"A visually stunning game, intense gameplay, all that you'll ask for!"

At the launch of the Playstation 2 in the US, many wondered what is the best game at that time. Most people think that it's Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore and I agree. I've never played such a great fighting game where you are totally in control of your character. Tons of moves, counters, throws, and the extreme realism of the game.

Gameplay/Controls (10 pts): Dead or Alive is known for its hot fighting action with funky and amazing moves. But the most appealing part (especially for men) are the gorgeous women. You'll never experience a 3D fighting like this in any other 3D fighting game in the market. You have total control of your character. You can pull off insane combos that will send your opponent to the floor or even throw them down a cliff. Each of the characters also have their own fighting style. You can also try out different modes of play such as 2 on 2 tag battle and group battle. You can also practice with an opponent and dictate what he/she will do. The possibilities are limitless. As for the controls, it's very convenient and Dead or Alive (for PS) owners will be familiar with the button assignments. The characters also react quickly to your button press.

Storyline (9): Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore incorporates new storylines by adding new characters and most especially, the characters relate to each other by actually talking to each other before and after their match.

Graphics/Sounds (10 pts): With Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore for the Playstation 2, it uses the amazing graphics power of the console. Environments are very rich and very realistic. The arena are very detailed and some of them are quite huge. With the characters, you'll drool over the detail of their bodies. As for the sound, you'll enjoy Digital sound effects that intensifies the gameplay. Although sometimes, sound effects are very repetitive and it gets quite annoying.

Replay Value (10 pts): As a fighting game, you'll definitely want to play this game again and again. You can try out different characters. You can also try out new moves and styles. Not to mention, some secrets like new characters and new costumes for your players.

As a conclusion, if you're a hardcore fighting game player, and you have a Sony Playstation 2 Console, this game should in your collection. You won't regret that you've shelled out your dough for this amazing game. You'll never ask for more.
