Major League Baseball 2K6
Review by braves995
"Good, But not great"
I wanted this game because I knew someone that had MLB 2K5 and I really wanted this game. I enjoyed playing MLB 2K5 so I bought this game. Also, for people who owned 2K5, expect a lot of changes.
Gameplay 7/10
The gamplay is so different from 05. There's a new swing that I HATED when I first used it, but then I got the hang of it and I like it a lot better. If you absoloutly don't want the swing stick, you can yurn on the traditional swing which is x. Another change is the pitching. Completley different from 05, but I like it better. When you pitch, there will be a circle when you chose your pitch. Then, Press that same button again when it goes all th way down for the most accuracy.
Graphics 7/10
I'm a little dissapointed with the graphics on this game. It seemed that the players aren't acctually hitting the ball when they hit. Before it touches the bat, it goes back on the field. Also, close-ups of people aren't that great, but you can live with them.
Realisticness 7/10
There are a couple of bad things about the realisticness of this game. Sometimes when you hit the ball on some of the harder modes, the fielder(mostly the outfielder) run's so fast that if he ran that fast on the bases, he'd have an inside the park homer every time it made it in the gap. The bad thing about the sweing stick is that the averages and homers are very unrealistic. I mean, I played 6 games with Paul Lo Duca and he still didn't get one hit. And Carlos Delgado had like a 660 average with 21 homers in 11 games!
Game Modes 6/10
The only good thing about the game modes are that there are a lot of them. They Have the World Baseball Classic(more on that later), Franchise mode, the home run derby and a lot more! In franchise mode, It's basically your ordinary season. Thre's nothing special in this mode. In the World Baseball Classic, there arefake names. And on the Dominican teams and Carribean teams, there are all American names. This mode is still fun although there are false names.
Loding screens go pretty quick, takin about 20 to 30 seconds to start a game which is pretty fast for a baseball game.
