"Awesome yet funny story."

Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome is a turn based strategy-RPG. When you first see it you might say: "Wow another boring FFT rip-off.". Well let me tell you that is not the case.

First let's talk about the story. I won't spoil anything here but know that the story is amazing. All characters have a purpose and are not just "helping out the good guy". They all have a background story and they all have goals. The characters never fail to say a funny remark about the situation no matter how serious it is. --9/10

Now, the gameplay is decent. Sometimes you won't know what to do but once you understand the mechanics that won't be a problem. So take your time and experiment. --5/10

Game length is what bothered me here. It takes very little time to finish the main storyline and grinding for bonus levels doesn't count as game length. The story could've had 2 or 3 more chapters. --3/10

Now one of my favorite things: The music. I personally love the music in this game. It is catchy and goes well with the environment. Battle music is awesome and really makes you want to battle. You will probably find yourself humming or whistling the tunes even when you are not playing. --10/10

About the graphics: Good luck finding an SRPG game with FFX graphics. Now, this game's graphics aren't as bad. You get the classic big-headed, small-bodied characters wielding weapons that most of the time are bigger than their torsos. The environments have a lot of detail and you will feel you really are in a volcano or an open field. 9/10

the game difficulty is o.k.. It is not a grind fest game that needs you to grind for 2 hours but it doesn't make all enemies be 10 levels below you. You are almost always at the same level range as your foes unless you grind a lot. --9/10

Overall the game is great, not the best I have played but it's still in my top 20.

I give it 8 out of 10 because it has an amazing soundtrack and a cool story but it could be longer and some things should be explained instead of letting players guess.

I definitely recommend it for SRPG fans. If you don't like this genre or find it a bit dull you might want to skip it or rent it first.
