A spec points are a way of gauging a players skill. the more A spec points they have, the harder the races they run.

basically, in any given race, when you, as the player, race in A Spec mode (Not letting the AI race in B spec mode), your car is weighed against the AI cars. if your car completely outdoes them in Power to Weight ratio, downforce, tires used, and horsepower, you will receive very few A spec points. if your car is completely on par with the Ai cars, you will receive 60 A spec points. if your car is below the Ai car's competition somewhat, you should be racing for 100 A spec points or so. and if your car is deemed WAY below the AI cars, then you should be racing for 200 A spec points.

Let it be known that there are some glitches in the system. the Chaparral 2J will almost always be racing for 200 A spec points, as will the Dodge Ram pickup truck. this is due to programming errors, which make the game recognize said vehicles not as themselves, but as much lower powered, and thus underrated, vehicles from the game.

it should also be noted that the highest A spec points reachable is over 111,000. And that Driving missions give out 250 points each. Also, if you win, say, 60 points from one event, and then go back and do it for all 200, you won't get 260 points in total form that event. you'll get 140 points, rounding out your total from that event to 200. In short, points are not stackable form one event. the maximum points available form each event (no matter how many times you win) is 200. and Arcade A spec points do NOT roll over to Career mode.

Whew, long answer, Hope that fixes any questions you had!
