NBA Live 07

"What is this?"

Intro: I am a big fan of NBA Live. I have always liked it more than 2k games. But every year EA disappoints me more and more. The series has gone from a fun arcade-style NBA to something that has nothing to do with this sport.

Gameplay: The game doesn't even feel like NBA anymore. The gameplay is still fast-paced, no matter how you adjust the sliders, you are not getting an accurate feel to the game. The game is full with glitches, yes glitches, not one or two but many. That is just unacceptable. The superstars moves are back. This is what I really hates about the game. I mean come on, super moves? This is not a Dragon Ball Z game! We should not be able to pull off virtually unstoppable moves in an NBA game. These super moves completely defeat the point of playing defense. Because you just can not stop a deadly three point shooter like Steve Nash, even if you are playing as a defensive team like the Spurs. This brings me to the next flaw, defense! Defense does not exist in NBA live 07. Teams will score in the upper 100 every game. Point guards will score a good 30 points, I even doubled team Steve Nash the entire game yet he scored 30 point.

Game modes: This is what EA is best at. The game modes are plenty. The dynasty mode is back and deeper than ever. You take control of a team and go though 15 seasons. But I never really finished dynasty mode, it gets boring after winning the championship three or four times. The all star weekend is back as well, New dunks are added. You also have the usual season mode and teams management, and of course the online play is there as well.

Graphics: The graphics are ok. They are not much better than last year's though. Players animation is still as bad, and players look nothing like their real life counterparts. Especially the heads. The players movements look bad too, its like they are sliding on the court not running.,

Overall: I don't recommend NBA live 07 even for the most hardcore fans. I am very disappointed with EA, they have taken it too far. They need to reconsider their plans for NBA live 08, and they better remove the super moves and glitches. For now you are better off with NBA 2k7.
