Burnout Dominator
Review by party_boy_UK
"Great game, something is missing though..."
Please take the time to read this review, as it sums up mostly everything about the game. Thanks, Party_boy_UK
Gameplay - 8/10
Pretty decent, feels like Burnout Revenge a lot, not much changed here. I like the gameplay as it is very easy to pick up and play, instead of you having to master any controls before you become any good at it.
Sound - 6/10
A lot of the music in this game I like. Jane's Addiction, The Sword, Trivium, yeah, great. But in my opinion it is let down by the fact it has some music I haven't heard before, or quite frankly, don't want to hear. This includes Avril Lavinge's Girlfriend. In the game once is okay, but is four different languages of the song really necessary? The other sound effects are good, such as grinding into other rivals, and other effects such as engine sounds are good too. Overall, the sound is let down by some of the music selection.
Main Story/Career 5/10
This is where the game was mostly let down. When I went on the Driver Details before I had even started the game, I seen Events Completed 0/88 . Only 88 events to do? I hoped that that statistic wasn't for career mode, but unfortunately, it was. It didn't take me long at all to get through Career mode on this game. Fun nonetheless, just far too short.
Multiplayer 9/10
Probably the games best feature. Have fun with your friends on multiplayer, as it is incredibly fun, and it can keep you occupied for a very long time. Playing 4 player on multiplayer is incredible, the fun can last you weeks and weeks. Would have been a 10 out of 10, but the lack of types of races made it a 9. Very, very fun though. If you want a game to play with your mates, this is the game.
Replay Value 4/10
Not much replay value here, just get through Career mode once, unlock as much as you can, and hey presto, you're sorted. Not much else to do (in career mode) after you've already beaten it.
Buy or Rent? Buy
Definitly buy this game. The multiplayer will keep you and your friends amused for longer than a rent time of around 1-3 weeks. The multiplayer in this game can last you and your friends MONTHS. Buy it.
Overall 7/10
Great fun game, multiplayer is fantastic, music is alright, but this version of Burnout is just missing that one thing to perfect the game. Online maybe? Another type of event? Whatever is missing in this game, lets hope that Criterion and EA sort it out in the next version.
