How many hours does it take to beat this game on average?
Personally, I'd say it's closer to 8 - 12 hours, even if you do all the various sidequests. If you use a walkthrough and just blast through the story, you can probably get through it in as little as 5 - 7 hours.

statusOh, around 20 probably, less if you're quick on the uptake.

Check Ubisoft's Most Wanted List for some of the best times. I'm at position 106 - I clocked it in a bit over 3 hours. That's including collecting everything. But it was a speed run, and you are bound to enjoy it more if you take your time.
