III. Biography
================
Koei's Interpretation:
Served under Dosan Saito and Yoshikage Asakura. While Yoshiaki Ashikaga was
under the care of Nobunaga Oda, Mitsuhide Akechi made all preparations for the
journey to the capital. Later, he became a vassal for Nobunaga Oda at which time
he was awarded control of Omi Shiga territory and became the lord of Sakamoto
Castle. His military talents brought him much recognition.He became the governor
of Hyuga and began a war against Tanba. Upon defeating Tanba, he became the
lord of Kameyama Castle. Immediately afterward, he followed Nobunaga Oda in his
attack on Koshu, and then returned to Azuchi Castle to oversee the preparations
for a visit from Ieyasu Tokugawa. At the same time, he received the order to
lead an attack on Saigoku. He lead his troops out of Kameyama Castle and
attacked Honno-ji Temple, forcing the suicide of Nobunaga Oda.
Found in Koei's forums(written by: DynastyIain) :
Oda retainer and destroyer of Oda Nobunaga; Hyuga no Kami; also known as Koreta
Mitsuhide, Mitsuhide first served the Saitô of Mino and later a certain Asakura
Ujikage of Echizen. In 1566 Mitsuhide is supposed to have acted as a messenger
for the 'wandering shôgun' Yoshiaki, and thereafter served Nobunaga. Mitsuhide
proved himself a capable general and in 1571 was awarded Sakamoto-jo and two
districts in Ômi province. When Nobunaga went to war with the Môri clan,
Mitsuhide was assigned to lead the Oda contingent that would be marching along
the northern coast of the Chugoku arm. He invaded Tamba, where he subdued the
Hatano, and Tango, where he clashed with the Isshiki family.
In 1578 an unfortunate incident is said to have occurred involving the Hatano
clan of Tamba. Eager to bring them over without further delay, Mitsuhide managed
to convince Hatano Hideharu to submit. Unfortunately, Nobunaga later overturned
Mitsuhide's promise of safe treatment and had Hideharu executed in 1579. The
Hatano responded, as one might expect, by accusing Mitsuhide of treachery, and,
the story goes, somehow got ahold of his mother in Ô,mi and executed her in
dreadful manner. Mitsuhide, needless to say, bore Nobunaga some ill will. This
was enflamed by a series of public insults Nobunaga directed at Mitsuhide that
drew even the attention of Western observers. Nonetheless, Mitsuhide was
generally well regarded for his talents both on the battlefield and as an
administrator.
In 1582, Nobunaga ordered Mitsuhide to assemble his troops and march to the
west,where Hashiba (Toyotomi Hideyoshi) was embroiled in a struggle with the
Môri. Instead, Mitsuhide marched on Oda, who was occupying the Honno temple at
the time. Nobunaga and his heir Nobutada were killed, and Mitsuhide declared
himself the new shogun, however improbably. Mistuhuide may have intimated his
intentions just days before when he composed a poem for the renga masters Jôha
and Shosmegsu that, while ostensibly written to bring good luck to Hideyoshi's
seige of Takamatsu,contained a provactive line that could be interpreted to mean
that the Toki (whose name he used from time to time) would rule Japan. At any
rate, the sudden defection stunned the Capital region. Akechi worked as quickly
as he could, and looted Azuchi Castle so as to reward his men and made friendly
gestures towards a bewildered Imperial Court. The Akechi could claim descent
from the Toki, and in turn the Minamoto, but, unsurprisingly, this would bear
little fruit. Mitsuhide had counted on the support of Hosokawa Fujitaka, with
whom he was related to through marriage. This alliance did not pan out as
Fujitaka wisely cut his ties with the usurper. It is possible that Mitsuhide
also hoped for the support of the Tsutsui, whose relation with Nobunaga had been
none too good. Tsutsui Junkei, however, wavered,and in the end joined Toyotomi
Hideyoshi. Another grave setback came within days. Mitsuhide had counted on
Hideyoshi being tied up with the Môri and thus being unable to promptly respond
to Nobunaga's death. Unfortunately, Hideyoshi learned of the assassination
before the Môri, and signed a peace treaty with that clan. This allowed him to
force-march back east at a rapid pace, catching Mitsuhide off guard. Mitsuhide
and Hideyoshi clashed at Yamazaki, and though the former fought bravely, his
troops were defeated. Mitsuhide himself was killed while attempting to make
his way to Sakamoto, which was held by his brother, Hidemitsu (1560-1582).
Soon afterwards, Sakamoto was reduced by Hori Hidemasa (1553-1590).
While Akechi would become one of the most famous men in Japanese history, if
only for his treachery, the exact causes for his dramatic attack on Nobunaga,
and what he hoped to accomplish once this was done, will most likely remain
a mystery.

B. Getting Mitsuhide Akechi's 5th-level weapon
-----------------------------------------
Map: The Battle of Yamasaki (Mitsuhide's 4th map upper path)
Mode: Hard or Chaos
Method: Take Mt. Ten Oh, Assist your generals and clear Mt.
Ten Oh of enemies before opponents reinforcements arrive.
Notes: You must beat musou mode once.
More Notes: I got his weapon and i experimented more on how to get it.
Virtually, you CAN'T MISS it EVEN if you:
Play in two-player mode and your friend gets the kills.
(in fact, i suggest two-player mode. it is much easier.)
The ONLY WAY you can LOSE THE WEAPON it is if:
You run out of time.(5 minutes)
Go into the cave, prematurely...
How i got it: Simple, ran thru the missions one by one,I got
mt Ten Oh... then closed the upper gate of the enemy on the top of
the mountain, (just in front of the cave) and rushed down. To save
the general, when i came back, there were less enemies on the mountain
and i cleared them out. it was hard though... as you are pressed for
time... I suggest playing with two players, because it is so hard to
do on your own...
* Suggestions: Equip your items as an all offensive. Since you are
pressed for time. Equip Rough Element if you have it. Get a high 4th
level weapon, preferably one with lightning element. Equip the
FASTEST horse possible!!! it is needed for this map... I highly
reccoment the following items... Power Bracer, Rough Element,
vixen's tail.

Starting Ending
Attack 52 174

Horse Attack 60 174
Horse Defense 64 194
Range Attack 52 166
Range Defense 64 194
Speed 95 175
Jump 130 170
Evade 130 180
Overall, I'd say, Mitsuhide is a very stong character, with his weapon, he
becomes the second highest in both attack and defence stats.
--------
B.Skills
--------
Skills are something that are made to make the game slightly easier, some of
them are innate, some are activated, many of them are very useful to have.
Be sure to level them up
------
Might:
------
As Mitsuhide is, it would be best to use some certain skills to boost up his
strength. It would be best if you would max out his "REACH" and "RAGE" skills,
you will see a big difference in your gameplay. It would also be nice to have
"GUTS" and "RESIST".
Vigor---> Guts
Pressure---> Resist
Reach---> Rage---> Precision
Frenzy---> Vitality
--------
Prowess:
--------
If you look closely at Mitsuhide, next to Shingen, he has the highest overall
defense in the game, Prowess adds to support skills, which helps his defense.
I suggest upgrading the skills "DRIVE", and "POTENCE" but nothing can beat the
powers of "MASTERY" or the blocking ability of "PARRY".
Drive---> Acclaim---> Mastery
Cavelier---> Parry
Rally---> Pierce
Potence
------
Guard:
------
Guard skills are meant to protect you from certain death. Mainly, i would like
to thank Koei for adding the skills "FITNESS", "BLOCK" and "RESILIENCE" for
saving me in combat a couple of times.
Counter---> Celerity---> Block
Discern---> Grace
Fitness---> Resilience
Fortitude--->Focus
--------
Element:
--------
Elements are meant to strengthen your combos, but the only one I added to was
SSSS which really helped. As I don't like his other combos that much.
(note: in the element skill tree, you don't need to upgrade a skill to get
the next one. Example, you can get Element shot without getting Ward or
Kesa-giri.)
Kesa-giri---> Ward---> Element Shot
Blast---> Vanquish---> Torrent
Shock---> Onslaught---> Torrent
Domino
------------
Skill index:
------------

Reach: Attack range Increases.
Guts: No staggering after taking enemy ranged attacks.
Vitality: Life max increases easier.
Resist: No staggering after enemy attack (first hit only).
Frenzy: Attack may double when near death.
