"Well, at least it is better than Bloody Roar 3."

I am a big fan of fighting simulation games, such as Tekken and Soul Calibur. Hearing about this game, a game in which humans can turn into animals, and then fight in their animal form, I picked it up and began to play. (It was less than $15.00. I thought, "bargain!")

If only I had an Engrish-to-English dictionary on hand.

Graphics-- 7/10
Graphics make or break a game. The graphics did this game justice. They are nice, vibrant, and actually look like what they're supposed to look like.

Music/Sound/Voices-- 3/10

Ohhhhhh good golly, Ms. Molly! There is just no words to describe how awful the voice-acting is. Half of the time, their voices do not even match up with what the text box is saying, and the way the voice-actor portrays the character's voices is just horrible. (Uriko comes to mind. And since when was Jenny British?) Luckily for us, the option menu has an ability to lower sounds. The sound effects (punching, kicking, random moaning) is not all that great either. The sounds of the Zoanthropes, though, have come a long way.

Controls-- 5/10

Your standard buttons in which you can edit via the option mode. You've got your punch, kick and guard buttons, as well as "Beast" and a combination of buttons. (P+K+G). Some moves are hard to pull off, considering, unlike in Tekken, there is no command list for the characters via the game screen.

Gameplay-- 7/10

This time around, Bloody Roar 4 added a new "Career Mode" in which you can go around as a selected character, and fight with "updated stats." Also, further along in the adventure, you can assign different moves that characters use to other characters in the game. (For example, Jenny's 20-hit leg attack can also be used by, say, Uriko.) This adds a load of re-playability. Fighting in arcade mode has come a long way, as well.

Story-- 1/10

What? There was a story?

Overall-- 5/10

The game is just playable. You will not be at school or work one day, and think to yourself, "Gosh! I can't wait until I get home and play me some Bloody Roar 4!" This is a kind of game that will pass a rainy day or eliviate sheer boredom. The only thing that may be a quirk for some would be the new Career Mode.
