"Totally worth 40 bucks"

Wow. Yes, I am a huge fan of the game site Neopets, and when I heard that they were releasing a game for ps2, I was estatic. It was the first game I ever got for my ps2, and still me favorite.

Graphics: 10
Awesome graphics. What else can be said? To watch Tor run around is great; just to see his tail bob up and down. Roberta looks even better than the cartoon version on the site, and the game consists of three huge levels, broken into some even smaller levels. Just exploring is great, to look up at the crisp blue sky is amazing, and Meridell Plains is simply spectacular. Looking out into the water is great, but "wading" water and deadly water is hard to distinguish. Still, when the Darkest Faerie begins to take over, you can definately tell. The air becomes misty and purple, and so does the sky. The backgrounds fit the game, too, because they look so... cartoon-ish. Enemies have a great flow to them, and cutscenes are superb.

Sound: 8
The music is great at first, and changes when you are in a new area. However, if you are going to spend a ton of time somewhere, the music does get a tad annyoing after a while. Still great, though. The voice acting matches what you would expect the characters to sound like, and the barking of a drackonack makes me giggle every time. Great sound, except for when Roberta's magic runs out, then you get an annyoingly weird sound that is almost impossible to describe.

Controls: 8
These controls are easy to learn, especially with the mini "tutorial" of sorts you encounter during your first hour or so of play. The controls are easy for a beginner to learn, and super easy to remember. I wish, however, that some of the combat moves would've had a little more trick to them, but they are great otherwise.

Level size: 11
This game is constructed of 3 HUGE levels, all broken down into smaller ones. There is The first "level", Meridell, which consists of about ten mini levels, there is Faerieland, which is broken down into three or four building levels, and my personal favorite, Altador. It is broken into four districts, each very different but still with the Altadorian Ancient Greek charm to them. Then there is the Hall of Heroes, and the undegro- wait, I'm giving too much away. ^^ But the levels are huge and almost impossible to explore in less than a few weeks, so I give this feature an 11 out of 10.

Replay value: 10
I have played (and beaten) this game four times now, and it never gets old. The storyline is long enough to keep you interested.

Overall: 10 10, 10!!! Great game!
