Need for Speed Carbon
Review by Goffmen
"Need For What? Indeed Speed!"
I decided to review seeing this is the first NFS or for fact First Racing game I ever got into. Of course I never paid the $49.99 Canadian for it, I trade 3 get it free :P. So the Need For Speed Begins:
Game play 8/10
so the game begins with...you guess it racing, not that you would expect from a NFS title X) But It leaves you starting with the Prize Of "most wanted" as I am told from a source. The Game play is good as its not as glossy as DUB ED but sometimes your wondering if that's a wall or a road. The Car sounds wicked and looks wicked as you jam on down the mean streets of Kampton (Straight Outta Where?) yeah The only thing I got against the game play is somewhat the glossiness but more or less the night time of the game, I would like to see vary times of the day but OH NO EA makes you wanting more :P.
Graphics 8/10
As I never really did compare to Grand Turismo I find the graphics are excellent as each car actually looks like the real car but you got to give way that its only computer animation of the vehicle but still "Nice" I really like the graphics they give to MY CAR the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle 454 OH Yeah!! This is what my family once owned exactly like the one in this game which was and foremost the main reason I bought this game. The Cut scenes are well planned out but the realism mixed with computer graphics give you a corny feel to this game but at least you can see what the people are really saying "Don't Disappoint...Again" yeah and it would be more fun to watch if they had your character in the cut scenes saying something instead of always being 1st person to the gangsters of Carbon.
Sound 7/10
I am open to all kinds of music but for EA to give 30 songs and into 3 groups (Hip-Hop, Rock, Tec hno) I was upset cause the songs are not even that good but there are a few highlights in the game, I speak of the rock section as it includes(Wolf Mother and Priestess) and a new song which I have come to enjoy "don't speak(I came to make a bang) what a catchy tune and catchy riffs to make the experience have good times to come. The Cars sound pretty life like as I bought my Camaro SS I was happy to hear it had a real muscle sound to it and then when I picked up the 69 Charger R/T I was sold!!. It had the bigger rumble and go in it compare to the Camaro SS which might have to do with Tier 1,2,3 cars. When I bought a Elise I was impress to the complete difference of the Muscle To The Exotic, How Nice of EA To give a little bit of there sound to us.
Replay 6/10
as the game story is a lot of fun and I enjoy watching the bio videos of your crew members and rivals, Its hard to start the game over again knowing its the same races, same people, same streets, But it does give you the 3 options of you preferred type of car (Muscle, Exotic, Tuner) which mean you could finish with a Muscle and start again with a Exotic to see how it unfolds. If you're not into the story again try the challenge series or the secret cards to unlock the full 100% of the game, or just play against friends in a friendly street race for a laugh.
Conclusion 7/10
its what I give this game NFS Carbon because it's just racing in the end but good racing indeed, at that note with different types of races (My favourite being the speed trap). Maybe if in the next need for speed you could get out of your car and kick some butt over a race would make the game so much more WICKED... But that's only a suggestion. Long live the Muscle cars which belong in every racing game to be made and who doesn't like racing through the streets in a Chevelle going 250 km/h, I know I do. Always remember that race car backwards is still race car
think about it.
