Erection sword kills Rathalos in one hit.

Okay only offline way i know is by doing Catch the Rathalos Quest ( like 1% chance reward) or you have to beat The Troublesome Pair (final quest), where when I first beat it, got 2 rathalos wings.

Weapon- I use Siegmund prolly one of the best offline swords

Armour -umm i dont know maybe if you have enough resources try to get rathalos greaves, the an ioprey tasset, Kut-Ku vambraces and Kut Ku mail.

Items- you should take flash bangs, potions, mega potions, antidotes, phsychoserum, paintballs, and anything else that you would want to use ex. pitfalls, lrg barrel bombs etc...

Riflesspinfast isn't serious. There is no weapon known as the "Erection Sword"; it was a juveinle sexual pun. The best way to get a wing, though, is to do Capture the Rathalos a few times and hope you get it or do Troublesome Pair and hope. The best weapons would be a Babel Lance or Ogre Tusk for lances, a high-attack great sword (I don't use great swords, unsure which is best), a Deathprize or Poison Battleaxe for sword and shields, and a high-attack hammer (I don't use hammers). A lance is good because you can attack and move while blocking, a sword and shield is good because it attacks quickly and you can run with it equipped. I would use whatever weapon class you are best with and you should kill him without too much of a problem. And yes, 3 Herbivore Eggs should get you a commendation. Make sure to hit him in the head to do the most damage, you can also try removing the tail if you want (it gets you an extra carve). For armor, just use something with high defense and hopefully a high elemental fire resistance. I found full Kut-Ku to be excellent. Of course, the best armor would be full Rathalos armor, but you probably don't have that. Good luck!

Just Dont use a redwing to fight it!!
It's a fire sword and the rathalos has strong defence against fire.
If you're going to use a great sword then sigmund is the best Offline to use.
however sigmund is made out of rathalos and monoblos materials...... so i'd use a great serpent blade. (look at the weapons charts in the actual faq section)
if you have a pleisoth water sword then use that (online materials though)

Armourwise use kut ku armour and steel armour if you can be bothered to mine for malachite ore otherwise just use kut ku with an ioprey tasset and rathalos greaves like Theodan21 said - it gives you skills

For items it depends how much you rely on things like pitfall traps...
if you're struggling I would bring:
5 flash bombs
1 pitfall trap
10 herbs
10 potions
10 mega potions
3 well done steaks
5 whetstones
10+ paintballs
1 phychoserum and
2-4 antidotes plus anything you think i've missed out

The only missions ive ever had commendations from are The horn of the Monoblos and the Powderstone mission

if you're only a lancer(mean that you don't need the other weapon) and you just have rampart, med monster bone will useless. so you can trade it with machalite ore in the swamp elder. because it, I have a babel sphere now.

actually I'm an easygoing character so I'm only beat rathalos by my 'old' rampart and my full kut-ku armor(tasset, varbraces and mail) and plus a battle legging. and I'm only brought 5 flash bomb and 3 flash bug & 3 bomb material. I'm not comfortable by using the other things like lg barrel bomb and so on. I like beat that creature 1 on 1 battle. so, if you're freshman in MH game, you can follow me. it's cheap and eazy.

factually, the important thing in MH RPG is SKILL. money will come to you automatically if you're skilled.(in the other side, in my opinion, a gunner will prefer a lot of money than skill)

I'm an offline player, so, I when I use a kut-ku armor I'm helmless. well because It's good looking. hehe.. you should follow me because without helmet, you can beat rathalos too. am I right?

by the way, you can get A commendation by delivered 3 herbivore egg(if you still a 4 star quest hunter) i made my rampart after I complete that quest and beat rathalos after I've got rampart.

if you are new player, you should chose a head locking strategy for rathalos. you know that strategy right? yes, by stabbing your babel sphere to rath's head rapidly. i'm only spend 10-11 minute to make rath limping.

Keep on attaking the rathalos wing when you get the chance and if you noch off the claws you should get a rathalos wing. Well i do anyway

kill rathalos lot of times, or you can change a special iten for the rathalos wing(you change the itens with the old men in the shamp(the place when gypceros stay)).I can change the wyvern marrow for a rathalos wing.

troublesome pair offline for easy wing[1 or 2 trys]
some of the lower ones give but it's harder unless you do troublesome pair
then do the other ones it ups the chance by about 40

the most used weapon for fast kill on rathalos is small sword
because you can move around more freely as well as attack his tail

a lance is hard to use compared way too slow
a giant sword can be slow but easy if you can use properly
bowgun is dumb when he goes into rage mode theres no way you can not get hit
unless your not attacking
hammer can be good never really used one on rathalos

if you use giant sword hit him once then pull it back up
wait for openings study his attacks

heres a complete guide for small sword less hits

when he runs move out of the way do not attack him until he is up on both his feet
[dangerus because if he attacks you can get hurt also if you hit him while he's sliding or starting to get up you can get knocked down like he hit you from run]

when he swings his tail either stand back let him finish
or slash his legs on the other side of the way he's turning
a trick is to hit his tail with small sword while he turns but thats hard to pull off
seeing as you can get hit by his tail

when he shots fireballs thats the open hit moment
one fire ball means hit his head or tail
3 fire balls means you can hit his head but don't jump infront of it....
or his tail always roll to side incase he desides to run next

don't carv tail when in battle like i do[not every one can pull it off]

when he's in air either flash
fire ball one try to get him to face a closed area
with his tail end in a open
then when he lands attack his tail but becarful as the wind can knock you
slightly
if he's up in air and your afread of claw attack
near a wall get him to face the wall
or try to dive before he does it
roll under him sometimes it works
DO NOT RUN AWAY
he can claw you from across the map made me jump 4 feet first time he did it

when he sits there and grawls
you can try for tail or feet however
you can get knocked back by his moving tail
he might bite you if you attack the front when he comes out of grawl

when he bites let him have his space or you can attack his legs
don't attack the tail as when he does it his tail moves slightly up and down to the side
it will knock you clear into his line of sight then he runs which can be very anoyying

remember to always run off to his side so when he attacks
it hits where not you are at

try using small sword for less chances to get hit

try using a giant sword for hevy hits but more chances to get hit

try lance if you know how to head lock

try bow gun if you want to wait it out on some ledge

try hammer if you know how to

The only way to get rathalos wing is by passing all quests even the urgent ones. Then you can complete quest a troublesome pair where u need to fight both rathalos and rathian in the swamp zone and they arnt just normal rathalos and rathian they are the online version but its a offline mission and i know cause i got full rathalos and u need wing for the helm.

For rathalos a arbalest+ would be good since los flies a lot and you can get hits in without getting hurt. If you are going to use arbalest+ bring clusts, crags, pierces, pellets, and normal lvl2. (crag is good for getting los to fall out of the sky and get the tail off. I use the gunner battle set and beat los without dying once. Bring a pitfall trap, 2 trap tools, 2 nets, some book of combos, flash bombs, and some mega potions and potions. The Troubleesome Pair quest and capture a rathalos quest give rathalos wings rarely in rewards. If you want to lance it try anything with over 270 attack power with good green sharpness.

The wing is a randome carve/ reward and is verry rare. i would reccamend bringing potions, herbs, blue mushrooms, mega potions, weatstones, flashbombs, antidote, a trap, berrel bombs small and large, and a book of combos 1. for armor, just bring your best base deffense armor, and bring a great sword.

Rathalos wing ? you must play online. im a gunner . i use rapidcaster . and my armor is gravios set . its so easy to kill rathalos with gunner .

You should play A Troublesome Pair
I get a los wing from this mission
Use sigmund or Ancient blade (for GS)
Use any weapon that can use Clust lvl 2/3 (for gunner)
Bring Ancient potion,
max potion (2, in case if you unconscious),
dung bomb (for thrown at area 3),
mega juice,
mega armor&demon drug,
pitfall trap,
book of combine 123 (gunner),
mega potion,
herb,
blue mushroom,
honey,etc
If you don't get one, then play that mission again
