Tony Hawk's Project 8

"All you need in a Tony Hawk game."

I'll start by saying this: Many reviewers were hard on this game for glitches, limited customization and lack of a storyline.Personally, I loved this game.

Graphics

Due to a beautiful cut scene system in which it is witnessed in first person, the graphics in the cut scenes are nothing below stunning. The graphics are much better than any other TH game in the series because of this first-person view. The graphics while skating are nothing special, in fact they look no different from American Wasteland. One thing returning from THAW is the focus mode which slows down gameplay at the drop of a hat. The graphics during this mode are spectacular.

Gameplay

Every button is the same from any TH game prior to this installment.There is however, a very fun new mode introduced in this game. Nail The Trick Mode is a special trick mode that allows you to control the character's feet with the analogue sticks.Hardflips, kickflips, pop shove its, impossibles, etc... can all be put into one trick using this mode.You can even branch to different tricks by changing the analogue direction.

Story

The story is about a talented nobody, who goes up through the rankings of the best skater in town in hopes of making it onto Tony Hawk's skate team "Project 8". Sadly,there aren't any characters like Mindy or Eric to back you up or give you any kind of friendship, but there are professional skateboarders in each level to do missions for that will help bring tou up in the rankings.

Soundtrack

As in any Tony Hawk game, the soundtrack will never let you down.A vast combination of funk, hip hop and rock come together to reflect the entire feel and the environment of Project 8.

Rent or Buy

If you've never played a Tony Hawk title, I'd suggest renting it to get a feel of what the game is all about.If you're a hardcore Tony Hawk Pro Skater veteran like myself, I would say this game is a must own for you.Who knows? You might have the time of your video game life.
