I have another way. If you want defeat him, keep attacking and dont give him chance to react. Works best with Quan Chi. If he manages to get a swing in, block. You cannot afford to be knocked down. Oh and use weapons, they are the fastest. This is how my bro Cody did it on Arcade.

statusCombo attacks and blocking are your best friends here. You also want to be about a step or two away from him at all times. Other than that, what I can recommend is that he is most vulnerable after he swings his arm at you in a 3D manner. After he does the 3D arm swing, combo away. Otherwise you want to keep that block button pressed down almost at all times.

If you want to defeat Moloch, you need to use characters with the powerup ability and strike him first without getting hit by him, else the buff will be neutralized. Such characters are sub-zero, nitara, kung lao, quan chi, kano and others.
