"Great Burnout Game"

Burnout, a series well known for the high speed crashes, insane modes of play, and a decent soundtrack. Well The series is back for its fifth installment on the PS2, but does it live up to expectations? Lets find out.

STORY null/10
This is a racing game, and there really is no back story to it. If you want a story, this is what I'll give you: Race, Crash, Keep Going. That's all I can give you.

GAME PLAY 7/10
Same as its always been;driving at insanely fast speeds hoping that car doesn't pull out of the arrowed wall as you slide across it,wiping out your opponents, and playing on...wait a minute, they took this out? Yes, EA made the choice to take out online mode. Besides that, they also took out crash mode, and traffic check mode. These have been major parts in the previous installments, and why they were taken out is still a mystery.

GRAPHICS 9/10
Top notch as always, not lacking anywhere, but it doesn't stand up to a 360 counterpart of a previous installment, which is obviously understandable. But more to the point, this game has some of the best graphics seen on the PS2, and I guarantee you will be amazed by them.

CONTROLS 9.5/10
Great controls, easy to pickup and play. This would have gotten a perfect score, but for so me reason, there is a horn on this game. This would make sense if it had a use, but I have never found a use for it in my playing of the game.

REPLAY VALUE 4/10
What I loved about the last Burnout games, was that you could go online and play with other people. With that feature taken out, this game lost a lot of its luster. It still has some replay value, because you can still use one of the profiles to take turns and see who's better.

BUY OR RENT?
A tough decision, but I would say rent this game first, and if you like it, buy it. The previous games are better, but Burnout Dominator is still worth playing.

Overall 8/10(Not an average)
