NCAA Football 07

"Best College Football Game... but not perfect"
The game play has a really good feel of a college football game. The atmosphere, the camera angles, the cut scenes are done awesome.
Visuals 9/10
Audio 7/10
The audio is a little better than o.k. The announcers are a little drowned out by the loud college crowd, but I guess that is adjustable a little.
Game Play 8/10
The issue I had after playing just two games... way too many excessive celebration penalties. It was late in the game, my team was up by a touchdown. My defense was trying to hold. The other team had a 4th down and 20. I stopped them, SACK! Everyone celebrated. I can run out the clock..but wait..PENALTY, excessive celebration. This should have been a dead ball penalty stepped off against my offense. But instead of stepping it off against my offense, the game stepped it off against my defense giving the other team another first down. They ended up scoring and tying the game on a trick play.
Between both teams, there were at least 8 or 10 excessive celebration penalties. Which was ridiculous since I was playing Notre Dame/Penn State. Both teams known for their discipline.
It's very frustrating.. I had 6 touchdowns in one game and I had to kick the extra point from 15 yards away on 5 of them!
Other than that the game realism is great. Frustratingly so at some points since your team will fumble the ball over and over again. An offense lineman might go to sleep for a play and momentum will swing back and forth. Very much like a college football.
The beginning of each match in Dynasty mode starts with the broadcast crew commenting and Lee Corso giving his prediction. It's entertaining, Corso selected Notre Dame to win and put on an Irish Hat.
You can also play through as a newly recruited talent. That part is set up like all of the newer EA games. With your own "dorm room" in this case with your email, cell phone, etc.
There is also a new feature where Punt and kick off returns are from a 3rd person perspective. It's an interesting perspective, but you do lose some of your ability to scan the entire field with this making it a little more difficult to get a good return. You'll be returning a punt and get caught from behind by some player you weren't ever able to see.
Do I recommend the game?
If you are a college football fan, you'll probably love it.
