Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007
Review by gersfan
"Great playing soccer game."
The Winning Eleven series has come along way since the early years of International Superstar Soccer. Along that way the series has improved steadily adding new features every year. This year most of the changes are rather subtle, for example more teams have been given their official names and more players have been modeled from their real life counter part's.
Game play -
This year the game play is simply amazing. The game plays just like an actual soccer match. This might make it sound boring but far from it. The ball does not stick to your player's feet meaning the game play is fluid and gaining the ball is just as easy as losing it again.
The difficulty here is perfect for everyone. On the lowest setting the computer rarely does anything to bother you. The highest setting is the opposite. Playing the game on the normal setting will force you to enforce strategy and skill which gives you a good sense of accomplishment once you score.

Graphics -
Everything about the graphics in the game is super. Several of the stadia's are based on real one's and the one's that aren't are just as impressive. A lot of the players do look quite generic but the one's that are modeled look a lot like their real life selves. The game's animations are slick and realistic, from kicking the ball to the goal celebrations. Although, since the game is not completely official a lot of the strips are simple shirts that are based on the team's colors.
9/10
Sound -
The sound in all parts of this game are solid. The menu sounds are simple and rather enjoyable. The whiny, repetitive guitar music doesn't annoy but makes you want to browse the menu's and not reach for the mute control. The in game sound is impressive too. The commentary is insightful and correct most if not all of the time. Along with the commentary is the crowd noise. The crowd sounds are nothing special but are good nonetheless.
8/10
Play Time -
As the game is so enjoyable you may find yourself playing this non-stop. The game has a lot to offer ranging from the large number of modes including the huge Master League and many competitions. There is also lot's to unlock is the PES shop including players, stadiums and hilarious novelty features.
9/10
Final Words -
If you are a fan from the other franchise and fancy a good change then buy this. If you are a veteran PES fan buy this. No one should be disappointed with this near perfect soccer game. I wasn't!
