Destroy All Humans! 2

"Destroy All Entertainment!"

I had enjoyed the original Destroy All Humans! game, but this sequel has changed my opinion about the series and I will probably never play a Destroy All Humans! game again.

At first, the game is simple, but then it starts to become just irritating. The missions were you have to protect somebody are very annoying because no matter what you do (unless you point in the totally opposite direction) your line of fire will be hitting the person you are protecting. Also, the AI is very lackluster as I had been subjected to numerous occassions where the person I was protecting ended up blowing themselves up, forcing me to restart the mission with very low ammo.

The control is probably one of the only good things about Destory All Humans! 2. I was able to do everything pretty easily without many problems.

Take the hilarity from the original and slit its throat. That must have been the idea behind Destroy All Humans! 2. Scanning humans in the original often brought hilarious thoughts, but in Destroy All Humans! 2, the jokes are dry and stupid. I guess the 60's just wasn't as funny as the 50's were.

Co-op is probably one of the main reasons why people will buy/rent this game, but the co-op is suffocating. Even on a large TV, the split screen seems out of whack and it's hard to know what you're doing. This also means that you can't see as much enemies as normally, leaving you open to many attacks from those freaking agents.

Of course, you are forced to scan humans to obtain information, but instead of just giving you a pink blip, the game makes you open your map up to see where you need to go, and once you get there it decides to make a pink blip. I see no point in forcing a player to press select every five seconds when it would be much easier to simply put a pink blip on the freaking radar!

The game isn't too long, which is a really, really good thing. I wouldn't recommend this title to anybody, so stay away from Destroy All Humans! 2 at your video store.
