Rating: 6/10
This basically allows you to be invisible for a good amount of time. Even
though you might be invisible, mercenaries can still see you if they use their
electromagnetic vision. It also cannot be used when you are moving at a fast
paste or while you are using gadgets and weapons. And don't even try it in the
rain. So you might want to be rather cautious when using it.

-The Ledge Grab-

Rating: 9/10
This new move allows you to, when hanging on a ledge of some sort, can grab a
mercenary and throw him down. A very useful new move, use it on unsuspecting
mercenaries..

-The Heartbeat sensor-
----------------------
Rating 10/10
When you are aiming your weapon, this gadget acts like a radar. It will detect
any mercenaries in the radars range, well, it will actually detect their
heartbeat. This gadget can be extremely helpful in some situations. The best
thing about this new gadget is, it's really fun to use and sort of follow
mercenaries. You should use the heartbeat sensor when you get ready to enter a
new room, you know, just sort of scan the area and make sure there is no
mercenaries.

If you have played the Co-op portion of Splinter Cell you probably noticed that
there is advanced moves that require two actual spies to do.

-Scale Boost:-

Just like in Co-op, you can use this move to boost your team-mate up to higher
areas. And just like in Co-op, it can only be done in certain areas.

-Human Ladder:-

With this move, you can climb on your partner and use him to get to higher
obstacles.
Note: This can only be done when a spy is hanging from a ledge or something.

Rating: 7/10
This move allows you to run up a wall and do a backflip off of it. Just find a
wall that is rather high, start running quickly towards it and then press the
Y button..

-Back-to-Wall maneuver-
----------------------
Rating: 9/10
With this move you can put your back to a wall. If you do the back to wall move
say on a door way, you can press X and fire your weapon into the door way
while you still have a good amount of protection from the wall. If you wish to
do the back-to-wall maneuver, just press the A button when you are near a wall
of some sort. You can also do the back-to-wall maneuver while crouched. You can
also use your thermal\night vision while using the Back-to-wall maneuver,
mercenaries won't be able to tell whether or not you're using them.

-Grabbing a Mercenary-

Rating: NA/10
You also have the ability to grab a mercenary. When you grab him, you have the
ability to talk to him if you wish, you can press the A button and break that
bastards neck or if you are in a good mood, you can just press the R button
and plainly knock him out. But, after a while (if you don't do anything) the
mercenary can and will go unconscious for a period of time. Also it can be
pretty tricky when grabbing a mercenary, most of the time you will just elbow
him, so time your grab.

-Elbow Strike-

Rating: 8/10
The Elbow strike allows you to hit a mercenary with your elbow and knock them
out for a moments time. You can strike them from the sides, front and even
behind them. To use this move, just get close to a mercenary and press the A
button and BAMM!

By pressing the X button you can bust out your weapon where you can shoot a
electrical charge at mercenaries and shock them or if you must, you can even
shoot it a cameras, motion detectors and even lasers and temporarily disable
them. It can also be used to fire your gadgets via the left trigger.

-Binoculars-
------------
Rating: 7.5/10
These allow you to zoom in and get a better look of your surroundings. To
use the binoculars just double click the RIGHT joystick pad. You can zoom in
by pressing UP on your directional pad. You can also intercept mercenary
communication with these as well. So use them on unsuspecting mercenaries and
to learn the diabolical and yet so obvious plan...

-Flashbang Grenade-

Rating: 7/10
These grenades allow you to temporarily blind anything in or near the blast
radius. Use flashbang grenades when you are in a firefight and need to get out
of there quickly...

-Smoke Grenade-

Rating: 8/10
These grenades give off a dark smoke when they blow, thus allowing you to
sneak by mercenaries undetected. It will also disrupt mercenaries visions.
You can also use smoke grenades to sneak by cameras. So, use them only when
you need to.

-Chaff Grenade-

Rating: 8/10
These grenades can disrupt lasers, so use them if you can't get past a group
if lasers that are in your path. They also can temporarily "knock out"
cameras, motion detectors and mercenary vision, but move rather quickly, it
won't last forever..

-Sticky Cameras-

Rating: 7/10
Just like in the Single player portion of Chaos Theory, sticky cameras can
zoom in to get a better look at the surroundings, they can be used as a thermal
vision viewer, night vision and as a gas grenade. You can cycle through your
sticky cameras (if you've used them) by basically pressing up on the
directional pad..

-Spy Bullets-

Rating: 8/10
You can shoot these at mercenaries and have them appear on your radar. Use
these to trial mercenaries if you feel the need. If you decide to shoot it
at a wall, it just acts like a radar device. You can also use it to intercept
radio chatter from evil mercenaries. So use it if you are wanting some juicy
mercenary info on all their plans...

-Alarm Snare-

Rating: 8/10
If you fire these babies at say, a camera, motion detector or even a laser,
it will sound an alarm hopefully tricking the mercenaries thus giving you a
divine opportunity to sneak past them. Use it wisely.

--Always STAY behind mercenaries. Never, EVER get infront of them. With all
the neat gadgets they have, you're sure to be dead rather quickly.
--DON'T go Rambo. I cannot stress this enough. Going all out Rambo will
Guarantee your death quickly. Just stay calm and control your anger.
--Watch out for mercenary traps such as mines. Just stop, take some time to
look around and get a good view of where you are going and make sure there is
not any traps you can run into and get killed.
--Be on the look out for cameras, laser trip wires and motion detectors. These
things can cripple your plan very quickly so be on the look out for them.
--Use coordination. Have you and your partner coordinate with each other to
figure out how and where you are going to take down enemy mercenaries.
--Ambush mercenaries even if there is only one of them.
--Move slowly, take your time. Even though you might have a time limit, you
still should be patient and just track slowly, softly.
--Stay in the darkness. Never EVER go into the light unless you have no
absolute choice. Doing so will reveal your position and Guarantee your death.
--Play the tutorials mutiple times.

The best way to get a grab on a Merc is either to sneak up on him or throw
Smokes and Flash bangs at him. Go behind him, but don't get close. After he
uses Berserk (Spins his gun around 360 degrees) go up to him and grab his neck.

Know what most mercs do at the start of each level (eg. In Aquarius my friends
usually go straight to the office to check it) and wait in ambush for a quick
neck break.
When using your taser (eg, in club house on the roof to shoot out the
electrical) turn off your laser so as you don't appear up on the mercs
electromagnetic tracking.
If a merc is in a room, watch what kind of vision he is using, eg. if he is on
electromagnetic you are almost invisible to him when not using a gadget. If he
is on motion tracking, you only appear as a black blob, so hide in a dark
corner. If he has his laser on he doesn't get sound detection, so you can be
noisy as long as you don't run in front of him.

When you enter a map, never use the main entrance! Some n00b mercs will just
camp by the only entrance they know, while you can just sneak by and do the
objectives. For example, on Warehouse, many n00bs would just go through the
main entrance (the catwalk at the top of the rope), but there are so many
other entrances! 5 slightly different ways in to be exact, where the mercs
won't expect you. Also, with so many ways in, you and your partner MUST
split up!

A good tip for spies is that you should avoid using any kind of goggles when
you're near mercs. It sounds stupid but when I play I always avoid using
goggles when I'm near mercs. I use thermal vision just for 2 seconds, at the
most, just to check where they are and then turn them off. And then just watch
them running around, looking for me. My last victory was like that: they got me
once at the beginning because I was running too fast in a balcony (Deftech map)
and then I disappeared and was never found again ;-). And I was playing alone.
It was a lot of fun to see two mercs running around like crazy while I was
seeing them so clearly.
Another good tip: more than avoiding fights you can win, avoid fights you WILL
win. Because you may take out a merc, but he will warn his team of the attack
and then you'll have two mercs (the respawned enemy you killed and his
companion) biting you ankles where before you had just unsuspecting guy who
would have probably gone away and give you time to take care of your
objectives.
THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF ALL!! Explore the maps to the max in Tutorial
mode before you play online. Everyone does it, but not everyone makes it
thoroughly enough and then end up giving their position away by hacking panels
or not knowing where to hide when they could have used a vent or learned to
fool a mercenary by using a good hiding place or a special escape route.

One thing you can do, if you're playing in an open level is shoot a sticky cam.
onto a high up corner so you can see where the mercs are at all times.
Learn the fake out. This is where you're sitting on top of a box, and the merc
sees you. If he's close enough to jump on, jump straight up first. If your
lucky, the merc will berserk, then your free to jump on him.
This may seem obvious, but you would be surprised to see how many people do
this. When you flash a merc, don't keep running the same direction/straight at
him. Start running back and forth to confuse them. If that doesn't work, drop a
smoke.
Watch and Learn. Don't just run in. Sit back and watch the mercs for a few
minutes. Learn their patrol patterns (if there is a pattern). Then find a spot
where they leave their back open, and simply wait for them to walk their backs
right to you.
Never run unless you have to. You'd be surprised to how much noise most people
make. It's always better to crouch-walk. (unless, of course, your being chased)
Mix up your strategy. There is usually different ways to leave your spawn, and
your oppenents will notice if you keep coming from the same spot. So mix it up
a little bit, and keep them on their toes.
One last thing, use distraction to your advantage. Have your partner (or
yourself) run up and start tazing/smoking/flashing the mercs. While they're
busy trying to kill one of you, the other one will sneak up and grab a neck.
This will most likely get the other mercs attention on you, making his neck
ripe for the picking for the distraction spy.

My best advice is that when you're on Story mode, and you're sure that with the
way things are going you can't possibly beat the Mercs (Especially if you're on
the last life), loudly declare "FIGHT TO THE DEATH!" and run psychotically at
them trying to smack them, jump on them, smoke them, flash them, and neckbreak
them.
At the very worst, by the end of the match they'll wish they just let you hack
the objectives. At best, you'll kill them and have a window to win anyway :)

I find this to be an extremely useful layout.Using this layout you are an force
to be reckoned with in close range and at long range.I win plenty of games with
this lay out.
I also find that in death match charging a merc directly is extremely useful. I
cannot remember how many times I charged a merc directly and came out with all
my health and 1 extra kill.
When you go to charge the merc make sure you come from the side of him, or the
front of him if your a really good player and know what your doing.This sounds
wierd but dont come from behind him.You will be running at him and most likely
he will see the sound detector and see its pointing behind him and he'll
beserk.When you rush up to him immediantly throw a FlashBang, follow that up
with a smoke. Smoke the area thats 10 feet around you(1-2 smokes) throw another
flash. Either get to a higher position then him and jump on him, or just run
behind him and break his neck.
Useing this tactic in death match when the round is over I ussually get over 8
kills. It's an extremely good tactic even though you risk alot.
