Introduction

Thank you Activision and Rapala for bringing us this blessed and wonderful fishing game. Yes folks this fishing game is unbelievable in every way possible. It raises the bar for all others and is the best fishing game I have ever played/experienced. Thank you also for making a SUPER in depth fishing game with all the angles covered for us fishermen. And heck, this game would be fun for anyone if they gave it a chance!

Story

Catch fish! And also participate in competitions and tournaments to be the best there is in the sport you love!

Game Play

Alright now for the good parts! This game has it all. First off you have an immense collection of gear and bait to earn and unlock. Every "Rapala" lure and bait is just as authentic as it's name and who ever thought of putting some thinking mans strategy into a fishing game. Also on top of all that you have endless rods, lines, and other sweet "upgrades" to enhance your fishing experience. Depending on where you are fishing (lake,stream,river) and also depending on the fish you after, you will need to decide which is best for the job. This is where the game gets a bit challenging because you must explore different techniques and strategies when it comes to a good catch. Also with so many lures, each lure acts and moves differently in the water as well. You travel on a boat which you are able to freely control yourself, and while the levels aren't huge they are still pretty big. Each level is simply amazing and are real fishing locations. From the start you are able to select from a handful of characters to start your career. The game gets pretty challenging and even with the difficulty setting, it's still quite a challenge.

Controls

The controls are pretty overwhelming at first. It might seem impossible to be able to get a good cast or drive your boat without any trouble. I would have docked the score a bit but there is no need to only for one simple reason. It just takes a little time to get the controls down and after about an hour or two of game play you will be driving and casting like a real pro.

Graphics

The graphics are really really nice. Each level is fully detailed and sprawling with live in the far back grounds. It's almost to beautiful. I like how they captured real out doors life. Also the under water struggles and the fish look so real and life like.

Music

Really nice and mellow. What I like to hear in this type of game. The sound effects are phenomenal as well. There is nothing like hearing a crisp clean cast and the plop in the water!

Replay value/Play time/Buy or rent

The replay value is high. Of all the things you can do and that this game keeps records of everything I can't see you standing around when there are bigger and better fish out there. This game will keep you going for a long long time. And if you are into fishing game I seriously recommend this game. It's the fishing games best kept secret!
