"One of the most amazing First-Person-Shooters ever to be created"

Can't afford a next-gen console, or your parents won't let you have one (both of these apply to me)? Than Call Of Duty 3 is the game to get if you want an amazing FPS shooter. With every new World War II game that comes out, people are skeptical about it. Many people are disappointed, while the others become so happy that they beat the game within the next 24 hours or so. In my opinion, the Call of Duty series is the best WWII FPS every created. Many will argue this point. Let me explain it. Medal Of Honor was pretty much the first game to come out that was about WWII. At that time, it was the best game ever. Well, it was until more and more games started getting released that were about WWII. Medal Of Honor soon fell quiet when the Call Of Duty series was first released. But then, Ubisoft quickly developed another WWII series shooter that soon became one of the best series. And I'm going to be completely honest, the Brother's In Arms series has been done very well, and my only complaint comes from the horrible frame rate and graphics, thus making Call of Duty on top. This is a review for Call of Duty 3, the newest game in the ever-growing and improving series.

I think that a good place to start would have to be the graphics. Take out the new features and bam! Call Of Duty 2 all over again. The graphics only look stunning in the cutscenes, and because the Playstation 2 is an old system, it can't handle the graphics for this game that are presented on the Playstation 3 and the X Box 360. It was pretty disappointing, but it's alright and doesn't really drag down the gameplay that much. At least the characters don't look like moving pixel blobs shooting at you. The weapons do look good, and one major thing is how good the environments look compared to the older games. Again, the cutscenes look truly amazing.

Every new game in a series has new features in it. Call Of Duty 3 has a ton of new features, thus bringing us to the gameplay section of this review. One of the new major things is the short minigames that happen during a mission. For example, on some missions, you'll be rounding a corner and a German will come out and attack you, which leads to pressing a set of buttons and combinations in order to push the German back and smack him in the face with the weapon. Another is planting a satchel charge, where you again need to press certain buttons in order to completely plant the bomb. These minigames happen quite often and are extremely fun. The missions have also improved from the last COD installment. They are much more intense and satisfying and have gotten much harder. There are a lot more soldiers on both sides also, which makes the larger battles packed with the bodies of fallen Germans and Allies. To make it more interesting, they have taken the health bar out. Every time you get shot, the screen starts to turn red and blurry. Getting shot multiple times will make a message appear on screen, telling you to get some cover before you get shot again and die. So basically, all you need to do to get full health is to not get shot again, which is pretty weird. Like the first Call Of Duty, you'll be playing as different soldiers throughout the campaign. A lot of people don't like this, but it can be really boring if you play as the same person throughout the whole game with the same characters! In this game, you'll be playing as the Americans, the British, the Canadians, and the Polish army. All in all, COD 3 is much more realistic then the other games, making it an extremely entertaining game to play.

The next aspect in this review is the sound. Never in my life have I heard such amazing sound from a video game! Everything sounds absolutely spectacular. From the guns to the explosions to the shouting of soldiers, you can't get any closer to the action than this. If you're using the regular speakers built into your T.V., you're probably missing out on half of the action. But if you're using surround-sound speakers positioned all around the room, you'll fell as if you're right there in the battle playing as the main character. The sound is truly astounding,

Unfortunately, there really aren't any good bonuses to unlock. In fact, the only bonuses to unlock are just brief summaries of the characters, weapons, vehicles, etc. This game is way too easy on Easy mode, so try it on normal, and do hard for a real challenge! Although I haven't ever tried playing this game online, I heard it was okay. Try it out and see if you like it or not. On the harder difficulties, this game can take a while to beat. On easy, it takes maybe 5-7 hours. I beat it on easy, so now I'm doing it on hard. This game is just fun to play, so once you beat it, you'll want to play it again. I guarantee it.
