"Jou Wanna Play Games With Me?"

Ah, yes, Scarface is finally here. I have to admit, I was afraid to touch this game. The only reason why I reserved it was for the poster sadly. I figured this game would just be a run and gun, but I was so wrong. It could possibly be the worst mistake that I have ever made.

Story 10/10

The game starts right off at the mansion shoot out. How could you go wrong? Oh wait, you can't. Tony hits the streets with a mean streak of revenge brewing in his veins. What do you think he plans on doing? Exactly. Running the streets, trying to build back his empire, with damn near all of the characters from the movie. Yum. The only places that I know are here and in the movie are Tony's mansion, and the Babylon Club.

Game play 10/10

Don't think that this game is a GTA clone. While there is the part that you can steal cars, this game has way more realism involved. The driving engine is damn fun, and so is shooting. Being able to target, and dismember any limb you want is pretty hard to pass up. Don't forget dealing coke, that's always a fun activity. The real fun is being able to buy everything you use in the game. The things available for purchase are as follows: Henchmen, cars, boats, investments, unique items, furniture, mansion themes, and decor. The henchman that you purchase are a major help in the game. Whether they fetch your car for you, or buy you weapons. Some even have their own special missions for which you use their abilities to complete. All in all, the actions that they make help build your empire. The other ways to build your empire include buying properties, and selling coke. I personally like doing the coke deals because I get to be destructive against humans. Although, some of the coke missions will get rather repetitive after a few hours. By purchasing fronts and businesses, you have to perform missions for each of them. Missions that range from a shotgun demolition derby, to hiding stolen merchandise from the police.

Graphics 10/10

The graphics in this game are unbelievable. The cars have their shine, and Tony looks exactly like Al Pacino. In super markets, and other buildings, detail has been paid to the items on the racks. It's not much, but better than any building in a Grand Theft Auto game. The destructible highway elements are fun to smash too. Fire hydrants spray water all over the place, wooden boxes splinter into smaller pieces, and did I mention that the cars look great? My only complaint is the way that people hold hand guns, it's as if the person holding them is lightly levitating it off of their palm.

Music 10/10

The music really caught my attention. You can kill criminals in style by listening to Johnny Cash, Rick James, LL Cool J, or the homies that do the Miami Ink theme song. The original soundtrack from the movie is also included, which is what I found as a cool little extra tid-bit.

Case and Point....

I would go ahead and rent it, not everyone has the same view on a video game, but if you loved Vice City, buy this game.
