Call of Duty 3

"Far and Beyond the Call of Duty"
A few months ago I was out looking for a good First Person Shooter, and decided to pick up Star Wars Battlefront II. I then decided I needed to take a step out of the Star Wars world and get a WWII game. Call of duty seemed like the obvious choice.
First off, I would like to say how amazing this game looks. The graphics are some of the best you will find on the PS2. The character models and animations also look great.
The game play and controls are also astounding. The gun control is extremely easy to learn, but difficult to master. One cool feature that I found was being able to hold your breath while sniping to get a better aim. It really makes it feel like your more in the game.
The storyline is what you would expect from a WWII game. You fight in various battles as the allies against the Nazis. Each battle has a unique set of goals that take place, such as holding off the enemy, or flanking through the house. Once one of these goals is completed, you move onto the next one where you will have to do a different task.
Online play is really what made the game great for me. Up to 16 players can be in one game. You have lots of maps to choose from (Merville, Les Ormes, Eder Dam, Rouen, Mayenne, Argentan, Verdun) and aslo a lot of game types (Team Battle, Battle, War, Headquarters, Capture the Flag, Single Flag Capture the Flag) Some of the battles online can get really intense. Also, there are many clans available to join, so you can play as a team together.
Call of Duty 3 happens to be one of my personal favorite games on the Playstation 2. The main story is fun but short. Unfortunately, there is no offline multiplayer. If you have access to online play, this game is a must have for the PS2. If not, then you might want to consider renting the game first to see if it is worth it. And trust me, I think that it definitely is.
