"Creepy to the core..."
If you are looking for an intense, creepy gaming experience, then Siren is for you. If you do not have a great amount of patience, then you should try renting Siren before buying it. This game is a true example of survival horror. The characters in this dark game must sneak, run, hide, and sometimes shoot and pound their way stages that are filled with horrific challenges. This game is NOTHING like RE (Resident Evil). So, if you are looking for a similar game to RE...keep looking. Siren is a unique survival horror game with unusual features and difficult challenges. If you have nerves of steel and are not opposed to the old mantra, "try and try again," then you should give Siren a go. Here are some pros and cons to this game (based on my opinions):
Pros- Realistic and creepy as hell! Music/Sound add to the intense darkness and gloominess. Interesting story and good characters. Unique sightjacking feature that can be a great deal of help in certain situations. Character graphics and environments...truly gloomy and doomful. Great deal of attention to detail overall in Siren. This is a one-of-kind game that is memorable deserves at the very least a rental.
Cons- Sometimes sticky, character movements. Slow running characters are almost enough to make your heart stop beating! Some game objectives are too difficult and may discourage impatient players from trying over and over again. Unique sightjack system can be confusing at times and render your character helpless while in sightjack mode. Siren is almost too dark in certain stages...makes it hard to see where your character is going.
Just remember that Siren is not a game you can just whip through and beat in an hour. If you do decide to purchase this game, play it in small chunks and enjoy every aspect of this game. I think this game is way underrated. I think a lot of players simply quit on Siren because it is difficult and because they probably got tired of replaying boards over and over again. This is why patience is a MUST for this game.
