Kensou's faq for the King of Fighters 2000

The objective of this faq is to show how to master kensou's moves and 
give some tips and strategies in the use of the character.

Command attacks( slowly fill your power stock gauge when they're 
blocked, not grabs!)

Sunda: When close, b / f + C

I'ts a typical grab attack, use it against those guarding guys that act 
waiting for your mistake, make a surprising jump holding the lever 
forward when you land: Sunda.

Tomoe Nage When close, b / f + D
--------------------------------

The same of the previous one, but kensou will throw the enemy back and 
far away, perfectly to do a special strike attack(while the other one is 
flying call your striker, but costs one stock).

Kobokushu f + A 
---------------

It's an overhead attack, that is, the move will hit the enemy if it is 
guarding down, excellent to use when you perfomed a jumping kick(has to 
be blocked down), when land use f + A(has to be blocked up). Or : 
perform a d + D( has to be blocked down), then f + A ( has to be blocked 
up).
 But notice that the overhead attack will lose its effect when combined 
with other move, inother to perform a combo.

Kousentai f + B
---------------

Hits in the upper part of the ground plan. Can be canceled into the 
kensou's Ryuu Sougeki, may hit when encouter a jumping opponent and a 
ground standing one. Its a little slow to come out . you can use it to 
perform a combo buy hit C on ground, then  f + C and finally qcb + P.

Special attacks ( fill your power stock gauge when they're blocked or 
not)

Sen Shippo qcb + P
------------------

Kensou quickly lifts his hands and goes with a fierce punch onto his 
enemy face. Nothing to explain, but if it's done with A will be fast and 
a have shorter range, and if it's done with C slower but with a long 
range. It's a very good move, rather use it with A, will help a lot when 
you need a quick attack.

Senkyuutai qcf + K
-------------------

To me, the greatest attack of all, 'cause it counter attacks almost any 
thing in the way and throws the opponent in the air allowing you to 
follow with any air or some ground attacks. This move is divided in two 
parts, in the counter part kensou put his body in front of the enemy 
inorder to cancel an attack that's hitting him when he is performig this 
part of the movement. In the other one he does a high kick throwing the 
enemy in the air, and then, you can do an attack while the opponent is 
flying. With B the first part is longer and with D the first one is 
shorter. For instance, if the enemy does an C + D attack, when it's 
supposed to hit you perform the Senkyuutai, kensou will block it 
throwing the enemy up. Notice that this move will hit even if the enemy 
didn't attack.

Ryuu Renga: Chiryuu hcf + A 
---------------------------

It's an three hitting attack that take almost 3/4 of the screen, hitting 
in the 1/4 part, 2/4 part and 3/4 part of the screen, making of this 
attack the most powerful move, besides that, its very first part can 
also counter attacks. See: if at the time your enemy evades back, he 
will get hit. If he jumps back he will get hit, and, of course is he 
stands like a monkey in front of you
Notice that all special moves can be done to complete the final part of 
the combo.

Ryuu Renga: Tenryuu hcf + C
---------------------------

This one is a variation of the previous one. And will hit up to the 
upper part of the screen, has also three parts, and its first part 
counter attacks too. Useful against jumping enemies. It won't hit if the 
enemy jumps right in front of you( 90 degree angle with your body), in 
this case prefer the Ryuu Gakusai.

Ryuu Renda f,d,df + P, tap P rapidly
------------------------------------

That's other one that i love. This attack it's a multi hit attack that 
can easily be repeated many times if its done with A, cause it's fast 
and recovers quickly, confusing the other guy. If the opponent is 
guarding, do it againg maybe hit, if not will drain his damage gauge, 
and fill your power gauge. tap P repeatly to a 6 hit move.

 Ryuu Gakusai b,d,db + K
------------------------

That's a multi hitting straight up upper. Again, if  you perform with B 
lower range, less damage taken  and quicker recover, with D longer range 
more damage, and take a longer time to recover from.

Ryuu Sougeki In air, qcb + P
----------------------------

Kensou's air special, he charges a bit and stop in air, then gets down 
hitting everything in the way can follow a f + B and a uf + B. If 
performed with A, will have an lower angle range, and done with C an 
higher range as always.

Chouryuu Renken qcf,qcf + P
---------------------------

Very good sdm, it reminds the Ryuu Renda attack, but has more hits. 
Nothing more to explain. The advantage is that if you've missed, kensou 
will stop after the second or third hit and quick recover.

Shinryuu Seiou Rekkyaku qcf,hcb + B 
-----------------------------------

This is an ground dm, but then he jumps with an upper attack. Its not 
very fast. So, use it wisely, or when peform a combo.

Shinryuu Tenbu Kyaku qcf,hcb + D 
--------------------------------

Another version of the previous dm but it's a ground-air attack. Perfect 
to get an jumping enemy, but isn't good to finish a combo.

SDM Shinryuu Tenbu Kyaku qcf,hcb + BD(costs 3 stocks or the MAX bar)

If hits, will do a great damage, kensou will get any one who's in the 
middle of the screen then, will perform two uppers, one low and the 
other high.

If you choose kensou by pressing A, the traditional clothes will be 
choosen                                     By pressing B a diferent 
color will be shown, and tapping C + D, an amazing mix of colors will 
confirm that you are  good and a fashion player.

Combos
======


This section shows how to perform combos with kensou.
First of all, combos are done by using the imagination as long as you 
know the way things work.
Here are some tips for begginers:

. Combos that are done with weak buttons are different from the others 
cause you have to wait a little more when you'll press the following 
button, it's just a matter of practice, when you master than you will 
see how useful they are

. You can end a combo with any special move but in some cases this move 
won't work like kensou's Senkyuutai, you will see it when you go play as 
well.

here they are ( if a button is standing alone it means you have to press 
it with the lever on its neutral position):

Non - linkful combos

Those following combos will hit depending on the act of the opponent. 
For instance if you did the combo right the final part has to be guard 
up but if it is guarded down will hit.

Strategies
==========

With the following strategies, i don't assure you will win but if 
they're performed well they can help your performance.

. Against vicious projectiles jump using D or if ou are next counter it 
using qcf + K. Don't jump if the projectile is too close and I recommend 
: don't try to evade A + B if it's too close. Because every special has 
its recovering time, when the opponent launches a projectile his 
objective is to attack when you try to escape, so try to guess what he 
will do. A good strategist is the one that know the exact time of using 
it.

. Against low jumpers guys you can both jump together + B or b,db,b + B 
cause it's quicker.

. Against that opponents like Ralf, Clark or same, that have their grabs 
like main power it's universal, don't guard too much, don't try to evade 
A + B near them and attack them on their mistakes kensou's qcf + A is 
quite useful cause you can quickly go back avoiding the attack.

. Don't use the same move many times in a row, two is the limit, the 
opponent is thinking like you are, so, he'll easily end up with your 
party.

.If you are at the life gauge limit be certain that your enemy will try 
to knock you out with an special or weak attack, don't get desesperated 
and try to use the hints i gave you.
