"Duty Calls!"

As a hardcore war gamer, I picked up this game very quickly. I was just strolling through Blockbuster on a Friday after school, and saw about thirty different copies of Call of Duty 3. One of them was soon to be in my Playstation 2.

One thing that made the game so amazing is that it was outstandingly deep. I honestly never would have thought I could grow to like, or dislike in some cases, a character from a video game as much as this game has made me do. CD3 grabbed me by the throat and pulled me straight in to a world of not-so-fake people, made me want to jump out there and use myself as a human shield to protect them from the oncoming hoard of German troops. And then when my attempt to save them fails, as the game programmers so cruelly made happen, the sadness comes like a freight train. While trying to swallow past the lump that has swelled to the size of a small baseball in my throat, the sadness is also
portrayed through the utter screaming and cursing among the squad. When the medic fails to save someone from a bullet wound, it makes me honestly want to shoot them.

Another thing that adds to the amazing deepness of the game is how real it all feels. A bullet will fly past your ear as you run for cover among a pile of what used to be a building. And people running around everywhere getting shot y the Germans who by the end of the game you thoroughly hate. Then as you pump a few M1 rounds in to the nearest Gerry, you wish there was a button that allowed you to pick up a ody, run it through a couple of times, and throw it out the nearest window at another German. Another thing that adds to the realism are the graphics. They are really quite good. And the gameplay. I am fully aware I was holding a piece of plastic with a mass of wires and chips inside of it, but I felt like I was in the battle, in the game, talking with the other members of my squad right before we get ambushed. And then the realistic sounds come in after we are ambushed. The men in the battle screaming their war cries, the Germans screaming their's, men from oth sides screaming in pain as the get killed.

This being said, I hope you got the message that this game MUST be played. It will grab you and pull you in, showing no mercy. Now I am sure some of you are probably thinking I am some kind of lunatic, being this emotional about a video game, but try it out, you'll see what I mean.
