"Tennis at it's best"

Alright, I will admit it. Tennis is not a very fun sport to watch, and a very small majority of people play this sport for fun. Well, I am a very small part of that majority, and while I have no hope in becoming a professional; i am a somewhat decent player. For me, Sega Sports Tennis made that "no hope" become a virtual reality.

Gameplay- 10/10- I will sum up the main part of this game in a few words. A nobody rises to a somebody. With that being said, The main portion of this game is you creating a tennis player from scratch. The user controls everything from attire to the type of racket used by the tennis player.

Now the fun beings, A nobody should not be a superstar tennis player- Well, not from the start at least. All tennis players have to practice their skills, and this game offers a few fun mini games to make raising stats fun for a change! For example, In order to raise the serving skill you must knock over objects from a conveyor belt. Sure, this may seem unrealistic, but in video games who really cares about realism?

When training is done, your tennis player needs to take on a few professionals. Sadly, Greats like pete sampras or Andre Agassi, or even the williams sisters are not included in this game. If there would be one downside to the gameplay I would have to choose this over everything else.

Sound- 7/10- Aside from the typical groaning in tennis, or the sound of the ball hitting the court; You cannot expect much sound in the game. There is not any licenced music, but a nice generic beat. Overall, I cannot blame them for the job they did, but they could have done just a tad better.

Graphics- 9/10- Sega Sports Tennis is a pretty well animated game. By no means does it compare to a modern day gran turismo by pushing the graphics to the limit.. But it is a decent job.

Rent or buy-With a very slim exception of tennis games on the market today, This game tops every single tennis game made for any system. With a great and fun style of play, and a nice style of characters, This game can only be described with one word- Awesome. Even if you do not play tennis Sega sports Tennis is one game that is a must buy.
