MLB Slugfest 20-03

"Still better then games today."

I originally had wrote a review for Slugfest 20-03 on the GCN, I recently purchased it for the PS2 so thought I would right another one!

Graphics-10/10
Everything looks pretty decent. Players faces are detailed nice, though some players are light skinned color then they are in real life, but that doesn't hurt at all. Stadiums look real good. Obviously the new stadiums and Washington Nationals aren't in the game but other then that, everything looks really nice. Good to see old teams from the early 2000s playing. When players catch on fire, the fire kicks up and moves and looks real. Graphics get a 10.

Gameplay/Controls-10/10
The controls are EASY! I got a booklet with mine but I didn't even bother reading it and I figured I would catch on as I played and I did. X button is swing, O is for power hits, R2 is turbo. Simple simple SIMPLE! The gameplay is nice as well, sliding into bases and knocking basemen off their feet and punching the ball out of their hands so you can advance a base. Everything that makes slugest, slugfest!

Sound: 10/10
The sound is really good. Your can hear the players talking, when you hit a ball and sometimes when you throw it or get a home run. The announcers get annoying when they say stupid jokes and the voices are annoying too. When they talk normal and actually call the game, it's ok.

Story/Season: N/A
No real story mode, just a 62 game season mode, plus the playoffs and everything. You can't trade players or edit rosters which kinda stinks, but it's still great fun.

Multiplayer: 10/10
Multiplayer is more fun, but it is hard to find people who are actually good at the game, not to many people play it. But it's still more fun when you're playing against a human other then the CPU all the time. You cannot be on the same team, though.

Overall: 10/10
This game is still a 10! I bought it at a local movie store for $9.99 which is a bit over priced but it was well worth it. You can find it at game stop now for about $3.99. Still a great buy and a good game to add. Where ever you find this, just buy it, you will not regret it. Hope I helped!
