Destroy All Humans! 2
Review by Bob Bastard
"Die, foolish humans!"
Introduction
Once I played Destroy all humans! 1 (a demo) at wal-mart. It looked really cool so I bought it. I was not disappointed. It was a free-roaming game
like Grand Theft Auto toned down a notch. It had several different weapons, including an electric gun and a gun that shot little balls of energy that made people's skin burn away. So I was thrilled when I heard that there was a Destroy All Humans! 2 coming out. On the day it came out I rushed to EB games and picked up a copy. And I was amazed how good it was! It had improved everything! More weapons, longer game, better replay value
you name it, It had it!
Story: 7/10
This has a fairly good story. You are Cryptosporidium 138, A Furon clone,
and your mission is to destroy all humans! Unfortunately, Crypto never really gets to that
Instead, Crypto meets with a pretty Blondie and works with her to STOP humanity from being destroyed! He goes around the world, to China, America, and more. Mainly the objective is to stop the KGB agents (who replace Majestic agents from the last game)from doing things such as filling a city with poisonous gas, killing some people that are important to Crypto, etc.
It's not very imaginative, but good nonetheless. The story is very long compared to Destroy All Humans! 1's.
Gameplay: 10/10
This is where the game really shines. 7 weapons are back from Destroy All Humans! 1 plus 7 new ones. You can either play on the ground or in the air, with your flying saucer. You can also do many side missions including various things that I'm not going to spoil, or try to get people to worship
The Furon god, Arkvoodle. Most of them are quite humorous. If you are not doing a mission, you can just go on a killing spree and kill everyone in sight. If you are in your flying saucer, you can bring down as many buildings as you want. That's about it for the gameplay.
Graphics/ Sound:9/10
The graphics are excellent, they capture every little detail of the environment around you very clearly. As for the sound, it is perfect. The people shouting at you, the crackle of your electric gun, the sound of telekinesis, the sound of explosions
. Just perfect. Both are also improvements on the last game.(Destroy All Humans! 1)
Play time/ replayability : 6/10
The replayability isn't much. After you've got 100% there really isn't much to do. Sure, you can kill people at your leisure, but if that's ALL you're doing, It'll get old REAL quick. Since there are so many missions, you'll probably be sick of it already once you've achieved 100%.
Average: 80
Final recommendation: I suggest buying it if you want to achieve 100% truly, but just rent it if you want to play it just enough to complete all story missions and have a bit of fun too. All in all I suggest you buy it , it is worth $50 easy.
