhide's
camp.

Things to note:
  - Failing to defeat Hattori Hanzou before he returns to Akechi
Mitsuhide's camp will result in a failure in this mission.

..................................................

Mission 3F - Sniping Nobunaga, Second Shot

Mission Objective:
  - Snipe Oda Nobunaga

How is this mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the completion of Mission 3B and
    Mission 3D.

How to accomplish it?
If you had followed Mission 3D directions, you would have taken notice
that you should be camping at the bottom left corner and wait for
Hanzou to return to camp. When Oda Nobunaga appears, you're already in
position to snipe him. All you need to do is to move forward behind
the bushes where X is and snipe Oda Nobunaga.

..................................................

Mission 3G - Escape through Escape Point

Mission Objective:
  - Advance quickly towards the escape point

How is this mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the completion or failure of
    Mission 3F.

How to accomplish it?
Simply head straight for the escape point and avoid any necessary
fight without letting Oda Nobunaga get near to you.

Things to note:
  - If Oda Nobunaga gets near to you the mission fails.

..................................................

Mission 3H - Ability

Mission Objective:
  - Defeat the entire Oda Army

How is this mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the failure of Mission 3B.

How to accomplish it?
Simply defeat every single general in the Oda Army.

Things to note:
  - Do not allow all the Houshi to be killed in the process.

..................................................

Stage 4 - Resistance at the Capital

Missions:
  4A. Early Skirmishes
  4B. Fool's Realization
  4C. Sniping Nobunaga, Third Shot
4D. Finale of the Ending Theme
4E. Goodbye, the Days of Fighting

..................................................

Mission 4A - Early Skirmishes

Mission Objective:
  - Capture all southern entry points

How is this mission activated?
  - Automatically activated at the beginning of the stage.

How to accomplish it?
Simply capture the three southern entry gates.

Things to note:
  - Since you're in the process of achieving this, you should defeat
Akechi Mitsuhide and any other generals in the vicinity before
capturing the last gate. This is due to the fact that Saikashu
(Saika Company) is located near the south when you're completing
the other missions and they will survive if they meet with little
    resistance.
  - Since you'll want to complete Mission 4B, it is recommended to
capture the rightmost gate last as you'll be on your way up on
    Mission 4B.

..................................................

Mission 4B - Fool's Realization

Mission Objective:
  - Stop Oda Army from activating the fire attack

How is this mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the completion of Mission 4A.

How to accomplish it?
Simply prevent the fire attack team marked by a bright blue spot from
reaching the spot where X is.

Things to note:
  - X is located at the top of the map.
  - Like I mentioned before, the enemy generals on the way up will not
be kind to spare your Saikashu from death when you're completing
other missions and is too far to defend them. Therefore killing as
many generals on your way to prevent the fire attack and capturing
as many gates as possible is recommended.

..................................................

Mission 4C - Sniping Nobunaga, Third Shot

Mission Objective:
  - Snipe Oda Nobunaga from the hidden location

How is this mission activated?
  - This mission will definitely activate after a certain time passed
during the game, irregardless of the completion of Mission 4A and
    Mission 4C.

How to accomplish it?
Simply go to the spot where X is, taking whichever route you prefer.
Jump up to the balcony, which is between the bushes and the building
near the X spot and snipe Oda Nobunaga from there with a clear shot.

Things to note:
  - Mission 4E requires you to fail this mission.
  - And to activate Mission 4E, run along the left corridors outside
the castle and approach Nobunaga before Honganji meets him.
  - If you had not followed my advice to clear the generals and
captured the gates on the right where Saikashu is, this is one last
    chance to do so.

..................................................

Mission 4D - Finale of the Ending Theme

Mission Objective:
  - Defeat Oda Nobunaga

How is this mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the completion of Mission 4C.

How to accomplish it?
Simply defeat Oda Nobunaga before Saikashu is defeated or time runs out.

..................................................

Mission 4E - Goodbye, the Days of Fighting

  - Defeat Oda Nobunaga

How is this mission activated?
  - This mission is activated after the failure of Mission 4C through

..................................................

Mission 5A - Sniping Nobunaga, Last Shot

Mission Objective:
  - Snipe Oda Nobunaga

How is this mission activated?
  - This mission is activated when you spot Oda Nobunaga.

How to accomplish it?
Simply snipe him with sniping mode when you see him from far.

Things to note:
  - Oda Nobunaga will escape through a trapdoor if you go close enough
or if you snipe him and you cannot chase him.
    ~He cheats that's why~

  2D. Attacking the Invader

* Note:
  - In order to get to Stage 3, Dance of Ise Nagashima, follow the
    advised route of advancement.
  - If you meet Nouhime before Oichi and lost only one entry point
while defeating all generals including Oda Nobunaga, the game will
hang. I think this was due to activating two event counters.

..................................................

Mission 2A - Goddess of Victory

Mission Objective:
  - Protect the entry points from enemy's assaults

How is the mission activated?
  - Automatically activated at the beginning of the stage.

How to accomplish it?
Simply complete the stage without losing more than two entry points on
the upper river bank.

Things to note:
  - Saika Magoichi must not be defeated.
  - Losing three entry points will result in the failure of the stage.
  - Lost entry points cannot be recaptured.
  - I did not lose any entry points so I am not completely sure of the
exact number of entry points that must be protected as I protected
    all seven.
  - When you move close to the enemy generals near the entry points, it
will trigger a message that they are launching their attacks. So
defeat them before you trigger another enemy general's assault. And
you can choose to help Saika Magoichi and Ishikawa Goemon against
enemy generals before triggering the remaining generals.
  - Every time the enemy captures an entry point in the upper bank of

    if you meet Nouhime.

How to accomplish it?
Simply defeat Nouhime.

Things to note:
  - Saika Magoichi must not be defeated.
  - Losing three entry points will result in the failure of the stage.
  - To meet Nouhime and activate this mission you need to defeat the
entry gate captain at the left gate on the lower river bank. Another
option is to defeat all generals and Oichi so that the left gate on
the lower river bank will automatically open. Nouhime will advance
up in this second method and the mission will be activated without
    the meeting.
  - Meeting Nouhime before Oichi and defeating the stage with all entry
points defended will end the game with Magoichi's movie ending.
  - Meeting Nouhime before Oichi and defeating all generals excluding
Nouhime with only one entry point lost will hang the game.
  - Meeting Nouhime before Oichi and defeating all generals excluding
Nouhime with two entry points lost will end the game with Nouhime's
    movie ending.

  - Saika Magoichi must not be defeated.
  - Losing three entry points will result in the failure of the stage.
  - To meet Oda Nobunaga and activate this mission you can defeat
Nouhime without defeating Oichi and advance right to meet Oda
Nobunaga. Or you can defeat Oichi and the entry gate captain to Oda
Main Camp and advance down to meet Oda Nobunaga. The last option is
to defeat Oichi then Nouhime and the mission will be activated
    without the meeting.
  - Defeating Nouhime after meeting Nobunaga with one or two entry
points lost will end the game with Nobunaga's movie ending.

..................................................

The Advised Route of Advancement:

  - Defeat the right most enemy general (Maeda Toshiie).

  - Proceed to defeat the bottom most enemy general (Sakuma Nobumori).
Ishikawa Goemon will advance up after Sakuma Nobumori is defeated.

  - Proceed upwards and defeat the enemy general (Niwa Nagahide) in the
center. Ishikawa Goemon will advance down and Saika Magoichi will
    advance left.

  - Proceed to defeat the top left enemy general. Saika Magoichi will
advance up when you trigger the assault, but will move down once you
defeat the enemy. ~Please provide romanized name of general, thanks~

  - Defeat the last enemy general (Takigawa Kazumasu) in the bottom
left. The center gate on the lower river bank will open and Oichi
    will head up.

  - Head right and defeat Oichi, the left gate on the lower river bank
will open and Nouhime will head up.

  - Head left and defeat Nouhime, the gates to Oda Main Camp will open
and Oda Nobunaga and Saika Magoichi will head for each other.

  - Head right again and defeat Oda Nobunaga.

  - If you followed this procedure, you will not trigger any additional
movie endings and will open up stage 3 as you did not meet Nouhime
before Oichi, or meet Nobunaga before defeating Nouhime and will not
be likely to lose more than one entry point. In fact, if you have
done as told, you would have defended all entry points.

through exhaustion, his morale will drop. Once his morale drop to
rock bottom, he'll be easily defeated and you lose when he's
    defeated.
  - Everytime you get too far from Goemon, Okuni will say, 'Konnai na
doko de hakureteshi mo dakanan wao'. And she will say, 'Hona,
Goemon-sama ni Tsuite imasu' when Goemon is within sight again. It
will act as a warning for you to know if you have either move too
far or is too far behind. Remember to get close to Goemon so that
she will warn again when you're splitted again. She will not warn
again if she did not get close enough to Goemon to say 'Hona,
    Goemon-sama ni Tsuite imasu'.
  - If you complete Mission 3C, Mission 3E and Mission 3G, this mission

8. Author's Last Words

Basically, I guessed GameFAQs did post the guide but I failed to
classify it correctly and thus, the individual character's FAQ become
FAQ for every character. Oh well, so I decide that every update I do,
I'll add additional characters to the guide.

If you find any of the missions too hard to accomplish, you may try to
work on it in easy mode. Well, I complete most musou modes in easy
difficulty before I initialized my characters and replayed the game in
hard difficulty.

Sorry for omitting the names, I had to do research before confirming the
names are correct for each general. Basically, I researched myself and
included the NPC generals' names for the game. Thanks for those who
tried to contribute to help. Well, if you contributed before I did the
research, I would gladly include your names to recognise your
contributions. All Oda Generals had been named except one, so I'll still
require assistance for that.

9. Credits

I'll like to express my thanks to The Left Wings for showing me the
Chinese website that helped me compiled this mission guide. I did try
out them before completing this guide and post as much details as
possible that could activate or help with the completion of the
missions. The website address where I took and tried to complete my
mission is as follows:

http://forum1.gamer.com.tw/G2.php?bsn=06121&parent=125&sn=286&eorder=37

Thanks to Koei and Omega Force for creating this wonderful game that
made me spend days and nights without sleeping and working in
exhaustion. My supervisors are gonna hang me if I yawn at work again.
Oh well... -_-"
