Mercenaries

"Man you gotta love the destruction."
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in this game is good except the best showing of the graphics is the cut-scenes which are only at the beginning of the game so you can have some fun and not having to worry about when the next cut-scene comes up.
Sound: 9/10
The sound wasn't really in the game at least I didn't hear any only time I heard it was when I went into battles and then it got really up rocky style. Every weapon in the game has its own sound except for the shotgun it didn't have any sound at all, which I found a little weird.
Controls: 10/10
I'm not really going to go into the controls because it's basically like every other shooter games.
Game play: 10/10
The Game play is the major fun of this game. You are only in it for the cash and the destruction. See that building? Use a bomber and it goes bye bye. See that car? Just for the fun of it use the rocket propelled grenade launcher and it goes bye bye. Destroying North Korean cars (which are your enemies) you get cash and you can spend the cash getting cars for you to get transported around, supplies for you get some weapons and health (and your really going to thank that supply shipping around the last levels), and last the most useful one of all the air support which would give you the ability to go and destroy the building, bunkers, tanks and even if you don't feel like fighting with your guns the people. If you kill a civilian or a faction that you are friendly with then you get fined which makes you lose the cash that you gained but the friendly never run right in front of you unless you run right behind them and the civilians are never around the battlefield. I really liked the cars because you could press the honk button and the armed people would go into your car so you could do a mission and have them do all the shooting from the turret that was on top of the vehicle but I didn't like how the people wouldn't be able to drive I would like for them to drive so I could do the shooting while they was driving. And you get all this from the Russian website called Merchants of Menace. The map is very large and allows you run everywhere but the red parts because if you go there then the allied nations is thinking your trying to run and will bomb you. But you can only use off road vehicles since the game is very mountain like if you try using something like a civilian car you would only go about 3 feet up the mountain before falling back down. But I didn't really use the civilian car unless I was going through North Korean territory. Every Faction is either hostile or friendly based on what you do in the game, like if you the Chinese they will try killing you but you will get the Russian mafia's respect. Almost everything can be destroyed which gives you some freedom to see what you want to make the city into. As I said you can compare this game to GTA and do missions when ever you feel like doing them. I really liked the cheat to play as Han Solo, who wouldn't like to play as Han Solo in the present time. You get him by destroying specific stuff or finding bioweapons/ treasures.
Story: 10/10
Well the story is that General Song, who is a dictator for the North Koreans. After killing his father and becoming the dictator. Is supposable holding Nuclear Weapons so you have to go into the land and find him by taken out his men, He is the Ace of Spades. And you have to take out all Aces before you can go after the Leader. You get to pick three different people. You work for the Ex-Ops, a mercenary team which does government and private operation stuff. There is 4 different countries that will have you do work for them and they are South Korea, they are trying to keep their neighbors while grabbing some land in the process. Chinese, they are just in it for the land too but don't care about who are neighbors and who is not. Allied Nations which is mainly United States but I do believe they are the British too anyways they are just in it too keep the peace between all the lands. And last but not least, The Russian Mafia and they are in it for the cash.
Weapons: 10/10
Like I said in the game play you get a lot of bombs but you can get more than that. You can use RPG, AK's, M-16's and even my favorite of all games the sniper rifle. But you can't do hand to hand combat but you can go around and hit them with your gun. Ha-ha it's so fun running around smacking people with a Rocket Launcher. Grenades are in this game too but only two. The regular frag grenade and the stun grenade.
Replay value: 9/10
I like the playground of destruction which if after you complete the game you can keep all your stuff. Money, vehicles, anything that you completed except for the missions of course. So I had some fun doing missions with stuff I couldn't use the first time with that mission.
Rent it or buy it?
This game is differently worth a buying game. Only rent it once to see if you like it and you probably will. If you liked the Grand Theft Auto series you will love this game.
Pros: Destruction!
Storyline
Controls
The weapons
The vehicles
Cons: shotgun sound is gone
