Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
Review by King_Brandon
"Okay game for a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series."
Introduction
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is a "sequel" to the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It was originally designed for the Playstation Portable, however Rockstar Games ported it to the Playstation 2 so we can actually see the game. However, this game was a good game for the Playstation Portable, but it's not a good game for the Playstation 2.
Graphics 4/10
The graphics of this game are very poorly done. This game has the graphics of a game made a decade ago. Rockstar Games ported this game from the Playstation Portable, and these graphics would be good for a Playstation Portable, however Rockstar Games decided not to edit the game in any way after they ported the game. They could've easily improved the graphics a bit, but they decided not to.
Game Play 6/10
The game play of this game is exactly the same of its three prequels. There isn't anything big, we just do some criminal missions for "bosses", and we still have "hidden packages", and we have the same old guns, nothing new was added. We even have the same store that sells guns. There aren't many missions for the storyline portion of the game, and if you decide to go for 100% in this game, you'll notice that this game was much shorter than the prequel. No new cars, as well. Infact, many characters were recycled from another Grand Theft Auto game, and the city was recycled from another Grand Theft Auto game, with only slight "changes". In this game, you don't have the ability to jump over cars or small fences/walls. You can "climb" like in the prequel to this game, either. The lock-on has many glitches, usually when someone runs up to you and starts beating your face with a bat, you can't lock-on properly. Also, when you want to shoot someone in front of you, and press the lock-on button, the game will probably lock-on to someone else who isn't anywhere near the person you want to lock-on. You can't manually aim properly, either. You need to annoyingly click in your analog stick to manually aim.
Sound 4/10
The sounds of the music radio, guns, and cars were recycled from prequels to this game. Some of the sound form the music radio, though, as they created some new songs/bought new songs for the radio stations, but it's mostly the same old things.
Replay Value 2/10
After you get 100% in this game, you won't want to do it again. There's no point in replaying this game after you defeat it, and it gets very boring and tedious very quickly.
Overall: 6/10
Overall, I think it's an "okay" game, but I'm a big fan of The Grand theft Auto series. This was a great game for the Playstation Portable, but the Playstation 2 is capable of handling much more than this. I don't think this game is worth a buy, rent it if you want to play it, instead.
