The Sims 2: Castaway

No it is not a bad question, lots of us have had this happen and I know what this is like and have had it say the same thing. Plus, when i put traps in the Throne room on Volcano Island where you repair the forge and go back the next day or so, they have sunk into the floor or dissappeared.

Have also encountered a glitch while trying to set traps about. Some spots after awhile will not let you set a trap, shoo the chicken nor can you click on it. and it is like it is not there at all. So avoid, those spots and that Throne room place all together for setting traps.

Some of the best places that I found is on the second island / Airplane Island.

1st spot - In the areas where you first spotted the boar and have to build the bridge. I caught a chicken in this area and then built the chicken coop there. Over by the rice is a bad spot and it became unusable for me. The other one gave me several chickens. But you can try them both if you like.

2nd spot -Then there is the area across the bridge over by the quicksand that you cannot cross. There are two spot here also and sometime two chickens will appear.

3rd spot - Another one is along the beach right before you go over to the Volcano Island.

Here is how and what you do to catch the chicken.

1.] Build six to 7 traps. [ and yes you may have to make more if they dissappear or find that the are distroyed / broken.That is, if you wish to keep catching these chickens for the food. ]

2.] Go to the area that has those spots where you have seen chickens at.

a. ] Place traps only on spots where a chicken has been that you shooed away and only after you have picked up the feathers.

b.] To shoo a chicken away. You have to stand in front of it or move around it till it flys away.

c. ] Once the chicken has flown away; pick up the feathers and set the trap.

d. ] Once you have finished gathering the resources in the area. leave and come back the next day or two. By this time you should have caught a chicken. [ Also note the time of the sun or moon when you left. Return time should be about the same time thast you set the trap. ]

3.] Things you should never do when trying to catch a chicken.
a.] Never set a trap on a spot that has no chicken on it. [ Reason for this is you will not get a chicken. ]
b.] Never set a trap on spots that only contain feathers and you did not shoo the chicken from. [ Reason for this is because you may get a failed response, spot may become unusable or chicken may never flay away.]

4.] Catching a chicken takes time to do and once you catch one you will say, ''Yippie!''. So do not give up and keep trying till you get one. The worst thing that can happen is when the chicken you caught and before you get the coop built. Is when one of the crewmates eats it before you can set the chicken on the coop. Then you do not get any eggs.
