Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2
Question from Knirt
Asked on: 2/23 6:42PMI've followed the instructions of scurty's tutorial, raced all the laps required without hitting any obstacle, neither any enemy car. Did them perfectly. Anything will help, since I just need to unlock the two cars that request 4 and 8 Clean Laps. Thanks in advance.

Wonderful. I've noticed that taking shortcuts make you lose your "Clean Lap" stat. So, to get the bonus, you can't hit any big object, enemy car or wall (as mentioned), but also, cannot take shortcuts. That was my mistake. Now I've got it. Thanks ;D
To get a clean race, you need to finish a race without hitting any object (road signs, opponents, fences) or wall. I've had a look at scurty's tutorial and I agree with his tips for a clean race. What I can add is this:
1. Make sure the AI skill level is set to Advanced and that you have a full grid of opponents to race against.
2. Try to drive without using any fancy crap; don't hit any of the road signs, emphasis on "any". Some count as heavy objects, causing you to restart the race.
3. For each clean lap you drive, you get a "Clean Lap" bonus of 2000 points. It says this after every clean lap you make. Use this to track your progress; if you don't get a "Clean Lap" bonus at the end of a lap, just restart the race.
4. Scruty said to use a slower car when attempting this challenge. While I agree with that, I'd like to suggest using the fastest car of the slowest class, a.k.a. the Pursuit Ford Crown Victoria. Use this car to pull in front of your opponents early in the race and you can just forget about them after that. Again, this is only a suggestion. You don't have to use this car; I, personally just find it best.
5. You can use any track of your choice but your best bet is to attempt this goal at National Forest or Coastal Parklands. They're both pretty wide and short tracks.
6. Shortcuts make the game easier, but I'd avoid using them because some of them have a lot of crap in the way. Just stick to the main road throughout the whole race.
Hope this helps.
