Scarface: The World Is Yours
Review by 03J
"Scarface: The sequel"
Scarface: The World is Yours was released for the Playstation 2 in October of 2006. Scarface: The World is Yours is the sequel to the Scarface movie that came out many years earlier.
There's a nice tutorial when you start the game which helps you learn the basic controls used in this game. Also in spots where there are too many enemies, you can go into a blind rage mode which not only makes you invincible for a short time and makes enemies automatically targeted but you get health back for every enemy you kill which is worth saving for when you're running low on health and around a lot of enemies. Also in your mansion and the trunks of your car, you have a weapons locker so you can decide what to carry on you before you go into battle. Some of the missions are not that fun like driving things around and making deliveries but the missions where the guns come into play along with taking territory over are the missions that have a lot more fun in them.
The story in Scarface: The World is Yours picks up at the last scene of the Scarface movie. Tony Montana's mansion is attacked but you have to survive the attack taking care of all the enemies then start taking over different turfs and getting revenge on the people who tried to have you killed.
When it comes to the graphics, everything looks like it did in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City when it comes to the scenery. The menus look different and you don't have to steal cars to get around. You can just call your driver to take your car to you when you need it. The graphics aren't breathtaking but they're up to par with Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. When it comes to the sound, everyone sounds like they're supposed to, Tony Montana sounds like did in the movie and everyone you meet sounds like they're supposed to. There were no problems experienced with the graphics or sound.
It takes a long time to take over all the territory that you are supposed to. Also this game has as much replayability as any Grand Theft Auto title because there is always something to do at least until you get 100% completion.
I give Scarface: The World is Yours a 9 out of 10. The game is very easy to become addicted to but the driving system does not help you when driving to different territories, you have to rely on the map. If the driving system was more reliable when you were lost and the graphics were more bneathtaking then I would have given this game a perfect score.
