This review you are reading is about NBA live 2006 basically this game is just an updated version of the other basket ball games before this one. In this game there is a little more stuff to do and the teams are updated with the current players on that team so that means that Vince Carter will not be on the Toronto Raptors in this game he will be on the New Jersey Nets due to a trade that happened. And they added the freestyle superstars which allow you to use players who have one of the following: High flyer, Shooter, Scorer, Power, Stopper and Play maker there are some who have two of them for example Allen Iverson has on offense scorer and defense he has Stopper which he pit pockets the other player of the ball.

This game is really fun to play you will enjoy playing your favorite team or just giving the ball to your best 3-point shooter to shoot a 3 pointer or fly past the defense with your high flyer. The level of the game is either easy or difficult because you can change the difficulty to starter, Rookie, all-star and superstar. If you have it at starter it will be easy if you have it on Super-star it will like playing against the real person. The controls are simple; there are combos in order to do the freestyle superstars you do have to do combos for that to happen. Like for highflyer you have to do L1 + X or O or square and circle and he will fly and if close enough will do a sweet slam dunk.

Graphics in this game are pretty well done they do have 3D which is helpful. The crowd on the other hand is not in 3D, but they do cheer for the home team and do something instead of being there. But I have heard that NBA 2k6 had better graphics but I haven't played that game so I wouldn't know.

Sound is also excellent but you don't hear as much sound, the only sound you hear is the whistle or bouncing of the basket-ball or when the crowd is cheering for you if you are the home team. The music had sweet songs on it and was just great for basket ball to get you pumped up for the game. They had a bundle of songs they had about 14 songs that were really great for the game.

The playtime can keep you playing since you can keep doing dynasty mode and season mode. Then you can do playoff mode where you get to start your own playoffs with your own selections of teams. Also there is all star weekend where you can be the western or eastern all stars and battle at each other or dominate the slam dunk contest and 3 point shoot out. You can do online I have not played online since I do not own an internet add on.

The replayability is the pretty much what I included at the top.

I suggest that you buy the game; if you rent it you will most likely not finish season mode or dynasty mode so it is just easier to just buy the game.
