Spider-Man 3

"Spider-man 3, a must have for all spidey fans"

Intro
Some of you may have heard the harsh criticism that spider-man 3 had been getting, particulalry on ps2, everyone moaning about graphics and other stuff, but they're only half right.

Gameplay
Ah, without gameplay a game would be...I'm not sure what it would be, but it wouldn't be much fun. The controls are simple but vary from some previous spidey game, thus take a bit of getting used to. The missions are good and have a wide variety of taks to keep you busy, and at the same time, it doesn't spoil the mvie very much as there are 5 storylines, only 1 of them being the movie's. The side missions are good, but the gang missions can get very repetitive. The only real bad point here is that the missions can be completed very quickly, leaving you with only side missions and tokens left, when you're only 50% through the game! The freeroam is excellent, you realy feel like spider-man as the swining and crawling have been tweaked to make them look more realistic. And once you get black suit you feel like god, you can send 50 thugs into commas in just one combo!

Sound
No problems here, except the sound cuts out for a bit when you complte missions and objectives, the game had a couple of voices from the movie and the others are just as good, even the thwip of your webbing is good. But the annoying foreign accents of civilians may get on your nerves.

Graphics
Now everone had moaned about the graphics and I admit they could be better, buildings and cars suddenly appear out of thin air and spidey sometimes gets his feet devoured by the ground, as well as some thugs bodies going through you, but spidey himslef looks fantastic, don't forget this game was also aimed for next gen, so don't be dissapointed if it doesn't look as good as you expect, the odd movie clip you get also looks good.

Extras
After you complete the main storyline, you still have plenty to do, there are 50 spider emblems and 100 meteorite pieces to find as well as taking over gang territories and snapping photos of villains.

Black suit
The black suit opens up a whole new world to spidey, not only does it make him stronger, faster and cooler, but he can make craters when he lands! You're moves get tweaked a bit and one hit kills are easier to achieve, but beware, if your rage meter gets to high, you can be consumed by the symbiote and pass out, appearing somewhere else and failing your current mission, to make sure that doesn't happen, you'll have to remove the suit every so often and take a break, but the suit won't want to come off and the longer you've worn it, the longer button combination you'll have to pull to get it off.

Overall
This game isn't as bad as everyone is saying and is a must have for any spidey fans, if you're still not sure, atleast rent it and check it out, or get one of the next gen versions, either way you'll be swinging over new york with a smile on your face (hopefully)
